Sonadow Week 2020 Drabbles
So I saw that some Sonadow fans are doing a Sonadow Week and got inspired to make these small drabbles to celebrate it. Always happy to spread a little love through Sonic and Shadow. There might be some mild spoilers to some of my stories and maybe even a peek into future ideas. Enjoy :)

Awakening/Memories
Shadow knows just how powerful one's memories can be.
The happy memories can give you a boost on a rainy day, give you hope that things will get better, and help you appreciate the other good things life has given you even more. The bad memories, the memories one prefers to keep locked away, can drive someone to despair, even madness, and make one believe that there's no hope of escaping their clutches.
For most of his life, Shadow had let the awful recollections of Maria's death and his dark origins take control. But, lately, those memories no longer occupy a significantly large space in both his mind and his heart.
How can he dwell on the bad events of the past when he has two best friends and teammates who are ready to risk it all for him, more friends who have shown him love and kindness in their own unique ways, and, most importantly, someone who's made it his mission to be his own personal ball of sunshine?
But, thanks to Eggman, and his own hurtful words, his ball of sunshine has lost his light.
Now, with his friends, Shadow is in the thick of Sonic's worst memories. And he sees just how much his beloved Blue Blur has suffered. As he watches Sonic's past self wail and scream as he's forcibly taken away from his first real friend's final resting place, he reaffirms the vow he had made to Sonic when they admitted their feelings to each other.
He won't stop loving him. He won't stop taking care of him. He won't stop protecting him. And he won't stop trying until Sonic finds a reason to be happy again. He will be Sonic's light to guide him out of the darkness, his own personal ball of sunshine.
Shadow remembers his vow with joy when those emerald green eyes finally open after two months of sleep.
Mystery/Flow
"Whoa…"
"How does it feel?"
Swirls of green and blue surround Sonic's body as his Chaos Energy flows through his body, calm and steady. Shadow smiles, his own Chaos Energy swirling around his dark form in red and gold, as he holds Sonic's hands.
"It… It feels like I've downed several espressos but don't have that crazy caffeine high combined with a feeling like I'm being hugged all over. So warm…" Sonic murmured, watching his Chaos Energy mingle with Shadow's. Whenever his blue and green swirls interact with Shadow's red and gold, the giddy feeling inside him intensifies and he feels more connected to Shadow, to himself, to Chaos itself. He looks into Shadow's ruby orbs and grins.
"It feels amazing."
Revelation/Radiance
He loves seeing Shadow go Super.
Whenever the black hedgehog taps into the limitless power of the Chaos Emeralds, he becomes a living star.
While Sonic admits that he looks quite spiffy with his golden quills that defy gravity to resemble a crown, Shadow's radiance in his Super Form definitely outshines him. His boyfriend's dark fur turns into this wonderful creamy gold color, bringing out the intensity of his crimson stripes. And when those ruby red eyes look at him… Sonic feels bare underneath that gaze.
Shadow is absolutely stunning whatever form he takes. But Sonic thinks his Super Form might be his favorite.
Peace/Freeze
Sonic lets out a soft sigh as he nuzzles his cheek into Shadow's chest, smiling in his sleep as the biohog's silky white fluff tickles his cheek. Cradled in the cobalt speedster's arms, also snoozing, is Faith. The little tenrec lets out a tiny yawn, her eyes opening slightly to peer up at him. When Shadow smiles, she smiles back.
"Love you, Papa…" Faith giggles sleepily before closing her eyes and falling asleep again.
Shadow lets out a soft chuckle and wraps his arms around the two, reclining on the couch.
It's peaceful moments like these that he wishes he could freeze in time.
Playful/Gravity
Space Colony ARK has, unofficially, become a special hangout for the two of them. With Tails and the rest of the gang pitching in over the years, the abandoned space station has been cleaned and repaired. While there are some rooms Shadow avoids due to the memories associated with them, he is eager to show Sonic around.
Today, he shows him a large chamber surrounded by padding. Sonic is curious, taking off his shoes and making his way to the center of the room. "So what's this room for, Shads?" he asks.
Shadow grins, eyes glinting with mischief, and presses a big purple button on the wall.
And, in an instant, they're floating.
"Oh my gosh! No way!" Sonic laughs as he swims through the air, harmlessly bouncing off the padded ceiling and walls.
Shadow laughs, taking off his jet skates, and joins him in the fun.
Warmth/Flames
The whole Badnik factory has turned into a fireball.
All of a sudden, he's 12-years-old again. And Fatima's house is burning down. Through the flames, he sees her, crying for her Mama and Lola. Then her coal black eyes find his and she stretches one arm out, screaming his name before the fire engulfs her.
