Lovers Reunited?
Part 2?
Arriving back at the village, they passed the mission to Kakashi excluding Naruto's...anger and decided to go on with their lives.
Well...except for Hinata and Naruto...
Hinata was right when she knew that things would never be the same between them. She saw that from this point onwards Naruto hardly spoke to her and the only times he did are out of pure necessity. Oftentimes, he would avoid her like the plague.
Being the understanding girl that she is, she gave him time to cool off...
Sakura wasn't feeling the same things as she continued insulting Naruto's intelligence and pressured him to go with Hinata.
Naruto's response? A good busted lip to her and he stormed off...the fans were sensible enough to leave him alone after that.
Hinata tried to connect with him and although he was polite and civil towards her, he was no longer casual with her as he usually does and whatever feelings he has is kept to himself. She couldn't tell what are his emotions anymore.
Now came the conversation...that took place in his home.
When Hinata said that she and the group spared Toneri, needless to say that Naruto yelled and screamed at her. Hitting her over and over again all the while condemning her for allowing a kidnapper like him to live despite what he's done. After he got tired in using her as a punching bag, Hinata embraced his sobbing form while quietly explaining herself. She affirmed her feelings for him then left his home for him to leave him to his thoughts...
The day after that, Naruto forgave her but he didn't change his attitude towards her and their relationship didn't progress at all. It just stick to being friends and Hinata knew that she had a lot of making up to do with Naruto...
Sadly, her goal would never come to be realized as Naruto returned wounded from another mission with the Hanabi rescue team. On his deathbed, he avoided her and on his last minute he said that Sakura aggravated his already terrible wounds by hitting him again. He never told her that he loved her. He just said to her that Sakura is responsible for having him killed. Having said that, he died.
Hinata weeped and cursed Sakura for robbing her for this missed chance. She also cursed herself for hurting Naruto if only indirectly.
Notes I was planning this to be a one shot but hopefully this covers loose ends. Like I wrote in the summary, this is an anti-naruhina fanfic and I lack the stomach to put it in an extreme way and therefore this is the last. So goodbye.
