Okay, I forgot to add this last time, but Fujin's usual outfit is the grey, blue, white one from MK11 without those tattoos. Substitute it for the other one that says "wind" / "kaze," which is in the other skin available for him. That is the default one. I will say if it the other tattoos are present. P.S. Why is Fujin so beautiful?
Teoitotia's POV:
Two Months Later, Age 40
Surprisingly, it has been quiet. Naturally, I have been suspicious. I was in denial; I didn't want there to be another crisis. It was a bit past mid-day and I was in my garden, sitting on a mat, thinking. I felt Fujin's footsteps as he approached me from behind.
"Anything urgent?" he asked.
"Mm mm." He moved around me and crouched down to meet me at eye level. Before he could speak again, I said, "We should do something relaxing."
"What would you like to do?"
"I don't know. I just don't feel like going out."
"Have you tried creating pottery?"
"I don't want to clean up messes today."
"Philosophizing?"
"Too much thinking."
"You love to think."
"Not today."
"Painting?"
"I don't want to do that."
We stared at each other. He finally asked, "What do you want to do?" He smiled. "If you can't think of anything, I have something in mind."
"Ayooo," I said in a scolding tone. Something came to mind and I smiled. "Would you accept my challenge in a game of patolli (mesoamerican board game)? Do you know how to play?"
"Hm. No."
I explained the rules to him and then I warned him, "But there is betting involved. Usually, six things are bet." I smiled widely. "You can even pledge eternal servitude to me."
He smiled. "Isn't that what I did when I married you?"
I growled and bumped my spirit a bit forceful with his. I went back to smiling. "We can get very creative with these bets. Although, materialistic items aren't as risky to lose in our case."
He grinned even wider. "I can think of a few things."
I thought to myself, I can only imagine. "What do you say? We can run a quick game with no betting."
"I'm all for it." I stood up to go grab my mat of patolli, a bag with five black beans, and two bags of ceramic disks. The disks were painted so they can be distinguished. I came back, set up the game and two short stools, and went over what a typical game looked like. After that, he said with confidence, "I'm ready."
"How many items are we betting? Since this is a teotzin vs the next tlatoani, we have to bet big."
"How many would you say is best?"
"If we bet big, then one or two. Actually, there's not much to bet on our ends, so you can wish for something. What is your first condition?" I leaned in with interest.
He was hiding a really big smile. I thought, Oh great ancestors, what is he thinking? In a low, confident voice, he said, "Sex for as long as we can go, wherever and whenever the winner chooses."
I leaned back immediately in surprise. That wasn't a very big bet, but it was very unexpected."Isn't that a win for both?" I squeaked.
"The setting matters, my love," he purred.
Oh, we can get creative with that. I hesitated, but to make him happy, I said, "Fine. I assume this would not occur during important matters?"
"Of course."
I turned away from him. Just thinking about it made me squirm and blush a bit. I saw out of the corner of my eye as he grinned at my reaction. I said firmly, "Ayo! Stop. Let me think." What could I bet? Aya... I turned to look at him. "A time set for song and dance. The winner can decide which position they would like to take or terminate this condition completely." Fujin was fine with all the dancing and singing that happens around him, but he never participates. My family and I have tried to pull him in plenty of times, but he gets all polite (and shy).
Now he hesitated. "Fine."
"Then we have a deal, my love." I picked up the beans and handed them to him. "You can go first."
He took them. "Quite risky of you."
In a low tone, I said, "You might think that."
He tossed the beans. He picked up a disk of his and moved it along. As we were playing, we had serious faces. This game required strategy and luck. I know that he wanted to win. If he did, he didn't have to sing or dance. If I won, I would be the happiest spirit alive.
...
I had three of my disks off the board and needed one more, which was falling behind. Fujin had two off and needed two more that were just starting to turn around. The next time I tossed, the beans, I twisted my wrist. I moved four spaces. I needed to get out of the center, or he could send me back. He tossed them and got one. He moved a disk towards the center. I felt his frustration and I covered my smile. The next time I rolled the beans, I got two, so I moved two spaces. Almost there... We took turns rolling and before he could get a chance to get rid of his third piece, I removed my last one. I no longer covered my grin and he let out a sigh.
