Chapter 6: Earth's Status

Earth-11114 (or Earth-616 if you prefer the main Earth continuity from the comics)

In the same day Spider-Man disappeared, the world was in chaos. The sky turned red and there were random objects suddenly appearing on random places. There were consecutive lightning strikes all over Europe and Asia which made everyone thought that Thor or Storm was causing it. Namor tries to calm the raging seas in the Mediterranean Sea for days and has not been getting any sleep. Wakanda activated a barrier to protect themselves from the upcoming threat that has yet to arrive. Wong and the other two masters were defending the three sanctums from an unknown cosmic entity that looked like imps. Captain America was sent to the New York Sanctum by Nick Fury to question Doctor Strange about this natural phenomenon.

"Captain, what brings you here?" Wong asked.

"Sorry for intruding, but is Doctor Strange home?" Cap asked.

Wong shakes his head, "He left this morning. Are you here to ask about that?" Wong said as he points at the red sky and a massive lightning strike that hits the Oscorp building.

Cap nods, "Since you and Dr. Strange deal with all of these mystic stuff, we need answers."

"I'm afraid I can't say, Cap," Wong said. "You'll have to wait for Strange to answer you."

"Mr. Wong, if we don't get answers soon, many people will die," Cap said. "We need to be prepare from this upcoming threat.

Wong sighs, "It's not that I don't want to tell you, Cap, it's just that I can't. Strange is probably the only knows the answer to this causes."

"Then where is he?!" Cap asked desperately.

A yellow portal appeared behind Cap. He turns around to see Strange and Madame Web walks out of the portal. Cap personally doesn't know Madame Web, but he heard stories about her from Peter.

"I'll be answering your questions, Steve Rogers," Strange said. "Let's step inside."

Doctor Strange, Captain America, and Madame Web steps inside the sanctum as they went to Strange's office which is just a normal living room. They sit down with a beer on Captain America's hand and a coffee on Madame Web's hand.

Cap clears his throat after he drinks the beer, "Dr. Strange. Can you tell me of what's happening outside?"

Strange sighs, "There's another crisis, captain. The red skies, the sudden appearance of furnitures, and lightning strikes are only the beginning."

"What's the cause of this?" Cap asked as he puts down the empty bottle.

"The Infinity Stones are missing, causing our universe to be in imbalance," Strange said which shocks Cap. "Spider-Man is currently retrieving the stones as we speak."

"Parker? Why would you send him to retrieve the most powerful creations in the universe?" Cap asked. "You should have sent The Avengers or X-Men."

"Spider-Man is the key to stopping this upcoming crisis," Strange stated. "His destiny ended when he quits being Spider-Man. Without him, everything on our universe dies, same with outside of Marvel."

Cap's eyes were widen from what he heard, 'Spider-Man is the key and he's currently retrieving the stones. Where is he though? Charles couldn't even find him and Ryu, Dante, Chris, and other Capcom heroes said that they didn't see any Spider-Men on their universe. There's the only place Parker is in.'

"Parker is in the third universe, isn't he?" Cap said as he receives a nod from Strange. "I get that he's the key to this upcoming crisis, but why would send him alone in the third universe to retrieve the stones?"

"He needs to cope with his depression of Miss Stacy's death," Strange stated. "If he continues down in that path, then the world is doom."

Cap knows where Strange is going with this. If Spider-Man is the key to saving this crisis, then it would make sense since he has saved the universe once during the SpiderVerse event. But he wasn't sure of sending a depressed man on the mission alone.

"He should at least have some company from his world," Cap said.

Strange raises his eyebrow, "Who would you have in mind?"

"I don't know. What about Johnny? Him and Parker are best friends." Cap suggested.

Strange disagrees with the idea, "That show off will instead ruin Parker's mission."

"Uhm... he said he has a sidekick. Miles Morales was it?" Cap said.

"Miles is currently busy fighting The Sini... or rather, The Ultimate Six," Strange said. "Even if you have good suggestions, captain. Parker has to do this alone."

Cap sighs in defeat, "When will he be back?"

"Who knows? Hopefully before the crisis," Strange answered. "Speaking of crisis, HYDRA is currently on the move to attack one of SHIELD Compounds. You better go there with your merry-go-round band."

