Inspiration: The first sentence popped into my head and I just had to continue.
This was where he belonged, in her arms; he was sure of it.
They laid on her bed in her dorm room together, bodies bare and exhausted from making love. Their legs tangled together under the soft sheets of the bed.
Fiyero laid on top of his green-skinned girlfriend, on his stomach, the bed sheets covering him up to his waist while his own body covered Elphaba's. One arm across the back of her neck, his hand cradling her shoulder and rubbing it ever so slightly with his fingertips. His other arm resting freely on the bed as he steadied his breath, slowly breathing in and out.
Elphaba was planting soft, sweet kisses on his hair, slightly damp with sweat. Both her hands cradling his head, keeping it to her chest, keeping him close to her. As if he'd go anywhere else.
She suddenly felt him slowly pucker his lips to leave a small series of kisses on her breast and she smiled to herself, tugged his hair just the tiniest bit, and sighed in contentment. It certainly wasn't the first time they'd made love. But sweet Oz, she swore everytime got better than the last.
He had a routine of sorts, maybe he didn't even realize it himself, but Elphaba did, Ever since their first night together at the Vinkus, when they'd gone to his home together over
the winter holidays.
He'd start off with tender kisses, then slowly working his way up to more passionate and desperate ones, inserting his tongue into her mouth. He'd kiss her everywhere on her face; her forehead, even if they weren't about to make love, he'd always cradle her face with both hands; her cheeks, her nose, her lips again. Shivers always ran down her spine when he would begin to leave wet kisses on her neck, not because of his mouth, that's when he would begin to remove her clothes. His touch sent a thrill through her entire body. Once they're in bed together, he always, always, asks her if she's ready, whether it's with a look, a touch, or his words. Elphaba couldn't describe why that simple gesture melted her every single time, but she'd always nod and he'd enter her gently and softly, taking his time. His eyes, his lips, his hands, every part of him was focused on her.
When they're close to their peak, he would always grab her leg, desperately trying to pull her closer, to push himself deeper into her, and then he'll just watch.
He'll watch as he sends her over the edge, how she arches her back and gasps in pleasure from his touch, and he'd follow soon after, crying her name out in ecstasy and pouring himself into her.
Oz, she was happy; happy to know that she pleases him as much as he does her; to know that he is proud to have the word "fiancée" follow her name; to know that even though even though he'd had sex with other girls, she's the first and only one that he had ever and will ever make love to. To know that he is hers, and she is his. Completely.
She brought one hand down from where it was cradling his head to trace his lips. Fiyero kissed her fingertips as she trailed each one across his lips. When her last finger, her index, touched his lips, he slipped it into his mouth.
"What are you doing, Yero?" Elphaba asked softly, a smile on her face as she looked down at him.
"I'm tasting you," he answered, taking her finger back into his mouth. He proceeded to work on her other fingers once he'd decided he was done with the first one, though Fiyero doubted he would ever get enough of her.
"Cannibal," she teased.
"Haven't you heard?" Fiyero raised himself to his elbows and leveled his face with hers, "greens are good for you."
She whacked his shoulder, a smile on both their faces. He never meant to be rude when he made those kinds of jokes, it was playful banter. Just like she would sometimes tease him with stereotypes of the Arjiki tribe or question his masculinity.
She sat up, resting her back against the pillows and headboard of the bed. "Can I ask you something?" her voice whispered.
He copied her position next to her and nodded.
She knew she had nothing to be scared of, she loved Fiyero and Fiyero loved her, part of her knew what he would say, but it still made her nervous.
"What do you think about the idea of a baby?"
His eyebrow arched. Suddenly he seemed to need clarification as to what exactly she was asking him.
"As in the idea of children in general or the idea of you and I having a child." he asked.
"Both," she answered.
He exhaled, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "I always knew I'd have to have a kid, pass on the throne you know, and with me being an only child there really isn't a back up plan should I not happen to have any kids. But the idea itself doesn't bother me at all. And having a baby with you," he rubbed his nose against hers and she couldn't help but peck his lips, "Fae, I…" she tensed a little bit, and he shook his head, taking her hand in his, "wow. There's no words to describe how amazing that would be."
He'd already thought about before. It was true, there was no way for him to describe what having a baby with Elphaba would be like. A little life that was the product of their love for each other, nothing would make him happier.
Elphaba let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, a bright smile painted on her face. "Really?"
"Really."
"And if our baby's green?" her bluntness took him aback slightly. She knew her answer, yet she still wanted to hear it from him, just that slight reassurance that would erase all fear from her head.