"My love, you should have never accepted a game against me," I said quietly and confidently.
"Well, at least I get some pleasure out of this."
"Don't be so sure. Be ready in a few hours, we dance and sing tonight." I cleaned up our game. I went to take the equipment back and I suddenly felt a familiar feeling. I called out, "Ayo! Not today, nor tomorrow, nor this month, nor the next..."
"I didn't think you would be this cruel," he said, feigning sorrow.
I went back to joined him. "Let's train. I'm not done beating you."
"You're funny," he said without humor.
"Thank you."
...
It was sunset. Fujin was squatting down, waiting for me to set up my instruments. I put my drum (huehuetl) that I handcrafted (with the help of my grandfather) in the middle of one of our rooms reserved for nights of song and dance. Then, I put the teponaztli and sticks next to it. I put my rattle, clay flute, and clay ocarina on a cloth beside the drum. I turned to face Fujin as he stood up, waiting for instructions. I put a hand on the drum. "I'm going to teach you a few songs with these instruments."
He looked a bit taken aback. "You're not going to make me dance?"
I laughed a bit. In good humor, I said, "I'm not going to let you take my part. It would disgrace my name... Do you know any tunes at all?" He stared at me as he thought. I grabbed my flute and looked at him. "You have to at least know this." I put the flute up to my lips and started playing (NOTE: Search up "Ehecatl" by "Xavier Quijas Yxayotl"). I started tapping my bare feet, which eventually led me to doing turns where I was standing.
Then I finished the song and he told me, "It seems very familiar."
"Now, these are the two songs I'm going to teach you-"
"You're not going to teach me more?"
I didn't respond. "The first one goes like this..."
...
"Got it?" I asked.
"I believe so."
"Play the drum first." I sent parts of my spirit to shake the rattle and play the teponaztli. I put my ocarina close to my lips. Before they made contact, I said, "If I could dance for the rest of my existence, I would do so. Dancing is more than just moving your body. At least, it is here."
I started blowing into the ocarina. (NOTE: If you really want to know, search up "Yolteotl - Nahui-Ollin")
Then came the drum. Then silence. The drum started again. My spirit shook the rattle in time with the beat and started moving my feet. The part of my spirit in the teponaztli's sticks forced them to start moving. Eventually, I picked up the flute and started playing it, but still dancing with my eyes closed.
Fujin's POV:
The beat I was made to do was easy. A child could even do it. I thought that she would make me do much more, but I was so wrong. I'm trying to figure out what draws her and her people so close to these songs and dances. Everyone is always to eager to dance. If they're not invited (when appropriate), they take offense to that.
We finished the first song and moved to the second without talking. I was now going to play the flute part. Two sticks glided over the drum and started to hit the drum at the next rhythm. She had her rattle in hand and started to move at the drum's beat. I moved the flute up to my lips and moved my fingers in time. Meanwhile, I focused on what she was feeling and what her spirit was doing. I felt happiness and peace. Then I stared at her spirit, which I could see when I focused hard enough. It was going outside her body as if she was willing it, but then it shrank. It repeated these motions throughout the song and in time with the drum. It was like...the spirit was dancing. I don't know if she was doing it on purpose. I would have to ask.
They are a very metaphorical people. "Music" was known as the "art of song." They didn't "play" their instruments, they "sang with them." "Dancing" was "singing with the feet." There are countless more metaphors, but they are all beautiful in their own way.
Teoitotia's POV:
I stopped when the song finished and opened my eyes. I was quiet and moved the instruments against the wall furthest from the doorway. I turned to Fujin. "That's all for today."
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Don't you do more?"
My smile didn't reach my eyes. "Yes, but it's not a night of song, so there is no need to go further. I'm going to meditate."
"Your spirit..."
