The Start of The Regime
The Orientation Exam started with Senazemon giving a speech to the 92nd generation. Something to do with Tõtsuki's low graduation rate and the prestige blah blah blah. After that Soma calmly waited backstage as Erina gave her valedictorian speech "because she was the best" or something like that after she was done the host introduced Soma with just a little bit of enthusiasm. "And now we will now welcome the only student out of four hundred to pass the transfer exams." This caused some interesting murmuring in the crowd. As Soma walked on stage a white haired female with bright red eyes nudged the bored teen next to her. "Hey Ryo isn't that Soma-kun?." The boy simply nodded but the girl could see a fire burning in his eyes. Somewhere closer to the front a young brown haired boy looked his blonde brother with a little smirk on his face and teased his brother "Hey bro isn't that your beloved rival?" The blonde boy didn't say but just crossed his arms with a less amused look on his face. At the same time in the privileged Elite Ten area a scarlet haired female with feline features and a white haired boy with a crooked tie watched curiosity as the red air approached the stage. 'Finally someone who can spice things up here thought the feline looking girl.' Soma took a mic and tapped it a few times before finally speaking. "Aight you kids listen up. 50% of you people will be gone before we make it to the end of the year and by that time I will have the entirety of Tõtsuki under my thumb and you all will become stepping stones for me to use so that I can eventually run this place as first seat." With that Soma did a perfect one eighty degree turn and walked off the stage leaving a seriously pissed off and stunned audience. Angry remarks such as "who does that kid think he is" and "Imma shokugeki his ass so hard he gets expelled on the first week." Soma completely ignored them and ran into Erina backstage. The heiress looked at Soma with some concern and asked "you know that you just made the entire grade your enemy right?" Soma flashed her a charming smile which made the princess's heart melt. "I'm so glad that my princess is worried about me." Soma whispered into her ear causing the blonde to blush. "But don't worry, you know only a handful of the kids here actually have any sort of skill." Soma took Erina's hand and kissed it gently like a prince courting royalty. "See you later." He said before leaving for his first class.
Soma's first class was French cuisine. He entered the classroom and looked around for someone interesting. His eyes finally settled on a girl with blue hair who was crouched behind the table whilst writing the kanji for man on her hand repeatedly. He approached the girl and lightly tapped her on the shoulder. "Yo I'm Yukihira Soma what's your name?" "I'm Tadokoro Megumi n-nice to meet you S-Soma kun." The girl nervously stuttered. At this moment their teacher Roland Chappelle entered the classroom and the class was filled with nervous whispering. Next to him Megumi cursed softly under her breathe Soma raised a questioning eyebrow and turned towards the girl. "Is he really that bad?" asked Soma. The terrified girl nodded and said that Chappelle sensei was know as the The Chef That Never Smiles. " He only hands out As and Es and I'm only E away from being expelled" cried Megumi. "Don't worry." Soma reassured the girl "I've got this."
Soma looked at the board and saw Chappelle write up the recipe and started to make mental notes. "Megumi just sit back and watch" Soma told her as he ran off to grab the ingredients for the Bouef Bourguignon. Twenty minutes before the time was up Soma noticed that the lid to their was pot was open."Hey Megumi did open the lid?" Megumi shook her head saying that the meat still needed to be braised to make it tender. Soma took the lid off and saw white contents on the beef. Soma frowned and tasted it. "Salt." Soma stated "whaaaaat!?!?!?!?!!!!? salt???????!?!?!?!!" screamed Megumi. We don't have time to remake the dish. "Relax, watch me." Soma said full of confidence. A few minutes later Soma and Megumi presented the completed the dish to Chappelle. "If I remember correctly your group had an accident. How did you make the beef so tender?" questioned Chappelle as he watched his fork practically bounce back from the meat. He saw the answer as the red head held up a bottle in his hand."Honey huh? Quite an interesting choice." Chappelle cut a piece of the meat and took a bite. Chappelle was transported to a unknown land. Here he saw a different a Soma. This Soma had a black suit of armour, fire for hair and his amber eyes glowed. In the kingdom of the Demon Prince Chappelle made a deal with the prince: the recipe for the Bouef Bourguignon in exchange for Chappelle's soul and unwavering loyalty. In the classroom all the students gasped in shock as they saw Chappelle sensei with a large smile that almost split his face in half. A Soma with glowing yellow smiled to himself. This was the beginning of a new regime that would completely change Tõtsuki. A few moments later Chappelle came to his senses and said to the duo before him "This dish deserves an A. However." Megumi tensed. "I regret that I do not have the authority to grant you two a higher mark." Megumi exhaled the breathe she didn't realise she was holding in. After class Megumi asked Soma where he was going. Soma replied that he was heading for the Polar Star Dorms to take be accepted by the Dorm caretaker. Soma arrived at the dorm with Megumi who also happened to live there. Soma knocked on the door of the rundown building and was greeted by the old taker Fumio Daimido. When Fumio opened the door she saw an exact image of Saiba Joicihiro except younger and with shorter hair. 'So you had a child and you sent him here eh? Interesting.' "Are you here for the test?" asked Fumio after receiving a nod from Soma the old lady huffed in response.
One mackerel burger later Fumio was unconscious on the kitchen floor and the kids where partying in the room of a kid called Marui. Soma was greeted by all the other member of the dorm but he looked at one person with extra interest: the seventh seat on the Elite Ten council, Isshiki Satoshi. After a few cups of 'homemade rice juice' only Isshiki and Soma were awake. "How about an unofficial shokugeki Soma kun?" asked the seventh seat Soma eagerly agreed and within minutes the sound of food being cooked woke up Ryoko Sakaki, Shun Ibusaki and Yuki Yoshino. The heavenly smell of pepper mackerel with a purée garnish and mackerel onigiri chazuke. When the seventh seat took a bit of Soma's dish he had sudden vision that this man would one day rule over Tõtsuki. Satisfied with what he saw in the younger man Isshiki left the room and went to sleep Soma and everyone else did same shortly after leaving Marui with a messy room.
