Lan Zhan!
You know, it's very hard to write letters to someone who doesn't talk about himself at all! How am I supposed to know what questions to ask you if you say nothing about yourself or circumstances?
Shijie suggested that whenever we think of things we want to tell each other, we should just make a note and jot it down at some point during the day. Then at the end of the week or however long we can just write them all out onto the same scroll and send the whole thing as one letter. What do you think, Lan Zhan?
Shijie also said that if you don't mind how much I talk, since you don't talk much yourself you might be fine with me just sending you a whole bunch of letters whenever I think of stuff I want to tell you, and you can just reply whenever.
So I wanted to ask you - would it be alright if I sent you a letter and some pictures every week or so, and you can just reply whenever you feel comfortable?
You don't need to feel pressured to reply right away, that way. You don't even have to reply to every single letter! Just take it like I'm rambling at you as if I was really there! You can take your time and write me back when you feel like you're ready. You can ignore any of my nonsense that you don't want or know how to reply to, but there will still be enough other material between whatever letters I send for you to work with. I'm not saying much else in this letter because I wanted to send it off straight away to ask you about this. I won't send you anything else until I hear back from you; so please feel free to be as short as you want in your reply, as long as you send it soon! I just want to know what you think of Shijie's idea. Both for the things I want to tell you, and to help you send me longer letters.
(Because Lan Zhan, if I don't get a letter from you that tells me anything about you or your life, I may actually cry. You wouldn't be so cruel to your poor friend Wei Ying, would you, Lan-er-gege?)
I'm including a number of pictures in this; though I was experimenting a bit with different styles and mediums, so I'm not sure how much I like some of them. You'll have to tell me what you think of them and which ones you like best!
Your friend, Wei Ying

Just so you know, I'm going to keep on sending you lots of random pictures of things from Lotus Pier until you tell me to stop. So if you don't like it you need to tell me, Lan Zhan!
I thought you might like a picture of yourself with your brother.
More Lotus Pier scenery! I'm going to keep sending you pictures until you can come see it for yourself!
In case you missed me, here's a picture of me bonding with the bunny.