"Dances as it pleases, I don't consciously control it. When we meditate, we allow it to move as it naturally wishes to, like a reflex. We assume it moves in time with the universe because the universe dances in its own way. We just flow with it."
"So polite." I softly laughed. He was right. Politeness was considered a form of fighting for dominance amongst us, more so in political settings. He continued, "Teach me."
...
I went to get my cousin Iztatetl. She was an adult for a few years now. I transported us to the coast and we settled inside a cenote with a medium-sized hole above us so the moonlight could shine on us. I moved the earth around so there were three discs near each other. I made Fujin set two of our mats across from each other while the other was a bit behind mine. I put down a long rattle and a type of flute down on my mat. I sat down and started to light some incense. He followed my lead and sat down. I turned to my cousin and handed her the flute. "Play the flute please and," I handed her a stick with a bunch of nut shells hanging from it, "shake this in time. Can you do that?"
"Of course I can," she responded and grabbed the stick.
I turned to Fujin and changed to my male form. "You know only a fraction of what we can do with our spirit because you have lagged behind your training. However, you still have the skills necessary to let your spirit go with the flow of the universe. Most people meditate by clearing their mind, but that should not exactly be the case here. The point is to not feel yourself in your body, but as one with the cosmos. You are the wind, so you understand it in the deepest levels, but you must understand everything around you that also includes the things beyond this planet. So we will meditate here; a place where you can feel fire, water, wind, and earth. Once you can feel all of them at the same time, you must feel the sun and moon. Once you do all of that, you can more easily feel the cosmos. Usually peyotl helps those who are meditating for the first time, but I assume you don't want that. Start with the material world and you can then ascend to the one hidden in plain sight. We will be here as long as it takes you to feel it." I looked down and started a fire on my right hand. "Tetl." (Fire) I grabbed the long rattle with my right hand and pointed at the other elements: "Atl. Ehecatl. Tlalli." (Water. Wind. Earth.) I turned my head slightly to nod at my cousin and she started one of a few meditation songs. I turned to Fujin. "Close your eyes and and feel them individually in no specific order. Once you do so, feel all of them. Then, feel the affect the sun and moon have on us physically. Feel all of that and you dance with the universe."
He closed his eyes and started to do as I said. I moved the long rattle in time. (NOTE: You can search up "Coyotzin - Sacred Cenote")
I gave him a few minutes to relax and feel the world around us.
After half an hour, I said, "It actually helps a whole lot more to chant or even sing." Then, I started to chant in a deep voice so he could better focus. "Naaaaaayoooooo. Naaaaaayoooooo. Naaaaaayoooooo. Naaaaaayoooooo. Naaaaaayoooooo."
...
I looked at his spirit. It seemed to move, but not in the right way. I spoke to Iztatetl, He still doesn't seem to get it. We are going to change the song to something more his type. Continue playing the flute, but nothing else. She did as I said and I stopped moving the rattle. I put my hand out at her to hand me the other instrument and she did so. I used my magic to exchange them for a reed flute and other instruments. Play that, I told my cousin as I handed her the clay wind instrument. She stopped playing what she was doing and changed instruments. (NOTE: You can search up "Sun of Wind" by Coyotzin) I put the fire in front of me in a incense burner. At the right time, I played the reed flute.
After about 20 minutes into it, I checked on his spirit again and found it moving more as it should. I smiled and continued playing the flute. He just needed a change in song.
13 minutes later, he opened his eyes and stopped. He said, "We should retry tomorrow. I assume you both need rest."
I didn't argue with him and set the fire out. "Alright."
...
We dropped my cousin off and I apologized a few times to her parents for bringing her late. Then, Fujin and I went home. I went to clean my mouth and when I returned to our room, he was ready to sleep. I removed my garments and sat down by him. "Want to talk about it?" I asked.
There was a slight pause. "It is different from the way I usually meditate and the results were different too. It felt...like I was less connected to this planet and more with the cosmos, but I was still tied here."
