The next day, Meredith along with Maggie and Jonathan entered Grey-Sloan Memorial. Bailey had officially granted Jonathan privileges for as long as he was in Seattle. As they entered the hospital, and the elevator doors opened and Jo came out of it in a hurry.

"Jo! What's going on?" Meredith asked worried.

"He... He is here." Jo whimpered.

"Who?" Maggie asked.

"A... Alex."

"Oh God! I'm sorry Jo. I didn't think he was serious about coming here." Meredith apologised. She had completely forgotten about her brief phone call with him the day before.

"It's... It's alright. He is your best friend, Meredith." Jo forced a smile and left the hospital building.

"Who is Alex?" Jonathan asked, confused.

"As she said, my best friend." Meredith answered.

"Did he hurt you?" Jonathan asked.

"Alex can never hurt me." Meredith said, as they rode up the elevator.

"Are you sure?" He pressed, still a bit skeptical seeing the other surgeon's exit.

"Listen, I get that you're my half-brother, but one, you have known me for less than 24 hours, there are a lor of things that you don't know about me. Got it? Two, I am elder to you, you know that, so stop your over-protective brother BS." Meredith half-shouted and went ahead of the group.

Jonathan was taken aback by the harsh words. He certainly hadn't expected that. They went to teh nurse's station where he saw Meredith embracing a stranger.

"That's Alex." Amelia whispered. "Mer's best friend."

"Don't take her reaction personally, she had a worse one when she first met me." Maggie added. "Growing up with Ellis wasn't easy on her."

"Alex was part of the first real family she had." Amelia said.

"Oh God! I need to apologise, don't I?"

"Yup."

"Listen, Meredith.." Jonathan said as he approached the two best friends. "Im sorry. I shouldn't have judged."

"Yeah. you shouldn't have." Meredith replied. "Alex, Jonathan. Jonathan, Alex." She introduced the two.

"Nice to meet you." Jonathan said, extending his arm for a shake. Alex did the same. "How did Webber react?" Alex asked the three ladies.

"Shit!" Maggie exclaimed as they looked at each other with wide eyes.

"Who is Webber?" Jonathan asked.

"Umm... your father." Maggie whispered. Jonathan was speechless for a moment. "Does my entire biological family work here? As the name is Grey-Sloan, I'm guessing Ellis Grey worked here too."

"Mom did do her residency at this hospital. But it isn't named after her." Meredith replied. Seeing that Jonathan was about to ask another question regarding the name, "Long story for another time." Meredith said.

"Let's see if Richard is awake." Amelia suggested.

"What do you mean?" Jonathan asked.

"Umm... Richard had a hip surgery couple of weeks prior. His hip had a cobalt joint which caused cobalt poisoning." Meredith explained. The way to the recovery wing.

"Hey, Grey. I heard you met your brother yesterday." Said Hayes as he came across teh group.

"Who is this?" Asked Alex.

"This Dr. Cormac Hayes. The Chief of Paediatric Surgery." Meredith said.

"Cristina sent him." Amelia sent from behind. Realisation set upon Alex as to who this man was.

"What?" Hayes asked.

"Nothing." Meredith said, eyeing Amelia strictly.

"Who is Cristina?" Jonathan asked.

"My person, apart from Alex." Meredith said.

"Head of the Klauffman Institute in Zurich." Hayes added.

"Wow! You guys are some surgeons!" Jonathan exclaimed. The group entered Richard's room.

"Meredith, Maggie, Amelia. Alex! How are you?" Richard exclaimed.

"I should be asking you that." Alex replied.

"Fit as a fiddle. Can't wait to leave this place." Richard said.

"I'm sure," Meredith smiled.

"Who are you?" Richard asked looking at Jonathan.

"Umm... Richard, he is... he is your son." Maggie said.

"What?" Richard asked confused.

"He is my twin. Ellis and your son." Maggie added.

"He came to Grey-Sloan yesterday, finding Maggie." Amelia added.

"Hi!" Jonathan said awkwardly. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling good." Richard said. The others looked at each other and quietly excused themselves out of the room.

Meredith and Alex went up to her office to catch up. "How is Izzie, and the kids?"

"Izzie is fine. The kids are amazing. Mer, I can't even begin..." Alex said.

"I can understand. Do you feel any sort of anger or something towards her for not telling you all these years?" Meredith asked.

"At the beginning, I did have that question, but when I went there, stayed with them... I kind of understood." Alex replied.

"That's good." Mer smiled.

"How is Jo?" Alex asked softly.

"You can't ask that anymore." Meredith said.

"I know.. God, Mer. Nothing else would have made me leave her, but they were my kids. How do I not go to them?" Alex said.

"I understand. I'm not happy about it, but I understand." Meredith said, putting a comforting hand over his.

"How are you?" Alex asked.

"I'm fine." Meredith replied.

"Yeah, right." Alex scoffed.

"No, really. I mean, third time's a charm." she joked. Alex laughed alongside her too. They were interrupted by a knock on the office door. Meredith moved to open the door, and saw that Jonathan was on the other side.

"Maggie and Amelia both have surgery and the nurses told that Richard needed to rest." HE explained.

"Come on in." Meredith smiled.

"So, what are your plans?" Alex asked him.

"Uh, I guess I will talk to your Chief of Surgery, maybe for a temporary position in Neuro... see how it goes." Jonathan said. "If that's fine it you?" HE asked Meredith.

"Of course." Meredith said. "I would like to get to knwo you better too."

"Yeah, same. I love the dynamic you three have." Jonathan said referring to Meredith, Maggie and Amelia.

"It took some time but, we're in a good space now. I depend on them for a lot. Especially with the kids." Meredith said. "I would love to introduce you as their uncle if you want." She asked.

"I would like nothing more." Jonathan smiled and the three doctors made their way to the cafeteria to catch up with Maggie and Amelia.
