Gird your loins, ladies, you're about to meet Remnant's (self proclaimed) Prince of Rock Roll! Born into a moderately wealthy family, Robyn 'Mars' Loxley was practically born in the... spot...light... Hey, are you sure this is right? This doesn't look like what I had planned out... Ah whatever, I'll try to make it work.
Robyn's father, William, was a Valian dust baron, who while not as successful or well known as the Schnee family, was still a very recognizeable name in the kingdom, known for his more honest business practices and fair treatment of his employees.
Robyn's mother, Jessamine, was a singer in her younger years, until a nearly fatal accident left her singing voice completely ruined. But despite her devastation, she refused to simply let herself slide into depression. She used the contacts she had acquired during her singing days to kick off her own record label, Loxley Records, and has discovered and signed several of the top musicians in the Kingdoms.
Five year old Robyn, after seeing old recordings of her mothers performances, was inspired to take the stage himself, starting out as all young musicians did, in small shows attended by members of his family. It was at one of these family shows that he discovered his Semblance, simply called Acoustic. To put it simply, it converted sound waves into energy to either soothe one's pain, or deal massive damage to his enemy, and to the area around him. He found that out the hard way when, during Acoustic's first appearance, Will Loxley's prized sculpture of the first Huntsman was destroyed by a wayward sound blast.
Since then, Robyn knew his destiny would not just take him on stage, oh no. He had to use his Rock Roll for the good of the Four Kingdoms!! And tonight...
Tonight would be his big debut...
He stood in front of the door leading of to the stage, psyching himself up. He took one last look in the mirror. He was a young man with spikey, fiery red hair with green highlights, and his eyes were an almost sparkling shade of viridian. His attire was flashy and ready to impress, as Robyn always was. He wore a black-and viridian leather vest with a long-sleeve black mesh shirt underneath. He wore fingerless leather gloves and his nails were painted in colors alternating between black and green. He also wore black denim jeans held up by a black belt with a green microphone-shaped belt buckle, and dark green boots. Slung across his back was his guitar, which on one side of the body appeared to be bladed.
"You got this Robyn. You're gonna rock the joint... Your debut is gonna blow their minds." He took one last deep breath. This was it, this was the moment that would kick off his legend as the Rockstar Huntsman.
"Showtime!" He said as he brought his guitar around to his front, kicking down the door as he unleashed a sick guitar solo!
"Good evening!! Who's ready to be blown away by-- HUH?!?!"
The club was a deserted wreck!! The dance floor was shattered, the bar was ruined, the stage couldn't even be called a stage anymore! This was awful!! His big debut was ruined!! How could this have happened?!
CRASH
Robyn snapped out of his stunned state, seeing the club's owner, Junior, getting launched out the front door, with the perpetrator stepping outside after him. Robyn could recognize hair like that anywhere...
"Yang..."
"A long story, she says..." deadpanned Yu. He was now in different attire than when Ruby had found him weeks prior. He now wore a black denim jacket with a fur collar, on the right shoulder was a metallic silver pauldron resembling a wolf's head. Underneath the jacket was a gray armored shirt, and on his arms were a pair of gray leather gauntlets. He also wore black jeans held up by a simple gray belt, and black boots with silver greaves. On the back of his belt hung his new blade, forged by Ruby, and was resting in its sheath, an unremarkable one at that, but the handle was rather ornate with what looked like a trigger mechanism built into it.
Yu and Ruby were on their way home from a specialty store in the city where Ruby would get the more hard-to-acquire parts for her weapon prototypes when the door off to the side suddenly burst open, with an admittedly well-dressed man flying out into the street, to be followed by Ruby's older sister, Yang Xiao Long, casually sauntering out of the club.
"I needed information," explained the blonde brawler, "he had information, he didn't give me the information, so I had to get rough."
Yu sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose in response. "And there's your problem. It never ends well when you get rough."
"That's only because you haven't taken me up on my offer. When I get rough with you, you'll have the time of your life, Narukami~" Said Yang with a wink and a sway of her hips. Ever since Ruby brought him home, the blonde took every chance she got to flirt with the silverette. They were just friends, but Yang would have been more than happy to throw in some 'benefits.' Especially after she 'accidentally' walked in on him in the shower the other day.
Yu sputtered, his face red with frustration and embarassment. The fact that she would just say that outright, in front of her sister! It made him wonder if she had any kind of filter for that sort of thing. In a way, she was probably more dangerous than Rise, and that was saying something!
