A/N: so um sorry for the very inconsistent updates here is the

chapter of my story and if you have any ideas or anything at all please comment and stuff hopefully the next chapter will come soon and maybe it'll be a bit longer

Challenge

The next morning a slightly hung over Soma woke to the sound of Issiki's voice coming through the ceiling.

"Rise and shine Soma-kun we must enjoy our youth when we still have the time." the Seventh seat told him as Soma looked at his phone for the time. Soma groaned from the headache that the rice juice and protested very adamantly

"It's 3:00am on a Saturday morning give me like 5 more hours of sleep and I'll be with you."

Realising that despite his amazing cooking skills Soma was lazy as hell whenever it came to anything that wasn't cooking Issiki just shook his head, sighed and crawled back through the ceiling. 5 hours later Soma woke up to hear voices coming for behind the dorm. He got dressed and walked outside still only half-awake to find everyone else already and sweating as they labored under the warm morning sun. Before Soma could say anything Yuki crept behind him with a large bucket of cold water and slammed it down on Soma's head. Shivering violently and gasping for air Soma found that all the other dorm members were trying to hold on their laughter. Only Megumi felt bad for Soma and handed him a towel and some breakfast and said

"Here you go Soma-kun dry yourself quickly before you catch a cold"

"That's the punishment for not doing field work Soma-kun try to wake up earlier next time." Yuki said cheerfully.

Soma grumbled something about drinking too much rice juice and partying too late but still took his punishment like man. As the children were finishing up the work Megumi excused herself and said "Sorry everyone but i promised to go and help my RS today." All the other students nodded understandingly and wished her good luck. Soma who has never heard of a RS asked Megumi curiously

"Hey Tadokoro whats a RS?"

"Oh. A RS is the equivalent of a school club with each RS researching different cuisines." Megumi replied glad to finally be of use."Are you interested in joining a RS Soma-kun?" inquired the blunette.

Soma thought about it for a bit before replying "Yeah I might find one that looks interesting. Or else I'm not gonna have anything to do on the weekends."

Hearing this Megumi hands Soma a brochure with information on all of the different RSs. "Here you go Soma-kun it has the buildings where the RS is located as well." Megumi says very kindly. "I hope you find a RS you're interested in. I really have to go now. Bye"

"Thanks a lot Tadokoro!" Soma yelled at the girl as she was already running to the main campus.

Affter a hour or so of internal debate Soma decides to head down over to the don RS. He had been attracted by the creative recipes and the RS's ideology. As Soma entered the don RS building he saw an older male maybe a 2nd year sitting on a couch all depressed looking. Soma approaches the man and asks "whats wrong senpai?"

The senior looks at him with despair written all over his and is clearly on the verge of tears and cries sorrowfully "The lovely don RS has to be shutdown!"

"But why?" Soma asks puzzled."You guys have some amazing recipes!"

The senior just sighed and said "It's because of Nakiri Erina. She wanted more room for her own faction and started to cut our funds by using her Elite Ten powers. Things eventually got so bad that we had to challenge her faction to a shokugeki to get our funds back but when all the members heard that we had to a shokugeki against Nakiri Erina they all ran away."

Right as she finished talking a young blonde girl walked into the room with a bunch of construction workers. When he saw her the senior yelled "Hey Ikumi what are you doing the shokugeki hasn't even been confirmed yet. You don't have any right to be here!"

The girl just laughed and said "Kanichi senpai it doesn't matter what dish you make my high grade expensive will blow your cheap commoner dish out of the water. The results are obvious."

Soma who could no longer stand this girl and what she said about only expensive ingredients being good looked at Kanichi and asked "Hey senpai can I take the shokugeki in your place? If I lose then I quit the school but if I win you have to double the original funds and space for the don RS. Does that sound like a good deal to you Ikumi-san?"

The girl looked Soma up and down and replied with a smirk "very well transfer student you've got yourself a deal. See you soon." Ikumi clicked her fingers and the construction workers obediently left the room after her.

"I really hope u know what you''re doing Yukihira-kun. Ikumi Mito is known for her quality A-5 beef." the senior said.

"Don't worry senpai." Soma anwersed confidently "I've got this."

Kanichi just sighed and became depressed again as if he already knew Soma would lose. Meanwhile Soma had already left the don RS building and was thinking abut what dish to make for the shokugeki.
