Star couldn't believe what she just saw. The Blood Moon had just betrayed her! The Blood Moon had just paired her Marco with a complete stranger he only met a few days ago. The Blood Moon had abandoned her in favor of the newcomer. Star was subconsciously growling now, and Tom was shocked at seeing Star's reaction. Tom tried to ask her what was wrong, but Star simply ignored Tom. She could only stare at Moon and Marco with a sense of jealousy and hate growing in her. Star's body began to tremble from anger. Star's hand balled into fists, and Kelly, Hekapoo, Janna, and Ponyhead noticed Star's sudden change in mood. Kelly asked Star cautiously, " Star? Are you OK?"
Star only growled in response as she let her hatred take over. Soon people around the hall were staring at Star. Her body was shaking with her crying. Queen Moon saw this and she was worried at what would happen. Moon and Marco stared at Star before Marco asked, "Star?"
Star slowly grinned vividly at Moon before roaring, "You turned Marco against me!"
"What are you talking about?!", Moon yelled in shock.
"You stole Marco away from me and now you will suffer!"
Star's body suddenly erupted in a golden light, and Star emerged from the light in her butterfly form. It wasn't her usual butterfly form as there wee red streaks across her body with her cheekmarks now skulls. Star viciously said, "Game on."
Star immediately casted 'dagger crystal heart attack' to try and kill Moon. Moon managed to narrowly dodge the attack and screamed, "I didn't want to fight you Star but so be it."
The ensuing fighting would be told on for generations as the fight was the most brutal and spectacular duel that has ever occurred. Moon shot out blue bolts of lightning towards Star, and Star was forced to summon a shield to protect herself. Moon followed up her lightning with a variant of Star's dagger crystal heart attack that had diamonds instead of hearts. Star blocked the attack and shot out a rainbow beam of death that destroyed part of the hall. Everyone who was still there left in terror, and only a few people stayed behind to witness the fight. Moon ducked from the beam, and she shot a azure beam that managed to injure Star. Star's injury however only managed to enrage her even more as she shouted, " Thermonuclear Butterfly Blast!"
A giant orb of glowing magic was hurled towards Moon's direction that caused a third of the hall to blow up in a spectacular fashion. Moon began to become angrier and summoned the Magical Storm but in a concentrated lightning version. She directed the blast to Star, and Star had no choice bot to summon in a shied or she would be vaporized. The blast of the magical Storm Storm completely destroyed the hall and killed anyone who was in the way of the blast. Moon began to smirk, believing she had won, but she instantly snarled when she saw Star emerging from the rubble. Star was still alive yet injured, and Moon could see Star had a toothy grin. "Impressive, but now let's see how you do against one of my tricks", Star giggled hysterically.
"Spider with a top hat!"
Immediately there was a spider with a top hat that stared at Moon for a second. Moon at first was puzzled at why Star summoned the spider before Moon saw the hat rotating. Several barrels emerged from the top hat, and Moon realized the top hat was in fact a gatling gun. The spider yelled, "War!", as his gatling gun shot. There were hundreds of magical bolts streaking towards Moon. Moon however just raised her hand, and the bolts stopped midair. The spider looked at the bolts, unsure why they froze, before widening his eyes in horror as the bolts all turned back towards him. All the bolts struck spider with a top hat, and he was killed after just a few bolts striking him. "My turn", Moon remarked. Moon summoned a massive storm of magic and immediately the storm began to spew out diamonds of various diamonds. The storm was basically a variant of the earlier crystal dagger spell but buffed by a hundred levels. The crystals rained down on Star unrelentingly, and Star had to disrupt the spell or she would die. Star shouted, " Strawberry annihilation!"
The spell had the desired effects as the beam of strawberries caused Moon to lose her concentration on the crystal dagger storm, and the spell dissipated. Star grinned savagely as she casted, " Cataclysmic Total Extinction Death Blast!" The results of the following blast caused half of the entire castle to be vaporized by the blast, killing hundreds of people. The pink blast expanded until exploding in a pink fireball. The blast's shock wave could be felt for hundreds of miles and caused houses near the blast to be destroyed by the shock wave. Moon barely managed to survive, and she knew that she couldn't beat Star while Star was in her butterfly form as she had better stamina than Moon. Moon only had one choice and that was to use dark magic. She had only used dark magic a few times but not in large amounts. Moon poured out all her fear and hate from her and unleashed it in a blast that caused Star to shudder from the force of the blast.
