[I don't own Super Smash Bros, or any other Nintendo and/or Sega series in this fanfic.]
FOREWARN: This will contain Major Spoilers for Sephiroth from Final Fantasy entering Smash Bros Ultimate as Fighter 78. Read at your own risk.
It began with a battle between 8 Inklings on Moray Towers.
Then, we saw a battle with Samus & Ridley on Norfair.
Then a battle of Mario, Luigi, & Bowser on the Omega form of 3D Land.
Then Kirby facing off against Mario, Link, and Pikachu on Battlefield.
And, as we pan out, we see that all these battles were watched on monitors, in a unknown location.
We see a figure looking at something in a room full of robots parts and machinery; on a table, is a open envelope, with a familiar logo.
"Yes..." the figure's voice says. "This new contraption will give me the edge against those fighters."
"And," he added, "I might be able to finally deal with that pathetic blue hedgehog, Sonic, once and for all!"
SOME TIME LATER, IN GREEN HILL ZONE...
Sonic the Hedgehog was racing through the Green Hill Zone loop, and was about to reach the Goal Plate, when suddenly, a missile struck the plate from outta nowhere, destroying it.
"Hey! What gives?" Sonic yelled.
It was then he saw his long time -archenemy, Dr Eggman. And he was in a mech that looked similar to that he used in the bonus battle of Sonic the Fighters, but the body of it was made from Eggman's modern designed Eggpod.
"Now, Sonic," Dr Eggman laughed evilly, "you will finally be destroyed!"
CHARACTER SPLASH: 'DR. EGGMAN COMMENCES BATTLE!'
GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE: [Background Music: 'Egg Dragoon' from Sonic Unleashed]
On Green Hill Zone, Eggman dashed onto the stage in his mech, like how he enters the arena in Sonic the Fighters.
On New Pork City, he punched Ness and Lucas with his mech's claws. then he grabbed King Dedede and slammed him to the ground.
On the Paper Mario stage, Eggman launched homing missiles, which immediately locked on to Cloud, Bayonetta, Enderman, and Bowser Jr, and struck them, exploding on impact. Suddenly, a homing missile struck Eggman from behind. It was revealed to be Kirby, with Eggman's nose, moustache and goggles.
On Midgar, Eggman, wearing a black version of his outfit, with his mech having a grey military camoflauge pattern on it, grabbed Sephiroth, jetted upwards and slammed him down hard to the stage, also clobbering Steve who just so happened to be under him when it happened.
Bowser blew Eggman off the Final Destination Stage with the Gust Bellows, but Eggman used his Eggpod to fly back to the stage, then did a dive, diagonally downwards, claws outstretched, towards Bowser, but at the last second, Bowser dodged, causing Eggman to get his mech's claws stuck in the stage.
Eggman, in his appearance from the Sonic Boom game series, with his mech having a coloration based on his Eggpod from the Sonic Boom game series also, did aerial moves against Jigglypuff and Diddy Kong above Jungle Japes, then, on the Omega form of Tomodachi Life, Eggman did a down Smash move on Sonic, slamming the mech's claws down on him, similar to how a rockstar slams their guitar.
At that moment, Kirby, riding on the Dragoon slammed into him, but then, another mech dropped.
Only this time, this mech was exactly the same one Eggman used in the bonus battle in Sonic the Fighters.
And piloting it, was the Classic counterpart of Eggman - Dr Robotnik!
CHARACTER SPLASH: 'DR. ROBOTNIK RETURNS FROM THE PAST!'
Dr Robotnik charged across Mushroomy Kingdom Omega, and punched Bowser rapidly. Then he jumped outta the way of Min Min's arms.
Then he dived on Ness and Pichu in the Battlefield Version of Magicant.
Then Zelda used her Final Smash on him, and he was sealed away with the Triforce of Wisdom and KO'd.
Suddenly, a missile struck her, knocking her flying.
The missile came from Eggman Nega, the distant descendant of Dr Eggman, who was driving a mech like Eggman's, which was patterned like his Eggpod's colours.
CHARACTER SPLASH: 'EGGMAN NEGA HAILS FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION!'
Eggman Nega grabbed Pichu on Battlefield, and jumped on him, burying him into the ground.
Then he grabbed Enderman and threw him forward with full force.
Then he went into a battle against his distant descendant, on one of his ships in the level 'Egg Fleet' from Sonic Heroes. The cannons fired shots with burst waves, and Eggman's E2000 & E2000R robots fired laser beams.
Then Eggman, after grabbing a Smash Ball and breaking it, teleported off the stage, and appeared in the Death Egg Robot [from Classic Sonic's World] in the background. And, like Bowser's Final Smash, Giga Bowser Punch, he launched a punch with it's extendable arm. it struck Eggman Nega, sending him flying into the horizon.
Eggman prepared his mech, and said, "OK Sonic, time to met you maker!"
Sonic didn't need to be told twice; he sped toward Eggman, and Eggman sped toward him in the mech, then they both leapt, and prepared to attack, but before that thing happened, The screen faded to black, with the copyright info appearing onscreen.

Author's Note:
A seriously awesome chapter, don't you agree?
We certainly need another Sonic character in Smash, don't you think?
Do you think Dr Eggman will be COMING TO SSBU'S FIGHTER'S PASS VOL 2?
