Chapter 82 - Flaws

After a while of talking and really calming down, Hachi and Nori decided to try and understand each other better. They both agreed on something to tell Ichi and after saying goodbye to Legosi and Louis, they departed.

By the time they left it was already pretty late. As per usual, Legosi and Louis stripped down after they cleaned everything up.

"So, that wasn't something I expected to happen...ever," Legosi admitted.

"Ever?" Louis smiled at him, despite the topic.

The wolf looked up, thoughtfully. "Well, maybe not. I did see those conversations they had with you, after all. Now, them getting into a fight was unexpected."

"Yeah...I can't believe Hachi of all animals did that. Nori...not really surprised."

"You think him eating meat isn't surprising?"

"I meant the fact that he got into a fight. I didn't see the meat coming, but it makes a lot of sense."

"I wonder what Gouhin-san would say about Nori," Legosi pondered.

"He has to know about omnivores," Louis responded.

"Yeah...I wonder if he's ever had to treat one. I mean, I can't imagine an omnivore going meat crazy or killing anyone over it...unless they were just a murderer in general." Legosi winced a bit at how stupid that sounded.

"Wow. Good one," Louis chuckled. He rubbed Legosi's face softly as they spoke. The wolf was lying in between his legs and they were both on the futon. "But even if he never treated one, he'd still know, right?"

"Yeah. I think regular pandas can eat meat too without problems, but I'm not sure." At this, the wolf huffed some breath out his nose in thought. "I wonder why they're called 'red pandas'. I don't think they're related closely at all.

"Well, the color of their fur...and I guess the fur pattern? You have to wonder who named everything."

"Yeah...and like, did each species name themselves? Did one do it for them? And...and how did language even begin." The wolf could feel his head spin, so he stopped that disastrous train of thought by rubbing his head on Louis' chest.

Louis gave him a helping of rubs. "Think too much about it and your brain might explode, hon."

"Yeah. I should probably tell you about the Shishigumi then. Hard to think I spent the day with a criminal organization from the market, and then I come home and something happens that almost makes me forget about it."

"Oh boy. What happened?"

Legosi scratched at his cheek. "Well, Melon-san kept telling me on the ride there that the members would hate me because I'm a canine, but we ended up getting along, I guess."

"No way. Really?"

"Not right away, but by the end of the visit, they certainly didn't seem to hate me. I even saw that one with the glasses you sent me to for the gun! Ibuki."

"Oh, wow...I know we say this all the time but that feels like forever ago. When I was still in that tower..."

"Your dad doesn't live in a tower," Legosi stated.

"I meant the Horns Conglomerate. You know what I meant, wolf."

"It's not a tower, though!" Legosi complained. "Now is when you're in a tower."

"And I'm not even really in the tower."

"Nope. You're under a wolf," he smiled, showing his sharp canines.

Louis huffed. "And what a place to be..."

"Anyway, I showed Melon-san Pina's notes, and he agreed to be a Plan B sort of deal, but he didn't seem too happy."

"He...did? Really?"

Legosi nodded. "He doesn't want to lose any more of his already small group, as I said. After that we, uh, 'sparred', I guess is the word, but it was more like him trying to get me to hit him to overcome my hesitance to hurt herbivores. Since he can look like an herbivore under certain conditions, he used that to train me."

"And did...you?" Louis' ear twitched.

Legosi shook his head. "I pushed him a few times, and was able to block and dodge him, but..." He sighed. "He wants me to make him bleed. He says I should, next time."

"Oh..." Louis sighed. "Fate and it wanting us to shed the blood of others..."

"Well, a bit different for me, since the animal I need to draw blood from wants it."

"So...will you? What if he's really into it..." Louis cleared his throat.

"What, you think..." The wolf's ears flicked. "I mean, he did say he liked pain, but I don't think it's like that."

"Could he even feel it?"

"I assume so. Anyway, we did that for a few hours and then he had me eat dinner with the lions. They only ate meat, so that sucked."

"And you ate melon," Louis nodded.

