AN: Sorry, this chapter took so damn long! I was sick and struggling to write it to be honest. After three tries I just decided to stick with my gut, but any feedback on how to make it better is strongly appreciated.
Chapter 4: Jaunelvania
Jaune noticed Aqua's expression turn from its normal arrogant deminer to a far more serous one as she approached him. Her fists clenching at her sides. "I've seen what creatures like you can do in other worlds. "She spoke, "I won't let the same thing happen here as well."
"Interesting…So you've been to other worlds as well but I shouldn't be too surprised given what you are, but I'd say you're a bit late with that since this world is run rampant with the Grimm."
"I'm aware. That problem will be dealt with in time." She frowned. "I won't let you cause any more harm of your own."
Jaune allowed a smirk to form. "About what I am…No one will ever believe you."
Her eyes were cold and her normally happy and unpredictable personality was stoic and dark. "I don't need them to. You'll be gone by morning." With that proclamation she pulled back her fist "Goddess Requiem!" Her fist connected with his gut sending him flying into the middle of the courtyard leaving a large crater where he landed.
A pain unlike anything Jaune had ever experienced shot through him. It was as if the very cells of his body were struggling not to be vaporized into nothingness. Just getting back on his feet seemed like a daunting task, but he managed it as he spat up blood.
The surprised look on Aquas face would have been priceless had this been any other situation. "I have to admit that one hurt…A lot."
Her expression turned into pure anger. "That should have purified you on the spot."
"Well, I guess I'm not entirely what you think I am. My father used to be one of the highest beings of light. Second to only Michael and my grandfather of course."
The realization seemed to hit her like a brick. "No that can't be…Then that means- "
Jaune didn't let her finish as he extended his long skeletal wings and dashed at her delivering a punch of his own. He was not very strong on his own physicality, but the combined velocity from gliding added the extra pressure he needed to send the Goddess flying back into one of Beacons courtyard pillars. The impact caused the pillar to break on top of her, but she made her wake back to her feet seemingly only slightly worse for wear.
Aqua coughed slightly as she stood up. "Even if I can't take you out in just one hit…I'll still destroy you." As she charged at him "Heal." Her body glowed slightly for just a moment until she made contact with another divine punch.
Once again, the devil was sent flying and ended up creating another crater to the school's once pristine ground.
"You're a lot faster than you look…" He remarked before vomiting up even more blood.
At this rate I'm fucked!
Jaune glanced around and noticed there weren't any other students still outside. With all the commotion, however, it probably wouldn't be long before someone comes out to investigate. If it was a teacher then things would really get troublesome… Even if she made the first hit and he pleaded self-defense, he couldn't risk getting expelled and he wasn't willing to back down from her ether.
"Looks like I need back up."
Aqua huffed as she held her side.
That hurt more then expected. To think I'd have to use heal after only one attack.
The blond in front of her bit his thumb and created a strange blood seal in the air.
He's a summoner!?
"Mary come forth to my aid."
Aqua watched in disgust as a horrendous amount of blood seemed to pour out of the drainage pipe near her feet, causing her to jump back in response. The blood quickly took the vague form of a young female.
The stench from the amount of blood there was made the goddess reel back in disgust as she attempted to cover her nose. The crimson liquidity girl started to move towards her slowly before collapsing onto the ground and washing over it like a red tide, this time circling around her.
Heh, he picked the wrong type of monster. I am a water goddess after all!
They were soon interrupted by voices of their teammates however.
"Aqua!"
"Jaune!? What's going on!?"
"I-Is that blood!?"
She and her opponent turned to see a few groups of students had come out to the courtyard to investigate the loud noises they no doubt were hearing. Her and Jaune's teams were out along with team RWBY and CRDL. Team CRDL was led by an arrogant student named Cardin Winchester. He and his team loved to pick on students they thought of as weaker than them or any of the faunus students in general.
"I was just defending myself against your teammate is all." Jaune shouted back to Kazuma and the group.
Aqua gritted her teeth. "I know none of you believed me before, but he literally summoned a familiar made of blood. If that's not evil, then I don't know what is!"
"For your information she's a ghost not a familiar!" The devil shouted back at her.
With the exception of her team the rest seemed rather taken back by the literal bloody sight before them.
"Both of you should knock it off before you get in trouble." Megumin warned. "If we heard it then I'm sure campus security will be here soon."
