Small as heck drabble that's been in my mind, made this separate since it doesn't feel fitting to the Blue Jacketed Shenanigans

Small snowflakes rain upon the region, covering the land in a blanket of white. The cold winter air blows, dancing the flakes around in the air before landing on the ground.

Nate stares ahead at the Lookout, covered in his winter attire to stay warm for the weather, mindlessly gazing about the scenery from the platform. A small frosty breath left his mouth as he exhales, taking in the frosty air and gently rests his weight on the railings, Nate closes his eyes to enjoy the smell and the sound of frozen nature.

Soon after, footsteps are heard coming up the Lookout, getting louder the closer they get. A familiar voice called him out of his haze, "there you are." Nate doesn't turn around, he merely opens his eyes and continues to watch the scenery, following the pattern of flying snowflakes across the sky. The person came closer, standing beside Nate and giving him a pat on the shoulder, "I rarely see you just staying quiet, what're you doing up here?" Hilbert said, giving Nate a look, in which the latter returns with a glance before going back to snow watching, "Nothing really, just...enjoying winter wonderland."

Hilbert's gaze follows Nate onto the scenery he's been watching, looking over the snowy trees and the frozen lake, the somewhat grey sky and the mountains looming in the background. Hilbert puts his arms down on the railing as well as the two watches in comfortable silence before Nate spoke up, "You were searching for me?"

"Somewhat, just making sure you're not creating trouble like you usually do." Hilbert said back, getting a small snicker from the boy beside him.

He continued, "Can't believe it's almost new year already, time passes by fast when you don't pay attention." Nate looks up at Hilbert again and the latter returns the look, "Do you have any new year resolution yet?"

Nate answered with a shrug, "No, not really, I probably won't follow it by the second month anyways." The older chuckles a bit at the response, "Yeah, you definitely won't."

"How about you?"

"Same, to be honest. I'll probably think of one before then."

Nate shrugs back as Hilbert stood up straight, patting Nate's hair and messing his hair before walking towards the stairs to the lookout. "Come on, let's go back inside and warm ourselves up, I'll make some hot choco if you want." The younger one perks up and starts running towards the older one who's already making his way down the steps.

Alternate ending would be Hilbert putting his arms around Nate and coming closer to him while Nate rests his head on Hilbert's shoulder and they just continue watching the view.
