Welcome back! Now I know that last chapter might of been a little fast, but in this chapter I will slow down. Well anyways I hope my laptop doesn't delete my work again. Now on with the story!
Mewni AU
"So Moon what do you have planned today?", Marco asked.
"Well since it has been one day since the operations, so you can be up on your feet. But just try to not strain your muscles, ok?", Moon explained, " As for what we should do today I think I will show you around the castle."
"Ok let's go"
After Marco finished his sentence Moon helped Marco up from the bed. When his feet landed on the floor he could feel pain shoot ups his legs. Marco winced as it still hurts to walk, but it was bearable. "Are you ok?", Moon asked as she noticed him wincing. "It's ok", Marco said reassuringly. Marco then took a few steps to prove his point. Moon rolled her eyes and said "Boys" before leading Marco out of the infirmary. Before they left the head doctor asked if Marco was alright, but Moon assured the head doctor that Marco was alright. Satisfied with the answer, the head doctor left to attend to other patients. Marco was wondering where Moon would take him, but he was curious to see how the castle stacked up to the one back in his reality.
Moon contemplated where she should take Marco first. She thought about several locations such as her room, the throne room, the queen's office, and the royal garden. As Moon thought about where to go, she felt her stomach grumble with hunger and realized they should probably eat something. Moon then decided to take Marco to the dining hall in the castle to get breakfast. As they were walking, neither of them noticed they were holding hands. When the guards from yesterday saw the two pass by the guards immediately gossiped about it. "I told you the boy was her boyfriend", said a guard smugly before making a 'pay up' gesture. The other guards grumbled as they dropped coins into the victor's hands. This bet went unnoticed by Moon and Marco as they were almost to the dining hall. When they reached the dining hall, Moon stopped and said, "Well here's our first stop, the dining hall."
"It's so big!", Marco gasped. It was at least triple as big as the dining hall back in his own dimension! There were far more tables in this hall of dining and he could see royals and guards mingling together. There were large chandeliers at the top of the hall made out of gold and silver that lighted the hall. There were large pillars at six points in the hall that had strange carvings in them. While Marco was admiring the hall he, began to hear his stomach growl with hunger and realized how hungry he was.
"Um Moon could we get something to eat", asked Marco while rubbing is stomach.
"Of course Marco. That's why we're here", Moon grinned.
They than started to order food from the hall. Marco decided to get corn meal with some milk while Moon got some chocolate cake with sweetened milk for breakfast. As their food was being brought Moon decided to try to get to know Marco better. She wondered what she should ask him. 'Should I ask him about his reality?' thought Moon 'Or should I ask him about his general life?' Moon finally decided to ask Marco what the other reality was like. Just as Moon was about to ask Marco, the food was done. They immediately found a table and sat down to enjoy their food. As Marco was happily munching on his corn meal, Moon asked, " So how's your breakfast."
"It's surprisingly good. How about you? Also do you normally eat cake for breakfast?", said Marco.
"It's great and I love sweets so I like to eat sugary food," explained Moon, " Anyway I was meaning to ask you on what your reality's Mewni is like."
"It has many kingdoms, but the biggest kingdom is the Butterfly Kingdom. There of course other kingdoms such as the Johansen Kingdom, Spiderbite Kingdom, and Ponyhead Kingdom. The Butterfly kingdom's current is Moon Butterfly with her husband River," Moon's mood soured at that and Marco noticed this, "They have a daughter named Star Butterfly who is my best friend. She is currently dating Tom Lucitor of the underworld."
Moon then noticed how after Marco said the last part he looked somber. 'Does she have a crush on Star?' wondered Moon. That could explain Marco's sudden change in mood. Moon knew how he was feeling as her crush River was with someone else and coincidentally a Lucitor. Even though she was still sour after hearing her alternate version had River, Moon wanted to cheer Marco up but how? Perhaps she could let Marco watch her practice magic? Or maybe I can assk him what he wants to do?
As Moon was thinking Marco was also deep in thought. 'So Moon isn't with River?' Marco mused. Then he realized that Moon probably didn't have a boyfriend judging from her reaction to River. Marco then felt bad for her as he could tell Moon had feelings for River. 'Maybe I can help her' though Marco. Marco then looked at Moon and she seemed to be thinking about something. Marco decided to place a hand onto her shoulder and asked, " Are you alright Moon?"
Moon snapped out of her thoughts and said, " Oh I'm alright Marco. I was just thinking, do you have a crush on Star?"
Marco mentally kicked himself for being so obvious before replying, " I do Moon. Do you have a crush on River? "
"I do, but he's dating someone else", sighed Moon.
Then she put on a brave face, "But I want to cheer you up Marco. You seem down after mentioning Star, so I want to ask you what do you want to do?"
