It had been a few days, and Haru had started to be around everyone again. Gokudera had kept his promise to her to not say anything to other's. She was still processing the lost of her father; she had taken the last few days off school, but it was time to go back. She kept her cellphone on her as what will happen to her would be coming soon. She was also unaware of what the funeral arrangements would be. She got to the school and said hi to everyone before going to her own class.
By lunch she had heard nothing and was staring at her phone on the roof. She knew the others were eating, but she wasn't hungry and just handed Gokudera her bento. He doesn't eat enough as it was.
"Haru, are you sure you're not gonna eat." She looked up to see Kyoko sitting as close as she could to Tsuna-kun. She shrugged her shoulders.
"Not hungry." Haru looked back at the phone, when she heard Kyoko sigh.
"At least sit with us instead on the edge of the roof." Haru quickly looked over everyone's worried faces, and decided to join them. That was when her phone ring and she drove for it, because of this it went into the air a bit and she struggled to grab it. The next thing she knew, people yelled her name and grabbed her ankles as she finally grabbed the phone and answered. She felt her friends pull her back over the edge.
"Yes, hello."
"Hello Miss. Miura. I am calling to inform you of the legal decision made by your family."
"Yes, what was it." She listened to what the lawyer had to say, before hanging up. That was when she realized she was standing on the roof with some very upset friends.
"Haru, are you kidding me." Mad Kyoko was never pleasant, quickly looking over everyone else, Gokudera was the only one who wasn't upset. "A phone isn't important enough to risk your life over, and whoever called could have waited."
Haru looked at Gokudera, because she needed to talk but hasn't told anyone else. So she was gonna talk.
"The decision came in." She saw him nod his head for her to continue.
"I am officially on my own, also apparently there won't be a funeral, but I get to stay. They basically found a loophole where I get to stay but they don't have to do anything." Her hand tightened around her skirt, she knew something was gonna happen, but she didn't expect it to hurt so much. She smiled a bright smile, and said she had to go.
There were documents she had to sign, in order for everything to be legal and she was told they needed to be signed now.
After Haru left, Tsuna looked to one of his best friends Gokudera Hayato.
"What don't we know, Gokudera?" Gokudera shifted on both his feet, wanting to go after the woman who just left.
"Her dad passed away a few days ago, and her extended family hates her. It sounds like they just abandoned her, but there's a loophole that prevents her from entering the foster system. Also sounds like her father isn't getting a funeral." He looked at his boss almost pleading like.
"She asked me not to say anything when I found her in the music room. She said she wasn't ready yet to talk about it"
Tsuna nodded his head, as approval to leave. Gokudera left quickly hunting for Haru, but Haru was already gone. He decided school wasn't worth it and went looking for her around town.
He couldn't help wondering how she left the school so quickly. It felt like it took him forever to find her but she wasn't actually that far away. He reached out for her and pulled her close to his chest. He couldn't make out what exactly he was feeling, his body seemed to be moving on his own. All Gokudera knew was that he needed her close to him. What he wasn't expecting was her attempting to get away, so he let her go.
"Hihi, Hayato! You should have said something. I thought someone was trying to kidnap me." He could help laughing, and she couldn't help laughing with him. She got closer to him and hesitated, he wasn't sure what her plan was. All he knew right in that moment was that he was irritated that she wasn't closer, he just wanted to gap between them. So he did just that and pulled her close, before pushing her back a little and looking at her.
"Wait did you just call me Hayato?" He felt his face warm and the memory of his name on her lips, and he could see her blushing a bit. She nodded her head and he decided to hide his face in her hair so she couldn't see his face.
"Hayato, I have to go sign some legal documents." She shuffled a bit closer to him. "I have to go."
He didn't want to let go of her, but did so and let her go.
"Your family is shitty by the way." Haru made a face.
"No. I have the best family, and I picked them." She had a small but real smile on her face and he loved it.
