Chapter 10: The Next Generation

Godzilla Junior hummed to himself as he slipped on his backpack. The weekend had come and gone, and Monday heralded the arrival of the school week. Junior eagerly marched over to Mothra's house and smiled when he saw the twin Mothra larva crawling out the door.

"Hey Lea and Leo!" Junior waved to his friends!

"Hello Junior." The twins replied in unison.

"Another day in the classroom's waiting for us." Junior said as the three of them made their way to school. "So. What did your mom pack you guys for lunch? Sweater scraps?"

"Very funny Junior." Leo pouted as he inched along the sidewalk with his sister.

"Come on. Lea. There's worse bug jokes." Lea giggled. "He could've called us-"

"HEY! Stupid insects!" A loud voice called out! Standing in the trio's path was a green, ogre-like kaiju with knobby skin. He was sneering down at the Mothra larva. "Bugs like you better get lost! I don't take kindly to creepy crawlies like you getting in my path! Mover or get squished!"

". . . Who the heck are you?" Junior asked with a confused look on his face.

"HUH?!" Gabara's jaw nearly hit the ground! "You're telling me you don't know me?! Gabara?! Tormentor of Godzilla's son?!"

"Shouldn't you be, like, way older then?" Junior asked as he scratched his head. "Hm. Maybe you just didn't grow up at all. I'm pretty sure my dad would've remembered a bully like you."

"Wait! You're that shrimp's kid?!" Gabara asked in disbelief!

"Uh. . . yeah?" Junior answered. "Godzilla Jr. Future king of the monsters."

"Hah! This is too perfect!" Gabara sneered down at the monster prince! "If you're anything like your old man from when he was a kid, then you're probably just as much of a scaredy-kaiju as he w-"

Gabara didn't get to finish as he received a bop right to the nose!

"AAAGGHHH!" Gabara wailed as he clutched his face in pain! "How can someone so small hit so hard?! OW!"

"Can you please move?" Junior asked with an annoyed look on his face. "My friends and I need to get to school."

"Oh, no you're not!" Gabara growled as his horns started to glow purple! "You're gonna pay for slugging me in the face! Once I get my hands on you I'll-"

"SEEEIYAH!" A voice cried out! A red and blue blur sped up to Gabara and kicked him in the face! While the bully was stumbling, the figure grabbed him by the leg and spun him before throwing him into the air and positioning his arms! "SHUWATCH!"

A specium ray fired from the figure's arm and hit Gabara dead-on! Causing an explosion upon contact! When the smoke cleared, a charred and unconscious Gabara fell to the earth! His eyes swirls from the beating he'd received! When the dust settled, it was revealed that the figure was an Ultra Warrior! Not just any of the Ultra Warriors, but the son of Ultra Seven! Ultraman Zero!

"You're 20,000 years too early to beat me!" Zero boasted at the defeated form of Gabara! He then noticed the trio of young kaiju taking in the scene. "Oh, well if it isn't the next generation of kaiju royalty!" Zero gave a playful bow to the trio who smiled.

"Thanks Zero." Junior chuckled. "I would've blasted him with my atomic breath if he kept annoying us."

"Hey Zero!" Another Ultraman, Ultraman Taiga, called out to his friend as he landed. "Where's that Z kid you were mentoring? I figured he would've been taking notes on how you handled Gabara."

"Z's probably waiting at Ultra Academy." Zero answered. "He's shaping up to be quite the Ultra Warrior!"

"Hmm." Taiga scratched his chin. "You know, it's weird. Here we are. Each of us representing the next generation of our respective series. All we're missing is Kamen Rider Zero-One and the Ryusoulgers. Wonder what they're up to?"

The answer to Taiga's question lay across town. Kamen Rider Zero-One was riding on his motorcycle, and he couldn't help but notice the dinosaur sentai teams were throwing a party for the Ryusoulgers. It reminded him of when the previous Kamen Riders had thrown a welcome party for him.

'It's nice seeing the different generations of heroes coming together.' Zero-One thought to himself. He was about to continue his drive but paused when he saw a bunch of Shocker Combatmen marching with a spider-like kaijin leading them. 'Huh? Who're these guys?'

"So, you're the latest Kamen Rider, huh?" Gumo, the spider kaijin chuckled maliciously! "Tremble Rider! For before you are the great army of Shocker!"

". . . Who?" Zero-One tilted his head in confusion, and the Shocker army fell flat on their faces!

"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" Gumo screamed as he got to his feet! "We were the original enemy of the Kamen Riders! Our name was even mentioned in the original theme song! We've revived many times!"

As Gumo continued his rant, Zero-One whipped out his phone and started calling Ichigo.

"Uh, Ichigo?" Zero-One asked as he spared a glance back to the assembled Shocker forces. "A bunch of weirdos are blocking my way. They call themselves Shocker. Any ideas on how to-"

"SHOCKER?!" Ichigo shouted from his end of the call! Zero-One was so startled that he nearly dropped the phone! All Zero-One could hear on the other end was the sound of running footsteps and bike engine rumbling! Mere seconds later, Ichigo had arrived on Cyclone! Glaring down the Shocker forces!

"How many times do I have to teach you this lesson?!" Ichigo screamed at the Shocker forces as he dismounted Cyclone! "Zero-One! Care to lend me a foot?"

"You mean 'lend a hand' right?" Zero-One asked.

"No." Ichigo shook his head as he crouched down! "I meant a foot!" And he leaped into the air!

"Oooh! I get it!" Zero-One nodded as he too jumped to the sky!

"RIDER KICK!" Both grasshopper themed riders screamed as they descended upon the Shocker forces! All the minions were sent flying while Gumo was hit so hard he made a crater! Two footprints were on the spider kaijin's face as he fell to the ground with a thud! Ichigo dusted off his hands and nodded in satisfaction upon seeing the unconscious Kaijin carried away by a squad of henchmen.

"Huh. Neat." Ryusoul Red remarked as he took a sip of his punch. "I wonder if there was a time when all the sentai teams had to band together."

"Oh there was." Tyranno Ranger said as he grabbed a piece of cake. "It was called the Legendary War. All the Super Sentai teams prior to Gokaiger took part in it."

"Then there was that time your team, ours, and the Kyoryugers crossed over with the Go-Busters." Aba Red chimed in. "That team up was almost purely dinosaur sentai."

"Who knows?" Kyoryu Red chuckled. "Maybe the next big sentai crossover will be all the dinosaur-based teams!"