The fact that campus security wasn't already here was actually rather odd. Surely, they would have gotten here before the students. A few other random groups of students were already starting to gather at the late-night commotion. Clenching her fist once more she knew she needed to finish this before anyone could get hurt. Who knows what this craven devil would do when backed into a corner?
Zariel could smell it. He was close.
The creature sniffed into the air before leaping across the rooftops. The weight of his jumps caused the buildings under him to shake slightly with each landing, but that did little to concern him while on the hunt.
The abomination and the false idol are close… The others may not care, but I won't allow this blasphemy to stand any longer!
Jaune could sense something horrendous coming his way and judging by the way Aqua stopped mid charge she could sense it too. Its spiritual pressure was intense, but corrupted and foul.
"Jaune? What did you do now?" Aqua accused turning to him.
"Me!?"
The conversation was interrupted as a small but sturdy humanoid landed in the center of the courtyard. Its face and body seemed completely alien in nature with no actual facial features other than a large mouth. Small white wings hung off its back with black blinking eyes dotted on the middle of them.
Ah shit! Is that a fucking angel!?
Jaune wasn't sure what rank it was but he could guess it was relatively low rank by how small the creature was. The larger the angel was the higher rank it tended to be. Not that it really mattered much in this case. Judging by its twisted amount of spiritual pressure it could probably take on both him and Aqua easily.
"I-Is that some sort of Grimm!?"
"Ew, it looks so gross."
"How did something like that make it through the city's defenses?"
The student's ramblings only seemed to agitate the creature even more as it started to snarl uncontrollably before looking at the devil and the goddess.
"It's all because of you!" The creature howled hideously. "OUR FATHER LEFT BECAUSE OF YOU!"
Everyone cried out in agony at the creatures loud screeching. Jaune wiped some blood out from his ear drums before turning to Aqua who seemed to be faring little better.
"This motherfucker." Cardin groaned picking up his mace. "I'll take it out!"
"Cardin wait!" Jaune called out, but his warning fell on deaf ears. Possibly literally…
The headstrong mace wielder didn't even make it close. A large tendril shot out of the angels back and decapitated the young huntsman on the spot.
Some students shrieked, while others just stood there in shock as Cardins head hit the ground and rolled all the way back to Ruby's feet while his body fell to the ground in a gory mess. For Jaune time seemed to slow down as he gazed upon the grizzly sight. Ruby didn't even scream or cry out, but her eyes started to seemingly leak silver as she stood there. Cardins dead eyes looked back up into hers as she started to shake. Yang quickly grabbed her and pulled her away from the site.
Move dumbass! You and everyone else are all going to die otherwise.
Jaune mind finally kicked him back into high gear as he turned to the water goddess. "Aqua! Can you hear me?"
She nodded. "I can."
"Go resurrect Cardin and keep the other students back. I'll handle this."
The goddess looked at him like he had lost his mind. "What!? Why would you do something like that?"
We don't have time for this!
"Just do it! No one else knows what we're dealing with here and they'll just get killed."
Not waiting for her to argue with him, he ran towards the angelic creature. The angel instinctively shot a tendril at him, but Mary was quicker and formed a shield of blood around him before freezing around the tendril and snapping it off the angel. The divine beast cried out in pain as it attempted to leap into the air with its short wings. Like his familiar before him the devil was quicker and used the momentum of his wings to dash forward and wrap himself around the angel.
The angel in turn latched onto his body and started to pull. Jaune cried out as he could feel his skin and muscle start to be pulled apart by its supernatural strength. The young devil knew he had no way of actually of hurting this creature, let alone live long enough to take it out. All he could do was hope his cold bloody plan worked.
Mary now!
But master you'll be caught in it too!
Just do it!
With the angel's attention on Jaune it didn't notice Mary sink into the ground and begin to wash over them and trap them in a liquid bubble of blood. He could feel his strength fading fast as he started to suffocate in the liquid bubble but didn't allow himself to let go. The temperature started to drop dramatically as he and the angel began to freeze together inside.
The angel squirmed and cursed at him before its large mouth opened. Rows of shark like teeth descended down causing Jaune to feel a sharp pain and then nothing at all.
Aqua had managed to revive Cardin with his head back intact much to the surprise of everyone but her teammates. He was still unconscious but with a nights rest he would be good as new again. Her team on the other hand were more shocked or frankly just plain horrified at what had just happened to Jaune.
