So it's been a few years since I last tried to do a Christmas story but with the way this whole year has gone, I thought now more than ever it was time for me to do one again. And as I sat alone in my room looking outside to see the world tearing apart around me due to this pandemic I thougt, why not do a take on the Grinch with My Little Pony. It almost made to much sense. But how would I be able to make it different then the three incarnations we already have? Well how about taking all three incarnations, take elements from all three and still add my own little spin to it? And with that, this story was born.
So sit back and enjoy this four chapter mini story and have a very merry Christmas.
Rainbow Dash, and the Pegasus ponies was gathering snow clouds and placing them all around Ponyville, decorating all of Ponyville in a blanket of snow.
"It is that magical time of year," Every Pony in Ponyville sang "Heath's Warming is finally here."
"Got to make it bigger each year, oh yes Hearth's Warming eve is finally here."
"I hope I get every thing I asked for this year," Diamond Tiara sang as she walked into a store with her parents Spoiled Rich and Filthy Rich "because if I don't I will be in tears.
Hearth's Warming Eve only comes once each year,
and I got to make sure I get everything I ask or I gotta wait a whole other calendar year."
"It is that magical time of the year," The whole town sang "Hearth's Warming is finally here."
"Got to make it bigger each year, Hearth's Warming is finally here."
Applejack and Big Macintosh chopped down a giant tree as Fluttershy helped rescue all the birds and other critters in the tree from falling once the tree fell. Big Mac and Applejack both worked together to carry the tree down to the middle of downtown Ponyville.
"Got to find the biggest tree in all of Ponyville." Applejack sang "Got to cut it down and carry it all they downtown which isn't the biggest thrill."
"But when we decorate this tree it will be so unreal. The magic that it will spread will be so super surreal."
"It is that magical time of the year," The town sang "Hearth's Warming is finally here."
"Got to make it bigger each year, Hearth's warming is finally here."
Pinkie Pie came jumping out of Sugar Cube corner carrying a basket filled with Fruitcake for every pony in Ponyville
"Hearth's warming is here let's celebrate, Please come and try some amazing fruitcake."
Pinkie Pie handed one fruitcake to a sad filly whose snow pony accidentally got knocked over by a sled. The kind gift instantly helped cheer the pony up.
"There's no time for a frowny frown, so turn that sad face upside down.
So come on every pony put on a smile, let's spread this seasonal joy for miles.
As we celebrate this joyous time with friends, the ones we will always love to the end."
"It is that magical time of the year," The town sang "Hearth Warming is finally here."
"Got to make it bigger each year, Hearth's Warming is finally here.

Down in Ponyville all ponies big and small was getting ready to celebrate their most favorite holiday on all. For Hearth's warming Eve was just a few days away and ponies were out shopping getting ready for their favorite day. There were signs and sells out at every store making deals for all ponies rich or poor. And their was toys galore for every filly and colt from dolls and stuff toys to action figures of the Wonder Bolts.
And down in the middle of Ponyville was where the prize decoration rest. The Heaths Warming tree, the biggest and best. Pony's from all over the town would bring decoration's big and small, to make this the prettiest tree of them all. Then as the sun rose on Hearth Warming's day the pony's would all gather around the tree. They would gather around and they would all start to sing. Hoof in hoof, with their family and friends, they would celebrate this holiday together and wish that it would never end.
Yes everyone in Ponyville loved Hearth's Warming Eve a lot. But Discord who lived in a dimension outside of Ponyville did not. Why you ask? Nobody really knows for sure. Maybe it was because his head wasn't screwed on just right, maybe it's because his shoes was to tight. But I believe that the biggest reason of all, was because he didn't have a friend to celebrate with at all. So whatever the reason when he woke up every morning Discord just growled as he hated on this season.
End narration
Discord sat on a cloud as he watched the Cutie Mark Crusaders enter a store. Looking through a pair of binoculars Discord just growled to himself as another copy of himself walked up and sat on the same cloud while drinking a cup of coffee.
"Look at all them fools spending their hard earned bits on useless stuff they don't even need."
"It is quite ridiculous I agree" The other Discord said.
"I mean look at that!" Discord handed the binoculars to the other Discord as he pointed down at the shop. "Sweetie Belle there is buying Rarity this super fancy sunhat for the spring and summer weather, a hat that Rarity could probably make all by herself. And Applebloom over their is buying Granny Smith a apple peeler. A APPLE PEELER. Who needs to peel an apple anyway? Just bite into the thing like a normal pony."
"I know right? A third Discord said as he walked up while peeling the skin off the apple. The other two Discords glared at him causing him to go red in embarrassment and put the apple peeler away.
As Discord looked down through his binoculars again suddenly his eyes went wide. "Oh you got to be kidding me?"
"What is it now?" The other two Discords asked.
"Scootaloo is buying Rainbow Dash a special autographed copy of the new Daring Do book signed by A.K Yearling herself. But Rainbow Dash already has a copy of this book. I saw her reading it while she was relaxing on a last week. Rainbow Dash don't need another copy of the same book just because it's autographed by the author herself. Seriously all these ponies are wasting their bits on junk."
"You should do something about this," The third Discord said as he curled up in the clouds, put on some reading glasses and read a copy of the same Daring Do book.
"I will." Discord chuckled. "It's time I add a little chaos to their holiday season." Discord then turned to the third Discord. "By the way I can see what you are reading."
"What? It looked interesting."
Discord just shook his head in annoyance as he teleported down to Ponyville where he saw Rarity and Applejack looking through their shopping list together while walking into a store.
"So you know what you are going to get your family for Hearth's Warming darling?" Rarity asked Applejack.
