Welcome Back! Only four (or five?)more chapters till the end! Who will win Vega or Moon? Well we're about to find out soon. Let me know how I did. Now on with the story!
Mewni AU
"Star wait up!", Marco yelled at Star.
Star was dragging poor Tom through the streets. The townspeople shot the three curious looks before going back to their business. Weird things happened in the town often. Tom was trying to slow down an energetic Star but utterly failing miserably. Star was running around the town with no end in sight. Marco wasn't sure what her intentions were, but she had to stop running. 'Wait what if I can use levitato on her?' Marco suddenly realized. He raised his hand and uttered "levitato". Star froze in place as a faint red light enveloped her.
Star looked around to see who froze her until she saw Marco's outstretched arm. 'Since when could Marco use magic' Star gaped. Star then noticed two faintly glowing crescent moons on his cheeks. Star now believed that she was losing her sanity at this point. Only one week had passed yet there were so many big changes already. Last week she had met Vega, practiced a forbidden variant of magic, and now Marco is using magic. It was just madness! Star blinked her eyes to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. Once she was sure that she had seen Marco using magic, Star gasped, "You can use magic?!"
"Surprise!"
"What?!", Star yelled. This was getting out of hand! Humans weren't supposed to have magic right? Yet Marco was able to stop her using magic in front of her. Star wondered if Marco had always known that he could use magic, but he only revealed his true powers once he had Moon. Star looked at Tom, and he was equally as shocked at her. His mouth was open while his eyes twitched. Then his mouth moved as a smile formed on his face.
"That was awesome bro! When could you use magic?", Tom clapped his hands.
"Just last week actually", Marco responded. Star just rolled her eyes. It was just Star's luck that one week could change so much. Star had no idea why everything was changing so quickly. It was as if someone was arranging the recent events. But no one could manipulate everything right?
"Can you show us some of your magic?", Tom asked.
"Sure", Marco shrugged. Marco waved his hand, and an apple appeared out of thin air. Marco grabbed the apple while both Tom and Star shared a look of awe. Star was absolutely thrilled at the thought of Marco using magic. They could be magic twins! Star could only begin to think about the possibilities of them being a duo. Tom meanwhile was amazed that Marco could conjure objects with magic already. Even simple object usually weeks to conjure, but Marco had done it in a week. Tom was proud that Marco had already become skilled with magic.
"Can I teach you some magic?!", Star asked giddily.
"Of course you can", Marco smiled. Marco wished that he could let Moon on how he was doing. Wait he had the Blood Moon bond! How could he forgot about that? Marco opened the bond with Moon to talk to her. Moon?, Marco broke the silence. There were a few moments of silence before Moon responded. Uh hi Marco, Moon greeted Marco. When can you come with us?, Marco asked through their bond. I'm afraid I'll return in the evening, Moon grimaced. Marco was disappointed that Moon wouldn't be able to spend any time with Star today. Marco sighed knowing that it would probably be a while before another opportunity presents itself for Moon and Star to be together, Then I hope you have a good meeting, Marco said sadly. And I hope you have a good day with Star, Moon responded.
Moon then closed the bond to resume her work. Marco realized that if he stayed with Moon then he would become a prince. Meaning that he would inherit the responsibilities that come along with the position. Marco wanted to be with Moon so he was willing to accept the responsibilities. But sometimes being important is just tedious. Marco was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Star calling to him.
"So Marco do you know any good places to practice magic?"
"I think I know the place."
Marco opened a portal using his scissors since although he was learning magic quickly, he knew that he would never be at Moon's level. Glossaryck said that she surpassed even him in terms of magical potency. Glossaryck was at the very end of the magical scale, but Moon's readings actually broke the scanner from her sheer power. So no one actually knew how powerful Moon was at full potential. Marco wondered how Star would fare against Moon in a magical duel. Even though Moon was powerful, Star had her butterfly form to amp her powerful. But they would never fight right?
Marco opened the portal to the spot he and Moon used when they trained. Star and Tom went in after Marco had entered. The pair looked around the circle to see where they were at. The pair concluded that they must be in some sort of forest for there were trees everywhere. Tom asked, "Where are we?"
"The Forest of Certain Death."
