"Ben so I've been thinking"
"That's a good thing to do. But what have you been thinking sweetheart"
"Well I know it's kind of late but, what if I have Dani at home?"
"You mean like an at home birth."
"Yes a water birth to be specific."
"I want to do whatever will be most comfortable for you babe. You know I'm going to support you no matter what"
Miranda was now 8 months and with only four weeks ahead of her this decision was definitely short notice.
She would have to find a doula and a midwife in four weeks but she knew she could do it
"Ok great I already have a doula in mind so hopefully this will be an easy transition"
"Mhm"
Miranda's phone rang
"Hey mama"
Miranda walked out of her bed room towards tucks bedroom he should've been sleep then she walked to dani's room and sat in the rocking chair
"How are you baby"
"I'm doing fine how are you and daddy?"
"We are doing great just waiting on our granddaughter"
"She's gonna be here before we know it" Miranda rubbed her stomach
"Are you excited?"
"I am so excited we all are."
"Ben is going to be a great dad Miranda."
"I know he makes all of this so easy"
"Do I now" Ben said while coming around the corner
"Why are you spying on my conversations"
Ben looked around "last time I checked this was my house too"
She rolled her eyes
"Tell your mom I said hello"
"I'll think about it"
Miranda's mom laughed at their banter
"Well baby let me go it's past my bedtime I just wanted to check on you"
"Ok mom have a good night I love you"
Ben pulled Miranda from her chair and embraced her
"I love you so much it's crazy"
She looked at him "if you really love me will you go to the store and get me some strawberry ice cream and marshmallows"
Miranda had been having intense cravings of strawberry ice cream it's like they could never keep enough in the house
"Mhmmm I don't know if I love you that much"
She pouted
"Miranda it's 10 pm"
She continued to pout and it made him feel bad
"Fine" he kissed her "I'll be back in 10 I love you"
Miranda took this time to find some well known midwives in her area and also researched more about home births
When Ben returned they sat in bed and watched reruns of Christmas movies that they were playing for the 25 day count down on abc
After they had watched enough tv Ben clicked the tv off
He rolled over and started whispering to her stomach
"I can't wait to see you baby girl I love you so so much already and you are already so spoiled"
She moved in Miranda's stomach
"What are you saying to her Benjamin Warren"
"Miranda Bailey this is daddy daughter time"
She shook her head
He continued to whisper
"Anyways baby girl we are so ready for you to come and between me and you I wouldn't mind if you came a little bit early either good night honeybun" he kissed her stomach then kissed Miranda's head
"So what were you telling her"
"I can't tell you it's a secret"
"Benjamin Warren you do the absolute most you know that"
"Yeah yeah now go to sleep babe we need all the sleep we can get before Dani comes"
Miranda turned over and Ben cuddled next to her falling into a deep sleep
