1st Day of Hell

Soma woke up from a night of restlessness and got himself ready for the very first day of camp. He groaned as he realised that he had Inui Hinako as his instructor; as much as he liked her she could get really awkward and embarrassing with the way she acted and Soma really wasn't in a good mood and he honestly doubted he could deal with her today without snapping at her not after what Gin told him last night. Not that he would be in a good mood anytime soon judging from the ways things were going. He was going to be very busy very soon if he didn't find a way to deal with that problem.

'Oh well. At least I have that rematch with the Aldinis which should be fun.' Soma thought as he got dressed and had a small breakfast provided by the hotel Soma and the rest of his group met up at the front desk and took a bus to where Hinako was. The small farm was nice looking place and of course the kitchens were state of the art not that he expected anything less from Totsuki of course. The moment Soma walked into the room he was tackled by an object moving at insane speeds.

"Little Soma! I've missed you sooooooo much." Hinako shrieked at the top of her lungs as she hugged Soma in a vice grip almost suffocating the young man causing several of the students so clutch their ears in pain.

"HI Hinako onesan I missed you to." Soma replied as he hugged her back.

The entire group looked on with shock and awe at Soma having such a casual conversation with a Totsuki graduate. Hinako turned to the rest of the students and introduced herself.

"Hello young children of the 92nd generation. I'm Hinako Inui and your instructor for today. The first thing I want you people to do is to split yourselves in to pairs." Hinako watched as the students scrambled to find their partners. When the children finally settled down she began to speak again."My task is very simple. Cook me a Japanese dish with anything that you find here." Hinako said as she gestured around her. You have two hours to cook and you can try as many times as you like. Good luck and have fun."

The students look around the classroom for a bit clearly baffled before a kid put his hand up and asked

"Inui senpai what are we supposed to cook with? There's no ingredients here."

Hinako beamed at the child and before smiling and saying

"Look around you child we are surrounded by a large and beautiful farm with a lake and even mountains what do you mean there are no ingredients?"

After hearing this the less prepared students visibly panicked and began muttering things like

" Oh My God we have to cook a Japanese dish for one of the best chefs in Japanese cusine?"

"We have to get our own ingredients? That's so BS I usually get my ingredients shipped to me. Is this what being poor feels like?"

The only people in the room who remained were of course Soma and the Aldini twins.

"Yo wassup guys." Soma said as he casually strolled up to the twins. This only caused Takumi to even more annoyed at the red haired chef.

"Yukihira. Today is the day I beat and prove that I am the superior chef."

Soma just ignored Takumi knowing it would annoy the blonde even more and greeted Isami with a casual fist bump.

"Hey! Yukihira! Listen to me when I talk to you."

"Huh." Soma said as he turned to Takumi "Did you say something Takumi?"

Takumi just sighed and walked towards Hinako.

"Hinako senpai can you be judge for the competition between me and Yukihira?" Takumi said as he approached the female chef who was sitting on her chair and munching on her crackers.

Hinako nodded furiously whilst smiling widely before saying

"I would love to Takumi I doubt any of the other students in this class could come up with a proper dish and it would be nice to eat good food for change."

Takumi grabbed Isami and started walking towards the door.

"Good luck Yukihira this time I will win and prove to you that I'm the better chef." Takumi says before he walks right in to the door frame. Everyone in the room burst out laughing even his own brother Isami was holding his sides and rolling around on the floor.

" That was so funny onisan." Isami said still rolling around on the floor.

Takumi's face flushed and yelled "Stop laughing Isami." before running out of the room.

Now that the Aldini twins had left only Soma, Megumi and Hinako were in the room.

'Huh. Looks like I'm working with Megumi again. This would be a great chance to build up her self esteem and make her mroe confident. She might actually become a good cook if I can help her fix her stage fright which would make her feel like she owes me so she would be more willing to help me later on. Besides it would be a waste to see all that talent go to waste because of something as simple as stage fright.' Soma mused as he stood there analysing Megumi.

"So Soma kun what are we going to make today?" a nervous and very tense Megumi asked.

"Don't worry Megumi I have everything planned out. I just need you to take a trip in to the mountains for some herbs while I go catch us fish and other ingredients can you do that?"

"Of-f course-e Soma kun I won't let you down." Megumi stuttered.

"Good. Then you better get started now the mountains look pretty far."

"Alright Soma kun I'll be back soon. Good luck with your fishing!" Megumi said cheerfully before she set off for the mountains.

"You know I don't really approve of you manipulating young girls right?" Hinako said suddenly in a cold voice that seemed out of place with her usual cherry demeanour causing Soma to jump three feet into the air.

After getting over his initial shock Soma just looked at the old student and rolled his eyes.
"You know I'm not gonna hurt young girls right?" Soma says "And besides if I really wanted to it's not like anyone in Totsuki could stop me either."

Hinako thought about what the young man said for a bit before nodding her head and replied with

"And you know if I really thought you were gonna harm young Megumi I would just tell Erina right? She could definitely stop you."