Tom's eyes practically shot out of his eyes when he heard that. Was Marco insane for bringing them here? The last time Tom was in the Forest of Certain from his reality, he was almost eaten by a huge carnivorous plant if Star hadn't saved him. The plant looked like an innocent fruit tree, but it was a trap! Marco must be out of his mind unless this Forest of Certain Death wasn't as bad as the normal Forest of Certain Death.
"Are you insane, you'll get us all killed!"
"Don't worry Moon and I always use this place to train. This circle somehow keeps the dangerous animals and plants out", Marco explained.
"Oh that make sense", Tom nodded his head. So maybe Marco wasn't insane.
"Alright lets start!", Star jumped in. Star grabbed her wand from her purse and twirled it around. Marco shot a look of worry at Tom. Whenever Star did magic more often than not the end results are a big explosion or immense damage. Tom gave Marco a reassuring smile to try to calm him down. Marco could tell however that even To was having doubts about this. As if to prove their point, Star accidentally lit a log on fire from using just one spell. Star was furiously trying to put out the fire, but it only made things worst. The fire leapt from one tree to another.
"Come on wand work with me!", Star groaned in frustration.
Luckily Tom managed to use his magic to control the flames. The flames crackled for a few seconds before they were extinguished. Tom let out a sigh. Star seriously needed to improve her magic. Tom shook his head and looked at Star. "Starship can we please not set the forest on fire?"
"I'll try", Star winked at Tom.
Marco chuckled at the two's remarks. Marco's thoughts went to how Star would used to always do the same with him. Marco used to wish their friendship could revert back to the old days. Now he was content with the way things are. Marco asked curiously, "What spell you want want to show me?"
Star's face scrunched up in deep thought. Then Star slowly smiled as she thought up of the perfect spell. Star was about to show him who the real master of magic was, not Moon. Star raised her wand over her hand before shouting, " Right. How about, Warnicorn Stampede! "
There was a stampede of warnicorns that came out of the wand that were running at full throttle towards a tree. The free got demolished when the warnicorns reached the tree. Star let herself gloat over her skills. Sure Moon was powerful, but she couldn't do this spell. Moon just got her wand, and the spell required a lot of magic. Even Star's mom had trouble summoning it so Moon had no chance at doing this spell. Now that Star was receiving training in dark magic, Moon had no chance. Moon may have beaten Star once, but that was when she was weak. Not anymore, she was now more powerful!
"What do you think Marco?" , Star asked, turning to face him.
"Pretty good, but Moon can do a lot more" , Marco told Star. Marco was quite impressed at Star's skills with magic. Moon however had shown that she was more powerful several times before. The most recent being that she somehow caused a massive glitter explosion as the result of trying a new spell. The glitter explosion coated half of the forest with glitter. Even right now there were traces of the glitter scattered across the forest.
"What can she do bro?" , Tom asked.
"Her most powerful spells can incinerate entire armies with ease", Marco shuddered. He couldn't help but wonder why anyone would develop such dangerous spells. Even Moon had some difficulty controlling the spells of mass destruction. Such spells were so dangerous that only a few queens managed to use those spells. Moon told him that most of the spells of mass destruction were dark in nature. He knew magic had its uses, but the spells of mass destruction were too much.
Meanwhile both Star and Tom gaped at Moon's power. Tom had only heard of a few spells that could accomplish such a feat. But they were only used by old magical users. The youngest person to use such destructive spells was Eclipsa, and she was in her Moon could do it at a young age. It seems like Star could also use magic tips from Moon. Maybe they could become best buddies over magic.
"That's unbelievable!",Star shouted. 'How could Moon be so powerful already'? Star panicked. Her master said that Moon was powerful but not this powerful! Only Star's master could preform such powerful spells. Was Moon as powerful as Vega already? Star feared that Moon might be too much for Vega to handle by herself. Star could only hope that she was up for the task to defeat Moon with Vega.
"I know it's incredible", Marco beamed, "Anyways I can only use rather simple spells. Warnicorn Stampede will probably drain me quickly", Marco said.
"Then how about Narwhal Blast!"
Star shot out a narwhal out of her wand. The narwhal slammed into a tree before the narwhal disappeared. That was one of the first spells she had used. Star was certain it would be simple enough for Marco to use. Plus the spell was quite effective against hostile foes such as Moon. Star really didn't like Moon for taking Marco. Soon Moon would be no more.
