Chapter 7
"We must destroy the Avatar," said a dark figure.
"But how, he is a master of all the elements, what weakness does he have?" said a familiar female voice.
"His heart is his biggest weakness. His friends are his strength. If something were to happen to his friends, it would cause him to be both physically, and emotionally vulnerable," said the first dark figure.
"How do you suppose we do that, the Avatar is always with his friends, how do we attack them without getting destroyed by him in the process?" asked the second figure.
"We must wait it out, timing has to be perfect."
"Well, even if we fail with the others capturing the others, we must ensure the capture of the Water Tribe girl. She is his greatest weakness, the one whom he loves most."
"Alright then, here's the plan."
It had been a couple of days, now Team Avatar was trying to enjoy another peaceful afternoon.
"These meetings are really starting to get to me. I can't take much more of this," Aang said frustrated.
"Yeah, they're going into the middle of the night and we all haven't gotten enough sleep," said a tired Katara.
"Yeah, Aang almost fell asleep on General Fong," Toph laughed. Aang scowled at her.
"Could be worse, I could've set my chair on fire because the council wanted me to have an arranged marriage," Aang replied.
"Hey, you would too if the council told you to marry some girl you didn't know and to dump your girlfriend. At least I wasn't hallucinating like I drank a tub of cactus juice," Zuko replied.
"HEY, IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT I HAVEN'T SLEPT WELL IN WEEKS. NOT TO MENTION THAT AANG WON'T LET US BUY MEAT WITH HIS AVATAR LICENSE AND THEY DON'T EVEN SERVE IT AT THE MEETINGS. My nutrition levels of meat and sleep are way down and it is having negative effects on my health."
"Sokka, I've been a vegetarian my whole life and now that I am not getting enough sleep doesn't mean that I think that Earth King Kuei is on fire," Aang said getting annoyed by Sokka's comments.
"Guys calm down, we're just a little tired and upse-" Katara started.
"QUIET WOMAN, THE MEN ARE TALKING!" Sokka yelled before getting water whipped in the forehead.
"CALM DOWN OR I WILL EARTHBEND YOU ALL TO KYOSHI ISLAND!" Toph yelled.
Team Avatar calmed down for a second.
"Sorry Katara, I am just a little on the edge," Sokka said.
"Whatever, that doesn't mean I forgive you," Katara replied.
"I think everyone needs to take a break from each other," Suki started.
"How about we split up and find things to do individually."
"Good idea Suki, do you wanna go for a nice walk with me?" Sokka asked kindly.
"Sure I'd love to," she replied.
"I'm heading over to the warrior's dojo," Mai said before walking out the door.
"I've come up with another scam. I'm gonna go try it out. See ya later," Toph said before running out the door.
"Bye guys we will be back from our walk soon," Suki said before leaving with Sokka.
That left Zuko, Katara, and Aang. Aang headed to the bathroom and Katara headed toward the balcony. Zuko followed her out.
"It's a nice sunset," Zuko said.
"Yeah," Katara said, blushing while thinking about her first kiss with Aang.
"Back in the Fire Nation, Mai and I always watched the sunset, even though she hates the color orange," he said, smiling at the sunset, thinking about Mai.
Zuko started to walk back inside, but all of a sudden he couldn't move. He tried to move his arm but it wouldn't respond. He couldn't move any muscle in his body. He tried to yell out to Katara, but his mouth wasn't moving. His body was standing on its own and the most he could force was a scrunching of his face.
"What's going on? I have no control. I need to tell Katara somehow. I need help," he thought to himself.
Katara saw Zuko's face scrunch up and thought he was in pain.
"Zuko, what's wrong? You look like you are in pain," she asked. Zuko nodded but he hadn't told his body to do so.
"Why did my body do that. I didn't move my muscle consciously. What is going on?!"
Katara ran to the kitchen and used her water to heal the wound. Zuko stood in a weird position, looking like he was leaning on something. Even though he was telling his body not to move, it wasn't responding to him. He had control of his eyes and darted around him trying to find something to help. He was alone on the balcony with nothing but Katara.
Katara turned around and yelled, "Aang, I need some help over here!"
"WHAT IS GOING ON? BODY, STOP I COMMAND YOU! HELP!" he thought as his body leaned in.
Katara turned her head back around and their lips touched and she pushed him off in a split-second.
As they kissed, Aang ran over to help Katara with whatever she needed.
"Katara..?" he whispered. His voice cracked and tears were dripping down his face.
Zuko wanted nothing more than to apologize to Aang and Katara. He had realized that he put his own, and Katara and Aang's relationship in jeopardy. Aang turned around and started running towards the back door.
"Wait, Aang!" she said as she chased him down.
He went out the back door and she watched as he flew away in the distance. Zuko saw her teary eyes as she walked back to him. She didn't face him as she put her hand over her face. Then she turned around a few seconds later.
"ZUKO?! WHAT THE HE-" she yelled louder than she ever has. Before she could finish, rock hands hit her in the back, knocking her out.
Zuko saw the three mysterious figures, but he was blacked out instantly before could react.
"Two down, four to go," the woman said laughing maniacally.
"Agents, take these two away," the mysterious man said.
"And you go take care of the blind girl," he said to the woman before she left.
"Agents, get the other three," he said before walking off.
Suki and Sokka were enjoying their walk before Suki stopped.
"What's wrong?" Sokka asked.
"Something's off, I think we are being watched," she said looking around. "Oh well," she said turning around to see her boyfriend gone.
"Sokka?" she yelled. She called his name a couple more times.
"Where did he go? This better not be one of his jokes because I will kick his b-" Before she could finish that thought, she blacked out.
Toph was scamming countless people. She was walking through an empty street.
She felt the presence of a man walking towards her. She turned around to face him.
"What is it? Are you going to steal from a poor, little, blind girl?" Toph said.
"I assure you that I am not interested in your money, I just want you to come with me," the man said as he earthbended an attack towards her.
She stopped the attack easily and trapped him in some earth.
"Hah! You'll have to do more than that to stop the Blind Bandit," she laughed.
A dozen more people appeared out of nowhere.
"More of you, eh?" she cracked her knuckles. "You guys are no match for the greatest earthbender of all time."
As Toph was about to attack, she lost control of her body.
"What's going on, punks? What kind of bending is th-"
She felt a familiar presence appear and heard a familiar cackle too.
"It's you," Toph scowled.
Before another word could be spoken, she was knocked out too.
Mai was training out alone in the yard. It had gotten pretty dark. She was practicing on a wooden practice dummy at the moment, but she was also practicing on her knife-throwing.
She took a break and sat on the bench. She quenched her thirst with cold water. Mai then walked over to the targets to collect her knives, only to find some of the knives missing.
"Strange..." Mai thought. She had started to get anxious.
Mai thought she saw some movement out of the corner of her eye and threw five knives in a quick burst. Nothing was there.
"I'm just being paranoid," she whispered to herself.
A second later, she blacked out.
