Hashébaa' : Female Warrior Chapter 3 : Family Reunion

Bella walked toward the house with purpose. She had gone through the many ways this conversation could go and, to her own vexation, even in her head, they were not that good. With that thought on her mind, she walked through the door. She could hear her brothers' heartbeats in the large den and, after she dropped her bags, she headed in that direction. When she got in the room she stared at her brothers for a long while. Both had cut off their long luscious locks of midnight black hair, to fit in with the pack she presumed. As her eyes roamed over them, she noticed many scars had been added to their russet skin. Both had seemed to have aged, but that might have just been the hardened looks in her brothers' eyes. Both were unnaturally large as usual, but they had grown a few inches as years passed.

Julious watched Isa with calculating eyes. It had been many years since they had last talked and he had not left on good terms. Charles, on the other hand, was scared shitless. He knew just how powerful and dangerous his triplet sister could be when you would get on her bad side. Deep down he knew that she would never truly hurt him, but he also knew that to her, that just meant that she wouldn't leave any permanent damage. It was at that point he noticed that he and Julious were on the far side of the room away from Isa. To show signs of trust he stepped forward, cautiously, like he was approaching a scared animal. He was afraid that one wrong move would set her off. "Hey, sis." Isa just stared at him with an unreadable expression on her face. "Nothing between us has changed. Not until we talk anyway." Then there was just awkward silence. "Well? Talk." At this the two brother's shared a look and after a pushing glance from Julious, Charles started to speak. "I just want to start with saying I am sorry with the way I reacted all those years ago. I know that you were only trying to help us and keep us from getting anyone else killed. While I might not agree with your methods to get us into top shape, I know you had our best interest at heart." You could tell Charles' apology was heartfelt and sincere. Julious was thinking that it had been so long since the trio had seen each other the details were kind of foggy. "I HATE YOU, ISA!" This slowed the aforementioned girl. "We have to sleep sometimes you know. We weren't made to be your personal whipping boys for the rest of our lives." Even if she didn't let it show, this hurt Isa deeply. "I'm just trying to help you, brother. When we are on the battlefield, I can't be your sister. I have to be your leader. The leader that doesn't get distracted by such trivial things such as feelings." Charles scoffed at this. "Feelings are what make you human, so I guess you are just a monster." Now this made the girl stop in her tracks. "You think I'm a monster?" "That's right. I do. And you know what? I am leaving. I never want to see you again." At this point Julious had entered the room to try and see what all the commotion was. "Are you with me, Julious?" And with that Charles walked out the door, bags in hand. Jullious sent a longing glance towards his obviously heartbroken sister, but deep down he knew that Charles needed him the most. So with a muffled 'yeah' he walked out of Isa's life, for what he thought to be forever.

Julious was brought out of his thoughts by the mention of Quil. "Quil wouldn't have wanted this for us, you know?" Charles gave a little laugh. "He was always so set on togetherness and going through the world as a family. Now look at us. We haven't talked in five years and are talking to each other like any minute we'll attack one another." They all went silent at this. "I miss him, you know." Isa looked down, but not before Charles could catch the look of grief in his sister's eyes. "Every single day." And with that she attacked the brothers in an iron grip hug. "I missed you too. No matter how annoying you two 'áhályání are." They all laughed at that. For the next couple of hours the trio talked about all the things that they had missed in each other's lives for the past couple of years. Isa found out that while everyone knew of Julious' familial connection to Sam, none of the pack but Quil knew not one thing about Charles. This didn't surprise her. Her brothers were always one for a mystery. So, it also didn't surprise her when she had found that neither of her brothers had told their pack mates about their family and how none of them were human. She couldn't wait to see the pack's reactions when they found out that the mysterious help was none other than the 'leech lover' herself. Isa's inner beast growled a little at that name. Those mutts just did not understand what she went through to get to where she is today. She didn't even love the parasite. How could you love an animated corpse? She sighed at that thought. It was a sacrifice, but she was known to do anything for her family. Her boys. Even kissing a vampire and making nice with his so-called family wasn't where the line was drawn.

Isa glanced out of the window at her brothers. They had moved outside and were now playing around in their wolf forms. She loved seeing them like this. She always thought of this as their purest forms at heart and it made her day to see them so joyful after all the hardships that they had been through in their young lives.