"That's simple enough I guess", Marco said.
"Then let's try it!", Star said as she grabbed Marco's arm. She lifted his hand to eye level. Star gave Marco a thumbs up, and she backed up to see how well Marco could cast her most basic spell. She was confident that Marco would succeed in casting this simple spell.
"Come on Marco you got this!"
Marco took a calm breathe before yelling, "Narwhal Blast!"
A large narwhal came out of his hand, and it landed close to where Star's narwhal landed. There was a loud 'splat' when the narwhal crashed onto the ground. The narwhal promptly disappeared after a few moments. There was several moments of silence after he casted the spell. Then there was clapping coming from Tom and Star. Star in particular looked very happy that Marco managed to cast the spell.
"You're a natural at this!", Tom complimented him.
"Marco that was awesome!", Star screamed. Marco grinned at Star's reaction. Her reaction was pretty much the same reaction he had when Star first used magic to fight off Ludo. 'Those were the good days' Marco sighed happily. Maybe they could go on an adventure soon like the good old days.
"We still go some more spells to learn!"
Star dragged Marco along her to practice even more spells while Tom watched on with amusement. This was going to be a long day today. Maybe he should of asked Moon for some of her sugar.
Few Hours Later
"Then Moon suddenly went ultra instinct mode", Marco recounted his story over cornshakes. They had just finished with Star's magical training. They were about to do some exploring when they realized that it was time for lunch. Tom then suggested that they get some cornshakes. Since neither Star or Marco could think of anything better, they agreed with Tom. Right now Marco was telling Star and Tom what happened in the Shadow Dimension.
"What happened next?", Tom asked.
"Let's just say that Moon promptly killed one hundred soldiers in less than one minute and overpowered a master duelist in five minutes."
"That's insane!", Star gasped. Her master had spoken of intruders that killed over one hundred of her soldiers and one of her best warriors. Those intruders must of been Moon and Marco. If Moon could kill over a hundred soldiers and overpower a powerful warrior in a fit of rage, then Moon was as powerful as hr master at least. Star had greatly underestimated how attached Moon was to Marco. It would be harder than Star expected to remove Moon from the equation.
"She did all of that when someone was about to kill you?", Tom asked, morbidly curious about Moon's reasoning.
"Yep."
He knew that people could get overly protective when their loved ones are in dangerous, but this was taking it to a new level. Tom didn't take Moon as the one who would kill for fun. Moon seemed to become a different person when Marco was in danger from what Tom could gather. Star was never that mad that she would kill someone right? Tom made a mental note not to piss off Moon or he might become atomized.
"It was as if she became a different person. She killed half of them by choking them to death, and the other half by incinerating them with red lightning.:
"Remind me not to mess with Moon", Tom chuckled nervously. The manner which Moon killed the soldiers was gruesome. Tom had no idea that the nice and calm Moon was capable of such violence. Judging from Marco's fearful expression, it was a safe bet that he left out some of the more gruesome details. Tom decided it was best to not know whatever Marco left out.
"Now why wouldn't you want to mess with me?", Moon suddenly jumped in.
"Moon?!", Tom, Marco, and Star yelled. Moon wasn't supposed to be here until a couple more hours! What in the devil's is Moon doing here so early?
"What nobody's happy to see me? I'm a bit offended", Moon said with mock hurt.
"Uh, sorry Moon it's just that I was expecting you to be here so early", Marco said.
"I got out of the meeting early so I decided to check up on my boyfriend", Moon chuckled as she rolled her eyes. Her 'meeting was quite successful as she put the Shadow League on high alert in case something happened. They were a bit skeptical of the supposed threats, but they gave her the benefit of the doubt. After all she is their leader. Moon wanted the reverse engineering of the technology to be completed at the very latest in the next two weeks.
"Would you care to join us for some cornshakes?", Tom asked.
"Sure! I need some sugar to regain some energy."
Moon ordered an extra large cornshake with extra sugar. The other three just shook their head. It was a miracle that Moon didn't have diabetes yet from the excessive amount of sugar she ate. When Moon's cornshake came, she added in half of a container of syrup. Moon then sat down with her three friends at a nearby table. Moon then started to slurp down her cornshake at an alarming rate. She took a pause after a long slurp and asked, "What were you talking about me?"
