Heres a short one-shot Amourshipping story revolving around Diancie and the cocoon of destruction, nothing much to say other than that i hope you enjoy.
It was the end of the line, the end of a journey, the end of something Ash didn't know he had. When someone you love dies they don't feel much sorrow do they, it is more you who takes the pain of loss when one dies. Ash didn't even know Serena loved him, he didn't even have the time to process what these feelings were or what they meant. That's how short their time was. One second Ash, Serena, Bonnie, and Clemont were trying to help Diance find Xerneas to help her on her quest to find the heart diamond, the next moment Serena was dying right before his very eyes. Ash had died many times before it was a miracle he was still walking on this planet but he had never really lost a friend like this. Serena started her journey to find him because she remembered him from summer camp and they started traveling together. It was different, she was different, maybe he was too. Out of all the times, he was hit by fire, electricity, ice, metal, wind, plants, water, rocks, and even psychic or dragon energy even of legendary status he had never felt so much pain.
Ash could remember it in full detail… how Serena turned to stone, and those last words she said to him. He touched his cheek where she cupped and drew him closer to her
"I love you Ash" Serena whispered in his ear
(Flashback)
The group were running, running from Yvetial and its sinister Oblivion wing attack. "COME ON GUYS" Bonnie shouted in front of them.
"We're running *pant* as fast as we can *Pant*" Clemont said as he lagged behind like always. Suddenly Serena got hit by Yevetial's attack and fell down. "oww" Serena said. The honey blonde aspiring performer felt herself get hit by the attack and felt like her time was near.
"Serena No" The group yelled. Ash for unknown reasons to him, ran to his childhood friend and held her stone figure in his arms.
"You can't go… not like this"
"This is it for me, thank… you… Ash" Serena whispered weakly. Using the last bits of her strength she grabbed his left cheek and gently kissed him on his lips before letting go. Her entire body encased in stone.
"No… SERENA" Ash yelled. He cradled her body in his arms while crying.
"SERENA" Bonnie yelled.
Diancie looked at the scene with rage, an emotion she hardly felt before. These humans they were amazing they showed her many things she never saw before. Diancie felt a strong bond with them and their Pokemon as well. Diancie remembered the fond memories of Serena dressing up with her and Bonnie at the shopping center, playing with Bonnie and the Pokemon, Clemont's ideas and inventions that he made to try and help, and all the courage and determination Ash gave to her.
Now there they all were, Serena was dead and Ash was in pain and Pikachu, Bonnie, and Clemont were saddened as well, Diancie was sad. Serena was one of the six kindest souls she had ever met and she could tell through this bond with the humans that Serena and Ash had quite the strong bond together and because of her that bond had been severed.
She was supposed to be a princess and a princess was supposed to protect her people yet these people were the ones protecting her. Diancie felt something it wasn't pure rage it was… determination and not just any but a powerful one fueled by the emotions she felt for these humans and their Pokemon and all the others she'd met on her journey.
Diancie said, "That's enough, I can't just stand here anymore and do nothing. We said we were sorry what more could you want? These humans and their Pokemon protected me I think it is my turn to return the favor."
The Diamond Diancie gave Bonnie started to glow brightly and it seemed Diancie became engulfed in a rainbow light at the same time. The professor said Pokemon could only mega evolve with a strong bond through a human and it seemed Diancie didn't just have a bond with one but four. She transformed into a radiant and elegant Pokemon. She looked like a queen now in a dress of diamonds she felt a new power surge through her.
"Is that…?" Clemont began in awe.
"Her mega form? She's so pretty~" bonnie said as her eyes sparkled in awe.
With Diancie in her mega form she began to for a massive diamond in front of her, Meanwhile Xerneas appeared and walked over to Ash and the others.
"Child…" the legendary spoke "This human means a lot to you, allow me to restore your happiness. But first allow me to quell the dire situation" It fallowed.
Xerneus walked up to Yvetial and stared at him for a moment, he nodded and flew away. The legendary stag/deer Pokemon put a hoof on Serena's stone body as it began to glow and with in a few short moments Serena opened her eyes,
"Serena your back" Ash cried in joy, hugging his child hood friend close to him. She returned the hug with a slight blush.
"His rage has ended, he'll go far away and hurt no one else" it said before it began to glow. "What was Xerneas doing?" Bonnie asked curiously. "It used Geomancy" Clemont breathed in awe.
"Thats was so awesome" Bonnie said.
"Ash are you ok?" Diancie asked in concern. "I'm fine" Ash said.
"I'm so sorry this happened, and it happened because i was acting like a spoiled Pokemon" Diancie said in shame, then she felt a hand on her shoulder. she looked up to see Ash smiling down at her.
"Hey, we did have fun with you, Just be yourself alright" Ash said lifting the Jewel Pokemon's spirits.
"Thank you so much… and" Diancie hopped up to Ash's cheek and kissed it. The Carbink awed at the kiss to a human.
"Not the first time a Pokemon kissed me" Ash said making the others laugh at Ash getting some love from a Pokemon.
(Later that night)
After the group said goodbye to Diancie and the Carbink who went back to their home, their crisis averted. The group set up camp under the stars, after dinner they set up their tents and decided to look up at the stars before heading to bed.
"Its so beautiful" Serena said.
"Yeah…" Ash said quietly.
"Ash, is there something wrong?" she asked in concern.
"I thought you wouldn't come back to us, the group wouldn't be able to continue without you" Ash said through forming tears in his eyes. "We just saw each other again after so long, i didn't want you to die" Serena gasped.
"Oh Ash" Serena said, she gently pulled him into a hug and rubbed his back consolingly.
"Do i mean that much to you?" she asked.
'You do, your the greatest girl i've ever traveled with. I'm really glad i met you that day" Ash said, Serena blushed at his words.
The two gently laid in the grass and looked up at the stars, Ash pointed to one.
"Lets make a wish on that star up there" ash said pointing at a random star in the distance.
"A-Alright" Serena said.
The two held their hands together and began to make a wish.
I hope to be the greatest Pokemon trainer there ever was, i will not get in the way of Serena's dream and help her in any way i can, when I'm old and frail, i will look up at the same star and thank it for all that it has given me.
After the two had made their wish they soon went to bed. Ash and Serena went in to the same tend together, they'd assumed that Bonnie made one of her excuses to INTENTIONALLY give Ash and Serena the same tent.
"So this makes us a couple now huh?" Ash asked.
"Yeah" Serena said.
"This may take some getting used to" he said.
"Well, even if you don't remember those memories back then we can start from square one again" Serena said. The two got comfortable and shared one final kiss before closing their eyes, excited for the journey to continue.
Back at the kingdom Diancie heard their wish and she smiled while looking at that same star in the sky.
May those two grow in their relationship and as people. Let their relationship help them conquer anything thats in front of them and allow them to live a happy life together.