Mary's frozen bloody form faded into nothing causing Jaune's bloodied remains to fall to the ground. The top half of his body had not only been completely removed, but bits and pieces of flesh and bone had been spit out onto the ground.
"J-Jaune?"
"Don't Ruby!"
Yang was holding Ruby back. Her eyes were still strangely glowing as the young girl struggled to comprehend the site before her. Yang was a lot stronger however and managed to pull her sister back and make her face her.
"Look at me Ruby. Aqua just brought Cardin back to life okay? She'll fix Jaune right up too." Yang tried to sound reassuring but she herself was shaking. Her voice was starting to crack.
"Kazuma let me use explosion." Aqua heard the arch-wizard beg behind her.
"No, it would totally destroy everything around that creature as well. That includes Jaune's body and Aqua wouldn't be able to bring him back." The goddess wasn't so sure she would be alive long enough to bring anyone else back. Her purification attacks wouldn't work on a creature like an angel but she doubted anyone else knew that, however.
Some of the weaker students that had come out to investigate had attempted to flee back inside the school but noticed they couldn't actually reach the entrance. "We can't get back into the school! It's like there's some sort of invisible barrier."
Shit! We can't even flee!?
The rest of team JNPR and CRDL weren't going to just take their leaders' deaths lying down. While Russel, Sky, and Dove focused on attacking the creature with melee; Ren, Nora and Pyrrha decided to focus on using the ranged aspects of their weapons unleashing a storm of bullet and grenade fire on top of the angel. However, such attacks proved to do little against it. The members of CRDL all had their attacks blocked with ease before they themselves were all knocked to the side like rag-dolls. Thankfully, it didn't seem that the angel was too interested in killing them and perhaps the first kill with Cardin was merely meant not just in self defense, but a form of psychological warfare against its true prey.
Darkness rushed up to the goddess. "Aqua I'll try to keep you and the others covered. Maybe you can use Sacred Dispel on the invisible barrier so the others can get to safety."
The rouge angel wasn't having it however, and moved to tear into the goddess, but was held back and brought crashing back to the ground by glowing jet-black tentacles that seemed to originate from some unknown source.
"Shit, looks like I didn't make it back in time before all the fun started."
The purple haired girl appeared out of nowhere. What really caught Aqua's attention was the black glowing gloves she was wearing that seemed to be the source of the tentacles.
"Gaz? What are you doing back here?" Blake asked surprised. Not that any of them weren't thankful for the unexpected save. The angel struggled hard against the tentacles, but couldn't break free, however it did manage to turn its head all the way around to face Gaz.
"You foul girl.I'll devour you!"
"I decided to stop by and make sure you and Jaune made it back safe." The purple haired goth ignored the angel and glanced at Jaune's remains. "And now I'm rather pissed my drinking buddy got torn to shreds."
Gaz started to move her hands, allowing the restraints on the angel to loosen so it only restrained its arms and legs. "Sorry Cupid, but these gloves were given to me by the big D himself. They are a bit above your pay grade."
The angel howled in defiance as Gaz moved her hands again and this time the angel was forced to copy her movements. "Like it?" She smiled as she continued. "I call it the controller since it lets me take control of someone or something like a game controller. Just like this." Making a downward motion with her thumbs the angel howled in pain as some of its tendrils started to forcefully extend from its back far into the air.
"You dare!? You think you can bind an angel of the lord?"
The goth gamer laughed. "Oh, spare me. We both know God isn't not home. And I know that because of that you can not only be controlled… But killed." The angel's tendrils stopped moving into the air for a split second before turning and came crashing down through the angel, causing the rouge servant to howl in pain one last time before falling silent. A white goo oozed out of its wounds before quickly disappearing into the ground.
Everything went silent as Aqua just stared at the dead angel. Her heart was racing as she finally started to notice the relief wash over her and Gazes tentacles vanished back into her gloves.
"Hey, the barrier is gone!" A student shouted.
"Yo goddess! You better bring Jaune back to life or you're next." Gaz threatened.
"Oh, um, right!" Aqua snapped out of her daze as reality seemed to smack her in the head all at once. She ignored the threat as she rushed over to Jaune's decaying corpse and begin the resurrection spell.
The last thing Jaune excepted, was to find himself in such a familiar environment after being half eaten by an angel. He was what looked like a void of pure darkness much like the abyss he loved to lose himself in back in Hades. This darkness felt a bit different however, a bit lighter...So he knew he wasn't back home.
"So, you're finally up. Was beginning to think you weren't ever going to get off your ass."