"We were just listening to Marco on what happened in the shadow dimension", Star gulped.
"I don't want to talk about it", Moon muttered. Moon's expression instantly darkened, and her face formed a frown. Moon did not want to remember that day at all. She still felt dirty from using dark magic even though she has dark magic training now. She didn't want many people to know that she lost control briefly in a moment of panicked rage. She could still remember how she relished the feeling of the power coursing through her. It scared her at how she took delight in killing people in her anger. Moon hoped that she wouldn't get mad enough to unleash her anger on someone again.
"Don't beat yourself up Moon", Marco tried to reassure her.
"I would rather not talk about it. So how was you're day Marco?"
"It was good. I showed them some magic!", Marco grinned happily. Marco quickly gave Moon a run down of the how the day went. From stopping Star with levitato to Star showing him her spells. Moon smiled warmly at Marco while listening to his day. Tom, Marco, and even Star noticed that Moon's smiles seemed forced. It was as if Moon was still in deep thought about something. Moon also didn't talk that much while listening, something unusual since she liked to ask for more details. Moon simply nodded her head to show she was listening. Marco wondered what was causing her to become distanced.
"That was an interesting day you had", Moon said absentminded once Marco was done with his story. Truthfully the story was quite interesting, but Moon had other concerns. She was thinking about what might happen in a few weeks that would lead to the downfall of Mewni. Her dreams have so far been accurate, and Marco's dreams seemed to confirm her fears. Right now as not the time to relax. She had to plan ahead to hopefully prevent the fall of Mewni.
"So how was your meeting Moon?", Marco asked.
"It was the usual boring meeting. I really dislike meetings most of the time", Moon shrugged.
Marco could tell that Moon wasn't completely honest, but he let it slide for now. For now he wanted Moon to have some fun with Star. What could Moon do with them now? He needed to ask Moon for her opinion. Marco asked, "What do you want to do now Moon?"
"I'm not sure yet."
"Maybe we could do whatever you do for fun", Star suggested. Truthfully she could use today as a disguise to analyze Moon to see if Moon had any weaknesses. Then Star could report to her master! That is if Moon decided to go along with Star's suggestion.
" Sure why not? ", Moon responded.
Moon finished her cornshake right after she said that. Moon then contemplated what activity she should do with Star and Tom. She didn't want to do anything too exciting today as she was not in the mood. At the same time she didn't want to play a board game again. Moon slowly began to grinned when she came up with the perfect activity. They would go sparring! She loved to spar to improve her combat skills in case she needed to use them.
" I have the perfect idea. Follow me! ", Moon grinned as she practically leaped into the air.
Moon opened a portal to the training grounds where the royal knights trained. Moon grabbed Marco's arm and dragged him into the portal. Star shot Tom a concerned look before entering. When Tom and Star went through the portal, they did a double take on where they were. They were in the middle of a knight's training grounds! The pair was knights running around in obstacle courses and sparring with each other. 'This is where Moon spends her time at?!' Star inwardly gasped. The knights nodded their head in acknowledgement, but they went back to their business. They were used to Moon coming here to train.
"Welcome to the knight's training grounds! I spend my time here honing my sword skills", Moon smiled at the shocked Tom and Star. Marco had already known that Moon spent time at the training grounds. He had never seen Moon spar before however so this would be new for him.
" I want to see how you guys are at with your swordsmanship so grab a training sword", Moon gestured to a bin of swords
"Moon are you sure it's a good idea?" , Marco asked with concern.
"I'm sure it's perfectly safe", Moon reassured Marco.
Star was the first to grab the training sword. This would be a good way to test her swordsmanship against Moon. Ever since Star had began training with Vega, Star's swordsmanship had improved considerably. Star was still wary of Moon since Moon had practiced here often. If Moon practiced for an hour everyday then she could have considerable skill with the blade.
Meanwhile the other knights were watching the spectacle with interest. Already they were placing bets on how long the newcomer would last against Moon. Moon had made a name for herself in the world of hand to hand combat. Moon hadn't lost a sword duel in a few monthes. The knights safety assumed that the blonde wouldn't beat Moon. It would be a good fight however for they noticed the blonde was a Butterfly. Butterflies were known to be among the best combatants ever. Maybe the blonde stood a chance against the powerhouse that was Moon.