"Elphaba," his voice was stern, "I don't give a twig what color our child or children turn out to be. Lurline, they could be red for all I care," he saw her face and said it anyway, "I'd still love them with all my heart, just as I love you, sweetheart."
There it was. That was all she needed even though she'd already expected it. Elphaba wrapped her arms around Fiyero's neck and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you, love. I know you didn't really have to answer me, but I still needed to hear it, so thank you. Though I will say, if our baby turns out red, we are never ever putting up Lurlinemass decorations," she smirked.
He laughed at that, then something crept into his brain. "What brought this on, Fae?" he didn't think Elphaba had thought about having children. He thought he would have had to try and convince her for some time to even be comfortable with the idea of having a baby.
Elphaba didn't say anything. She smiled softly and pressed her lips into a thin line, the emerald skin of her cheeks turning a dark red, looking straight into his blue eyes.
Four months later
Graduation was a couple weeks around the corner and Elphaba couldn't be more excited to start the next chapter of her life, with Fiyero by her side.
She was dressed in one of his sleeping shirts that reached her midthigh, not like he uses them anyways. She was in front of the bathroom mirror, her long, ebony hair dripping slightly from her relaxing shower.
Elphaba turned to her side and pulled her shirt back so it was tight against her stomach. Anyone who didn't know; meaning anyone who wasn't Fiyero, Nessa, Galinda, or Fiyero's parents; would just think she was the slightest bit bloated, but her stomach had begun to accommodate her baby. Her and Fiyero's baby.
Frexspar had thrown a fit when Fiyero and Elphaba had told him about the pregnancy, saying a child, hell, sex out of wedlock was a great sin in the eyes of the Unnamed God. Elphaba had rolled her eyes countless times during that rant, she'd expected this much. But when he'd told Elphaba she would chew milk flowers or abort or else she was disowned, she just about fainted on the spot. Not because of her father's threat, but because of his suggestions. Fiyero had been livid, that much she remembered, she had been in too much or a shock. Nessa had been outraged with their father as well, which had slightly surprised Elphaba, she honestly hadn't known how her little sister would react, being under their father's wing and teaching all her life.
"My love for you is above any damned commandment there is out there, Fabala," she said, "I want you to be happy."
She was glad they had chosen to tell Fiyero's parents, Marilott and Baxiana, after they'd told Frex. The smiles and hugs were exactly what she had needed after that whole ordeal. Fiyero had forced her to take a nap afterwards, saying she needed to calm herself for her own sake and the baby's, besides, they had still had Galinda to tell later that day. Elphaba was convinced her eardrums were still blown out from when the tiny little blonde had squealed in delight and proclaimed herself godmother.
"ELPHIE!" she wrapped her arms around the taller, green-skinned girl. "OH MY OZ! I'm so happy for you two! I knew you had it in you Fiyero! I swear to you I will teach my godchild all about dressing up and make up and-"
"Whoa whoa whoa! Hold your monkeys there, Galinda," Fiyero calmed her. Thank Oz, now if Elphaba could just get her ears to stop ringing, that would be great.
She and Fiyero were renting a small apartment to finish out the school year and then they would move to the Vinkus with Fiyero's parents and begin training for their duties as future rulers. They were also paying for Elphaba's tuition which wasn't much since the year was almost over, but it still took a long talk to convince Elphaba to let them do this for her. Their argument was that she was family, it was no trouble at all.
"Fae?" she heard.
"In here," Elphaba answered, her attention still on her tiny baby bump.
Fiyero came into the bathroom and smiled at the sight. He came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, his hands resting on top of hers on her belly, his shirt getting slightly wet from her still slightly damp hair.
"You hungry?" he asked, he had just gotten back from buying dinner.
"Little bit. Nessa's coming over by the way, she and Boq got into an argument."
Fiyero met her gaze in the mirror. "Again? Hadn't they just made up from one?"
She shrugged. "I don't know. It could be over the same thing, it could be something completely new. Is that ok?" she asked.
"Yeah of course, there's enough food for her too if she hasn't eaten yet either." Elphaba smiled at that. Oh how did she ever get so lucky to have a man as kind as Fiyero?
She turned around in his arms, got on her tiptoes, and planted a firm kiss on his lips.
"I love you, so much," she whispered.
"I love you too," he trailed kisses on her jaw, "more than you'll ever know."
"Can you try and show me?" her eyes fell closed.
He grinned against her throat. "You think we have time?"
The doorbell was his answer.
Elphaba looked at the doorway of the bathroom with a cute pout on her lips. "Later?" she asked with a shy smile.
"Of course, my love." he kissed her lips and they headed towards the door to greet Nessa.