"You mistaken the feeling you should feel. What you should feel is the cosmos. Which includes this planet. It is not to be ignored. Don't focus on going from here to there. Focus on going there and bringing this planet with it...if you know what I mean. Simply because you are a teotzin in nature does not means that you can all easily feel the cosmos. I assume I wrongly phrased what I said earlier. When we meditate we don't feel the cosmos, we let our spirits ride in the universe's energy, but that is not the same as feeling the cosmos. Feeling the universe is very difficult for most. Feeling the earth, however, is not hard, which is what my mother does. I learned to feel the cosmos by accident. I assume it was my spirit that let me do so, but I never meant to. I was just feeling everything around me." I chuckled. "You already know how philosophical I get. Now add my deep thoughts with meditation." He smiled. I took one of his hands in mine. "The point is to not overthink any of this. It will only make it worse. Don't push yourself to do this. Next time, dig deep into yourself. You embody the wind, use that to your advantage. Feel your brothers' energies. It may help. You may think as the other elements as separate things. Don't. Think of them as your family. Think of the whole cosmos as your family."
Fujin put his other hand behind my head and pulled me in for a passionate kiss. He whispered, "How did I end up so lucky to be with the most philosophical being in this universe?"
I laughed. "Flattery won't help you." His look and feelings from the bond only expressed love, and I felt myself getting turned on. "Ok, maybe it will in this exact instance."
He grinned and pounced on me. While we kissed I remembered something and told him, Aya, meditation is not the only way to get results. Song and dance help too.
He sounded very intrigued. You mean-?
That is why we hold song and dance to such a high esteem. Why do you think we also sing and dance when fighting sometimes? Not just us, but other ancient Nahua peoples?
I see. He grabbed my erection and I jumped, reminding me of what we were getting at. We'll just work on this another day...
... ... ... ... ...
Three Days Later...
It was another quiet day. A bit of time has passed after mid-day and I was walking home after the meeting with my uncle. I stepped inside our home and felt Fujin in our garden. I went through the doorway and found him in the air, in the lotus position, and meditating. I was a bit surprised to say the least. I stood by the doorway and he eventually opened his eyes.
"Well don't stop on my account," I said as he lowered himself onto the mat below him.
"I'm free," he informed me.
I sighed in relief and walked towards him. "Thank the ancestors, I need to get something off my mind. Are you willing to waste some of your time listening to my rambling?"
I sat down on the mat with him and he responded, "Of course and it is not a waste of time."
"You think that now. Anyway, remember my previous theory on human nature?"
"How could I forget?"
"Let me revise it and start from the beginning..."
Fujin's POV:
I listened to her words and couldn't help but smile. I found it humorous when she went on these rambles about her philosophies, which are quite often and varying in length. The point is that she desperately tried to reason her way through theories. It was all about logic, which itself came very natural to her, but she also became emotionally passionate. I was trying not to show teeth. If I did, she would notice and stop. She went on, eyes closed to see her theory out in front of her. She may be passionate, but her logic is always beautifully thought out. I enjoy this too much.
Teoitotia's POV:
I continued, "If all of that is the case, then-" I opened my eyes and looked up at his face. He had a wide grin. I stopped completely. I pulled back my lips a bit. "You're not even listening," I accused him.
He held his hands up, but he still had that grin. "Of course I was. Your thoughts are perfectly logical."
"You were half-listening," I further accused him, leaning forward as if to pounce. I was slightly irritated and showed a bit more teeth. I decided to spring forward to force him down on the mat. I was straddling him with a forearm across his collarbone and my other hand on the mat by his head. "You could have just said no," I sneered. He was enjoying this. I could feel it.
"I was listening and enjoying myself. I did skip a few words, but not sentences," he informed me.
I wasn't satisfied and his playful mood stuck on me. I shifted into a jaguar, growled, and lied on him so his face was stuffed in my chest.
What are you trying to do? Smother me to death? he asked. I was at least about 65 kilos / 143 lbs.
A fitting death for the spirit of the wind, I replied sarcastically.
I felt him chuckle under me. I lifted myself off of him and started to walk to the entrance of our residency.
"Were are you going?" he asked, amused.