Star walked to an open spot on the field where Moon was waiting patiently. Moon had already grabbed her own training sword when she first went through the portal. Moon had a look of absolute excitement on her face. Star was nervous at the spar as she noticed the other knights paying attention to her.
"Ready to lose?" , Moon said smugly.
'Oh I will wipe that smile off of her face', Star thought, determined to prove herself in front of Marco. Star shot back, " We'll see about that. "
"Good luck Star", Moon said.
Then Moon made the first move of the duel, signifying the beginning of the duel. Moon rushed towards Star, and brought down her sword on Star's face. Only Star's quick reflexes prevented her from receiving a black eye. When the two locked blades, Star nearly buckled at the sheer power behind Moon's blow. 'How is she that strong?!', Star panicked. Her mom was definitely not this strong. Once they had an arm wrestling competition, and Star beat her mom quite easily. No Moon was a bulldozer in comparison to her mom. Star had never felt so strained before from just one strike. Even with her improved conditioning, Star knew that she couldn't keep up with a blade lock with Moon.
Star did a risky back flip to try to distance herself from Moon. Moon just looked at Star savagely for a few seconds before sprinting towards Star. Moon closed the distance between them in several seconds. This time Star was ready for Moon's attack. She attacked Moon diagonally across Moon's chest. Moon easily blocked the blow, but this is exactly what Star wanted. Star then delivered a kick to Moon's ankle. It would have crippled even the most powerful warriors, but Moon just grunted from the blow.
Meanwhile the knight's and the two boyfriends looked on with great interest. Tom and Marco both watched tensely at the duel. They were both rooting for their girlfriends to win. Tom wanted Star to beat Moon in at least one area while Marco wanted Moon to win.
"Go Starship!"
" Moon will win! "
When Moon was struck in the knee, the knight's who banked on Moon started to grow concern. So the blonde wasn't so weak after all. The knights that better on Star began to grow more confident in their chances. That was until Moon landed a kick into Star's stomach. Star gagged from the force of blow, and she stumbled back. Moon took the initiative, and she pounded at Star's defense. Already Star was beginning to sweat heavily from the duel, but Moon seemed only somewhat tired.
Star looked up at Moon to see something that scared her. Moon had a look of aggression that wasn't normally present. In fact her style was very reminiscent of Vega's style. Moon snarled at Star before Moon went for the killing blows. Moon struck at Star with several quick blows. Star wanted heavily at trying to defend against Moon. It was as if she was fighting a seasoned warrior. Star tried to push Moon off of her, but Moon simply locked blades with Star.
"Nice try Star. You fought well, but it is useless to resist!" , Moon growled.
Moon then seemed to go into a hyperactive state. Moon moved at speeds that were almost inhumane. Moon kept pounding at Star's defenses. Tom was becoming concerned at how aggressive Moon became. Even Marco began to notice the change in Moon's demeanor. The knights just assumed that this was Moon going in for the kill. In reality Moon was channeling her passion into physical strength. The more pain or angrier she got, the more powerful Moon became. This was a lesson that Star was learning the hard way.
Moon struck Star diagonally at the chest. Star went in to intercept the blade, but Moon had anticipated that move. Moon lowered the blade just before her blade clashed with Star's blade. Moon's blade sailed into Star's hand, and the blow forced Star to drop her sword from the pain. Moon looked Star in the eye as Moon grabbed Star's fallen blade. Moon slowly smiled at Star's expression. It was priceless! Star looked terrified at her for some reason. Moon then crossed her swords at Star's throat.
"You have been beaten! Don't let yourself be destroyed by pride", Moon chuckled maniacally.
Star looked downcast before she surrendered. "I yield to Moon Butterfly" , Star sighed.
The knights immediately began to collect their earnings. The losers sighed as most of them lost a week's worth of salary. They were at least partially compensated by how good the duel was. The duel was particularly intense since none of the knight's had ever seen Moon look this intense. This made the duel even more spectacular. The knights did have to give the blonde props for trying so hard against Moon.
