Emily stomped into the office, snow falling off her with every step. She was not in a good mood. She had deliberately used the stairs to demonstrate her displeasure. The 'thump, thump, THUMP' of deliberate, heavy steps did tend to take the edge off her anger. Usually. Not that that had helped much this, it just gave her more opportunities to almost slip and break her damn neck. Everyone pointedly avoided her gaze as she made her way to her desk, not wanting to get snapped at. Cowards all of them.

In her huff she tried to tear her coat off her, only to get thwarted by the zip. It was always the zip. A growl escaped her as she fought with it Of course, tugging and it and pulling it. It was stuck and she was trapped in this damn coat with snow melting off her.

"Let me help," came a voice.

Emily made an impatient noise but pushed her chest forward so Spencer could access the zip. His long and far more patient fingers worked steadily at it and soon had her free.

"There was a thread caught in it," he told her, holding a long bit of thread up.

Of course, there was. Emily pulled her coat off properly this time and flung it over her chair. Water dripped off it to formed a puddle under it.

"I hate snow," she grumbled at his inquiring look.

Her nose was raw, she was cold, the clothes under her coat were inexplicably damp and there was snow in her boots. Her toes had gone numb and she was convinced she had frostbite. Yes, it was safe to say that Emily disliked snow. Hated it even. Despised it. Wanted to set it on fire. No, she wasn't being too dramatic. She didn't do dramatic. That was Reid's forte. Or Garcia's. Not hers. Even if she wanted to scream about the stuff. Nope. Not dramatic at all. Did she mention her suspected frostbite?

"Good morning!" JJ greeted in that annoyingly perky tone of hers.

Emily honestly didn't understand her friend. How she could be that cheerful with minimal coffee she still didn't understand. There was no way she was human. It just wasn't possible.

Emily grunted something in response which just made JJ smile wider.

"I don't think Emily thinks it's a good morning," Spencer offered.

"Oh? Did Sergey wake you up at four again demanding to be fed?" JJ asked knowingly.

Thank goodness he had not today. Though it had been a bad habit of his recently.

"It's the snow," Emily complained, again.

"What about it?"

"I hate it."

JJ gaped at her. "How can you hate snow?" the blonde demanded. "You can't hate snow."

"I can and I do," Emily said moodily, glaring at her soaked coat in front of her. "It's messy, it goes all slushy and disgusting and it always ends up in your shoes."

Because it was also in her shoes despite her having good boots on. There was no way it should be in her shoes but it was. Because that's what snow did. Stupid stuff. Annoying stuff that made you freeze. See? It even made you stupid and unable to form proper sentences. That's how stupid it was.

"It's also fluffy and pretty and makes everything look like a Christmas card," JJ countered, folding her arms and raising an eyebrow in challenge.

Emily gave her a look. "Have you seen outside? It definitely doesn't resemble that."

Because JJ's image of snow never happened in Virginia. Not in Quantico at least where there were just too many people going back and forth. No, instead you got the aforementioned slushy mess.

"I have to go with Prentiss on this one," Morgan announced, having appeared when JJ started speaking. "Snow is a mess."

JJ responded with a horrified gasp.

"You're all so negative! Snow is wonderful!"

"When did you turn into Garcia?" Emily asked only semi-sarcastically.

Because the blonde was taking on an eerily Garcia-like tone when talking about snow.

"And we're realists," Morgan added. "Snow is cold and nasty and slows everything down."

JJ huffed at them and crossed her arms. She didn't look like she could be persuaded otherwise, even with Emily and Derek disagreeing with her.

"You're outnumbered," Morgan crowed. "We win. Snow is a menace."

The two older agents exchanged high fives, both giving her smug looks. She huffed.

JJ gaped at them both, shaking her head. Absolutely unbelievable. How could you be grinchy about snow? Sure, she expected it from Emily but Morgan? It was time for some reinforcements.

"Spence, are you hearing this?"

"You mean the town and country differences in opinions about snow that were just displayed?"

"Yes," confirmed JJ and then gave him a puzzled look. "Wait, what?"

Reid looked up from his computer and explained, "Morgan and Emily are displaying reactions very typical of people who grew up in cities and you're displaying a reaction typical of those from the countryside or suburbs."

"Well, what do you think of snow?" JJ demanded of her best friend.

Spencer looked between everyone and shrugged.

"I don't know. Las Vegas is in a desert. I never experienced snow growing up."

JJ made a sympathetic noise, obviously thinking that everyone should have the chance to experience the 'joys of snow'. Emily was jealous. He'd never had the nasty stuff slipped down the back of his neck and been laughed at by a circle of children as he tried to get it out while looking like some spastic frog. Ahem. Yeah. That never happened.

Morgan apparently found it hilarious if the way he chuckled and slapped Reid on the back was anything to go by.

"Bet moving here was a shock," he teased.

"Well, I had researched the best ways to cope with snow-"

"Of course, you did," Emily interrupted.

"-but articles don't exactly get across the reality of it."

Everyone had to laugh at his morose look. Oh, there was definitely a story there.
