A/N Hello everyone! I'm sorry I didn't double update last week as I promised. I'll try harder to keep to the schedule and maybe even throw a couple bonus chapters in here and there.

I hastily wrote this chapter at 10pm because I actually have a test for my summer math class due soon, so I've been working on that, lol. Sorry it's short.

If you get a chance, I'd love it if you coule check out my profile because I've polished it up and added a few cool bits!

As always, thanks to everyone who leaves consistent reviews. You know who you are! *wink*

Percy POV

Charlie's breathing evens out and that's when I know she's asleep. I bought a crib for her, but she likes to sleep on the big bed, which I don't mind.

I'm laying down next to her browsing my phone until she sleeps.

I met the old lady again, I think Minerva is her name. That was the third time, one too many to be a mere coincidence. I have a feeling that the gods are involved.

Nevertheless, we talked and caught each other up on the latest updates. She said that her daughter was doing a little better and was looking for a friend or someone to talk to. I don't know what got into me, but I offered to be that person, and so Minerva gave me her number.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous to text her. She lives in New York, so the time difference is one of the many barriers between us. I don't know why I'm nervous because there's no reason to be. It's not like I have feelings for her or anything. Or do you? What? No way!

How can I have feelings for someone I've never even met before?

I don't even know who she is!

I get up to a sitting position, resting my elbows on my knees. What should I even text her? Does she know that her mom told a random guy about her personal dilemmas? Actually, I'm pretty sure that Minerva said she was going to tell her daughter so she wouldn't be surprised to receive my text.

Ugh... why am I getting so caught up on this?

Deciding that I wasn't getting anywhere, I get up and head over to the kitchen. When I'm stressed or conflicted, blue cookies never fail to soothe me.

I cream the eggs and sugars mindlessly, then add the eggs and vanilla extract. The smell reminds me of the old days when mom and I used to spend all afternoon in the kitchen cooking various desserts. I miss her a lot, but luckily we are on speaking terms and I call her once a week to check-in.

After popping the cookies into the oven, I sit at the kitchen island and contemplate whether to text the girl or not.

YOLO, I conclude, and reach for my phone. What should I say?

Hi, I'm the random guy that your mom gave your number to. I know your secrets and- That literally sounds psychotic.

Take 2: Hello there! I'm Percy and I just wanted to let you know that I'm here if you want to talk. Nope, that sounds like I'm flirting, which I'm not, by the way.

Plus, maybe I shouldn't tell her my name anyways. I mean, how close are we again? Oh right, we're complete strangers.

Take 3: Hello! I'm the guy that your mom, Minerva, gave your number to. I hope this isn't too awkward for you, but since I know what you've been through, feel free to vent to me. Btw, I know this sounds a little psychotic, but then again, how do I introduce myself since we've never met, and you've probably never heard of my before and your mom gave me your number after spilling your secrets? Anyways, I totally understand if you don't feel comfortable reaching out, I mean tbh I might not be if I were you, but don't never fear, I'll keep your secrets safe! *imagine I said that in a deep knight/heroic voice* Regardless, I hope you are doing well, and have a good night(or day bc of the time difference)

Yeah... no. That's literally so cringy. There's no way in Hades I'm going to send that to a random stranger, but it's fun to write out sarcastic texts. Not to send though.

I hear a faint cry from the bedroom and grab my phone before rushing over to see if everything is okay.

Charlie tried rolling over but got stuck halfway and was upset, that's all. I sigh, relieved.

Then I check my phone again. Wait, where's the joke-text I drafted? It's not in the text box anymore.

I look at the top half of my phone and gasp. I must have forgotten to lock my phone when I set it down and when I ran over to check on Charlie...

I sent the text.

Oh great. So much for that. She's probably going to think that I'm a psycho now. All I want to do is help.

I've ruined this. But then again... was there really anything to begin with? She might not even know about me, so why am I so caught up on this?

Charlie and I play for a little while, but the thought of this failed relationship keeps entering my mind. Oh who am I kidding, she probably doesn't even want to talk to me anyways. Plus, Minerva said that she's branching out.

Now that I think about it, she probably has a boyfriend.

I guess there was no potential to begin with.

Summary: Percy is very nervous about making a good first impression for Annabeth, but he ends up sending his joke-text full of sarcastic and whimsical remarks. He doesn't know what his feelings are towards her seeing that she's still a complete stranger. His feelings fluctuate, and he ends the night feeling down.