Marco stared at her in silence as he thought what he wanted to do. Marco wanted to keep exploring, but at the same time he wanted to see what Moon did normally. Marco thought about what type of activities Moon would do normally. Then he realized that Moon had to practice magic like Star so in the end he decided to see how Moon practiced magic. Marco finally said, " I would like to see you practice your Magic Moon."
"Sure thing Marco", Moon winked as she put away her dishes.
Marco soon put away his dishes and caught up with Moon who was waiting for him at the exit. They both walked out of the hall together while holding hands unknowingly. Marco could see that the hallways of the castle were similar to the halls of Butterfly Castle from his own reality. They both had portraits on the halls lined with statues of important people in them. He wondered what other differences were in the two castles. One big difference was that there were no pictures of Star but instead Moon. He saw that Moon looked rather bored in all of the portraits and chuckled at that. 'Both of them hate official business' Marco thought. They were both alike in several ways realized Marco. As they were walking down the hallway to her room, they ran into Comet.
"Hi Mom", Moon said.
"Hi Queen Comet", Marco said quickly.
"Hi sweetie, did you get a boyfriend?", asked Comet.
"What that's ridiculous!", they both shouted at the same time.
"Well your hands tell a different story", Comet said knowingly.
Moon and Marco both realized they were holding hands and immediately pulled their hands away. They were both blushing as they looked like a couple. Comet smirked to prove her point, and Moon and Marco had faces of embarrassment. Moon laughed nervously at her mom before trying to explain to her mom what is going on before she gets the wrong idea. "Uh Mom it doesn't look like what you think it is. Marco is the boy from another reality and I was just going to my room to practice the reality crossing spell."
"I see Moon, well if that's the case then I'll be leaving you too", Comet said as she left before adding, " If you need dating advice you can ask me."
"MOM!", Moon facepalmed.
"Well that was awkward", they said at the same time in an uncomfortable tone.
"Let's get to your room before anything else happens", Marco said.
"Agreed."
They both hurried to get to her room before anyone spots them together. They were given odd looks by the guards, but they ignored the guards. After another five minutes they were at Moon's room and breathed a sigh of relief. They both started to laugh nervously before closing the door behind them. They couldn't believe they were just holding hands together. They then began to loosen up after realizing they were alone. Moon looked at Marco, who was panting, and let out a sigh of relief. As she pulled her book to the center of her room, both of them said, "That was close."
After saying that they looked at each other weirdly before both of them saying "Whatchamacallit!" at the same time.
They both jumped at that and Moon pointed her wand at Marco before both of them started to laugh nervously. Marco was shocked as the only person that could say the same thing at the same time with Marco was Star, and that was only after the Blood Moon Ball. But yet Moon could do the same thing already. 'Was there something special between us?' thought Marco. Marco thought that Moon looked even cuter when she was laughing.
Moon meanwhile was surprised that Marco said the exact same things as her but at the same time. 'That was even weirder than mom seeing us holding hands' thought Moon. Moon had no idea how Marco managed to say the exact same thing as her, but was determined to find out how he did it. Moon stopped laughing before giving Marco a playful punch. "You are such a dork Marco."
"But a handsome one", Marco grinned.
"I know", Moon replied while she opened her book to the chapter of Vega. Marco wasn't that surprised to see that this reality had a book of spells. He then wondered if Glossaryck still liked pudding in this reality. Marco then began to look around Moon's room. Marco noted how Moon's room was far more organized and clean than Star's room. 'Star could learn a find or two from Moon' Marco chuckled to himself. He saw at the middle left of her room had what looked like a king sized bed with covers draping the bed. Marco then saw that the room had a second floor just like Star's room. Unlike Star who kept lots of toys and weapons around; Moon kept bookcases around her room with a large desk opposite to her bed. All the books were neatly organized with clear labeling on them. Marco could see a bathroom and a large closet towards the northern end of her room. 'All in all a nice room' thought Marco.
Moon finally spotted the spell she needed after flipping over pages for a few minutes. She grinned triumphantly before turning to Marco. "Here's the spell that should get you home. Now I will need to practice this spell as it hasn't been used for a few centuries."
"Don't worry Moon we got all day", Marco nodded.
"Alright let's do this!", Moon yelled in excitement. She grabbed her wand and raised it above her head before chanting the words "teleportos dimensional reternocos timeless!". When she said the spell, a large red portal erupted in front of her that had a black center. Wind was blowing through Moon even though there was no wind outside. 'She looks so bad ass when she is in that pose with the wind blowing through her hair' stared Marco in awe. After two minutes of sustaining the spell, Moon couldn't handle the strain anymore before collapsing, and the portal disappeared. Marco rushed to Moon's side to see if she was alright. Moon then gave a thumbs up to show she was ok as Marco helped her up. Moon looked up at Marco before both of them said at the same time, " That was so awesome."