Hunting. I turned around to look at him. If you cannot die by having no wind, then have all the wind this universe has to provide. Keep on breathing. I barred my teeth. I am enough for you.
"Is that a challenge?" he asked with false offensiveness.
I walked out of the garden. Quema.
... ... ... ... ...
The Next Day...
I was patrolling with my crew early in the morning when Raiden teleported in front of us. We jumped back a bit in surprise and the others bowed. "Tlalotzin."
I nodded my head. "Raiden, how may I be of service?"
He told all of us, "Good morning." To the others he asked, "May I speak to Teoitotia alone?"
I told my crew, "Go on. Asihuatl, you report to the any officer that is not busy should anything seem out of place. If I do not return, tell the tlatoani that I needed to attend an urgent matter."
She bowed and responded, "Yes, Teoitotiatzin." Then they bowed to Raiden again and left.
Raiden said, "I am sorry to bother you, but your assistance is needed by the Special Forces."
"Did the general specifically request for it?" I asked suspiciously.
"No. Four deceased soldiers were delivered to the Special Forces base with symbols not of this realm. I had asked the others, but they do not seem to know either."
"I do not mean to offend you in any way, however, what made you think that I would know?"
"I do not, but your ancestors might. Have they not been exploring areas beyond this realm in their afterlife?"
"Yes. Please, do not misinterpret my words Raiden. I only sought background information I might need. We can go now."
"Thank you." He lifted a hand to the sky and lightning struck down on us.
...
We were teleported to the SF base and greeted by Sonya Blade, "Good morning, Teoitotia. Thank you for coming."
I bowed my head and replied in English, "Hello, General Blade. How may I be of aid?"
"Please follow me." She turned around and started walking. Raiden and I followed after her. We walked into the building and into a room with a man. I recognize that spirit. Sonya turned to face me and introduced us, "Teoitotia, this is Kenshi, the one who found the men."
Kenshi bowed. "Pleased to meet you."
I bowed in return. "Takahashi Kenshi. It is a pleasure to meet you. I know of your bloodline."
Kenshi was taken aback. "You know about my ancestors and I?"
I smiled. "We can talk about this after. First, we must work."
"Of course."
We turned to the tables that had bodies on them. Sonya unzipped all the body bags. I noticed that the bodies had no heads, so I focused on analyzing the symbols on their abdomens. Sonya spoke, "We first thought that it was the Black or Red Dragon, but they would never carve these symbols into them, nor leave the bodies as intact as these are to send a message."
I sent out a message: Dear ancestors of mine, I call upon you for guidance and advice.
We are here.
Please look at the symbols on the men. Have you seen anything like them?
They were silent, then they spoke, We have seen them before. We do not know what they mean, but their appearance is native to another realm. Its inhabitants call it "Mekaranoba."
Thank you.
I relayed that information to the others. "These symbols come from a group of beings native to the realm its inhabitants call 'Mekaranoba.'" (NOTE: Made up realm)
"I do not know of that realm," noted Raiden.
I asked my ancestors, Do you know what people exactly?
The main people of that realm are part of different nations, we do not know which one and they are all militarily advanced.
I understand. Thank you.
I told the rest of them, "The main people of that realm are politically united and militarily advanced. Why would any other unknown realm target you all?"
"I don't know and it makes no sense. We work for Earthrealm and have sent soldiers only to Neatherrealm," said Sonya.
"Raiden, does Neatherrealm have any allies?" I asked.
"I am not sure, but I doubt they do. That would be an odd behavior."
"This is very odd," I said.
"Indeed," agreed Kenshi. "General Blade, perhaps this calls for diplomacy?"
"Yes, but this concerns an unknown realm. This is beyond the league of the secretary and general. Not to mention that we do not all speak for Earthrealm, but I assume that this concerns SF alone. Raiden, can you send us there? I will gather a team to make peace. Teoitotia, can you come along with us? You do not have to engage, but you our only informant so far."
Raiden said, "I can transport you all there, but I will need to see exactly where it is. I will contact you when I do." Sonya and Kenshi nodded.
