A/N – Thanks for the welcome. Guests: I've said before that I would never write a story just about Fakeson, so to 1st guest, you know who this Jason is so, does it matter how he feels about Sam? She has mostly fought to be with Jason, so I'm not going to change her character, but Jason…let's just say he's taken at the moment lol. I'm not taking the same route as the show, I'm mixing up some things and changing others, but the core of it on Jason/Fakeson side, is sort of following the show…sort of.

To fit the premise, I had to age the kids which means the Jake accident happened later in his life. Just don't try to do the math lol. You'll get age info as this moves forward. The age part is hard because they screwed with Jason's age around this time too.

Chapter 2

Liz's attention jerks toward the door as Jason appears in the doorway.

Jake glances at him.

Jason smiled. "Hey, Jake." Realizing that this boy is truly his son is overwhelming.

"Hey."

He sits at the table and starts to get emotional. "I don't feel like I can pretend with him." God, he didn't want it to come out yet, but facing his son is just putting him over the edge.

"Jake…" Liz said softly, avoiding calling him by his real name for her son's sake.

He cleared his throat. "I just found out that I'm Jason Morgan, your father."

Jake nodded. "Yeah, I figured."

"How—"

He's cut off by Liz because Jake is going to be late for school.

Monica arrived, so Liz ushered Jake to the car to give them some time alone.

Jason held up his hand. "Before you start, I just can't take another person telling me about who I was."

"Believe it or not, I wasn't going to do that. I've had to let go of Jason before and learn to get to know him again, so I'm willing to do that with you."

"Thank you."

"May I have a hug?"

He stands and they embrace. Monica is so relieved that she hadn't lost her son. No matter what happens, she'll never give up on him.

Alexis listens as her daughter pours out her heart. Danny had called Patrick daddy and her fragile walls had come crashing down.

"Sam, there may be legal ramifications to all of this."

Sam makes a face. "I can't even think about that right now."

"He may never remember."

"No! I won't accept that. I have always felt him around me. He had to feel me too."

Alexis sighed. "But he didn't. I didn't think you even liked Jake Doe."

There's a knock on the door and she's shocked to see Jake standing there.

"Hey, is Danny home?"

"Who dropped you off?"

"Lulu did." He can tell that Sam has been crying but he shrugs it off.

"Come in. He's upstairs in his room."

Jake heads up there to visit his brother.

"Well, that was awkward," Alexis mutters as she grabs her purse. "I have to go. If you want to talk later call me, but don't do anything rash where Patrick is concerned yet."

"Okay."

The kids have moved downstairs to get a snack, but Jake doesn't feel as comfortable with Sam. Something has changed and he wonders if it's because of his dad.

Patrick and Liz collide in the hallway at General Hospital.

"Hey, are you okay?" he asked. He feels like a shitty friend, knowing this must be hard on her because he's been so self-involved with the Sam aspect.

"Yeah. I guess you know by now?"

He nodded.

"Are you worried that Jason will start to remember and want Sam back?"

"I'm trying to trust that everything will work out the way it should. I have to go."

He takes off for his surgery, and Monica calls out to her.

"Hi, I just wanted to thank you for calling me."

"It was the right thing to do."

"If you love him, you'll have to give him some space to figure things out so that maybe he can remember his life."

Liz doesn't reply because she's scared of what that will mean for her.

Jason shows up at Sam's so he can see Danny. There's no avoiding the fact that he has another child and it's time to stop running and get to know him.

"He's taking a nap, but you can wait for him."

He feels like he owes her the time, so he sits.

"I have always felt this connection to you. It's hard to explain, but I know that you have to feel it too."

"Sam, I meant nothing to you when I was Jake. You didn't feel a connection to me then." When a tear rolls down her cheek, he averts his gaze. "I can't remember what we had. I'm sorry, but that is just the way it is." He is starting to lose his patience with her.

She stands, furious that he won't admit it. "I refuse to believe that you don't remember our vows. You wouldn't kill me when Helena ordered you to. Do you wonder why?" She starts to sob. "We were happy. I mean I know we weren't perfect and had hit a rough patch, but we had made amends and then you were taken from me. I have faith that you will remember us."

He has a flash of them in bed.

"What did you remember?"

