Three big marine ships are spotted moving fast towards Thousand Sunny. Usopp alarmed everyone from the crow's nest and all moved quickly to prepare for counterattack. Then the marines started firing cannon balls at them.
Franky launched mini missiles from his body and pulverized the targets. Brook sliced the cannons that Franky missed and Chopper, with knowledge in karate, bounced anything that would hit the ship to the sea.
Usopp attacked the marines by redirecting the cannons back with his new improved ammunition and Robin, who is still in isolation, would help from time to time by catching and catapulting cannons with her sprouted limbs on the ship. Jinbei took over the wheel beside Nami and kept them at bay.
Hearing the noises from Den Den Mushi, Sanji told Nami to be careful. He wanted to assure her of their quick return but, sensing the dangerous strength of their enemy, he turned to ask Luffy for permission to make Sunny leave and regroup with allies. He stopped however upon seeing Luffy touch the big scar in his chest and demanded with a sour face.
"We have to go back!"
Luffy pounded the wall and dust scattered the area. He slinged himself out of the saloon but was tackled by a flash of light and pinned down by gravity.
'Luffy!" The two exclaimed.
Luffy stretched his leg to kick the enemy but the gravity pulled further, deepening the crater around him, which made him lose breath and unconsciously retracted his leg.
The flash of light came back again and it was Sanji who got dragged out, pierced through the other side of the destroyed wall.
"Cook!"
It was unexpected for them to soon face the admirals, second highest rank in marines, with the Kaido cleanup and the covid crisis.
These admirals are no stranger. They have encountered them before and knew their capabilities. Kizaru, a devil fruit user who controls light, is a merciless opponent they haven't defeated yet. Fujitora, a devil fruit user who controls gravity, is a person they could reason with but is still a marine that pirates should fear.
Zoro, with dimmed eyes looking straight to Fujitora, took out his three swords, leaned forward with arms stretched to the sides then dashed off. He slashed the air but Fujitora blocked them with ease.
Fujitora let Zoro go near and even let Luffy try to land a kick or a punch but he would just avoid them, resulting in trails of smashed pavements.
Seeing how Fujitora played, Kizaru shot a few light beams on Zoro. It hit Zoro's leg and then he knelt. It was Kizaru's way of expressing his thinning patience in ending the mission quickly as they have other targets to hunt.
Fujitora pinned Zoro with gravity. However, Zoro is not going down without a fight and slashed Fujitora with all his might using kyutoryu. Not only did Zoro escape from the unusual force of gravity, it also made a few scratches. Fujitora defended himself with the rubbles using them as a shield and as a platform to fly away.
"Don't waste your energy on this fight. We are only here to take blood samples from Luffy for Covid vaccine research. Then we'll let you go. You have my word."
"I don't believe you!" and, Zoro leaned forward, positioning for the next attack.
Just before Zoro could swing his sword, a burning Sanji hit the ground hard in front of him and spat out blood. Kizaru purposely blocked Zoro's chance to attack.
"ooooo a very slippery fish I caught." Kizaru slowly said as he appeared beside Fujitora.
"Let's finish this...ne~" Kizaru threw 3 tranquilizers into the air and Fujitora quickly injected the three.
He was silent with Zoro's words in mind while watching them fall asleep. To be in a blind mission, like in Dressrosa, in the pretense of covid research is not something to be proud of.
There are a lot of ways to get samples. The marines and prisons have enough devil fruit users. Though there could be significant differences with specific devil fruits too. He could do nothing else but observe.
