I heard about Bryke quitting the Netflix show earlier today. I'm really disappointed with Netflix. I'm really hoping the backlash will make Netflix cancel the live-action (or allow Bryke to do explore their ideas) and continue with an animated Book 4.

Chapter 14

Sokka opened the door, he was still in his sleeping robes. He yawned and stretched as he checked the mail. There was mail posted right outside the door. There were seven letters hung. He opened a letter and he dashed right back inside.

"Guys, guys!" Sokka yelled.

They were all sitting in the living room.

"Yeah, Sokka?" Aang asked.

"Our forms came!" he answered.

He tossed the letters to each member of Team Avatar. Everyone began reading.

"Um, guys?" Toph said.

"What, Toph?" Katara asked. Her eyes were still glued onto the paper.

"I'm BLIND."

Katara's eyes widened and she turned to Toph. "Sorry, I'll go over it with you."

Katara started to explain what the letters were saying and Aang turned to Zuko.

"It says here that we have to make fake names," he said, pointing at the sheet.

"Hmm..." They had both started to brainstorm some name ideas.

"...I think...my name will be..." Aang pondered. "Oh, I know! I'll be known as Kuzon."

Zuko stroked his chin. "I think I'll... I'll be... Lee! I'll be Lee!"

"Guys, did you hear that?" Aang asked. Everyone was too focused on reading and Toph was too busy listening to Katara.

"GUYS?" he said a little louder. They all looked up at him. "Zuko is going to be called Lee, and I'm going to be called Kuzon."

"Great, I'll be," he continued in an accent, "Wang Fire!"

Katara shook her head. "Sokka, you don't need a nickname. You aren't as famous as Zuko or Aang." Sokka took it as an insult. He crossed his arms and looked the other way.

"Wait.. wasn't 'Kuzon' your Fire Nation name? When we had that dance party?" Toph asked.

A memory of the dance flashed into Katara's mind. She thought about how suave he had been. Katara was staring up into the ceiling recounting the whole scene. Her cheeks were flushed and her heartbeat was starting to get faster.

Toph noticed and spoke up more about the dance. "I remember how basically every girl fell for Twinkletoes. Sugar Queen got a little jealous when Aang danced with that girl." Toph snickered at the last part.

Those words woke Katara up from her daydream. "I-I wasn't jealous!" Katara was angry but that anger was soon replaced with embarrassment. Her cheeks turned a really deep shade of red as she realized that the Gaang had been laughing at her.

"Katara, did you really get jealous?" Aang laughed.

"I... I-I..." she stammered.

"Oh c'mon Sugar Queen. You two are dating now. It wouldn't hurt to admit it," Toph interjected.

Katara rolled her eyes. "Okay, maybe I was a little jealous," she said shyly. She looked down at the ground to hide her flushed face.

Aang kissed her on the cheek. "It's cute when you're like this."

Katara blushed a little more and pulled him into a kiss. They shared a long one and everyone was watching. Katara nor Aang didn't care.

Sokka disrupted Aang and Katara. "Umm... you guys?" Sokka said.

They stopped kissing and Katara gave Sokka the death glare. "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR STUPID OOGIES!"

"No, no, it's not that. It's just that I've thought of something," Sokka replied.

"What is it?" Aang asked.

"Well, I realized that you two cannot be dating," Sokka started.

"What? That isn't a rule," Katara exclaimed.

"No, it's not, but Katara is dating Aang right now, right?"

Katara nodded, urging him to continue.

"Aang will not be Aang, he'll be going to school as Kuzon. The same goes for Zuko. He can't be dating Mai. You guys are probably the two most popular couples in the world. If people see you guys dating then rumors will spread and everyone will think something scandalous is going on," Sokka explained.

"Oh," Katara looked down, "I didn't think of that."

"I guess we have to be single until the end of the semester," Aang said.

"You two also can't know each other because you've never met," Toph added.

"She's right, we have to be really separate from each other," Katara said in an unhappy tone.

"We can handle it, Katara," Aang said, trying to be optimistic. Truthfully, he wasn't sure if they could handle it.

Everyone started to write on their forms, writing down their classes and their information.

"Hmm, what bending class should I take," Aang asked.

"You could take waterbending with me," Katara responded.

"He can't take waterbending with you. It's a big risk that we shouldn't take. He wouldn't be from the Northern Water Tribe because nobody would recognize him. He also wouldn't be from the South because you're the last waterbender. As a bonus, he doesn't even look Water Tribe," Sokka said.

"Good point, Sokka," Suki said.

Katara had visible sadness on her face. She wouldn't be able to hang out with her boyfriend at all.

"Well, there's no airbending (obviously), so I have to choose earth or firebending. I think I'll take firebending because I'm nowhere near a master yet," Aang said.

The others agreed with him and they finished choosing their classes. Aang had signed up for firebending, history, and dance.

Katara glanced over at Aang's sheet to see what he was taking. "You're taking dance? You're the best dancer I know," Katara said.

