Chapter 3: Mighty Morphin' Mix-Up

Out of the many inhabitants of Toku Town, one group that made up a large portion of the population was the Super Sentai. One of the most iconic teams in particular were the Zyurangers, the first sentai to be based on dinosaurs. The entire team was enjoying a picnic with their individual mecha known as the Guardian Beasts. Each one acted like a pet to their respective ranger. They were gifted to the team by Daizyuzin after their season had wrapped up. All was peaceful until a portal suddenly opened up only a few feet away from the sentai team!

"Huh?" Tyranno Ranger was puzzled as he stood up and summoned his power sword. Gently prodding the portal. "Where did this thing come from?"

"More importantly, where does it lead?" Mammoth Ranger asked as he scratched his chin.

The whole team had the same question on their minds, but their curiosity gave way to caution as they noticed the portal began to ripple! It looked like something was going to shoot out of it!

"Everyone out of the way!" Ptera Ranger cried out!

The sentai members either hitting the dirt, or hiding behind some nearby bushes! Sure enough, the portal spat out something in a bright light before stabilizing! When the light died down, the sentai peeked out from their positions to see what came out of the portal. What they saw was something unbelievable! Or rather, six unbelievable somethings!

"Is that. . . US?!" Dragon Ranger asked in disbelief!

Each of the Zyurangers were completely shocked to see what looked like identical counterparts to themselves lying on the ground with swirls in their eyes! Quiet murmurs came from the dinosaur sentai, but they were soon silent as their doubles began to move!

"Oh man . . . is everyone alright?" The Mighty Morphin' Red Ranger groaned as he shook his head and dusted himself off. The rest of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers following suit.

"It appears we're all intact." MMPR Blue answered as he took note of his friends' condition. His eyes widened when he noticed six identical individuals standing across from them. "Well, aside from a case of double vision."

The other rangers were puzzled from hearing this, but any confusion was soon cleared up when they saw the Zyurangers staring at them. Both teams were completely silent for a few seconds before registering each other's presence.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" Both teams of heroes screamed as they summoned their power weapons! Each team prepared to go into battle!

"Who are you?!" Tyranno Ranger demanded as he pointed his power sword at the MMPR team! "And why do you wear our uniforms?!"

"Same question for you!" MMPR Red shot back! "Why do you look like us?! You even have our zords!" MMPR pointed at the pet-sized Guardian Beasts with his power sword!

"We are. . . " Tyranno Ranger declared as he and his team posed before crying out their sentai name in unison!

"KYORYUU SENTAI! ZYURANGER!"

"Kyo-what?" MMPR Black tilted his head in confusion.

"Kyoryuu." MMPR Blue answered his friend. "It means 'dinosaur' in Japanese. And sentai means 'squad'."

"Well, now that you've told us who you are, we'll tell you who we are." MMPR Red declared. "We're the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers!"

The Power Rangers quickly got into their own poses, and were stunned to see they mirrored the Zyurangers' poses!

"Hmm. Well, we know they're not clones or Putty replicas." MMPR Blue stated as he observed his team's sentai counterparts. "Which leads me to believe we're in another dimension."

"Can we stop posing then?" Tiger Ranger asked. "I think my legs are gonna lock up."

Both teams of heroes breathed a sigh of relief as they dropped out of their poses and stretched.

"So where did you all come from?" Ptera Ranger asked as she looked over her MMPR counterpart. "Our home is called Toku Town."

"Ours home dimension Rangerville." MMPR Yellow answered. Her sentai counterpart surprised to hear a female voice! "Blue here was working on a little project of his to view other dimensions. But I guess it worked too well."

"Hmm." Mammoth Ranger scratched his chin. "It's going to be difficult for us to tell each other apart. Especially since our suits are identical."

"Oh! I know what might help!" MMPR Pink exclaimed as she pulled out a sheet of stickers that looked like her team's power coins and slapped them on her and her friends' chests. "There! Now we have an easy way to tell us apart! And pretty stylish too!"

"So now that we know each other, how about you show us around?" MMPR Red asked. However, the sudden growling of his and his friends' stomachs growling! "Sorry! We didn't have lunch before we got sent over here!"

"Good thing we've got extra." Ptera Ranger beamed. "We always make a little more in case our Guardian Beasts decide they want a bite."

"Yeah, our zords can be a handful sometimes." MMPR Pink nodded. "But we still love them to death."

And with that, both teams of heroes began chatting about their lives in their respective dimensions. Needless to say, the Power Rangers were shocked to hear about so many other colorful heroes populated this world!

"Whoa." MMPR Black said in amazement. "I bet the bad guys don't stand a chance with so many of you guys at the ready!"

"Oh, the villains don't cause much trouble aside from a few pranks." Mammoth Ranger told his counterpart. "Or they try to beat us in a variety of contests. Karaoke, sports, even card games."

Meanwhile, the reds of both teams were looking at pictures from their respective worlds. Tyranno Ranger was surprised to see a few counterparts to his fellow sentai missing from the rangers' home.

"Looks like there's some other differences between our dimensions." Tyranno Ranger said as he looked at the two pictures.

"Well, there's one thing in common between our worlds!" MMPR Red beamed! "They're filled with heroes!"

Both teams let out a hearty laugh before polishing off the rest of their food. The Power Rangers looked at the time, and realized they had to head back home.

"Well, we'd better get back before our friends worry." MMPR Green said as he and his team waved goodbye to their Super Sentai counterparts.

"Next time we'll bring over another team to meet their counterparts!" MMPR Blue called out. "After I get the portal properly working!"

"Farewell Power Rangers!" Tyranno Ranger called out. He then came to a realization! "Wait! How are our fellow sentai going to tell the difference between your other ranger friends?"

"Don't worry! Ptera and I came up with these!" MMPR Pink called out as she showed a picture of a t-shirt design with the letters P and R and a lightning bolt between the letters. "See you all next time!"

And with that, the Power Rangers returned to their own world. Leaving the Zyurangers with their Guardian Beasts.

'I hope they bring some more dinosaur teams with them next time!' Tyranno Ranger thought to himself as he and his team cleaned up and headed for home. 'It'd be cool to see all our giant robots in a dance-off!'
