Cole and Kai were on the laptop that Borg had given them to control the drones, searching for Zane. They were getting really stressed, there was no sign of the Nindroid anywhere. They had already searched for hours, but not even a trace of their friend was to be found.

"Kai, he must've "gave up", if you know what I mean." Cole said, head in his hands. Kai was about to respond, until he saw some movement outside. White and blue. The Fire Ninja got up and walked over to the window, letting out a small gasp. Maya, who was on the couch, researching, noticed this.

"What is it, Kai?" She got up and joined him in front of the window. Her mouth widened, but soon bolted outside, not bothering to put on shoes.

"Kai? Talk to me, dude." Cole said, really curious. Kai turned to him, a bright smile on his face.

"It's Zane and Jay! They're home!"

"Wait, what? Are you serious?" The two ran outside.

Maya and Jay were hugging, tears of joy falling from both of their eyes. Zane stood there, smiling at the reunion.

"Zane, Jay! How are you guys here?" Cole said, clasping Zane on the shoulder. Zane's robotic eyes were filled with happiness.

"Nadakhan wanted me to make my wishes, I did, but I outsmarted him!" He said, beaming. As much as Cole did not like the fact that he made some wishes, he was proud of his friend. Outsmarting that Djinn was no easy feat.

"And, you got Jay back?" Kai asked, and Zane nodded.

" Yes, that was my final instruction. I had forced the Djinn to not twist my words, and, if he hurt anyone, he would get hurt tenfold. So, Jay should be alright."

Finally, when Maya had broken the hug, the rest of the team heard the commotion and, upon Nya seeing Jay, ran up to him. After giving him a kiss and a hug, she slapped him in the face, downright frustrated.

"What were you thinking?! You nearly died! And using Tiger Widow Venom?! What's wrong with you?!"

This is not going to end well. Kai thought. He debated defending Jay, but as Nya continued to rant, he realized that Jay could've died. Jay was a fool.

"Look, Nya, Iー"

"No, Jay! I'm talking! You can't just go out and risk your life like that! I can't lose you! You couldn't face Nadakhan alone before, what makes you think you could've done it again?!"

Tears of anger and sadness now were streaming down Jay's face as he responded. "I nearly got him! I nearly saved everyone, until he tricked me! That wouldn't have happened if we actually tried to find out what happened to my mom, now, would it? But, nooo. We didn't even bother!"

Suddenly, a beam of ice shot at the two, making the arguing cease. The ice had nearly missed Jay's foot. Everyone turned their eyes towards Zane, whose metal body was shaking. His eyes flickered from blue to orange, before he began to sway. Kai ran up to the Nindroid, catching him before he fell to the ground.

"Zane! Zane, what's going on?"

"My-my systems are mal- mal- function-n. I can't fi-find a sour-ce." Zane responded, struggling to form words. Jay and Nya were at his side in an instant, forgetting their argument, examining him. They both had a worried expression on their faces, Jay's face even turning pale when he looked at Zane's foot.

"Zane, I think Nadakhan is doing this. What do you wi一er, ask for?"

" To no-ot twist my wor-words, and not harm any-one."

"Did you say not to be harmed yourself?"

"N-no."

Nya sighed, pointing to Zane's leg. Rust was forming rapidly up his body, and Zane struggled to stay operational. Through his own eyes, he saw the words Shutting down over and over again, but forced an override. He had to stay awake, his team needed him.

"Zane, I know you don't want to, but we have to shut you down. The rust is spreading fast. If you're still on when it hits your main systems, we may lose you completely. Is that alright?" Nya asked, nodding to Jay, who went over to the Nindroid, hand hovering over his emergency shut off panel. Zane nodded, and Jay typed in the password, and Zane closed his eyes, losing power.

"Is he going to be alright?" Maya asked, watching the rust continue to form on the Nindroid's body. Nya nodded.

"He should be, but it's going to take a long time to fix. Jay and I will start working on it right away."

"And," Kai said, resting Zane on the ground softly, "...I need a walk, or someone is gonna die."

So, Kai left, not caring that Nadakhan may get to him. He would kill that Djinn, for what he did to them in the previous timeline, for what he did to Nya, for what he did to Jay, for what he did to Zane. Even what he did to Maya and Mo in the future. To Keith.

Kai soon heard shuffling behind him, and he turned around to see Maya, following him. Her auburn hair swayed with the wind as she looked at him, a sad smile on her face. Her face was flushed red, as if she had been running. A sword was sheathed on her belt, too. But Kai didn't think anything more about it.

"You shouldn't be alone." She said, walking closer to him. He sighed, nodding. He knew that, but still found no place in him to care.

"Look, I know you're trying to help, but I can take care of myself." Maya huffed.

"That's exactly what Keith said, right before unleashing Nadakhan on all of us. Do you plan on doing anything stupid?" He shook his head.

"No, I just hate the evil Djinn. I know we have to stick together, but I don't want to wait. I don't want to come up with a plan and have it fail. I wish that we would just attack him and be done with it!

"You called?" A sly voice said from behind them, making the two Ninja jump. Nadakhan. Maya instantly shot a combo of Lightning and Water, but the Djinn easily teleported away. When he appeared beside Kai, grabbing his arm, all the Ninja of Fire could do was let out a shout before being poofed away. He thought he felt a pull on his shirt, but maybe it was his imagination.

When he looked around, he was in a village, one that looked like…

"Jamoniki."

"Yes, Ninja of Fire, you are home. But, not at the right time." Kai'e eyes widened at the Djinn's words. He looked around more. The buildings looked a bit older, definitely older than what Kai was used to, but this whole situation seemed familiar, too. What was going on?

