Author's Note

(Damn, it's been awhile, huh? Been like… three months and I apologize, truly I do, and I have some somewhat bad news. Lost to the Zone and Pointy Shotgun Man are on hold currently since Writer's Block can go fuck itself sometimes. Well, during this hold I may have gotten obsessed with Destiny 2, and a bit near the end of Season of Arrivals, so I had to dash my way through three whole fucking campaigns, and the one that stuck to me was… Curse of Osiris of all things, more specifically, The Infinite Forest. So I've finally recently thought of an idea, "Wouldn't it be cool if there was… an Infinite Forest type of situation on Remnant?"

So, this Prologue of sorts will be me dipping my toes into the water so to speak, seeing what you guys and gals think of it, I hope you Enjoy.)

Prologue: Discovery

It was just your… average day for the Huntress Team known as RWBY, with the Leader Ruby Rose, with Black and Red hair, silver eyes, and a…red cloak? Cape? Screw it, I'm calling it a Cloak, and quite the nice Red and Black clothing choice, she was also wielding Crescent Rose, a .50 Cal Sniper Scythe hybrid. Behind her was her three teammates, Weiss Schnee, the team proclaimed "Ice Queen," with a scar over one of her eyes, a white and red color style, a Rapier Revolver called Myrtenaster and her… rather sometimes stuck up attitude, it's a goddamn mystery how this team works together at times, but they just do, much like Skyrim and modding scene. Anyways, next we got Blake Belladonna, with Amber Eyes, a bow on her head, and a Pistol Katana.. thing called Gambol Shroud in her holster, she was a rather good fit for the team.

Finally we have the Blonde Bombshell, Yang Xiao Long, Half-Sister to Ruby Rose, having a rather PUNNY personality, and wielding some shotgun gauntlets known as Ember Cecila, and I get the feeling if a regular person tried to use them they would dislocate their arms and/or shatter their wrist bones. Now with slight introductions out of the way, let's get to describing the scene, they were in the Emerald Forest, the green leaves slightly blocking the sun, and hey look, looks like Blake is about to speak up.

"...Seems we're nearing the source of the strange signal, although we're seeing nothing but trees here, Ruby any thoughts?" That would break Ruby out of the slight trance she was in for the time being, her saying to Blake, "O-Oh, uh… yeah it's strange, never seen anything like it." She would say, her normally cheery personality was one replaced with a more nervous tone, this catching Yang's attention. "Hey, it's gonna be alright sis, sooner we get this over with, sooner we can head back to our dorm." Yang would say, trying to calm her sister a bit, which works!

"Thanks, Yang." Ruby would simply say as they would close in on the signal, revealing a… rather foliage covered cave, only being noticed by Blake at first. "Look over there, a cave." Blake would point out, using one of her hands to point to it, her other drawing her weapon in case things got a little messy involving the Creatures of Grimm, the others soon following with unfolding, extending, and generally just drawing their weapon. Ruby would slowly begin to approach the cave, of which upon further inspection… wasn't made of the ground, but rather strange metal architecture.

Yang would stay close to Ruby, the two Sisters going head first into the cave, the strange architecture getting even weirder with a slight descent, eventually revealing what appeared to be… a white waterfall with a pool of strange sparking fluid. "...Ruby, no." Weiss would speak up, saying that to Ruby to try to persuade her into NOT jumping into the almost milk like fluid. Ruby would pout, eventually continuing the descent before coming across some… strange foliage covered beings, orange metal made up most of the body, what appeared to be a singular eye, and a soft center that had the same fluid as the waterfall, Yang saying. :"Seems to me they're having a nap… it would be rather unfortunate if someon- ow, sorry, sorry." Her poking of the so-called sleeping bear was stopped by a punch in the arm from Weiss, who said to her in a rather serious tone.

:"This is no time for jokes, Yang." She would say, keeping calm about this… whole situation in all honesty, the team eventually continuing on, seeing more of these hibernating robots, eventually ending up at a rather dark room with the only light sources being the light from the previous room and a strange plate, that white energy going through it. "...You thinking what I'm thinking, Rubes?" Yang would say to her sister, who would nod, the both of them heading to the plate while Blake would say… "I think this is the room that the signal originated from… mostly due to the fact that my Scroll is currently on the fritz right now." Blake would say as the sisters would step on the plates, lighting the room up with a blue glow, revealing a triangle portal frame… which quickly powered up, revealing a blue portal of sorts, in the 15 year old eyes of Ruby this was awesome, hell even Weiss was a bit at awe at this, before straightening herself up to say.

"I suggest we head back for the time being, explore at a later da- WOAH!" Weiss would be interrupted by Ruby yoinking her via her speed semblance, heading into the portal. "...We should probably follow them, Yang, make sure they don't get hurt, or worse… Weiss calls her dad's lawyers." Blake would say, attempting to add a bit of humor at the end, earning a laugh from Yang, the both of them entering the portal next to reveal… more strange and now stone structures, at least the way up was… somewhat normal, with stairs heading up, the triangle portal behind them. "...You dolt, why did you think that was a good idea?" Weiss would say, rubbing the bridge of her nose a bit as Ruby would shrug, saying to Weiss with a childish smile, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?"

Weiss would just rub the bridge of her nose harder before looking up to see a… stunned Ruby, which peaked the curiosity of Weiss, who would look at where Ruby was looking, also becoming stunned as… she saw an absolutely MASSIVE place in front of her eyes, large pillars holding up what appeared to be the crust of the planet, hell she couldn't even see the end of it due to fog. Blake and Yang would quickly follow soon after, the whole… team shocked at this honestly beautiful sight under a certain light. After a minute of stunned silence, Ruby would say one last thing… "I suppose we should… head back now, guys." The Team agreed, turning their back on the view, although that wouldn't stop Ruby from being… infatuated by the sight, just what has she and her team stumbled across..? A question for another day I suppose…

Meanwhile, back at the cave…

As soon as the plate activated…. The machines within the cave slowly but surely came to live, their eyes slowly turning Red, signifying their activation… I suppose Team RWBY's going to be in for quite a surprise, I suppose.
