Chapter 9: Plot Hunt

Author's Note: This chapter will mark the first appearance of Godzilla Jr. He'll be in his Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla incarnation. I figured it would make for a cute setup considering I've made Gojirin his mom. That being said, on with the chapter!

Godzilla snored happily as he lay on his bed while sunlight beamed through his bedroom window. Sundays were lazy days, and today was no exception to that rule. However, the King of the Monsters' slumber was soon interrupted by the pleasant aroma of breakfast.

"Hmm. Rin's cooking." Godzilla mumbled as he rose from his bed and stretched his arms and tail. Making his way to the kitchen, he was met with a figure like him save for a pink tint to her scales and spines. This was Gojirin. Godzilla's wife. "Mornin' Rin."

"Morning, Goji." Gojirin smiled. "Jr. should be up soon. Knowing him, he'll probably pour himself a bowl of cereal."

"The breakfast of a future king." Godzilla chuckled as he sat down. Yes, this was how it usually was at his house. However, as he took a bite of his food, something felt off. Not with the cooking, but with the whole world around him. It was as if something was off in the world around him. "Hmm."

"Morning Mom and Dad." Godzilla Junior said as he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bowl and cereal box.

"Any plans today, son?" Godzilla asked as he took a sip of his coffee.

"Funny you mentioned that." Junior said as he scratched his head. "I felt like there was something I was going to do, but now I don't. Weird."

Silence reigned for a whole minute before Godzilla bolted up from his seat in realization! His sudden rising catching Gojirin and Junior off-guard!

"THE PLOT!" Godzilla screamed in horror! "THE PLOT'S GONE!"

"Dad! What's wrong?!" Junior asked fearfully as he saw his father scrambling about the house! Searching the entire residence for what was missing!

"The plot's gone!" Godzilla explained! "Without it, we have no way to progress things!"

"Oh dear. . . " Gojirin gasped.

"It's gotta be somewhere, right?" Junior asked nervously.

"It does, son." Godzilla nodded as he picked up the house phone and dialed up the police. "Hello, police? The plot's gone missing! Yes, I've been looking for it all this morning! Okay, thank you." With that, Godzilla hung up. "They're sending out the police-based sentai."

At Toku Town's police department, two teams of super sentai had been assembled. The Dekarangers and the Patrangers. Both teams of police-based sentai were sitting attentively in the meeting room as Dekamaster approached the podium.

"Alright, everyone." Dekamaster addressed the assembled sentai. "We've received a call that the plot's gone missing. I can confirm that this is indeed serious as I've no idea what's supposed to happen today. That being said, we must scour the entire city in search of the plot! This is something we can't afford to not find! MOVE OUT!"

"YES SIR!" The Dekarangers saluted as they mounted their vehicles! Be it patrolling the city on bikes, or by riding in cars. Meanwhile, the Patrangers were speculating how the plot had gone missing in the first place.

"Maybe the plot was stolen." Pat Green suggested as he scratched his chin.

"Then our suspects are either Kamen Rider Diend, or the Lupinrangers!" Pat Red declared!

"I don't know about Diend." Pat Pink stated. "The plot's important, but I don't know if that's something Diend would consider a treasure. And the Lupinrangers have been running their café and only steal that which was taken so they can give it back to the people who had it taken from them."

"Hey, either of you think the Space Sheriffs are going to get involved in this?" Pat Green asked.

The answer to Pat Green's question lay in the reaches of space. High above the earth, a space station orbited the planet. Throughout the station, many similar beings in metallic armor went about their business. These were the Space Sheriffs. And the most famous them, Gavan, was just getting off the phone with Dekamaster.

"Right." Gavan nodded. "We'll be monitoring the whole situation from up here too. In addition to dispatching any personnel to assist." After hanging up, Gavan turned his attention to the monitor. Scanning for any resemblance of a plot.

Back on the planet, every citizen of Toku Town was out searching for the plot. Anguirus was sniffing around town for a trail, Rodan was patrolling the skies to get a bird's-eye view, Kamen Riders were patrolling the streets on their bikes, and a few other super sentai teams had joined the police-based sentai in their search. Heck, even the villains were helping by sending their armies of mooks sweep the city! Unfortunately, everyone came back empty-handed.

"Ugh! The whole city's been turned upside down with this!" Godzilla grumbled as he threw himself onto the couch with Anguirus laying next to him. "And what do we have to show for it? Nothing! Not even the slightest trail of the plot!"

"Yeah. That's pretty disappointing." Anguirus sighed. "Wanna watch TV?"

"Sure." Godzilla shrugged.

Meanwhile, the Lupinrangers were busy cleaning up their café after the Patrangers had torn the place up searching for the plot. They were not too happy about the sudden search or the aftermath they had to clean up. Something Lupin Yellow made abundantly clear as she kept beating Pat Red with a broom as his partners dragged him out of the café.

Back at the police department, the police-based sentai hung their heads in defeat. All their patrolling and searching, and nothing related to the plot had shown up. They were all fairly disappointed that their efforts turned up nothing.

"It looks like there's no sign of it." Deka Red sighed as he munched on a donut. "Nothing to be done about it now."

"Hmm. A bit of a shame." Dekamaster nodded. "I'll put this in the case log." Dekamaster powered up one of the station's computers and filed the case results. However, the notification of a new email caught his eye. Curious, he opened the email to see what it entailed. He was surprised to say the least but breathed a sigh of relief after reading it. "Actually, nevermind! We've done exactly what we needed to!"

"Hm?" Deka Blue tilted his head in confusion. "What do you mean sir?

"Have a look." Dekamaster showed the email to his officers. "Today's plot was to hunt for the plot! So in the end, everything worked out! Doesn't that put your mind at ease?"

The only response he got was all of Toku Town collectively falling anime-style with their legs in the air.