Jaune sat up in the pool of darkness and gazed upon a black hooded figure. His hood failed to hide his skeletal face however and it was rather evident to him that this was a reaper.
"Well, I have to admit I never thought I'd be meeting a reaper in person."
The angel of death gave a soft chuckle. "Think just because you're the son of Lucifer you would never face death someday?"
The prince shook his head. "No, it was never about genetics, more like that I figured my cowardice and self-preservation instincts would prevent me from dying of anything other than old age if that."
The reaper walked over to him and materialized two chairs and a table for them to sit at. "Well your actions leading up to your demise were pretty contradictory to that."
Jaune took a seat across from the reaper. "True… If my father saw me give my life in an attempt to save people, I can only imagine how disappointed he would be in me." He shrugged. "Not that I have to worry about that anymore. What's next for me now that I'm here?"
The reaper looked at him in silence for a moment before explaining. "Gaz took care of the angel and the goddess Aqua is already working on bringing you back to life."
The devil was of course taken back. "Huh? No way...That girl hates my guts. I figured she would see it as a good opportunity to be rid of me."
"Not when everyone knows she can resurrect the recently deceased. Her friends would never let her live it down for once plus Gaz pretty much threatened her to. And two, do honestly not think that charging headfirst and sacrificing yourself might not have changed her opinion of you?"
Jaune frowned. "I shouldn't be brought back."
"And what makes you say that?"
"Not only did I fail to stay alive, but I also died trying to help people. That's a big no where I come from. It would be better for me to be buried here and forgotten."
The reaper gave a soft sigh. "I don't envy you kid. I get the position you're in, but did you honestly never consider that there could be more to your life than trying to be evil and someday drag entire universes into Hell?"
"Well of course I thought it. But in the end, it's always the universes fault for allowing itself to be corrupted in the first place. Makes it really easy to generate the energy we need to invade."
The reaper sighed. "Is that how you really feel?"
"Of course." Jaune nodded.
The reaper waved his hand and small hologram of the Malachite Sisters appeared on the table before them. "Tell me Jaune how do you feel about these two? You've only really known them for a couple hours in person."
Jaune was a bit taken back at both the question and the sudden appearance of the twins. "Well I like them okay, I guess. They were nice and fun to be around I suppose…"
The reaper nodded. "Good, good. So how would you feel if something like this were to happen to them…"
All at once flames started to consume the twins causing them to cry out in agony before being reduced to gory ashes and bone.
"W-What was that about?" Jaune asked.
"How did that make you feel?" The reaper repeated his question.
"I feel fine?"
"You're lying."
"No, I wasn't…"
"Jaune we both know what happens to the worlds Hell takes over. I saw the way you squirmed over seeing two girls you'd only met hours ago be burnt alive. Now imagine that fire was never ending, and their pain went on for eternity."
Jaune looked down. "Did that really happen to them?"
"No Jaune, it was just a simulation as to what could happen to them after Hell takes over. The real twins are still safe and sound."
"Okay…"
The angel of death leaned back seemingly pleased with itself. "Like I said you're not fine with that. That means you have some good in you and can't be the heartless creature your dad wants you to be. You've shown kindness and tolerance to people you've only so recently met. Of course, that's just further proof on top of you sacrificing yourself in an attempt to protect the students back at Beacon."
At this point Jaune was starting to get frustrated. "What's your point? If don't then my father or a million other infernal creatures will just kill me and burn the world to the ground anyway. It's not like I could even become some sort of pure hearted hero even if I wanted to." In truth the very thought made the prince want to puke even in death.
"I'm not asking you to. All I'm saying is in time you grow stronger. In time maybe you make your own path." The reaper glanced down as a watch materialized out of nowhere. "And with that we are out of time I'm afraid."
"What!? Wait a minute-"
"Sorry kid you're being brought back to the world of the living right now."
Jaune felt a warm tingling sensation start to course through his undead body.
"Good luck kid! Hope I don't see you back here too soon." The reaper waved and with that Jaune felt life return to him in force once more.
By the time Jaune's eyes opened most of his memories of the other side where hazy and quickly slipping away. He could still remember the reaper and something about forging his own path but not much else.
"You're finally up."
The prince was surprised to see Aqua kneeling beside him. The fact that she had revived him felt like a shock, but that was quickly drowned out as his teammates and friends he supposed he outta call them that by now came beside him.