"Yang, stop flirting and start explaining!" exclaimed Ruby, her own face a faint shade of red. She didn't need to hear her sister boast about how she would sleep with the tiny reapers best friend. Ruby wasn't jealous in any way. She didn't see Yu as anything more than a friend, she was just concerned for the silverette's safety. If Yu ever gave in to Yang's flirting and actually slept with her, Yang and Ruby's dad would kill him and bury his corpse in the garden. "What's so important that--"
"YANG XIAO LONG!!!"
The three turned back towards the doorway, seeing an infuriated Robyn Loxley staring down the blonde brawler, with guitar in hand. "You ruined my big debut!!"
Silence stood for a moment... "Yang, do you know this guy?" asked Yu, his hand slowly reaching behind him towards his weapon.
"I've seen him around Signal a few times. I think his name is Rob, or something like that..."
"It's Robyn! Robyn Loxley! Remnant's future King of Rock Roll! And tonight would have been my big chance to kick off my rise to fame! But YOU.." He exclaimed, pointing the guitar's blade towards Yang. "...ruined my big night by trashing my venue, for whatever reason!!!"
"Oh." Yang said, before realizing what Robyn meant. "Ohhh... Heheh, uh... sorry..."
"Sorry doesn't cut it!" Said Robyn before charging forward, axe at the ready. He swung at the blonde, who caught it between her Ember Celica, kicking the wannabe rockstar away and entering into her fighting stance.
"Should we help her?" asked Ruby, a bit worried for her sister.
"Nah, she made her bed, let her lie in it."
There were so many innuendoes going through Yang's head after hearing that sentence, a pity she had to focus on fending off the angry musician, who had managed to land a blow with his axe against the brawler's side, taking quite a chunk out of her Aura. In an attempt to finish the fight quickly, Robyn decided to bring his Semblance into the fight. The rocker unleashed a barrage of acoustic blasts from his guitar in the best way he knew how, with a kickass guitar solo!! However, Yang, who had seen the Semblance in action in Signal's practice matches, was able to weave her way through the blasts towards her opponent, and when she finally made her way over to him...
POW/BOOM
Yang had punched Robyn in the face just as the rocker unleashed a final kinetic blast into the brawlers stomach. Robyn was sent flying while Yang was knocked back, barely managing to land on her feet.
Robyn kept his hands to his face in both pain and despair. The anger from his ruined debut had been burned away, now all that was left was the sorrow.
"Got it out of your system?" asked Yang, who was now kneeling beside Robyn. The rocker merely nodded as he groaned in anguish. "Good. Look, I'm sorry about your big debut, but I needed Juniors information. When he didn't tell me what he knew, I may have gotten a little... punchy... and I admit I might have went a bit over board."
"You think?" deadpanned Yu from the sidelines, earning an annoyed glare from Yang.
Robyn just sighed as he got to his feet. "No, I should apologize. I shouldn't have lost it like that. It just that I was working towards this for months and to see it in tatters like that, I just..."
"If it's any consolation, you'll have plenty of opportunity for your debut during the Vytal Featival next year when we start going to Beacon."
"Yeah... I suppose."
"Great, all is well that ends well," remarked Yu. "Now can we go home? Taiyang's probably having a panic attack from you two being out this 'late.'" Even though it was only seven p.m. You'd think a guy who taught his daughters how to fight would be a bit less worried about the sisters, but Taiyang Xiao Long would put tracking devices on his daughters given the chance. Actually, he probably did before Yu came along.
"Yeah, we should get going. See you in school, Robyn." said Yang as she, Ruby and Yu took their leave.
Robyn merely looked into the distance as they left. He was still sore, physically and emotionally, but he couldn't let that stop him. Yang was right, there was still the Vytal Festival. The Rockstar Huntsman would have his debut yet! And when the time came, he'd take the world by storm!
And the last trailer is done! We can finally get on to the good stuff!! This trailer was a lot easier to write. With Robyn's whole 'rockstar' motif, it kinda just clicked into my head to tie him into the 'Yellow' trailer.
I also figured I'd throw Yu into the mix as an observer to give you guys a brief look at their dynamic, because of course Yang would take every opportunity to tease Ruby's new friend and, by extension, Ruby. I added that little detail because Persona protags from 3 and onward catch the eye of a lot of girls and can potentially get a harem, to disasterous (and hilarious) results. That's not gonna happen here, though. My version of Narukami is a one-woman guy.
Thanks for reading, stay tuned for the next chapter, and leave a review, would you kindly?