I responded, "I am a general as well, but I do not have the right to go anywhere. I will seek permission. If it is granted, then I will go as an informant."
"Thank you." To Raiden and I she said, "Thank you for helping us in this personal matter."
"I will take my leave," said Raiden and then he left.
Then, the three of us were left. General Blade walked us out of the room and she left too. I stood in where I was with Kenshi. I knew he had questions. "You may ask Takahashi Kenshi."
"You know what I can do."
"Yes."
"My ancestors say that you are very strong. There is no use in challenging you." I didn't say anything. "Who are you?"
"I am General Teoitotia of the House of Black Stone."
"Are you an Earthrealmer?"
"Yes."
"How are you as strong as my ancestors say? I sense nothing."
I smiled. "Do you know what your abilities are Takahashi Kenshi?"
"You don't have to be so formal and my telepathy is a family gift. My other abilities come from my katana, Sento."
"As you wish. Let me tell you that all of your abilities do not come from Sento. You have gained the ability to sense other spirits and can manipulate your own."
"You know about Sento's and I's specifics? How do you know all of this?"
I smiled. "Because I am a master of manipulating my spirit." I connected my spirit with his. Please do not tell anyone, but I come from a people who are like me in nature. We know much more than what you can do, but you have a good start. However, our children can do all that you can by the time they are a few days old. We have evolved to do so. Your line had just begun, but your line will evolve too.
I could sense his shock. How did your people acquire these abilities? Are your ancestors originally from Earthrealm?
My ancestors are indigenous Earthrealmers, but one of them started our evolution thousands of years ago.
Fascinating. How much can you do?
I cannot say since I don't even know my own limits. We respect you and yours Kenshi, which is why I offer this: Should you wish to expand your abilities, I am willing to teach you and yours.
I appreciate the offer. I will think about it.
"Well then, I must be going. I still have to gain permission after all."
"Of course." We bowed our heads at each other.
"Until then Kenshi." I turned and left the base to Tliltetepetl.
... ... ... ... ...
Three Days Later...
I have gained the permission of my uncle to travel with the Special Forces as in informant only. I had aided in helping Raiden find Mekaranoba (really it was my ancestors that did the helping). General Blade had her team and we are leaving in 15 hours.
... ...
Fourteen Hours Later...
It was morning in China and I was cuddling with Fujin in our room at the Sky Temple.
"I should get going," I said.
He groaned and moved his head to kiss me. "Be careful. Treat it as a dangerous world."
"I know." I kissed him and nuzzled my head in his neck. "Have some faith in me," I said with a smile. I kissed his neck and withdrew from his hold. I sensed his disappointment. I walked around the room as I prepared for this diplomatic trip. We walked down to meet Raiden.
"Let us go," Raiden said.
I nodded my head and approached him. "Be cautious," Fujin said. I don't know if he was telling us both or just one of us.
To me, he said, I would say "Take care of yourselves" but I think it's more like you need to take care of him. We chuckled in our telepathic conversation.
Do not fear, my love. I can take care of myself.
Then Raiden teleported us to the SF base. We saw Sonya and her chosen few. Raiden made sure everything was set and teleported us to Mekaranoba.
...
The moment we teleported to the strange realm, we were in front of a gate. The first thing I did was sense for any other spirits nearby. What the? I sensed nothing and there was no one at the gate.
"This could be bad," Sonya noted.
"Do you sense anything?" Raiden asked me.
"Nothing," I said with concern.
"Eyes up. Secure the gate. If there is no one at the gate, push forward," ordered Sonya.
We moved forward and I kept alert for any spirits. Not even nature spirits were nearby. This is truly concerning. The city was huge and there was no noise whatsoever.
"There is no one here," I informed them.
"Step aside," Raiden ordered and he broke the gate open with lightning. There was no noise. We walked forward and past the entrance. Once we could see the city, we saw one of the most haunting things anyone could ever see.
Sonya said, "What the fuck?"
Thanks for reading! I appreciate any feedback!