Meanwhile both Tom and Marco were taken aback by Moon's uncharacteristic aggression. Tom had no idea that Moon was this good of a fighter. He had assumed that she mainly used magic for fighting. Now he saw that Moon both used her physical strength and magical powers to overwhelm an opponent. Marco on the other hand was highly concerned about the way Moon's behavior in the duel. Moon was overly aggressive in the duel, and her expression was the exact same face she wore in her duel against Lady Yelen. Marco worried that Moon was having some sort of PTSD every time she fought someone.
"Now if you can excuse me, I've got some sugar I need to eat", Moon gasped. At the end of the duel Moon was sweating from exhaustion. Moon panted at how much effort she had to put in to defeat Star. Star still had to work on her bladework more, but she had potential. Star definitively made up for her lack of skill with her overall strength. Star would of slowly overpowered Moon if Moon didn't use her emotions to fuel her power. The power coursing through her was rejuvenating! Moon couldn't believe why she was so afraid of the dark power. Moon berated herself at being so foolish early. Dark magi=c was the way to go. Moon started to laugh maniacally as she ate her sugar bars.
While Moon was eating her sugar bars, Marco slowly approached Moon. Marco wasn't sure if Moon's bloodlust has faded, so he wasn't taking any chances. Once Marco was just a feet away from Moon, he lightly tapped her shoulder. Moon spun around to see Marco standing behind her. Moon's face broke into a huge smile that threatened to leave her face. Marco was just the person she wanted to see. Moon cleared her throat and said, "What did you think Marco?"
"That was amazing, but are you normally this aggressive?"
" No", Moon admitted, "I tried out a new technique that combines physical strength with stamina."
" Oh, thanks for the clarification", Marco sighed in relief. He was relieved that Moon didn't actually become enraged like the time in the shadow dimension. Moon seemed to read his thoughts by responding to his concerns. Marco you worry too much, Moon teased. Marco wasn't sure if Moon was just that good at reading people or this was a result of the Blood Bond. Whenever he tried to read Moon's thoughts, he only came up with her general emotions. 'Maybe I should ask her more about the Blood Bond' Marco thought to himself.
While Moon was talking to Marco, Star limped back to Tom. Star fell on her knees when she was right next to Tom. Tom rushed to Star's side to make sure she was ok. Tom inspected Star's legs and arms to make sure she didn't sustain any serious injuries. "Starship are you ok?" , Tom asked with concern.
Star shot Tom an annoyed look for asking such a and question. Surely he had more faith in her abilities. Star punched Tom playfully as a response to his question. "Nothing can hurt this rebel princess!" , Star rolled her eyes.
Tom shared a thin grin with Star, but he still wasn't thoroughly convinced. Star giggled at Tom's concern. Tom was certainly a good boyfriend but not as good as Marco. Oh how she wished Marco was here to comfort her instead of going with Moon. Soon that will all change. For right now Tom will have to do. As Tom was busy checking on her, she looked to see where Marco was. She wasn't surprised to see Marco being right next to Moon. From what Star could gather today, she was certain that neither her or her master could best Moon, but both of them could overwhelm Moon. Star cleared her throat so she caught Moon's attention. "So what are we going to do now?"
"We should relax after this", Marco suggested.
"Good idea Marco", Moon nodded in agreement.
Star was about to agree with the idea when she checked the time. It was already early evening! Her master would be expecting her any moment now. She dared not to offend her master. Vega was the only chance Star had to win back Marco. She had to make an excuse so she could go back to her Mewni. "I actually am feeling a bit tired tonight. Can you take me back to my Mewni please?", Star said apologetically.
Marco looked a bit disappointed at her decision, but he kept a straight face. Marco nodded," Of course you can go home Star. "
He really wanted Star to stay for a little bit longer so they could get to spend more time with each other like the old days. He's also wanted to see Moon and Star out aside their differences today. Marco however didn't want to show his disapointment. Marco instead forced a fake smile onto his face. He shaking replied, "Of course Star. Moon do you mind opening a portal?"
"Of course Marco."
Moon grabbed her wand to begin casting her spell. Moon raised the wand above her wand and changed the spell. A portal appeared in front of Moon once she was done changing the spell. Moon panted from exhaustion, but unlike the previous times, Moon didn't collapse. Moon too felt a little disappointed at Star's hasty decision to leave. Moon really did want to at least become friends with Star. Moon sighed, " We'll time for you to go. I really wished we could spend some time today. "
'Yeah right' Star bitterly thought to herself. Star tried to put on the most convincing was face she could muster. "I wish I could spend more time with you. Maybe next time", Star suggested.