"Jaune, thank goodness you're okay now." Pyrrha smiled, offering a hand to help him up.
He took it and was greeted by similar sighs of relief from Nora and Ren. He found apparently, Gaz had killed the angel and left with its body not long after Aqua started the resurrection process.
Thankfully everyone seemed okay for the most part.
"Ruby was pretty shaken up after seeing you and Cardin bite the dust." Darkness explained. "But she seemed to feel better after Aqua brought you both back to life."
"That's good." Jaune nodded. "Where is team RWBY right now though? I don't seem them anywhere."
"After the angel was killed the barriers went down and Ozpin and other staff started questioning students as well as checking for other injuries. He knew you were in good hands with Aqua it seemed so he's going to save the questions he has for our team and yours until tomorrow while they focus on tending to everyone else for right now." Megumin added.
That's a lot to take in…
"I see. Well if it's all the same for everyone else then I'm ready for bed."
The others agreed but Aqua stopped him.
"Hey Jaune…"
"What's up?"
"I just wanted to apologize for being such an ass. But I know you're not a natural type of creature and I've fought things like you before. But! Some of them had actually become allies of ours, so I guess change is possible for anyone. Or at least they were never actually completely evil to begin with…"
The blond wasn't too sure what to say to that. He felt more awkward than anything about the sudden apology and as far as he was concerned gods and goddesses never tended to apologize for anything.
"Well, if what you say is true, then I'd certainly be interested in meeting these allies of yours sometime." The thought of creatures like him changing seemed rather unlikely and silly, but until he saw it with his own eyes, he could never know one way or another for sure.
"I'm sure you can someday." The goddess smiled. "Anyway, have a good night."
"You too…And thanks for not leaving me to rot."
"Well, after what you did… It would seem rather cruel to do so."
Makes sense.
The devil and the goddess parted ways to their respective dorms. As Jaune entered his dorm he addressed his teammates as they were getting ready for bed.
"Hey everyone… Look, I'm not great with these sorts of things, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry I acted like an ass the past few days and none of you really deserved that. I was mostly angry with Aqua though, but I guess I and her aren't mortal enemies anymore… For the moment." He shrugged.
"It's alright. I mean if someone was always trying to start trouble with me, I'd be pretty annoyed too." Pyrrha smiled at him.
"Yeah, she was the one always starting stuff with you. Next time I wouldn't recommend skipping class though." Ren agreed.
"Thankfully, we all chipped in and got you the notes from the classes you missed." Nora added.
Jaune wasn't sure why, but he thought this apologizing thing was going to be far more unpleasant than it had been. It seemed mortals could forgive a lot easier than demons ever could. In Hell one slight mishap could cause a blood feud that could last several generations. The prince even remembered the short but bloody hot-dog war in one of the poorer regions of Hades, where a demon had bought the last hot-dog in stock in some rundown shop, but there were two more demons behind her and a three way turf war between their families ensued.
Never mind that there would have been more hot dogs within the hour. It was the pride and the principle of it he supposed.
"Thank you everyone. I'll try to make it up to you all for doing that."
"Of course. But...We do have some questions. Not just us, but team RWBY as well." Ren added. "We don't mean right this second, but I hope we can talk more about it tomorrow after we are done with the headmaster?"
"Yeah, that's fair. I don't know that much myself, but I'll tell you all what I can." He lied.
"That's all we are asking for." The boy smiled.
That was to be expected Jaune figured, weather he just meant his powers or everything about the angel he wouldn't know until the following day. His powers were easy enough to lie about and just say it was his semblance. This worlds basically strange term for superpower. As for the angel? He of course didn't know the full story behind the attack himself, but he would tell what he could and lie where he had to.
With their simple good-nights the prince crawled into bed and began drifting off to sleep.
As Aqua shut the door behind her, she wasn't surprised when Kazuma had asked her if she was harassing Jaune again despite just bringing him back from the dead.
"On the contrary, I actually apologized to him. But I'm still going to keep my eye on him. I didn't tell him that part, though…"
"I get it." Kazuma agreed.
Aqua blinked twice. "Wait, really? You're not going to yell at me for that last part?"
"No." Her leader sighed. "I mean with all the stuff that happened tonight, it's pretty obvious more stuff is going on behind the scenes then we originally thought."
"And Eris did say the enemy of this world is unlike anything we have faced before. It would make sense to keep an eye on him until he actually tries something, otherwise we shouldn't be so hostile and if possible, sway him to our side. We've done it before." Megumin agreed.
