They say truth is the first casualty of war.

But who defines what's true or not?

Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every men or women is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil – that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I've found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes is someone to light the match.

First Person P.O.V.

I woke up to the sounds of birds and Terrible Terrors chirping in the trees, my eyes fluttered and opened. I sat up from the grass and looked at my surroundings, my lips were dried and I was thirsty.

I got up and stretched by body, I then finalised it with a huge yawn. I made myself towards a nearby pond and drank some of the water rather greedily. I sighed, I once again dreamed it. It was too painful to relive a memory I witnessed not so long ago, I lost everything. My friends, my family, my home... But I do not wish to think of such a thing.

And by the way, my name is Erik. Erik Askelson.

I dressed up in my casual clothing, placed a knife and dagger on a leather knife holster my uncle made for me, a crossbow on my back, and a couple of armor plates that covered my knees, my arm, and my hands.

I then tapped my dragon, a female Night Fury whom I named Shadowstriker, she got up and stretched like I did and ended it with a toothless yawn. She crooned at me as I scratched her head.

"Hey, there, girl,"I greeted. She licked my hand and giggled, that tickled. She has been kind of acting like my sister for the past years.

She then rumbled, I smiled. I grabbed a couple of salmon from a woven basket, I threw and she caught it in the air.

"Um, Shadow? Would you mind?"I presented the fish which was attached on a stick, she blinks her eyes as she uses a low plasma blast to cook the fish for me.

Third Person's P.O.VAfter roasting the salmon, Erik slowly began eating it while his buddy Night Fury eats what was left on the basket. He chuckled, he finished his meal and set the fish bones on the grass and petted her. She croons softly with Erik smiling.

"You wanna go fly, huh, Shadow?"He asked, Shadowstriker crowed happily and jumped around in excitement.

"Yeah, me too,"Erik said. He then started packing his belongings and always double-checked if he left anything behind. He nods as he mounts Shadowstriker's back. He nods as the female Night Fury screeched and took flight in the air.

First Person's P.O.VI sighed in happiness. I always enjoyed the breeze of the sky with the clouds touching my skin, it almost felt like as if I was being a true dragon. Shadow let out a gurgle and flies faster than before.

"Whoa, whoa, slow down, girl."I said patting her head, she huffs and slows her speed down,"Don't want me to fall off now, do we?"

Shadow rolled her eyes, but in a playful manner. As we then go lower from the clouds, we come across a sole ship in the middle of the ocean.

"Odd,"I thought with an eyebrow raised,"Why would there be a ship out here in the middle of nowhere?"We tried to get close as men in armor shouted and begin firing arrows at me. I was surprised by this, I tried to make Shadow evade all of the arrows but one of them hit her leg as she then crashed on the deck of the ship.

Third Person's P.O.VErik and Shadow crash landed on the deck of this ship, he then saw these 'Hunters' as he calls them, making their way slowly towards him and his dragon.

"Shadow! Shadow, get up!"He shouted trying to wake up the unconscious dragon, one of them approached him and placed a cloth around his mouth which then made him unconscious after.

Their boss, a man that has a small, light scar on the left side of his face. He wears a silvery leather tunic somewhat similar to what the Outcasts wear. He also has on what appears to be one spiky shoulder guard and arm guard on one arm, and one regular arm guard on the other, a studded belt with a giant skull buckle and yellow dragon skin around the waist, indigo pants, and brown leather boots with orange spotted tips. Occasionally, he was seen with two dragon-proof swords strapped behind his back.

"Boss, we found one of those damned dragon riders approaching this ship!"A Hunter spoke, who puts away his bow.

"Then where is this rider?" The man asked with a dead serious voice.

"We had him unconscious along with his Night Fury on the deck."

A Night Fury? Now that was interesting...

"Take him and his dragon to the holding cells,"He ordered as some of the Hunters nodded,"Viggo would wanna hear from this..."

A/N:That was kind of cringy, isn't it? Don't worry, I'll try to make the next chapter a little longer. As for now, sayonara.
