Being a half-blood meant having monsters trail you across a county; it meant no matter how much you hurt, no matter how much you did not want to get up you had to do it because someone else's life might be on the line.

It meant not belonging to any of your parents, it meant being ridiculed by fellow mortals and being used by the gods.
It meant wondering whether this day was finally the one and wishing it was the one.
Being a half-blood is dangerous. It's scary. Most of the time, it gets you killed in painful, nasty ways.
So yeah, Percy Jackson did not want to be a half-blood and he could prove it with his miserable, more-than-likely short life.
He wanted to worry about things like his school life or parents or getting piss drunk, he wanted normal things.
He most definitely did not want to get kicked out of six schools in six years, he did not want a parent who wasn't there when he was getting his lights punched out by said parents replacement.
He did not want to fight to death against beings that came straight out of hell nor did he want to keep doing it again and again and again and again.
He did not want to see fellow cousins and nieces and uncles and the like be murdered while he tried everything he had in his power to stop it.