After hearing this news, Cap immediately stands up, "Thanks for your time, Mr. Strange. Nice to meet you, Madame Web."

"Anytime, Mr. Rogers." Cassandra said as Cap left the sanctum. "Will he find the stones in time, Strange?"

"Like I said, who knows?" Strange asked. "If he fails to collect all the stones and still came back unmotivated of this upcoming crisis, then we need to have a backup plan."

"I agree," Cassandra said. "I hope he will be motivated by then."

"He will. He's Spider-Man." Strange said with a smirk as he drinks his coffee.

SHIELD Helicarrier

Captain America teleported from The Fantastic Four Tower to the SHIELD Helicarrier and what he saw was a nightmare. There were SHIELD agents lying on the floor. Nick Fury was unconscious with four stab wounds from his arms and legs and Maria Hill was also unconscious with a green feather blade stuck on her arm. The Avengers were also down - Tony, who was in his Iron Man Mk. 3 suit, couldn't move the suit after a zappy malfunction, Bruce was unconscious with a tranquilizer dart on his neck, Reed was unconscious while his stretchy body was stuck on different objects, Black Widow had a harpoon arrow stuck between her legs, Hawkeye was buried in sand, and Thor was unconscious with two feather blades stuck on his stomach while his whole body was emitting yellow lightning continuously. In the cell area, The Green Goblin had a hole in his chest with burnt marks, stab wounds, and bullets all over his body.

Cap runs toward Tony, "Tony, what happened here?"

Tony groans from the muscle pain, "Well, Spider-Man's 'best friends' attacked us out of nowhere and knocked us all down."

Cap takes a look at all the fallen heroes again, "It's The Sinister Six, isn't it?"

"You betcha." Tony said while still groaning.

Cap sighs in frustration, "What did they came for?"

"You won't like this. It's the machine that Osborn built," Tony answered which widens Cap's eyes. "They say something about going into that universe to... find the stones, which should be impossible since they are stored safely at Strange's sanctum." This shocks Cap more as they know where they were going. They were going to the third universe.

Cap later calls the medics from one of the SHIELD Compounds to treat the wounds of the fallen heroes as he begins to worry for Peter, 'Strange said to not interrupt Spider-Man's mission, but he'll be in trouble. Parker may not be a kid anymore but he is still not invincible to take on all six of the sinisters.'

Cap then received a text from a certain someone he knows. It was Professor X, the principal of Xavier's School for the Gifted.

Captain, I want you to meet me at my school to have a chat. Do not worry about the HYDRA infiltrating the SHIELD Compound, the X-Men will do the job for you. Meet me before lunch.

- Charles Xavier

Cap was relief that the X-Men will stop the HYDRA since his team is currently unavailable though he is worry that they'll be mind controlled but he trusts that they'll make it back safely. He sends a reply before he steps into the teleportation pad to the X-Men Mansion.

X-Men Mansion

Cap teleports in an underground basement which the floor and walls were all blue. An elderly, bald man was sitting outside of the entrance of Cerebro.

"Hello, captain. It's been a while since we met." Charles greeted

"Good to see you too, professor," Cap greeted back. "Do you have something to talk?"

"As a matter of fact, I do," Charles said as he stares at the scanner and the door opens. "Please follow me."

Cap walks inside Cerebro. He forgot how massive the area was and how very circular the design was. He still couldn't hold his laugh when Beast said that he based the color from Mystique. It was something Hank shouldn't have tell about since everyone couldn't hold their laughter whenever he mentions Raven.

"You are aware that there will be upcoming crisis, correct?" Charles said as Cap nods in response. "And that Spider-Man will be the key to save the entire multiverse... again."

"Tell me something I don't know." Cap said.

"Earlier, the Sinister Six the helicarrier and took the machine," Charles said. "I can help you find it."

Cap was glad that the professor could help but he knew it wasn't for free, "What do I give you in return?"

"You mustn't interfere with Mr. Parker's mission," Charles said as Cap raises an eyebrow. "You heard Strange. He needs to let go of that depression of his."

Cap sighs, "I know that, but he needs to be watch. We would never know he could be in trouble."

"And that's why I have already someone in mind." Charles said.

"Who?" Cap asked curiously.

"I'm afraid I can't tell you," Charles said. "Because, just now, Strange warned me."