The two brothers stopped what they were doing and took a moment to

look at their sister. Julious was remembering the days when she was more like a mother than sister, and would hold him as he cried, lecture him when he did wrong, and patched him up when he fell down. Charles was thinking of the days when it was just him, Quil, and Isa. The three were inseparable and could always be found with Julious at their side. The four's relationship was one built off of years of trust, love, and seeing each other in their most vulnerable moments. Their close friendship was obviously fractured when his triplet brother, Quil, was found dead. They all reacted differently and badly to that tragedy. Julious holed himself up in his room and refused to talk to anybody. Isa fled the rez, after receiving instructions for some weird request from their eldest brother, and moved in with their father, refusing to contact home during her time away. Charles wasn't very proud of his actions either. He jumped off a cliff trying to end the pain of the absence of his other halves, but before he could reach the bottom and end his life, he phased in to a gigantic horse sized wolf. When he made that discovery he rushed to find Julious, who then phased himself after the shock took over. When that

happened, the duo's personalities changed even more. They often kept to themselves and, after their brothers' training and support, they became the toughest wolves around. When they first arrived in La Push no one trusted them, especially since neither of the brothers were very willing to give up details about their past. They both knew that their sister did not tell any of the pack about her past, and they were not about to say anything to the wolves that could anger her.

Julious and Charles shook their coat dry as they entered the garage of their new home. Isa had told the two many stories of her years in dreary Forks, and it seemed as though she was right. There was not one ray of sunshine in this place. They grew up in Navajo, which was all heat and no rain. As they walked inside, they admired the house. While their sister had plenty of her bad and annoying moments, she did know her stuff when it came to interior design. Their house was beautiful. When they got to their chosen rooms, Julious really felt his sister's absence. He couldn't have designed the room better himself. It fit him and his taste perfectly and reminded him why he and his brothers always said 'Sissy knows best'.

After the boys got settled down they figured that it would be best to let their presence be known to the other shifters in town. Charles remembered having scented multiple trails belonging to wolves headed in a certain direction and thought that that would be a great place to start. As the boys followed the trail they realized that they spotted a small cottage in a clearing a half mile or so away from them so they surged forward. As they made their way closer to their destination the duo noticed that the voices from the house had decreased. When they phased back and walked up to the door, they realized that the voices had stopped entirely. At this point, Julious knocked on the door and footsteps were heard. When the door opened, Julius almost rolled his eyes. There his brother was, the almighty Samuel Uley, as imposing as ever, looking like the most dangerous guy on this side of town.

When Sam opened the door he was not expecting to see his little brother, Julious, at his doorstep. "What do you want, brother?" Julious scoffed at this. "Well, aren't you lovely? That's not the way you treat family. Now is it brother?" Now it was Sam's turn to roll his eyes. At that, the two walked into the house to find a bunch of eyes staring back at them. Sam walked up behind them. "What do you want Julious?" "We're just here to tell you that me and my brother here, Charles, will be taking up residence in La Push from now on, so expect to see us around." This statement surprised Sam. He knew that his brother had a deep hatred for him and anything to do with La Push. "Why are you staying here, you could go anywhere else. Aren't you and your family loaded?" Julious started shaking at this. Charles thought that this would be an opportune time to step in to take reign of the conversation before the two brothers phased in the house. "We came here for two reasons. Our sister has a house on these lands and we are staying there. And two we thought it best that we were around our own kind for the time being." Now Sam was confused. "What do you mean your one ki-" Now he got it. "Your wolves?" And with a shake of the head his suspicions were confirmed. "If you're to stay here, then you have to join the pack. I will not have lone wolves gallivanting across

my lands and messing with our patrols." Julious and Charles shared a look. "That is understandable. We agree to your conditions." "As long as we do not have to participate in more than patrols and pack meetings," Julious cut in. Sam was elated at this request. He did not want to spend any more time than necessary with his brother. The two just gave off this vibe of raw power that made the wolf growl at a threat to his dominice and made the man want to pull his mate closer, away from the danger. "This should be fine, but I still have to talk to the Tribal Council about this." Julious scoffed. "This is your pack. Those old fools know nothing about being a wolf, let alone what it means to be pack. But then again, this your pack, run it how you want. Bye, brother. Thanks, I guess." With that the two wolves started to leave the house, but not before Charles paused. He turned around and brown met brown. "Hey Quil. Long time no see." Quil's eyes widened with realization when he recognized who stood before him, but before he could say a word. Charles shushed him, winked, and then was out the door. You could imagine the questions that Quil received soon after, but the one thing that he understood through that whole interaction was that Charles had no intention of the pack knowing his past anytime soon, and he knew that he had to keep it that way. Later that day, the three were walking toward that cottage in the woods in silence. When they arrived at the house, they walked right in. They were met with six pairs of very shocked and confused eyes reacting to who they saw walk through the door. They looked like they had seen a ghost. In their minds they did. They saw a girl who was thought to be dead, or worse, a leech. "BELLA?!" 'Áhályání : brother