Soma's eyes widened comically in horror at these words.

" That's what I thought young man. Now go and make me some food."

The still shocked Soma nodded numbly before leaving the room to find ingredients.

A FEW MOMENTS LATER

As the students began to slowly trickle back to the classroom Hinako looked around and was thoroughly disappointed by what she saw.

'Honestly. You would think with so many kids you would have less people using fish but nooooo. They all had to go for fish just because I said Japanese. What a tragedy' Hinako thought. However as the Aldini twins entered the room she immediately became more happy as she saw the duck in their hands. 'Good to know there are at least some people who can think.'

A few minutes later Soma and Megumi walked in and Hinako didn't know what to think as they pair walked in with some fish.

'You would think that being the heir of Totsuki and the future grandson of Senzaemon Nakiri would mean that you're at least creative with your food but I guess not.' Hinako mused as she stared at the fish in Soma's hands and appeared to be in trance until she caught Soma smirking at her.

"What? You thought I would go the hassle of finding a rabbit or a chicken just for you onesan? Honestly you think too highly of yourself." Soma said as he started gutting and cleaning the fish.

Not willing to be left behind Takumi gave the duck to Isami who just nodded before separating the meat in an almost brutal but avoided damaging any of the innards. Isami then slid the meat across the table in a graceful fashion before Takumi seasoned the duck and threw it into the oven.

"I see your teamwork and skills have improved Aldini but I hope you know that you'll never beat me." Soma said as he watched the twins cook.

"You never know if you don't try Yukihira." Takumi said before taking out his mezzaluna earning surprised gasps from the rest of the class and rapidly turning the vegetables and innards into a paste in perfect sync with Isami who had taken the duck out of the oven and presented to Hinako a beautiful looking Grilled duck with herbs and green sauce.

Hinako smiled fondly at the twins before saying "It's always nice to have your food again Aldinis."

" The pleasure is all ours Hinako senpai." Takumi said as he laid the dish out in front of her.

Hinako hesitated a bit wanting to admire the beauty of the dish more before eating a piece. Without saying anything she waited patiently for Soma to come forward with his dish.

"Enjoy your deep fried river fish." Soma says as he puts the dish down in front of Hinako. Looking at the dish Hinako pouted.

" You didn't even bother to try make the dish look good Soma kun?"

"Of course not." came the reply

Still pouting Hinako took a bite of the fried fish and just like with with the Aldini's dish she was silent after eating.

"Well Hinako senpai did I finally beat Yukihira?" asked a eager Takumi.

Hinkako remained thoughtful for a few more seconds before shaking her head.

"Soma wins again young Aldini you have long way to go it seems."

"Told you so Takumi that makes it your 50th loss against me." Soma said

"Next time I will definit-."

Takumi was cut off by Hinako's phone ringing. Hinako smiled at the number before speaking.

"Hello this is Hinako Inui speaking."

"Oi you ditz where are you. You were meant to be here 10 minutes ago."

"Don't talk to your kouhai like that Shinomiya senapi you're scaring me."

"Does is sound like I care?! Hurry up and get back here." with that Shinomiya hung up and Hinako sent the students back to the hotel.

At the hotel

" Congratulations on making it through the first day students." the voice of Dojima Gin boomed. However before you can go to your rooms and rest you must serve these lovely gentlemen from the bodybuilder club. Each student must server 50 dishes or you will be expelled." and with that the students were overwhelmed.

(so I'm just gonna skip this bit as nothing major happens.)

' Well that was easy.' Soma thought as he walked towards the bath. Suddenly he fell as he ran into someone. He was about to apologise for being in such a compromising position with a girl. Until he saw who it was. His face immediately turned in to a massive grin as he noticed Erina Nakiri on the floor beneath and instead of getting up he simply hugged her closer to him.

" You missed me so much you had to throw yourself at me Erina?" Soma teased.

" You were the one who wasn't paying attention." Erina said but her reddening face wasn't convincing and the fact that she didn't pull away didn't help either. Fortunately Soma decided to have a bit of mercy on the poor girl.

"As much as I want to cuddle you forever Erina I really want to shower so cya." Soma said as he got up and entered the baths.

Immediately he was greeted by the sight of the overly buff Gin doing stretches.

"So anything happen I should know about?" Soma asked as he eased himself into the water.

"He touched in Japan today but hasn't done anything yet."

"Good keep an eye on him."

"Of course sir."

Soma just rolled his eyes at the comment before drying himself and going back to his room to enjoy some sleep.

A/N: OK lads I've finally updated the story took me a while didn't it but this is by far my longest chapter and the chapters should continue to get longer.(hopefully) Also I dont really have a regular update time cause like this story was literally just some of my 3 am thoughts that i decided to expand so i have no clue whats gonna happen or when its gonna happen so if i dont upload for a bit its not me abandoning the story or anything like im just thinking about the different arcs and how i fit my random ideas into the story. And uh thats about it. PLEASE REVIEW