'That wizard.' Cap thought in frustration. "Whatever. I just need the location of the machine so I can retrieve it."

Charles nods as he places the Cerebro helmet on his head. He begins to look for the machine but it took a while until the location was revealed. Doctor Octavius has already activated the machine as the six of the villains steps inside before the machine deactivates.

"It's under Fisk Tower at Hell's Kitchen," Charles said as Cap begins to walk away. "Be careful, Cap."

Cap stops walking to give a nod before he walks toward the teleportation pad. Charles sighs as he contact someone through Cerebro.

"The location of the machine is at Hell's Kitchen," Charles said. "You might encounter Captain America along the way."

The man let out a chuckle, "You really have to tell him as well."

"He plays an important part as well," Charles said. "You know what do you."

"I know. I'll help him." The man said before Charles removes the helmet from his head.

Charles let out a sigh, "I hope everything is according to plan unless fate wants to change it."

Hell's Kitchen

Cap jumped through a manhole which is located near Fisk Tower. He takes out his flashlight and begins to walk around the sewers. He heard some noises in the distance as he turns the flashlight off and begins to walk slowly.

"Do you think those guys will make it back here?" The man thug.

The second thug scoffed, "They better be. I want my money."

"What if we just steal the machine and sell it?" The third thug suggested.

"Do it. And the reptile will kill you." The second thug said.

While Cap still listens to the conversation unbeknownst to him a giant lizard tail was revealed in the ceiling, he was then attack but manages to reduce the damage he received after he instinctively blocks it with his shield. The thugs heard the commotion.

"What the hell was that?!" The third thug asked.

"There must be an intruder if that reptile showed up." The second thug answered.

"Should we help him?" The first thug asked.

"Hell the fuck no!" The second thug declined. "I don't care if that freak's dead."

They can hear the creature growling while the intruder was desperately fending himself off from the creature's attack. While they were waiting for the fight to finish, the third thug was suddenly knocked unconscious after a baton flew into the back of his head. The two thugs turned their guns at the direction the baton was thrown.

"Who's there?!" The second thug demanded as he cocks the gun. "Whoever you are. We won't hesitate to use this."

"Y-Yeah! We wo-won't!" The first man said in a scared tone as the two of them slowly walks towards the darkness.

The man showed up and forced the second thug to drop his gun after he threw his other baton. The first thug attempted to shoot him, but the man kicks the gun off and delivers a side flip kick causing him to knocked out. The second thug gets up and delivers several punches which the man dodges all of them.

"You're attacks are predictable and identifiable." The man said.

The second thug growled, "SHUT THE HELL UP!!!"

The man lets out a smile, "I can take you there if you want."

The second thug was then scared after hearing the threat. The man parries the attacks, delivers a head butt, and massive right hook causing the thug to go down as the man pants. He begins to look for the machine while Captain America was still fighting the creature.

Cap groans as he was flown across the room where the three thugs were knocked out, "Why are you here, Lizard or should I say... Dr. Conners?" he said as he throws his shield at the creature which ricocheted back to his hand.

The Lizard growls, "I won't let you interfering with my plans."

"And what is your plan?" Cap asked as he dodges another attack. "You're not the type to work with anyone."

"I'm only working with those six so that I can finally make the perfect cure!" The Lizard said as he leaps forward at Cap to deliver an attack but Cap roll dodge to side and raises shield when The Lizard delivers a claw attack.

"A cure that turns people into mutated lizards!" Cap said as he trips The Lizard with his shield and attacks his face. "Spider-Man told me about your 'dream' plan."

The Lizard growls as he sent Captain America flying with a kick as his micro-scales on his whole body turns invisible. Cap gets up and groans from the throw as he attempts to hear the noise that The Lizard makes but he couldn't hear anything. The Lizard then showed itself up and hits Captain America with his tail causing Cap to sent flying into a wall with a massive crack.

"You're pathetic and weak, Captain America," The Lizard stated. "You're super soldier serum is inferior to my lizard serum. To me, you're just a self righteous, weak man wearing tights and spandex. Now stay down!"

Cap coughs some blood before getting up after grabbing his shield from the ground, "I can do this all day."

The Lizard rolls his eye, "Sure you can."