When Star saw Moon after recovering the blast, Star was legitimately terrified of Moon's new appearance. Moon's eyes were no longer light gray but instead a sickly green color that glowed. Her cheekmarks were glowing a dark purple, and her arms had black streaks from dark magic corruption. Her earlier dress was replaced by a black battle armor similar to Queen Moon's battle armor, but Moon's battle armor had a skull for a belt and her chest piece had a dark purple diamond. There was a skull on each of her shoulder with butterfly cheekmarks on the skulls. There was a dark aura surrounding Moon that screamed of death. Even her facial expressions had changed as she no longer looked friendly or nice but instead livid, full of hate. Moon chuckled dangerously, " I think black suits me well, doesn't it?"
Star had no time to react as Moon shot out a beam of darkness from Moon's palm. There was a dark skull before the beam came out. Star could barely shield herself from the sheer power of the blast. Star was quickly forced on the defense as Moon kept shooting a barrage of dark spells. Star was increasingly terrified at this new Moon. The old Moon was at least friendly, but this new Moon was nothing like the old one. The new Moon was there to do only one thing and that was to kill. Star casted the 'rainbow fist punch' and it hit Moon. Moon only chuckled and laughed at how puny her spells were. Moon began to charge up a spell that actually required Moon to chant it. Star didn't like where the fight was going and tried to escape, but she found that she couldn't as the spell somehow was sucking her to the bottom of the crater. Star was terrified at what the spell would do, and she even tried to open a crater but found that she couldn't open a portal. Moon floated up to the sky several hundred feet in the sky before finishing her spell. Moon only uttered the world, "Nightmarish destruction."
By now most people in the kingdom evacuated to other kingdoms or escaped to other portals. For those who were still left near the castle, they saw the the most beautiful and yet terrifying thing ever. A giant beam of darkness mixed with purple came from the sky with a massive dome emerging from where the beam hit the were purple butterflies mixed throughout the dome that approached the people. That was the last thing anybody saw before they died. The dome consumed anything that was in a thirty mile radius of the original blast site, killing thousands of people. There was a brief pause when the dome reached it's limit, before an explosion rivaling any nuclear weapon occurred. The explosion was so bright that all throughout Mewni people swore that the sky turned from night to day for a few minutes. It caused anyone who was close to the blast to go blind from the sure brightness. The explosion caused a dark ripple in magic, and anyone who could use magic suddenly felt a sense of darkness wash over them. After a few minutes the blast subsided and left lots of dust in its wake. It wasn't until the next morning until anyone was brave enough to approach the smoke from the blast. When they stepped through the smoke, they saw in horror a giant crater in where Butterfly castle was supposed to be at. The crater was enormous! Marco rushed towards the crater and shouted, "Moon!"
Marco used his dimensional scissors to get down to the crater bottom. There was a search effort to see if there were any survivors, but they only found bodies. Most of the bodies have been melted or shredded by the explosion. Marco began to lose hope hen seeing the amount of devastation from the blast. Nobody, even the Magic High Commision, had ever seen a magical attack this powerful. They saw an endless sea of broken debris and rubble across the crater. While the rescue team were sifting through the rubble, they saw the broken remains of a magical wand. The team gave it to Queen Moon, and she teared up at this. That was the wand of Star! She always carried her wand, so this must of meant that Star died from the explosion. Nobody could believe that the duel between Moon and Star would result in so much destruction.
Everyone was distraught over this, but Marco was overwhelmed with grief. He had just lost his best friend today, and his new found love. Marco wanted the ground to swallow him up so he could die. Marco was stumbling around the crater, unable to comprehend the loses he had just sustained. He began to walk ahead of everyone, numbly walking. He didn't hear Kelly's shouts at him to wait up. He ignored everyone as his heart was broken from the tragedy. After a few hours, he reached the center of the crater. What he saw caused him to simultaneous become overcome with joy and sadness.
In the center of the crater was Moon holding the battered body of Star. Moon was visibly crying and was unable to move in disbelief. Moon had black battle armor on, and Marco could see her hands were black with black streaks going across her arms. Marco then realized that it was Moon who casted the horrible spell that destroyed the majority of the kingdom. Marco was bot enraged and happy when he realized this. Enraged that Moon killed his best friend but overjoyed at seeing Moon still alive. Moon hadn't moved at all and hadn't noticed Marco yet. Moon looked sadly at Star with the end of Moon's innocence. Marco approached Moon, and knelt besides her. He hugged Moon and said, "Moon."
Moon turned towards Marco with teary eyes. She could only say one thing, "Marco."
That concludes the chapter. Poor Star getting beasted by Moon. Well that's the end of the story.