"Oh yeah. They even accommodated me like that, although they did laugh at me first, and Melon-san got angry. Overall, though, not so bad? It's just weird because I'm sure they're probably worse than the animals in the Branded...maybe?"

"Wait a few more visits to decide," Louis chuckled.

"I guess," Legosi murmured. "But...I don't feel...too bad? I feel like I should be scared and stuff but...I think I can get through to Melon-san. If not him, maybe Ibuki or one of the others."

"It just...can't be that easy. I'd like to think we could get through to these gang leaders but..."

"Like I said, they're around our age. We might be able to get through to them. I can tell Melon-san is sad and lonely. He just needs...something." Legosi crawled up so his face was next to Louis. "I don't know. At least if it comes to it, maybe we can get most of the Branded to run away."

"The Runaway Brigade," Louis joked.

The wolf blew out some air onto Louis' cheek. "Well, that's how the day went."

Louis kissed whatever part of Legosi was close to him. "Now we're both in it."

"I suppose." Legosi looked up at the TV, now turned off. "This might be bad to say, but the one good thing about that fight breaking out was not having to sit through that movie."

"What was wrong with it? Other than the scariness..."

"Boring. The plot wasn't interesting."

"Just like the movie I was watching before those two came."

"We should get a game console," Legosi hummed. "Although, I think we'd get more visits from Sebun-san if that happened."

"You know how I am~" Louis teased. Then, he blinked. "Ugh, I almost suggested we get a pet or something but it's just too hard with this ginormous roadblock."

"Well, a lot of bugs are low maintenance. And I have the perfect job for finding one that fits our lifestyle," Legosi was beaming and his tail started to wag. "Are you starting to like bugs?"

"I think we could find one that we both enjoy." He thought for a moment. "They don't live for very long, do they?"

"Tarantulas can live up to 20 years!" Legosi got up to a kneeling position now, clearly eager to rattle off more facts from the top of his head.

Louis tried to distract himself from the thighs and length before him. "U-uh huh, yeah..."

Legosi kept talking. "Well, you're probably right that we should wait for a more stable time to get something like a pet. We already have Haru's plants."

Louis' smile disappeared. "I...completely forgot."

"I've been watering them," the wolf assured. "They're kind of like pets."

"You're too good..." Louis sighed, laying back and looking at the ceiling. Any more of that view and he'd...

"So, what should we do with the rest of our night?" Legosi asked, lying down next to his husband.

"U-uh...um..."

"Hm? Something wrong?"

"N-nothing, deer, I mean dear!"

Legosi snaked his hands around Louis' body. "You can tell me. I mean, with all we've been through."

"Nothing is wrong! At least, here!" Louis' cheeks grew hot.

"Oh..." Legosi blinked. "Are you...in the mood? Because I've been...careful since that night, you know? I've been giving you space."

"I...know. I know. Wait, what night?"

"The night you...you know. The night you freed those kids..."

"...What happened again?"

"Well, I tried to comfort you and you said you weren't in the mood. So I've made sure to let you make the first move if you wanted to do anything," Legosi explained.

"I thought you were the one who didn't want to do anything because of all of this...Don't worry, I haven't used the toy, either."

"So...uh..." Legosi looked down and blushed.

Louis smiled again. "That means a lot. That you were respecting me like that."

"Of course. Even if we could never have sex again, I'd stay with you." Legosi ran his big tongue along Louis' forehead.

After another cleanup and another shower, the two boys settled back into their futon with the blanket thrown over them. Legosi was curled up next to Louis, both boys happy with their most recent sexcapade.

Legosi stuck his nose into Louis' neck, tail picking up the covers as it wagged in anticipation.

"Good boy..." Louis continued, stroking his arm, softly. "Such a good boy."

Legosi hummed in complete contentment, strong arms wrapped around his husband as he received the praise. He gave a few licks to his cheek when he couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Mmm...I keep thinking about those essays..." Louis started.

"Oh yeah..." Legosi nestled into his chest. "Still seems like a weird thing to do for a couple..."

"I feel like it makes sense, in a way. List each other's flaws so we can work them out. But it's just...hard with you."