The Lizard runs toward Captain America at an incredible speed but hits the wall instead when Cap dodges the attack. Cap grabs a stun grenade from one of the thugs and threw it at The Lizard. The grenade went off as Cap delivers series of blow to The Lizard. He takes out a tranquilizer gun from his utility belt and fires 10 rounds of tranquilizer darts.

"You... think... that... can... stop... me...?" The Lizard said in a sleepy tone. "Pathe... tic." he made a loud thud sound after hitting the ground.

Cap was panting from exhaustion as he temporarily rest on the ground. He takes out a an antibiotic ointment and a bandage kit from his utility belt and tends to his wound. He places the bandage on his wounds after applying the ointment.

Cap groans from the pain, "How does Spider-Man fight such formidable opponent? I was only lucky."

After a minute of resting, he begins to find the machine though he was wondering how the three thugs were knocked unconscious. He raises his shield since he is wary of the person that took the thugs out.

Cap was walking across a hallway with unconscious bodies all over on the floor. He stumbles across the room where the machine was. He walks closely to it and pulls out a shrinking disc that he asked from Ant-Man for this mission. When he was about to throw the disc, Cap turns around and blocks a baton that was aiming for his head.

Cap stares at the baton and notices the devil insignia, "So it was you that laid those bodies there, Mr. Murdock."

Daredevil walks out of the shadows with a smile on his face, "Well, I could have need some help if you had defeated The Lizard quickly."

Cap scoffs, "Why are you here, Mr. Murdock?"

"Easy: To retrieve the machine," Daredevil said as he points at machine with his other baton.

"That is not your place, Mr. Murdock. This machine is dangerous and must be contained by The Avengers." Cap said.

Daredevil scoffs, "First of all, I heard that The Avengers were attacked by The Sinister Six. And second, you are in my territory."

Daredevil raises his baton, same with Cap with his shield. The two of them knows that they one of them will have to keep the machine. Cap throws his shield but Daredevil dodges it and begins to run towards the super soldier. Cap throws some punches but Daredevil dodges all of it then he delivers several punches but Cap parried all of them and punches Daredevil which sent the devil flew across the room from the force of the punch.

Daredevil spit a blood and threw his baton at Cap which Cap catches it on midair and throws it back at Daredevil at incredible speed. The devil ducks from the attack and runs toward the super soldier again. He ducks from Cap's left punch and delivers an uppercut which slightly caused Cap to feel the dizziness. Daredevil delivers a right hook at the side of the stomach, then delivers a left hook at the left side of the face, then he grabs Cap's arms as if they are handlebars on a bicycle, and he jumps into the air and onto the ground. Cap was groaning and paralyzed from the attack.

Daredevil was groaning from the pain and pants from the exhaustion. It wasn't easy for a Man Without Fear fighting a World War II veteran who is a super soldier. He knew that Cap was holding back against him since he could potentially crack his jaw without even trying. When Cap was about to get up, Matt delivers a massive right hook to fully knocked him unconscious as he fell to the ground after he executed the attack. He takes the shrinking disc from Cap's utility belt and throws it at the machine. He then puts the machine on his pocket as he carry Captain America over his shoulder with the vibranium shield on his back.

In the next morning after he delivers the boy scout at SHIELD secretly, Matt places the machine at the church where he grew up. Maggie Grace, who is a nun and his mother, watch over the machine with the other nuns. Earlier in the morning, Strange activates the portal when he accepts Charles' suggestion to let Matthew Murdock watch over Spider-Man. He packs his stuff for the trip and said goodbye to his mother before walking towards the activated portal.

Matt remembers something and gave five letters to his mother, "Please give these to Foggy, Karen, Danny, Luke, and Jessica especially the last three since I want them to defend my territory. Okay, m-mom?"

Maggie smiles and nods, "I will, Matt."

Matt returns the smile and sighs as he enters the portal, "To infinity and beyond."

Chapter 6 Ended

Instead of the title being "Side Chapter", I changed it to Chapter 6 since the numbers appearing on chapter select bothers me.

Yeah, Matt will be spying on Spider-Man wherever he goes. I was thinking of revealing Matt in the future chapters, but since this was my first ever fanfiction story I don't really know how to put him.

Also, Matt will only appear on certain events since he can't interfere with Spider-Man's missioj and progress.
