Shadow the Hedgehog was sitting by himself in the living room of his home, the fireplace burning as the black hedgehog wore a black turtleneck sweater with stonewashed blue jeans and took a sip from his hot chocolate as he stared at the fire coming from the fireplace.
"Aaaah, this is the way I like to celebrate my Christmas every year...Alone and peaceful..." Shadow sighed in satisfaction.
Suddenly, the black hedgehog could hear a female voice giggling. "Isn't that quite a boring way to spend your Christmas~?" He could hear behind him as he turned to see Rouge the Bat sitting in the window frame of an open window in his living room.
"What are you doing here, Rouge...?" Shadow sighed once again.
Rouge giggled as she hopped down from the window frame and closed the window before walking up to the black hedgehog, hugging him. "I didn't want you to spend Christmas alone this year like you usually do, so here I am~! Surprise~!" The white bat said to the black hedgehog.
"Rouge, you know very well that I don't like to have company over during Christmas..." Shadow said to her, annoyed that his peaceful and lonely Christmas was being disturbed by Rouge.
Rouge giggled a little bit more. "Awwww, look who's grumpy during Christmas as usual~. Don't worry, I've got a little something that might change that~." She said as she held up a dvd of Batman Returns. "Look, it's your favorite Christmas movie~! Ain't I the most thoughtful person on Mobius~?" She asked the black hedgehog.
Shadow blinked a few times before sighing. "Okay, you do know my taste in Christmas movies well...Alright, how about this? If I watch Batman Returns with you, will you leave me alone afterwards?" He suggested to the white bat.
Rouge smiled at that. "You've got a deal, Shad~." She said as she kissed the black hedgehog's forehead before she put the dvd into Shadow's dvd player and sat down in the chair next to the black hedgehog's chair as the movie began to play. "By the way, Shad...Could you make me a mug of hot chocolate as well~?" She asked with a giggle.
Shadow sighed. "Fine..." He said as he got up from his chair and went to the kitchen to make the white bat a mug of hot chocolate as well. Once the mug of hot chocolate was done, he returned to the living and handed the mug of hot chocolate to Rouge. "Here..." He said before sitting back down in his chair again.
"Thank you, Shad~. I feel like such royalty getting my wish granted like that~." Rouge giggled before sipping from her hot chocolate before she and Shadow began to watch the movie. As the movie continued, Shadow got more and more comfortable with Rouge's company. Then, once the movie was finished, Rouge took it out of the dvd player again and put it back in the dvd box.
"Well, we watched Batman Returns together, so I'll be taking my leave now, just like you asked. Merry Christmas, Shad. Hopefully I'll see you again in the new year. Toodles~!" The white bat told Shadow as she opened the window again and was about to fly away.
"Hey, wait." Shadow said as Rouge turned to look at him. "I...actually want you to stay a bit longer." He told the white bat.
"Hm, hm, hm, hm~. What's this~? The moody black hedgehog has a soft side~?" Rouge giggled a little bit as she closed the window again.
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't...Ah, who am I kidding? Yes, I do have a soft side...But only around people such as yourself. When it comes to that cobalt blue faker Sonic, I'm tough as a bull moose, but around people like you...I can be more gentle." Shadow told Rouge.
"Really, huh~?" Rouge asked, being surprised, to say the least.
"Yeah..." Shadow said as he surprisingly cracked a smile, something he doesn't do very often. "I've never felt more alive during Christmas...So thanks for that..." He told the white bat before he gave her a kiss on the lips.
Once Shadow pulled away from Rouge, the white bat sighed happily. "Thank you, Shadow...I've been waiting for ages for this..." She told the black hedgehog lovingly.
"I'm glad I was able to please you...Just like you were able to please me..." Shadow smiled more as he gave Rouge another kiss on the lips, wrapping his arms around her back while Rouge wrapped her arms around Shadow's neck.