" How about next week? ", Moon asked.
" That sounds like a plan! "
Star and Tom bid Marco and Moon goodbye before they went through the portal. While the pair headed into the portal, Marco looked sadly at Star. Today was great, but it was missing something. That something was Moon He promised himself that he will invite Star over next Friendship Thursday. Then Moon and Star can truly get to know each other. Moon looked at Marco knowingly as if she had a similar train of thoughts.
"Marco can we invite her next week?"
"That was what I was planning to do."
Marco what do you want to do for the evening, Moon hugged Marco. Marco now just wanted to spend time with Moon right now. Anything my love, Marco kissed Moon. Moon stared at Marco for a second before she pulled him in for a kiss. They kissed, oblivious to the other knights there, for well over a minute. At that moment it was nothing but just the two of them.
Regrettably they had to separate from a lack of oxygen. Moon opened a portal to their secret spot. It was always a good place to relax after an exhausting day and right now she needed some calm. Moon gestured for Marco to go in first. Marco of course protested and insisted Moon to go in first. They glared at each other until Marco yielded first. Marco relented to Moon's request by going in first. Moon soon went in last.
When they got to the meadow, Moon tackled Marco to the ground. They rolled around the meadow, giggling at least each other. They stopped after a minute or wrestling each other. They released each other, and they laughed uncontrollably. Once they had settled down, Marco looked at Moon. Moon I love you, Marco practically melted through their bond. I know Wild Man, Moon purred. They then broke into a kiss with no one to disturb them. Today might of been for Star, but tonight was just for the two of them.
Mewni Prime
Star entered her training grounds in the cloak of darkness. It had taken her hours to persuade Tom to leave her alone. But finally after a few hours, she was at last alone. She looked around for her master, knowing her master would not be happy for her tardiness. After several minutes of dead silence, Star heard a soft rustling coming from behind her. Star knew that it was her master approaching. Sure enough a figure came from an entrance of the arena. From the way Vega's mouth contorted, she wasn't happy.
"Can you explain why you were late by several hours?", Vega asked menacingly.
" I was a bit distracted today", Star said hastily.
"What could your little 'distraction ' be?" Vega pondered. She was a busy person. Her plans were heading the endgame, and her plans were almost set. Soon the multiverse shall tremble in her wake. The last thing she needed was a delay to her plans. Her apprentice can't be distracted at the very end.
"I was spending time with Marco. It turns out he could use magic for some odd reason", Star quickly explained. Star dared not displeased her master now. She needed her master to take back Marco from Moon! Star couldn't fail Marco when she was so close.
" This was unexpected", Vega said simply. Vega had already foreseen this complication to her plan. Right now she was toying with hed apprentice to relish Star's uncertainty of Vega's reaction.
"I also learned another thing. Today when Marco was practicing magic, he revealed just powerful Moon was. Apparently Moon had mastered one of the spells of mass destruction", Star said.
'An so Moon is as powerful as I had foreseen ' Vega couldn't help but chuckle to herself. Moon certainly would provide Vega some much wanted challenge. After all Vega loved challenges. Sensing that Star had something else to add, Vega further questioned Star.
"Anything else?"
" Moon also challenged me in a sword duel. She fought just as well as you, if not better master. I fear it would take our combined strength to defeat her", Star finished.
" I see now ", Vega said simply. Star clinched while waiting for Vega's response. They last time she got pissed off at Star, Vega fried Star with lighting for a minute. Star could still hear Vega's reply to Star's pleas for mercy, " There is no Star prayed that her master wasn't mad at her.
Luckily for Star Vega only chuckled at Star's report, "Everything is going as I have foreseen. Soon you shall complete your training and claim Marco as your own."
Star nodded silently as she got ready for their training session. Even with things going according to plan, there was still much to do. The following weeks will indeed be interesting.
And that wraps up the chapter! Sorry for the last one and a half week late update. I kind of got burned out of fanfiction so I had to take a break. But I'm back! Now I know for sure there will be only be five more chapters left. Until next time, Peace!
