The tentacle had wrapped itself around him, suctioning to his suit to the point of pain. With a gasp, it pulled tighter, threatening to crunch bone. If he had the means to yell he would have, but another tentacle anticipated his movements and slapped another tentacle over his mouth. The metallic stench of ectoplasm filled his nose. It was futile, he realized, when the others wouldn't have heard him anyway. The octopus pulled him backwards in the air, closer to the natural ghost portal that was left open, but only for another few moments. If the ghost managed to pull him in, he didn't know how he was going to get back out.

The bird-a-rang suddenly flew by his ear and he felt the whoosh of the air as it sliced right through the glowing tentacle that had covered his mouth. With a high pitched shriek, the ghost released him and Phantom inhaled sharply with the sudden intake of air. He fell to his knees as someone behind him took a few seconds to suction the octopus out of thin air into the Fenton thermos, its indignant cries never ceasing.

"Took you...long enough." Phantom gasped through short breaths that were quickly leveling out.

"Heads up." Robin said.

Danny turned in the direction Robin was facing and shot out an ectoblast on reflex. The ghost that crept up behind him shrieked at the contact, but he didn't wait to suction it into his own thermos that was now incorporated onto the forearm of his suit. When the deed was done he took another breath and turned to the leader.

"Thanks." Danny said. Robin held out a hand to pull him up to his feet and Phantom accepted with a sheepish smile. Robin then clasped his shoulder with a light squeeze and a light smirk.

"Don't mention it."

Then they jumped back into the fray of the fight, together.