"Mostly. I know I am getting Granny Smith a new Scarf, her old one is starting to get a little stiff from age."
"Oh please why don't you just have Rarity make her one?" Discord grumbled to himself out of hearing distance.
"I am also thinking about getting Applebloom tickets to Ra Ra's upcoming concert here in Ponyville."
"Oh I bet she will like that," Rarity squealed.
"Still don't know yet what I'm getting Big Mac, he's a bit hard to shop for."
"Well, luckily you have me to help you darling. With the two of us working together I'm sure your going to get our shopping list finished in no time."
"Well I also have several other family members to shop for as well."
"How many are we talking about here?"
"This many," Applejack took out a scroll and unrolled it, showing a list of names so long that it looked like one of Twilight's to do lists. Rarity let out a nervous chuckle before quickly gaining back control of herself.
"Well, not to worry, we will just start one name at a time. Don't worry Applejack Rarity to the rescue."
Discord followed Applejack and Rarity closely, making sure to stay hidden as the two ponies looked through the store.
"Oh, these would be lovely." Rarity pointed Applejack to a display of jewelry and satchels. "We can get one of each of these for all the ladies in your family, that should be able to knock off a good chunk of your list at once."
"You know Rarity, that's not a bad idea."
Discord chuckled to himself as he snapped his fingers. "Now it's time to have some fun."
With the snap of his fingers suddenly all the satchels grew wings and started to fly around the two ponies.
"What? What's going on here?" Rarity gasped.
On top of the satchels, the necklaces became rock candy and the earring's suddenly became onion rings.
"What the tarnation?" Applejack complained as she tried to swat away the satchels flying above her head. As the two ponies struggled to fend off the flying satchels Pinkie Pie suddenly skipped up and noticed the newly transformed rock candy necklaces.
"Oh, that will be a great gift for my sister Maud!" Taking out a couple of bits she laid them down on the counter and skipped away with one of the rock necklaces.
"What?" Discord gasped at what he witnessed with Pinkie. "Well, that was unexpected. Never mind though, it's time to up the chaos!"
Leaving Rarity and Applejack to fend off the satchels. Discord flew up to the clouds and suddenly made it start raining chocolate milk.
"Oh goodie," Pinkie Pie screamed noticing the chocolate milk. "This day just keeps getting better and better!"
"Yes," Discord chuckled, "yes it does."
Snapping his fingers some more, he suddenly turned the tree upside down causing all the decorations to fall off and shatter on the floor. He then went to the post office and caused all the presents being sent to grow wings and start flying away, causing the post office to chase after them.
He didn't stop there though, he went by every house and turned their lights and wreaths into strands of licorice and old wooden chariot wheels. As a final gag he went to Sweet Apple acres and turned all the apples into oranges.
"Oh this is probably my finest work yet," Discord laughed. "Now to get back in time to see the reaction from the Princess." Discord teleported back to downtown Ponyville and munched on popcorn as he watched every pony freaking out.
Applejack had just finished roping up the last of the flying satchels. Muffins was chasing after one of the flying presents and Pinkie was sitting in the middle of the street trying to catch as much of the chocolate milk rain in her mouth as possible.
During the chaos Fluttershy, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash suddenly flew up and watched in horror as the all of Ponyville was going in a panic.
"Oh my," Fluttershy gasped "What is going on here."
"I don't know," Pinkie replied "But it sure is delicious."
"Rainbow Dash," Twilight ordered "You go calm the crowd, I think I know who is behind this."
Twilight suddenly teleported away and reappeared right behind Discord who was laying on a cloud.
"Aha, I knew it!"
"Fine, you got me."
"Fix this now!"
"And why would I do that? This is the most I've been into the Hearth's Warming spirit in decades."
"You are destroying Ponyville."
"You say destroying, I say redecorating."
"Discord Now!"
"Oh fine, but where is your Holiday spirit?!" Discord snapped his fingers and suddenly everything went back to normal.
"Ah man, no more chocolate milk?" Pinkie whined.
"You are no fun." Discord whined to Twilight as he flew away. Shaking her head in disbelief at Discord's actions Twilight rejoined her group of friends.
"Let me guess, Discord?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Who else?"
"Seriously, I don't know why he would dare try to ruin such a joyous time of the year?" Rarity complained.
"You know Discord, he always tries to stir trouble around this time of year. I don't get why Princess Celestia just banishes him to the moon until Hearth's Warming is over."
"Or turn him into stone." Rainbow Dash added.
"Um, maybe I don't understand, but why does Discord hate Hearths Warming so badly." Fluttershy asked
"Who knows?" Rainbow Dash asked. "All I do know is every year Discord tries to pull these stunts on us. I mean I know Discord doesn't have any friends and all, but can he at least try to not ruin this day for the rest of us?"
"Wait? Discord doesn't have any friends?" Fluttershy asked "Oh dear no wonder he is so cranky."
"It's not like any of us has tried to befriend him in the past," Rainbow Dash replied "but he refuses to accept anyone's friendship."
"I find it hard to believe that any pony would just not want to be friends with any pony." Fluttershy replied.
"I know it is hard to believe," Twilight added "But sadly it is the case with Discord, he just doesn't want to make friends or peace with this Holiday.
Spikes Narration
And as Fluttershy heard this her her mind started to race, as she thought about the years of loneliness that Discord must have faced. Go through life without friends, she couldn't stand to think about such a fate, and it made since to her why would hate such a special date. Perhaps if she friended this lord of Chaos maybe she could change his heart. Maybe then he would not have to spend Heath's Warming alone or apart.