He blushes and she grabs his face and kisses him, but he pulls away. "I still don't remember anything else." He wonders why he would remember something like that instead of family memories or their wedding. "Sam, we are in love with other people now. I need to find whoever did this to me and I think we should let each other go."

"Please, let me help you. I need the answers too."

"No. I need to do this on my own."

He leaves as she crumbles onto the couch and then heads towards Wyndemere convinced that Nicholas knows something.

Nikolas put his glass down on his desk after explaining the Helena situation to his mother.

"I'm glad that the truth is out now," Laura said.

Liz enters the room. "No one knows my role in it, and we've kept it a secret."

Hayden appears out of nowhere. "I've kept it too."

"Why are you even here?" She can't stand the sight of her. Why does she always have the worse luck with siblings?

Hayden smirked. "Maybe I like seeing you suffer. You and I both know that Jason will go back to Sam and you'll be all alone, just like you deserve."

Liz starts to lash out, but Nikolas stops her.

"Elizabeth, Jason needs to hear the truth from you," Laura said.

Hayden rolled her eyes and leaves.

"I can handle, Hayden. She won't give you up," Nikolas said.

Laura sighed. "Lies have a way of ruining everything. You need to tell him before he finds out on his own and never forgives you." She leaves and about fifteen minutes later, Jason appears and is surprised to find Liz with Nikolas.

"Hi. I was just trying to see if I could get more information. I need to get home," Liz said.

Jason tracks her as she leaves and then fixes his attention on the prince. "Did you doctor the DNA test?"

Nikolas rolls his eyes.

"I just want my life back."

"I can't help you with that."

"You listen to me, if you don't come clean, I will bankrupt you by exercising my rights over the Quartermaine stocks and will give them to Michael."

Hayden, who hadn't left moved leaned forward to listen.

"I'm sorry that you feel like you need to go to those lengths, but Helena is the one with all the answers and she's dying and won't talk to anyone."

Jake is livid. "I'll take my chances after I speak to Michael."

Nikolas thinks he's blowing smoke.

Patrick walks into his bedroom to find Sam holding Jason's ring. He sighed and her gaze locks on him.

"I kissed him."

Patrick's eyes widen.

"I'm sorry. I thought it would bring back his memories, but it didn't."

"What would you have done if it had?"

"I don't know."

"Sam, I can't wait around for you to decide. I have a daughter to worry about and my heart."

He gets a phone call about Emma. "I have to go."

A few minutes later, there is a knock at the door and Sam is surprised to find Liz standing there.

"What do you want?"

"Are you going to abandon Patrick and Emma?"

Sam's eyes narrow. "Jason is going to remember me whether you like it or not." God, she hates Elizabeth and wishes she'd just move away.

"So, everything you built with Patrick means nothing?"

"You know it does, but I am married to Jason. We made vows to each other."

Liz smirked. "Funny, vows didn't matter to you when you were kissing John McBain, nor when you seduced my husband for revenge or slept with Ric."

Sam slams the door in her face, determined to get Jason back, and wipe that smirk off Liz's face.

Spinelli opens the door of his apartment. "Stone Cold, it's wonderful to see you."

Jason nodded as he moved inside. "I need your help."

"What can I do for you?"

"Nikolas claims that Helena is the one that did this to me and I need to find her. He said she's dying on Cassadine Island. Can you find anything?"

Spinelli rushed to open his computer and got started. After a half-hour, he locates her and gives Jason the information who then comes up with a plan.

"Thank you for helping."

"I would do anything to help you get your life back." He misses his mentor and friend and hopefully, his memories will return soon.

Jason runs off, heading to Greece to confront his nemesis.

Patrick throws his hands up as Sam tells him that Jason needs her because he's going after the Cassadines. "I'm not sure what that means for us then."

"He will need my help."

Patrick shakes his head. "I think you feel like you need to help him, but Jason is a grown man and you have a child to think about, not to mention that you have been a mother figure to Emma. But hey, Jason needs to you, so the hell with the rest of us, right?"

She sputters as he leaves to go to work and then an hour later, she calls him.

"Hi."

Sam closes her eyes. "I'm going to go, but this won't affect us. I just need this resolved."

"Fine. Good luck. I'll trust you." She's going to do whatever she wants, so he's tired of arguing about it.

"Thank you."

She hangs up and then grabs a duffle back before calling Monica to ask her to watch Danny.