They both chuckled, "We got to stop doing that."
Moon then began to laugh and soon Marco joined her as well. They soon began to ask each other questions about their lives and both learned a great deal about one another. Marco learned that Moon hated attending to royal meetings and had a dislike for being serious. Marco was saddened that her Mom was a single as Moon's dad died and was a touchy subject. Marco was amazed that before she got her wand she could cast magic by herself and this surprised him. Star could only recently cast spells without her wand. Moon explained how she would practice on average four hours a day practicing her spells to improve her skills. Marco was impressed by Moon's abilities and wondered if Star could learn a thing or two from Moon. Moon then told him about her crush with River. She bitterly recalled how River was now dating Janily Lucitor and her recent conversation with River. 'She does feel the same way I do right now' thought Marco sadly.
Moon also learnt much from the exchange of information. She learned that Marco had just turned 15 a couple of months ago. 'He's the perfect age for you to date' Moon blushed at the thought. She also learned that Marco was proficient at karate and could fight when the situation demands it. Moon was shocked at how Marco met Star and how Star could of gone to the horrible St. Olga's. Marco gave a run down on how he went on adventures with Star and when Marco told her about Toffee, Moon's mood darkened. 'How could someone be so evil' thought Moon in disgust. Moon was horrified at what lengths Toffee made in order to harm the Butterfly family. Moon promised to look into more powerful spells to protect her and Marco. Then Marco told her about how recently Star was beginning to ignore him and this made Moon feel bad for him. 'Poor Marco' thought Moon.
When they were done with the exchange with information, they both realized that it was already early evening. They were both starting to get hungry so they decided to get some food. But Moon had a better idea by calling the royal chefs through her mirror. Moon asked Marco what he wanted and he said that he wanted to have corn cobs with grilled chicken. Moon then ordered herself some steak with a side of sugary corn. The chefs said they will have the food ready in 15 minutes. Marco then asked, " Do you really have to get something sweet every meal? "
Moon grinned as she said, " Of course Marco, you know I love sweets. "
Marco rolled his eyes before telling Moon, "Today was a great day, thank you Moon."
"On it was nothing Marco", Moon blushed. Then she brought a bored game out. She pulled out her favorite bored game, monsters vs Mewmans. "It was a game where the monsters and Mewman's ways war against each other," explained Moon, " Now I know such a thing probably won't happen as relations between the two races are beginning to become better. In fact I am one of the main supporters of the efforts to integrate monsters with Mewmans. "
'Wow she's like Star at wanting to have equal rights for monsters' thought Marco. Marco then chose the monster's side in the bored game while Moon chose the Mewman side. Moon explained how each side gets unique advantages and disadvantages to make the game more interesting. There were defensive and offensive moves both sides could use, and they could sacrifice a turn to get a random power card. Power cards could either negatively or positively affect the person who used them. When Moon finished explaining the rules,they both went right at it. Moon started with an offensive into Marco's territory while Marco countered her attack by using guerilla tactics against Moon. When the food came the servants just laid the food on the ground and left without batting an eye. They played the game as they ate there dinners. It was getting around midgame as Marco had captured some of Moon's land while Moon captured more of his land. Moon was already impressed at how good Marco was with strategy.
"Marco you are the best opponent I have faced yet", complimented Moon, "But you will still lose."
" I wouldn't count on that yet", Marco smirked as he flipped the Septilians power card.
Moon's eyes widened in shock as the Septilians were perhaps the most dangerous monsters yet and could only be defeated with intense amounts of magic. Moon in respiration did a risky maneuver that risked her queen hoping to catch Marco off guard. She positioned her queen at the front while moving her army around the Septilians.
Marco grinned and said, "Surrendering already?"
"Not quite", said Moon as she placed all her faith in getting a good power card. When she got the card Moon grinned devilishly at what she got. It was the Solarian Warriors power card that for one turn turns all soldiers into the ultimate soldiers that could defeat any monsters. Moon knew if she played her cards right she still has a chance to win the game.
Marco then attacked her forces with his Septilians to weaken Moon's forces. Marco inflicted fourth percent casualties in Moon's army. Marco laughed triumphantly before seeing what Moon placed down and what he was was shocking. In one swift move Moon used her Solarian Warriors to wipe out his Septilians before Marco could react. Before Marco could react Moon said, " Ready to give up? "
Marco fought on, but they both knew that the game would go to Moon without a miracle happening. Marco lasted for another twenty minutes before losing to Moon. It was an intense affair as if Moon did one misplay, she would lose. Of course Moon didn't make any mistakes, and Marco groaned as the last of his lands was captured by Moon.
"How are you so good? " , asked Marco in amazement.