"I can only imagine what sort of horrible, hideous creature is lurking behind the scenes… Want to have its way with the mortal woman of the land!" Darkness foamed blushing.
"Damnit Darkness. I swear after this is done; I'm using the wish Eris is giving us to fix that masochism of yours." Kazuma groaned.
"But I want a pet dragon." The arch-wizard interjected.
"What on earth would you do with a dragon?!"
"I could wish for any sort of vile creatures to…" Darkness started to blush and mutter to herself in the corner.
Aqua sighed but smiled. It was good to see that even though the scenery changed, her team was still the same for the most part.
As the water goddess hit the showers she contemplated on her own wish. Normally the very idea itself seemed silly since she was goddess and could have whatever she wanted in her own realm, but she felt like thinks were lacking or at the very least becoming stagnant before she was sucked into adventuring with Kazuma. Being among humans again, interacting and partying with them, she realized how dull just guiding the souls of the dead had been for her.
Still what more could someone like her want? More liquor? Potato chips? An endless supply of gold? Such things seemed trivial back when she was in the afterlife, but now she felt conflicted and her desires seemed to be come more like that of humans.
What is it that I really want?
There was also a hint of fear. The thought of another insane angel coming after her and Jaune because of their origins seemed extremely unlikely since Heaven was known to be extremely strict on vigilante behavior not authorized by Michael. And she doubted Heaven would want any sort of risk of another incident like this happening again since it would of course draw negative attention to them from all sides.
Still the future seems wackier than I could have ever thought possible…
Ren could see the ruins of Beacon Tower or otherwise known as the CCT. He had grown and his hair was down to his back now. This future version of him had snuck ahead of the fighting that was currently going on in the background between his friends and their allies against hideous looking creatures mixed in with humanoid soldiers wearing jet black armor.
It was surprising to see the inside appeared to be empty. Perhaps the beast didn't see any point in keeping any of its soldiers as guards on the inside. The empty halls were dark and eerie as the banner of the enemy hung off the walls and inside various rooms. As Ren reached the top of the tower his various fears of his foe not being here were thankfully shattered upon entering the headmaster's former office.
The doors opened without any difficulty and his foe stood there alone glancing down on the battle below with seeming disinterest.
His blond hair had grown and thickened a bit over time as he turned to face Ren. His attire seemed more befitting of the so-called dark lord that he was. His common and rather bland civilian clothes he wore even in battle were replaced with black plated armor with strange looking symbols and enchantments on them. His sword was still inside its hilt, but the red runes could still be seen glowing through it.
The twos reunion was silent at first as the blond devil gave him little more then a knowing smirk. This infuriated Ren even more as he drew his weapons to engage the monster.
"Jaune I'll vanquish you and your kind from this universe. You'll never belong here!"
Jaune looked even more amused. "Oh? But this universe like all the others before it invited us. Your own kind always seem to find a way to call us forth with praise and tribute."
"Tribute!?" Ren scoffed. "Your kind steal men's souls, their freedom!
The devil paced around the room like a shark about to circle his pray. "Freedom is always sacrificed to faith good huntsmen…Or are you truly here by choice?"
"All I'm here for is you. To Hell with your heresy! You're nothing but a blight on mankind."
The dark lord laughed. "Ha! Mankind. A cesspool of hatred and lies. Fight for them…" Drawing out his sword and spreading his dark bony wings simultaneously. "And die for their sins!"
Jaune awoke from the strange dream. Although he anticipated on eventually conquering this world starting with Beacon, he hadn't expected it to be Ren of all people to challenge him alone. Aqua, Pyrrha, Ruby or even Kazuma seemed like the more likely contenders, but then again, he knew so little about these people. He himself certainly hadn't expected to look or sound as edgy, but maybe time would tell as to if there was an actual reason for it?
Assuming the dream wasn't just a random edgelord moment within his sleeping subconscious, then maybe it was an potential sign or a vision of things to come? If that was the case, then it would probably benefit him to pay more attention to those around them, what their capabilities and weakness were.
The easiest person to start would probably be Ren.
And since Ren was the one his dream that seemed to be the most important place as well.
Perhaps a guy's night out is in order.
The prince smiled as he went back to bed with ideals already swirling around in his head.
AN: I know it was far from perfect, but I hope you enjoyed! And yes I did make a Castlevania reference cause I'm a huge nerd.