"Everything about me is pretty outdated, which means my dancing is too. I could learn some new moves too. Maybe I could use them the next time we go out dancing," Aang winked.

Katara leaned over and pecked his cheek.

"Well, school starts tomorrow, so we better get our rest in," Sokka said.

Everyone agreed and they mostly relaxed in their rooms or in the living room.

"Alright, Zuko, time to put on the make-up," Aang said.

They opened the shipment of make-up and started to apply it. Zuko had finished in a couple of minutes while Aang took longer. Aang had tried to reach around his back, but he couldn't properly cover his tattoos.

Aang approached Katara with a blush on his face. "Katara... could you maybe... put the make-up on my back..?"

"Sure." The pair walked back over to the bathroom. Aang took off his shirt, he was still blushing a little bit.

Katara had wondered why he was blushing, but she realized quickly after. Sure, she had seen him shirtless during healing sessions but she never actually touched him while healing him.

She started applying the make-up and didn't finish until a few minutes later. Not many words were exchanged and they had blushed the entire time.

"Thanks, Katara."

"No problem," she smiled at him.

The Gaang had finished getting ready and walked over to the school.

"Hey Aang," Sokka started, "you should go ahead with Zuko. If people see you guys walking with us they might figure out your secret."

"Alright, c'mon," Aang motioned for Zuko to walk ahead with him.

Zuko and Aang got to school and hung out by the entrance. The rest of the Gaang arrived a few minutes later. Katara and Toph waited by the entrance too.

Toph felt a familiar presence walking towards Aang. "Uh oh," Toph snickered.

"What? What's so funny?" Katara asked as she looked around.

Toph pointed towards Aang. "Your man is already being approached by a girl, this one is familiar." Katara turned to see a familiar figure walking towards Aang, but she couldn't quite remember who it was. The girl tapped on Aang's shoulder.

"Kuzon?! Is it really you?" On Ji hugged him.

Katara's face started getting heated. Toph laughed at the change.

"On Ji? What are you doing here?" On Ji broke out of the hug.

"After the war ended, Fire Lord Zuko declared a school reformation. Many Fire Nation students were transferred here to Ba Sing Se. I was one of them," she replied.

Zuko and Aang looked at each other intensely. On Ji noticed.

"Oh, and who's this?" On Ji asked.

"This is my friend, Lee. We met after I returned to the Fire Nation colonies in the Earth Kingdom."

"Yeah, Kuzon and I practiced firebending together and now we've become good friends," Zuko added.

"Wait, you can firebend? I didn't see you use firebending when you fought Hide."

"I don't like to use it to fight," Aang responded.

"Why didn't I see you here until now?" On Ji asked.

"Kuzon and I moved from Yu Dao to Ba Sing Se. Our parents became good friends too and they decided to move here. They didn't like the situation there," Zuko explained.

"What happened to all your hair?"

"Erm..." he tried to come up with an excuse. "It was... burnt off! My hair got caught on fire during a duel and it looked so bad afterward so I decided to cut it."

"Well, you-"

"Sorry, but Lee and I need to turn in our registration papers," Aang interrupted her.

"Alright then, we'll see each other later?" she asked.

"Yeah, see ya."

Aang and Zuko waited to the office and turned in their sheets. The rest of Team Avatar went in a few minutes later and turned in their sheets. They got their schedules quickly after. Team Avatar opened the door and they were surrounded by fans.

"Is the Avatar here?"

"Where's the Avatar?"

"Did the Fire Lord come?"

"Where are the Fire Lord and the Avatar?"

The Gaang was too swarmed to answer all the questions. 'Kuzon' and 'Lee' managed to get out of the swarm and got to their homeroom.

"Umm... Avatar Aang is busy doing a job for Earth King Kuei," Katara explained. A bunch of fans left disappointed.

There were still some fans waiting there. Mai sighed. "I'm assuming you're looking for Zuko. He's not here. He's busy leading his country."

The rest of the fans left with sad looks on their faces.

"We're only popular because of Aang and Zuko?" Sokka asked.

"We have some fans, but Zuko and Aang are just on a whole new level," Toph said.

The Gaang finished their first day of school and went back to their house.

"You're pretty popular, Twinkletoes, and nobody even knows you're the Avatar!" Toph said.

"Heh heh, yeah. Zuko's pretty popular too," Aang said.

"Especially among the ladies," Mai started. "I kept hearing girls talking about you two."

"Yeah, girls were CRAZY about you two," Suki added.

"I just wish that they would stop flirting with you, it's so frustrating to watch," Katara chimed in.

"I feel your pain, sister," Mai responded.

"Well, I'd love to talk about Aang and Zuko all day but I got some homework to do. Care to join me, Suki?" Sokka said.

"Oh please, Sokka. You're probably just going to cheat off of her paper," Katara joked.

Sokka opened his mouth to speak, but Suki rushed him up the stairs to her room. The rest of Team Avatar began working on their homework as well. Eventually, they had dinner and gone to bed. They had been exhausted from this day of school, yet there were plenty more to come.