"Well I study strategy and that's your answer. I haven't lost a game of Mewmans vs Monsters in two years ", Moon said victoriously.
Moon then let out a yawn as she realized that they have been playing for a long time and it was already late evening. Moon decided to take a shower and change into pajamas. First she put the game away as Marco was sitting on his bed waiting for Moon. When she was done she said, " I'll go take a bath Marco." Marco nodded his head while Moon got her clothes in her closet and picked a purple nightgown with a dark purple diamond in the center. She then went to the bathroom and shut the door.
Marco sat there alone at Moon's bed before laying down. 'Today was amazing day' thought Marco 'and her bed is super comfortable'. Marco had a blast today and his time with Moon cheered him up. Marco had to thank Moon after this and wondered how they could stay in contact after he left. Marco felt saddened to leave Moon, but he knew that the time would come when. He wanted to be friends with Moon as she seemed like a really nice person. If Marco was being honest to himself, he actually liked Moon's personality better than Star's as Moon was thoughtful yet at the same time daring. 'Wait am I actually falling for Moon' blushed Marco.
Meanwhile Moon was taking a bath and reflected on today. Moon had another great day with Marco and wondered if her mom was correct. She could already feel she was falling for Marco already even though they had just met. 'Marco is quite handsome' Moon blushed 'Maybe I can ask Marco to show his reality to me'. Moon frowned when thinking that Marco would leave eventually. She wanted to make every moment with him count. She had more fun in two days than she ever had with River. 'Marco certainly cheers me up' Moon sighed in love. Eventually Moon finished her bath and changed into her pajamas before leaving the bathroom. "Marco the bathroom's open if you need it!"
Marco nodded his head before asking, "What am I going to wear?"
Moon realizing this facepalmed before answering, " Well I guess I can just magic up some clothes. " Moon raised her wand and instantly conjure d some clothes up. Before giving Marco the clothes she told him , " Just keep your old clothes because we need them to make th spell work properly. "
Marco nodded his head before grabbing the clothes in Moon's hand and headed to the bathroom. As Marco took off his clothes and turned on the water, he briefly wondered if Moon had any feelings for him before shaking his head. Marco then got into he bathtub as the water was almost full. 'Ah this feels nice' Marco thought. He then started to clean himself quickly so he could see Moon. He started to drain the water after five minutes in the bath. Marco changed into the clothes Moon gave him and grabbed his old clothes into his hand. He then opened the door and saw Moon waiting for him in the bed.
"You can put your clothes under my bed", Moon said.
"Thanks Moon."
As Marco was putting away his old clothes, he wondered where he will sleep. He decided to ask Moon about this. "Moon where am I going to sleep?"
Moon looked slightly flustered as she answered, " Actually can you sleep with me? You make me more comfortable. "
Marco was about to say I'm not sure when he saw Moon's puppy eyes. 'That's too cute to resist' blushed Marco. "Ok Moon you win."
Moon grinned and moved aside so Marco could have some room on the bed. As Marco laid down, Moon blushed at the thought of sleeping with a boy again. When Marco was tucked in, she snuggled right next to Marco and hugged him. "Good night Marco" , Moon said as she turned off the lights with her magic.
"Good night Moon" , Marco replied. Even though it felt weird sleeping with a girl, Marco enjoyed it if he was being honest with himself. Moon's hugs were comforting and reassuring. Marco hugged Moon back and felt her soft hair. 'She's so beautiful when sleeping' Marco though before he fell asleep.
Unknown to the two of them the Moon turned red, as if giving it's approval to the two of them.
Mewni Prime
Star Butterfly had a blast with her boyfriend last night. She and Tom watched two movies together they both shared jokes with each other. Star fell asleep with her boyfriend on her couch as they watched a third movie. When they woke up Tom had to leave to attend a meeting in the Underworld, but promised Star he would be there tomorrow. Star could hardly wait for Tom to come tomorrow.
So why wasn't she completely happy? For one Star was still grounded by her mom for another three day, and that bummed Star immensely. Most importantly however was the fact that Marco seemed to be nowhere. She checked the entire castle for Marco after not seeing Marco for the majority of the day. After that didn't produce any results she asked her mom about it, but her mom hasn't seen him either. Star even contacted Marco's parents and was shocked when neither of them had seen Marco recently.
'Where are you Marco' thought Star. Even though she told herself that Marco was ok, there was still a small part of her that had a nagging feeling that things would be getting a bit too weird for even her. She had no idea how right she was.
And that concludes this chapter! Moonco is getting stronger by the minute. The red moon is indeed the Blood Moon giving its approval. Anyways my laptop actually decided to save my work! I am planning to release a new chapter every day in the week days and a chapter in the weekend. Please let me know how I did. Until next time Peace!
