The Great Hall was abuzz with commotion. People getting ready for the ride to the station to get back home for the holidays. People who were staying discussing what they were going to be doing over their holiday at Hogwarts.

Harry looked up as yet another sprig of mistletoe floated over the table. It hovered over Ron, who was sitting next to Hermione. Both of whom blushed deeply as they looked anywhere but at each other.

"The mistletoe is hanging over you two," Neville pointed out. "Isn't there a holiday rule stating that you now have to kiss?"

"It's more of a suggestion," Hermione said, taking a quick sip of her pumpkin juice. She was obviously unaware that everyone with eyes saw that she and Ron loved each other. "Right, Ronald?"

"Um…" Ron was soon elbowed by Hermione and jumped a bit. "Yes. More of a suggestion, really. Not a rule."

As Ron and Hermione leaned towards each other, Harry felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning around to see who it was because he'd already spent the summer seeing Ron and Hermione kiss, he found Ernie MacMillian standing behind him nervously.

"Hey, Ernie," he said, smiling at the Hufflepuff boy he'd just started dating at the beginning of the year.

"Hey, Harry," Ernie said, fidgeting with something that he was holding behind his back. "I know we didn't discuss if we were getting each other presents or anything...But I…." He held a rather awkwardly wrapped box. "Here you are."

Harry mentally cursed himself for being daft. He hadn't thought about bringing the present that he'd gotten for Ernie down to the Great Hall. He looked at Ernie and the present and smiled, grabbing Ernie's hand he pulled him out of the Great Hall.

"Where are we going?" Ernie asked, running to keep up with Harry.

"The Gryffindor Common Room," Harry said, grinning. "So I can get your present for you."

They soon found themselves standing at the Fat Lady's portrait panting from their long journey from the Great Hall. After giving the Fat Lady the password, Harry pulled Ernie into the common and closed the door behind them.

"I'll just wait here then, shall I?" Ernie asked nervously. Harry had never brought him back to the Gryffindor common room before. Let alone invite him up to the boy's dormitory where Harry slept.

"Nonsense," Harry said, pulling Ernie with him towards the stairs. "You can come with me up to the boy's dormitory. I don't think that anyone will truly mind it if you do."

"Only if you're sure?"

"I am," Harry said, practically dragging Ernie up the stairs. "I think you're going to love what I got you for Christmas."

Heart thundering in his ears, Harry prayed that he'd gotten the Hufflepuff boy the right book. The one that Ernie just wouldn't stop talking about wanting for weeks on end. The one by fellow Hufflepuff Newt Scamander.

Harry opened his trunk and lifted the rather awkwardly wrapped book out of it. He'd never been taught the proper way to wrap a present before. He just hoped that it wouldn't be judged for the wrapping job.

"Here you are, Ernie," Harry said, holding out the book to Ernie and taking the box that Ernie was holding out to him. Harry looked expectantly at Ernie who was looking expectantly at Harry.

"Aren't you going to open it?" both boys asked at the same time.

The two of them burst into laughter at this. Neither of them expecting that the other was going to speak when they had. When the laughter had died down, they both tried again.

"Why don't we open them together?" Harry suggested, feeling the happiest feeling he'd ever felt in his entire life when Ernie smiled at him.

"I like that idea," Ernie said, nodding. "We'll open our presents together."

Slowly counting to three, each boy tore into the paper on their present. Soon the area around Harry's bed was rather covered with shreds of wrapping paper. Harry smiled as he saw the box and opened it. Inside was a fidgeting Golden Snitch from Quality Quidditch Supplies.

"Ernie, this amazing!" Harry exclaimed, looking at his first piece of Quiccitch equipment that he owned personally besides his broom. "How did you…."

"I ordered it from the catalog that Seamus was carrying around weeks ago," Ernie said, smiling at the book in his hands. "I remember you saying that your father was a Seeker too and that was something that you had in common with him. So, I figured that would be a great present for you." He opened the front cover of the book and his mouth dropped open.

Harry could feel his heart pounding in his ears once more. Was the inscription he'd written in the book too cheesy? Did Ernie not like it? What was going on? Harry watched Ernie for a few minutes in silence as he read.

"Sometimes you're just too adorkable, you know that, right?" Ernie said, hugging Harry tightly to him. "Merry Christmas, my Hufflelove!"

"What can I say?" Harry said, smiling up at Ernie as a mistletoe sprig happened to appear over their heads. "My adorkable side is my best side!" He leaned up and brushed his lips against Ernie's. This was by far one of his best Christmas's ever.

I hope you all enjoyed Adorkable Presents as much as I enjoyed writing it.
