Amber Jones shivered as she walked towards Retroville Elementary. It was the first day back to school after Winter Break and the cold weather had come swirling in.

Amber was dressed for it in a thick light blue winter's jacket, white mittens, khaki pants, and tan ugg boots, but still, the weather chilled the poor girl to the bone.

Just then, a limo pulled up beside her, the window rolling down to reveal her friend Liam O' Seagh. "Need a lift, Chilly?"

"Y-you have n-no idea." Amber chattered.

Liam opened the door and quickly ushered Amber into his limo, pulling her close. "Ooh, you really are chilly."

Amber blushed as Liam held her close. They had never been so close before. "Thanks for stopping, Liam." She managed to say.

"Anything for a friend," Liam replied. "Now, when we get to school, we run inside, ok?"

"Trust me, I'd rather spend as little time in the cold as I can." Amber confirmed.

As soon s the limo pulled up to Retroville Elementary, the two friends bolted for the school. The O' Shea family butler, Shane smiled from the driver's seat. "She is a good one, young master. Keep her close."

Amber let out a contented sigh as she and Liam walked into the school building, which was nice and toasty warm. "That's so much better."

"Agreed." Liam rubbed his hands together. "Nothing like a warm building to banish the frost." As the two walked toward their classroom, they noticed Betty Quinlan and her boyfriend David Milo hugging tightly by the former's locker. The sight made Amber frown.

Liam noticed her frown. "You'd have that too if you would move on from me. I've told you that before."

Amber shook her head. "It's not that easy, Liam," she looked at him and took his hands. "You're more than just a cute face. You have a loving soul, a gold heart. Even if you are so unbearably stubborn at times."

"If my stubbornness is so unbearable, then why don't you give it up? You'd be happier." Liam shrugged.

Amber smiled sadly. "You just don't get it, do you?" she put a hand on Liam's cheek. "The way I feel about you… it's more than just a schoolyard crush. More than just a little fling." She leaned in close. "I love you, silly. Really and truly. I want to hold you close for the rest of my life. I don't care what promise you made. What's the worst that could happen? I'm sure your father would want you to be happy."

"You don't know my father. He and I take the promises we make very seriously. You Americans often say that honesty is the best policy. Well, it is the O' Seagh clan's only policy." Liam sighed. "Which is why the divorce devastates us so."

Amber sighed and stepped back. "Liam, what happened between your parents is horrible. I'm sorry you and your dad had to suffer that. But the past is in the past. You just need to learn from it."

"I did. I learned to guard my heart." Liam insisted.

Amber shook her head. "That's running from it, cutie. Looks like someone needs to watch The Lion King again."

Liam pulled a face. "No, thanks. I tend to skip those cinematic trainwrecks."

Behind them, David made a sound like a strangled frog. "Hold on a second there, O' Seagh. Are you telling me you've never seen the original animated classic?"

Liam raised an eyebrow. "There's an animated Lion King?"

Betty shook her head. "Oh, this will not do."

"No, it won't," David agreed. He pointed at Amber and Liam. "This weekend, the two of you are spending the night at my house and we are watching Lion King."

Amber smiled. "I think my parents will be okay with that."

Liam thought it over. "I may need transportation to and from. Shane retires at 6:30 pm on Fridays and sleeps in until around 11 on Saturdays."

Amber took his hand. "Leave that to me."

Betty kissed David's cheek. "I'm invited too, right?"

David smiled and pulled his girlfriend close. "Of course. I can't enjoy a movie without my favorite movie buddy."

Amber put a hand to her heart. "You two are so cute together."

"They do seem compatible… and happy." Liam noted.