Jason breaks into the Cassadine compound and finds Nikolas waiting for him.

"I'm not surprised to see you. I'm here to say goodbye to my grandmother."

"Take me to her, now." Just the sight of Nikolas makes him want to hit something.

"Fine."

Nikolas wonders how far Jason is willing to take this if he doesn't get the answers he wants.

Sam is dismayed to find that Elizabeth had booked the seat next to her.

"Why are you here?"

"Jason is my fiancé whether you like it or not."

"I think you're just trying to do damage control."

"Someone is very paranoid," Liz said.

"He's going to remember that you could never accept him for who he is."

Liz rolled her eyes. "That's a lie and you know it."

"You would have been thrilled if he had stayed Jake Doe forever because you can't handle Jason Morgan."

"I seem to remember that you couldn't handle him after you were shot."

Sam glared.

"I have loved Jason for a long time," Liz said.

"Then you should want him to remember who he is so he can make his own choices and be true to himself."

"He already chose to be with me and when you get back home and try to crawl back into Patrick's bed. He's going to kick you out because he'll have realized that he was just a placeholder; just someone between your legs before you can hop back on Jason because we all know you use your worn-out vagina to get whatever you want."

Sam threw her water at Liz. The stewardess brings Liz a towel and threatens them with jail. The women apologize and she leaves.

"Guess I struck a nerve," Liz said.

"I am very much in love with Patrick."

"So, tell me something, if Jason gets his memory back and wants to pick up right back where you left off, what then? You'll go back to Jason so fast that Patrick won't even know what hit him."

"If he gets his memory back, then we all will have a lot to figure out."

"What if he chooses to stay with me? Are you going to marry Patrick and pine over Jason?"

Sam turns towards her. "Jason will never stay with you. You don't fit into his life and you never have. You are a damsel in distress."

Liz chuckled. "Pot meet kettle… How many times has Jason had to save you? I can't even compete with those numbers."

"You are not his equal—not even close. If anything, you are his cross to bear. The one that withheld his child from him, probably hurting him more than anyone else he has ever been with. You never chose him! You are a leech sucking on his soul that he can't get rid of because you can never make up your mind and always lead him on only to choose another man over him. You're nothing but an obligation. If Jason truly wanted you, nothing would have stood in his way."

Liz chucked her water on Sam.

The stewardess confronts them again. They talk their way out of it and agree to a truce.

Jason and Nikolas enter Helena's room to find her hooked up to machines.

"As you can see, I'm not faking."

She does look like crap, but that can be achieved with makeup. "I'm not convinced."

"I'm ready to return to my Mikkos and have tried to right a few wrongs before I go, like returning Jake."

Suddenly, guards enter with Liz and Sam in tow.

"Look who it is, Tweedle Dumb and Dumber."

The women shoot her a look.

Helena focuses on Jason. "I will tell you what you need to know. I am the one that saved you because Faison confessed his intentions before he shot you and I decided I had much greater use for you. I rescued you and sent you to Victor's lab to revive you. Jake is also alive because of me."

"How could you do this to us? How could you keep Jake from his mother and Jason from me and our son?" Sam yelled. "You won't be reuniting with your psycho husband because you will be burning in hell."

Helena growled. "I curse you, your parents, and your children and all of you will never be happy!"

Sam laughed causing Helena to smirk.

"Ask Luke and Laura about my last curse. That family is a disaster"

Liz sighed. "I think we should leave. She's not giving us answers."

"I still have more to tell such as how Jason lost his memory."

"What did you do?" Jason asked.

"Can you undo it?" Sam asked.

Helena smiled. "I'm surprised that you think I have so much power. Let's just say memories were extracted and inserted at Faison's leisure."

"Who knew all along?" Jason asked. He is losing his patience with her cryptic bullshit.

She gloats.

"Tell me!"

She gasps and then suddenly loses consciousness. Liz jumps into action and tries to revive her until a doctor scrambles into the room and takes over.

"She's gone."

The group moves into the hallway.

"You need to tell me what you know," Jason said.

Nikolas shakes his head. "You really should stop with the whining and self-pity. I told you what I know already."

Jason grabs his lapels and throws him onto a table before guards pull them apart and Nikolas returns to his grandmother's room. Hopefully, the truth died with her.