He screams and starts running towards the flames only to be held back by someone. His face is pressed into a mound of soft white fur and he feels hands gently carding through his quills.
"It's okay… It's okay… I've got you…"
And then he remembers that Fatima's gone. A sob rips out of his throat and he starts shaking despite the intense heat coming from the inferno nearby.
"It's gonna be okay, love… We're going home now…" Shadow whispers, scooping up his boyfriend into his arms, before nodding to the rest of the team.
The mission was a success. Time to go home.
Power/Spark
Faith's merlot eyes widen as she looks at the seven gems contained in the glass case. All nestled together and shining brightly, each of them capable of giving whoever possesses them great power.
These are the Chaos Emeralds, the gems of power, the greatest treasures of Mobius.
"They're beautiful…" Faith says softly, placing one hand against the glass. This is the first time her parents have let her into the Emerald Room. Out of all the areas in the royal palace, this is the most sacred and the most secret. Only members of the Royal Family and a select few know about the Emerald Room and can enter it.
Sonic smiles and pats his little princess's head. "They sure are, kiddo. And they're chock-full of power. When you're older, your Papa and I are gonna teach you how to use them," he tells her.
"Really?" Faith looks at her hands and summons a few sparks from her fingertips. As if in response, the Chaos Emeralds glow even brighter. "Do you think I'll be able to make big lightning bolts and summon thunderstorms if I use the Chaos Emeralds?" she asks eagerly, making her parents chuckle.
"We'll see, sweetheart. For now, your Dad and I will teach you the basics of controlling your power," Shadow says, motioning to his husband to pass their daughter to him. His expression becomes serious when Faith is placed in his arms. "But, remember, Faith, the Chaos Emeralds are not to be used recklessly. Within each Emerald is a power that can be used for good or for bad. The Emeralds can heal or harm, restore or destroy. That's why your Dad and I are going to keep a close eye on you when it's time for you to start using them," he cautions Faith who gulps nervously and nods in understanding.
Sonic approaches the two. Cupping Faith's face in his hands, he looks her in the eye and says, "Faith, promise your Papa and me one thing: that you'll never let negative emotions power the Emeralds."
"Why?" Faith tilts her head to the side, confused.
Looking at the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic sighs. "The Chaos Emeralds are influenced by their users' emotions. If negative emotions like anger and sadness are channeled into them, really bad things can happen…" he says quietly, his eyes suddenly getting a faraway look.
Shadow reaches for his husband's hand and gives it a gentle squeeze, bringing Sonic out of his somber mood. Sonic smiles at him, the light coming back to his emerald green eyes.
Faith gazes at the Chaos Emeralds, wonder and fear mingling in her heart. She's heard all about her Dad and Papa's adventures together, even the ones that happened before they became the Kings of Mobius. She's heard tales from other people in the kingdom, too. Tales about the dark days when villains like Robotnik tried to take over the whole world, the losses her parents suffered, and how they suffered during those times.
Did they ever use the Emeralds while feeling angry or sad? If they did, what sort of bad things happened?
Realizing that her parents were now looking at her, waiting for her to say something, Faith looks away from the case containing the Chaos Emeralds. She smiles and places her hand against her chest, right where her heart is. "I promise, Dad. I promise, Papa. I won't ever let my negative emotions power the Emeralds. And I will never use them to do bad things," she promises.
Smiling, the two Kings of Mobius embrace their daughter. In time, when Faith is ready, they will help her learn about the Chaos Emeralds and the responsibility that comes with using them along with the responsibilities of her future role as Crown Princess.
But, for now, they will let their little princess have as much of a carefree childhood as possible. And that includes letting her choose which Emerald is her favorite.
"The purple Emerald's my personal favorite. But I also like the red and green ones. They remind me of your eyes," Faith giggles.
"Aw, the red and green ones are our favorite, too, kiddo," Sonic says, kissing his daughter's forehead.
"That's why your Dad and I put them close together on the Coat of Arms. They remind us of each other and how well we work together," Shadow adds, gesturing to the Royal Coat of Arms – a sky blue shield with the Mobian sunflower in the center, crossed with Sonic's sword and his Chaos Spear. And while five of the Chaos Emeralds surrounded the sunflower, the red and green Chaos Emeralds were nestled closely together at the bottom.

Power/Spark: A scene for a Fantasy AU I may write in the future where Sonic and Shadow are the Kings of Mobius and my OC, Faith, is their adopted daughter and, thus, the Princess.
