-So, how do I look? – Bucky asked entering without knocking Steve's rooms at Tchalla's palace. They had given him a new arm, and he just put it on.

-Like you are about to do something stupid – Steve was sitting on his bed reading. It was an old and dusty book which probably came from the box next to his bed. At a glance Bucky noticed it was filled with old and dusty stuff

-What are you reading? – Barnes asked looking at the poor book. He was afraid of it disintegrating in front of his eyes.

-The Little Prince – Steve said without lifting his eyes from the book – Birthday present remember?

-I do remember. It's always been easy to buy you presents – Bucky said shrinking his shoulders – You're a bit of a nerd, so a book will do

-True -Steve said smiling – But I wasn't expecting to get an original copy from a book publish three months before my birthday

-It wasn't a big deal – Bucky said moving his hand to downplay the gesture. The book was actually rather expensive, and he had taken several extra shifts to be able to afford it – The girl at the bookstore was nice to me, so I got a discount.

-I'm sure you did – Steve laugh and went back to the book

-What else did you get in here? – Bucky said looking at the book – Besides dust

-Don't hate, those things are important to me – Steve told him, and he tried to move the box away

-Oh! come on, pal. After 100 years you are going to hide the box from me – Bucky laugh. He was ready to thousands of photos and letters from Peggy.

He saw the opposite, there were photos of the two of them when they were kids. A photo of Steve's parents, some more old books (Bucky noticed that at least half of them were presents from him to Steve) and a baseball glove

-I'm surprised this is still alive – Bucky said pulling out of the box the glove – It looks almost new

-That's because I only used it one – Steve stood up from the bed, recovered the box and put it on his desk

-Why? I got it so you could play baseball again – Bucky said

-I know – Rogers told him smiling – That's why it is special for me.

-The years have made you sentimental, Rogers – Bucky said looking him in the eyes. Steve gave her a sad smile and look away – Are you Ok?

-Yeah, it's just….I imagined my life so different to this – Steve said

-I know the feeling, pal – Bucky said coming a step closer and grabbing his shoulders – One last fight, we just need to make it alive

-I don't know if we will – Steve said

-Then, we should enjoy our last day on earth -Bucky insisted trying to make Rogers smile

-I don't know, Buck – Steve said looking up to meet his eyes. Bucky was still a little taller than him – what would you do if you knew you'd die soon?

Both remained silent, looking at each other's eyes. Rogers had a point, they will most likely die soon, so why not? Bucky thought, even if Steve just pushed him away and hate him. It will be worth it

Slowly Barnes closed the distance between him and cupped Steve's face with his flesh hand. The Winter Soldier would have sworn that Rogers closed his eyes when his lips met.

With his metallic arm he pulled the blonde man closer to his body, making the kiss even deeper. He has loved Steve since he was 20 years old, and finally was able to show him all his feelings in one kiss. When air became a necessity the break appart

-I…I…mmm…I'm sorry – Bucky murmured trying to move away. He was nervous of Steve's reaction, but he pull him closer to him again

-I am not – Steve whispered – How long?

-How long what? – Barnes asked

-How long have you felt this way? – Rogers explained

-Since I was twenty – Bucky said flushing, he could feel the heat in his face. Steve smiled and remained quiet for a few moments

-I've felt this way since I was fifteen- Rogers finally confessed. Bucky just kissed him again, this time it was a slow and sweet kiss. He wanted to memorize every second of it

-I love you – The Winter Soldier whispered once they broke the kiss again. He was resting his forehead in Steve's

-I love you too, Buck – Captain America said in return