Soon, he saw a young man walking up to a door, tons of weapons in his hand. Kai concluded that this was his father. The man knocked on the door, but had it slammed in his face soon after, all of the weapons tumbling out of his hands. His father turned to Kai, who could see him, and asked for help.

Kai didn't know what to do. He could help his dad, but would that change the timeline? Was this even real? Kai was about to get mad, and wish himself away from here, until he remembered a conversation he had with Ray, soon after he got back from the future.

His dad had said he was rejected all of the time when he was younger. But, instead of getting angry about it, he decided to try again and again, learning from it. He wanted his son to do the same when things did not go his way. Kai took a deep breath, calming down.

Obviously, the Djinn wanted him to wish it all away. He wouldn't. His team needed him.

"I know what you're trying to do, Nadakhan. It's not going to work."

"Well, I have other ways to push you to your limit, Ninja."

"So do I, but for you, Nadakhan." A female voice said. Before the Djinn could turn around, Maya attacked him from behind, shooting him with Water and Lightning. Taken by surprise, the Djinn took the full force of the attack, falling to the ground.

Before he could get up, Kai unsheathed his sword, and went for the hit. Nothing happened.

"What?"

Nadakhan laughed, " Tiger Widow venom is the only thing that can hurt me! Your sword will do nothing!"

"But mine will!" Maya shouted, swinging her own sword. Kai saw that it was Jay's blade, the one that hurt the Djinn before. But, again, the sword did not even scratch the Djinn. The evil grin their enemy gave them made Kai angry. He was not holding his anger back this time.

"Why didn't it work?" Maya asked, dodging the Djinn's own attack.

"Did you cover it in Tiger Widow venom?" Kai asked, also attacking the Djinn. That was the only logical explanation. She shook her head no, worried. This did not turn out as expected. Kai suddenly remembered his dad, but the man was nowhere to be found. That was probably for the best.

Nadakhan, while the Fire ninja was distracted, grabbed Maya by the throat, choking her.

"Wish it all away, Kai, or your future niece dies!" Kai looked at Maya, the young woman clawing the Djinn's hands, frantically searching for breath. Her blue eyes were covered by her hair, but Kai knew she was scared.

" I...I...I wish…." Kai stammered, not knowing what to do. He had to save Maya, but he couldn't wish it all away. He soon found that he understood what future Jay had to go through, fighting the pride in not making wishes, but having to save your family at the same time. As much as he didn't want to, he had to save her.

"I wish it all一" His wish was interrupted by a shout. Maya, in her fear, had shocked Nadakhan, forcing him to drop her, currents of electricity flowing all across his body. Nadakhan was disoriented. Maya took advantage of it.

"I wish that Keith be freed from the Djinn Blade and out of his coma!" Maya shouted, and, as the Blade began to glow red, Kai also made a wish.

"I wish Maya, Keith, and I back to where you had grabbed us!"

"AUGH!" Nadakhan shouted, frustrated by the fact that they were making wishes to help themselves. But, he had to comply.

"As you wish!" He said, and teleported away.

Keith was on the ground, groaning. Kai and Maya ran up to him, and as soon as they had touched him, appeared where Kai and Maya were taken.

" Keith? Keith, can you hear me?" Maya asked softly, shaking his shoulder. The future Fire Ninja cracked open his eyes, first looking at Maya, then at Kai. His eyes widened, and before he could say anything, Kai interrupted him.

"It's not me, Keith. I'm your father's past self. You're in my time now." He said. Keith looked confused, but nodded, getting up.

"You were in the Blade, and in a coma after you unleashed Nadakhan. Mo and I traveled to the past to get help, and Kai got you out of the Blade. You're safe now." Maya clarified, supporting Keith, who couldn't stand up on his own.

" Okay, I guess that makes sense...wait, I released Nadakhan? That was so dumb of me….I'm so sorry."

" You miss your dad," Kai said, wrapping Keith in a hug. Kai wasn't much of a hugger, but what else could he do? " It's okay. You should've never had to go through what you did."

"No! I'm probably to blame for all of this! I let Nadakhan go! I'm at fault! I'm so sorry!" Kaith said, beginning to sob. Kai let him cry on his shoulder, whispering that it was okay. That it's going to be okay.

Once Keith had gotten a hold of his emotions, Kai, Maya, and Keith made their way back to the base. Once they arrived, they saw the remains of the battle. Kai rushed up to his sister, who was cradling her arm.

"Nya! What happened?"

"Nadakhan's crew attacked us while you were out. They just fought us, not having a goal, it seemed, but they ran off eventually." At this, she noticed Keith, who looked around wonderingly. "Keith, you're out of the Blade! It's good to see you." She said with a smile. In return, he nodded.

"Is everyone okay?" Maya asked, searching for her father. Nya nodded.

" Yep. I think we're all good. Jay's good. Just a bit sore, he went in to go check on Zane, who is still out of commission, by the way. I think Lloyd is trying to help Mo. He turned into a wolf and can't seem to become human again."

Keith and Maya's eyes widened. " It happens when he can tell something is off. If he's stuck being a wolf, somethings not right." Keith said, looking over at the blond wolf that roamed around, running from Lloyd, and howling. "That is not a good sign."

"And, what about Cole?" Kai asked, running through their teammates' names in his brain. "And Sensei Wu?

"Wu's on a trip, he left yesterday, remember? And Cole…" Nya glanced around, looking for said Ninja, " I haven't seen him since the attack."

"Cole? Cole!" Maya shouted, searching for the Earth Ninja. Everyone joined her. They found no trace of him, no sign of what happened to him.

Lloyd had managed to calm Mo down, and, while speaking soft words, helped Mo turn back to his human form, tears in his eyes.

"They took Cole! They took Cole while we were all distracted!"

Expect an update soon! Thanks for reading! Again, thanks to Seleine16 for the Kai vs. Nadakhan idea.