Legosi nodded. "Yeah...and I don't know if it's fair to list a flaw if it's something we've worked hard on getting better at."

"Then it's not really a flaw anymore, right?"

"Exactly. I'm stumped."

"Same here." He scratched his chin. "Maybe...your morning breath."

"There's a start," Legosi conceded. "Well...a flaw of yours is not accepting my morning breath," he teased.

"How can anyone? It's...something."

"I like your morning breath. It smells like vanilla wafers." Legosi licked his cheek again.

"Vanilla...how?" Louis blinked. "And I assure you, yours doesn't."

"It has a sweet smell in the morning," Legosi insisted. "Also, it might not be fair, but a flaw of yours is not having a good nose. But that's just a deer thing."

"A good nose?" Louis blinked. "It's not cute enough for you?"

"It's very cute! But you can't smell as much as I do or know how important smell is to canines." Legosi suddenly gasped. "Oh, I know! You're a cheater when we play video games!"

"Ooh...you got me there..." Louis swallowed. "Hm...you're really quiet when we're with other people."

"That's bad?"

"I don't know. Uh...You insert your wishes onto others? You're kind of a pushover? I don't know. Those aren't flaws to me."

Legosi flicked an ear. "I insert my wishes on others? What's that mean?"

"Like...you know how dogs do...For example, that hug with Nori."

The wolf's ears drooped. "Well, if he didn't want a hug he would have said something."

"No...agh, you know what I meant!" Louis groaned.

"Uh, I guess so." Legosi chewed his lip, trying to think of more.

"We both know our big flaw is our dependency on one another."

"And even that's getting better. Maybe my flaw is thinking too highly of you?" The canine accentuated this with a chuckle.

"Do you?" Louis asked. "I got us into this mess."

Legosi shook his head. "No, Ichi did. You blame yourself for too much."

"Is that a flaw?"

"I suppose. We should list anything we can, right?"

Louis nodded. "Yes. Maybe me breaking up with you could be added too..."

"Well, that's in the past...Plus, she knows about that whole story."

"I know...This is a lot harder than I thought," Louis sighed.

"Well, we got some, at least. If that's all we can think of that's still valid." Legosi returned his nose under the deer's chin. "Sex is definitely not a flaw~"

"More than definitely not," Louis laughed. "And you used to be so shy and innocent."

"Are you upset?" Legosi teased.

"We just did it on the table. No, I'm not upset."

"I ate you out on the table back at Cherryton. Remember?"

"Boy, do I," Louis laughed. "There were no flaws that night."

"So, with last night and tonight, I think it's safe to say we're in the clear? With instincts, that is." Legosi twirled his claws on Louis' clavicle. "Like, unless maybe either of us was in a weird mood that might trigger it, but we're doing some pretty intense things and coming out fine."

"There was blood all over the apartment earlier..." Louis whispered.

"That had nothing to do with us," Legosi murmured.

"It was still herbivore blood..."

Legosi pulled back to look Louis in the eye, confused. "Yeah? It was."

"And you handled it so well," the buck's lips curled into a proud grin.

"Oh..." Legosi smiled back. "Yeah, same with the meat at the Shishigumi. I'm able to ignore smells like that easier."

"I wonder how..." Louis said. "I mean...what could have changed?"

"I'm just...getting better."

Louis squeezed him. "You'll become the ultimate wolf."

"Mmm, glad to hear it."

"Well, hopefully, the next time we do it we don't have as big of a break."

"Oh, definitely. Also, do you think you'd have to go to the tower on Friday, or will you come with me to the eye doctor? We can pick out my frames after I get a prescription."

"I definitely want to go with you," Louis said. "Seeing you in all the cute glasses would be fun."

"It's a date then. Hope I can walk straight by Friday..."

"You were limping up quite a storm on the way to the shower..."

"You did that," Legosi growled. "How does that make you feel, dirty deer?"

"It makes me feel good. Your body knows you're mine, too."

Legosi yawned. "Mmm. We should do something special next time."

"We will. I promise." The buck moved to kiss him.

The wolf kissed back. "I look forward to it."
