After the slaughter of the vampires at the compound, Marcel turned New Orleans and the compound over to the Mikaelsons like it had been before. The vampire slaughter had won Marcel over. He hadn't wanted more to die, but also he was done with this war against Klaus. He'd had enough of this. So, after the Mikaelsons and Katherine moved in, they took their old rooms back, while Katherine settled into a room between Klaus and Elijah's, which unbeknowst to her had been Kol's. Now that the war was over, Katherine was glad, because she knew that that meant she didn't need to fear a bunch of threats now. With Marcel no longer in power or living at the compound with them, she didn't need to fear Marcel and his vampires.

Shortly after everyone was settled in at the compound, Davina came to live with them, Katherine having explained everything to her, making Davina believe the truth about Marcel. He'd lied to her, but more than anything, he'd let the power get to his head. Marcel was like family to her, but being vengeful against a human Katherine wasn't something Davina cared for. She knew how she'd been as a vampire, but she knew that Katherine wouldn't harm a child. Not on purpose. When Davina had been younger, back when they'd been quite connected, she'd gotten to know her very well. She knew from Katherine that Katherine never wanted to put children in danger, because she'd had a daughter once that had been taken from her against her will. Nadia. She always felt sorry for Katherine after that, so she understood why Katherine had become the way she'd been as a vampire.

Katherine stood at the threshold of the guest room Davina was sorting through her stuff in, getting settled in.

"If there's anything you need, just let me know. Human or not, you can still trust me. This time, a lot more than when I was a vampire," Katherine told her.

When Davina heard her, having not sensed a presence, she looked at her.

"Thank you. You've always been truthful and trustworthy towards me. Are you sure I'm safe here, though?"

"You don't have to worry about Marcel. He's been kicked out of the Quarter. If he tries coming back to the Quarter, someone will deal with him. You can trust Elijah too. As for Rebekah? You can trust her, because to her, you're still a child. I think she's kind of fond of you. Klaus is another story. You can trust his word, but if I were you, at least until he warms up to you, I wouldn't do anything to make him think you're an enemy of his. He doesn't trust witches much, so you'll have to be careful. I'll try to see about keeping him in line, though. I think Klaus and I have an understanding. He listens more than he used to. He's probably just feeling guilty, though. I mean, he did only leave me alone with Rebekah, which he should've known wasn't enough protection for me," Kat told her.

"Speaking of that, are you okay?" Davina wanted to know. If Marcel wasn't like family to her, she probably would've killed him or made him wish he was dead for what he tried to do to Katherine.

"I'm okay. If I feel like I'm not, I'll let you know. I just have to take it easy for a while," she truthfully told the witch. As she'd told Davina back in the day, her mother had been what these times would call a nurse. Katherine was supposed to follow in her mother's footsteps, but she never did, considering what had happened to her before she'd turned into a vampire. That's how she knew that after being injured, she had to take it easy. "Look, Davina, if you want to talk about anything, just let me know. I'm here if you need anything. The Mikaelsons may not like to open up, but sometimes you just have to confide in someone you trust. And now that Marcel broke your trust in him, you don't have anyone you can really talk to, but you do have me. Believe me, I know what it's like. Elijah and I were together off and on for 500 years, but when I lied to him once, I broke his trust in me. I don't know if we'll ever be the same again. I don't even know if we'll ever be together again. He left when I asked him to choose Klaus or me. He chose Klaus, as always. I can't be mad at him, though. Family comes above all. Especially, for Elijah. He never lets himself love, because he's always been afraid that Klaus would retaliate. I'm going to have my work cut out for me if I want to earn his trust back, but at least he wouldn't let anything happen to me, whether he trusts me or not."

As she told Davina about her and Elijah, unbeknowst to her, Elijah was listening from a distance, not far from the stairs. He couldn't help it, considering she wasn't exactly being conspicuous.

Meanwhile, Sophie had found the remains of a witch that hadn't been consecrated. Celeste Dubois. She gave a smile, happy at finding the remains, needing it to finish The Harvest.

"Hello, Celeste."
