Other Side Of The Stars Prolouge, a warriors fan fiction.
(Disclaimer: Gray Wing and Clear Sky and NOT my cats and belong to Erin Hunter, as does the warrior series)
Many have heard of the tale of Gray wing and Clear Sky's journey to the forest, where the first four clans were born. What's many don't know is the story of the other four clans.
After the first group left to find the forest, quite a few cats regretted not going with them. This, these cats decided to take their wine journey to find a new home, going the direct opposite of the others. Lead by the eldest, Tumble Light, 12 cats set out of the mountains In search of their new home. It took moons, and moons of walking through the mountains and down to the ground below for these cats to finally find what they were looking for. Large territory surrounding a lake. The cats were skeptical of the land at first, sending four cats to investigate further; Forest Shadow, Marsh Pool, Moor Runner, and Rocky Peak. Each cats found territory that seemed to suit each cats strengths perfectly.
Forest Shadow found a beautiful tree filled land, which he, Mouse Squeak, and Yellow Tooth would love, seeing as they adored hunting small prey in a secure environment.
Marsh Pool found a wet lands, scattered with rivers that lead to the lake. The young shecat knew she, Sun Light, Tumble Light, and Misty Morning would love the territory , as these tree we're skilled catching fish and other animals in wet environments.
Moor Runner found perfect open plains. Hills and valleys adorning the open land. She was positive that's herself, High Cliff, and Blue Flower would love these plains, as their long legs and sped made for great skills to have in the new land.
Rocky Peak found a tree scattered, rock covered territory. It was a very uphill territory, which Rocky Peak knew himself, Dark Moon, and Cloudy Sky would adore, as the three of them were build for more mountain like territory.
Small groups as they were, many rouges and kittypets unsatisfied with their lives joined them. After many, many moons, these groups grew to be quite large. They never had any structure or laws for their land and cats, it was just to choose where you could live best, and get along. It stayed that way since the moment they had arrived there, and it would have kept going like this unless the elder, Tumble Light, had not been draw away by a voice to a cave with a glowing pool deep in it. It was here that he met the voice that had lead him there. An old cat that once lived in his old home in the mountains. The cat had long passed from the world, but that did not stop the cat from communicating.
"W-Who are you? Why have I been called here?" The old orange and white tom cat asked.
"Tumble Light of the marsh cats land, welcome. I bring you news of cats from miles past." The light gray star-like cats purred.
"I'm sorry, I don't follow." Tumble Light tilted his head to display his confusion.
"My name is Falling Stone, I died years before you were born." The gray shecat dipped her head.
"Well, greeting then, Falling Stone. You um, said you bring news? Is it about the mountains I once called home?" Tumble Light asked, respectfully dipping his head to the star-cat.
"That I did. Mile and miles away, over the mountains and into the wild lies the other group that split from the mountains." The star-cat started.
"That's right! I remember them! They left a Moon before we did!" Tumble Light exclaimed, his ginger orange tail curling with joy.
"I'm glad you remember them. Just like you have done with the cats in your new home, the other did in theirs. The ancestor of your past decided it was time to create more than just groups living wildly. The four territories your cats live in must be set into boundaries, rules must be placed before they crumble. Form not groups, but clans. Following a leader, and a cat to lead under the leader. Bring up cats who's knowledge in healing and herbs shall be unmatched by others. Set up ranks to be followed and to grow from. Set codes of laws to be enforced for each cats safety. Just like the others did, i know you and the others will know what to do. Yes, it will take time, and yes, it will be difficult. But those who have knowledge of herbs, and the leaders may come to this pool and speak with the ancestors of the past." Falling Stone stepped back, letting all that she had said soak into Tumble Lights head.
"You don't really expect me to be able to do this all, do you?! I'm just the elder, the oldest cat here!" Tumble Light protested, by the star-cat shook her head.
"Do you doubt the clan of your ancestors judgement on who they trusted with this information?" Falling Stone challenged.
"N-no! I just don't think I can do this alone!" Tumble Light pawed nervously at the ground.
"You are not alone, though. You already have four cats to help you. The marsh cat, forest cat, moor cat, and rocky cat." Falling stone tried to explain, but it only added to Tumble Lights confusion.
"Who are these cats? Where can I find them!?" Tumble Light asked in a pleading voice.
"You already have." Falling Stone pressed to tip of her nose to Tumble Light's head. He saw the pelts of Forest Shadow, Marsh Pool, Moor Runner, and Rocky Peak flash across his view. When Falling Stone removes her nose, the elder cats gasped.
"Of course! They've always been our leader, of a sort. They're perfect!" Tumble Light's eyes lit up.
"Now you understand that which I have spoken, go now. The clans await your word, Eldest One. Starclan is watching over you, just as we are the others." Falling Stone then faded away, waking Tumble Light from his dream. All of the tiredness that came with being old left him and he dashed back to his home, calling all the cats together to discuss what was told to him.
The next day, Forestclan, Marshclan, Moorclan, and Rockyclan were born. Cats with the best herb knowledge were chosen as the Medicine Cats, and each leader chose their own deputy. Tumble Light was nominated as the Eldest One, or the clans advisor who travel from own clan to the next, spreading his advice and knowledge to all trouble that he came across. The Laws Of the Stars, or their code, was created, and a meeting of all four clans with the Eldest One was held every time the moon was at its fullest. At the time, all was at peace, but the four clans knew not that their future held dark fortune and heavy burdens that even the stars couldn't foretell. Darkness that no cats saw coming until the day it happened.
