The Past and Future Meet
I've been trying to figure this story out and I think I have now. I'm doing this story mainly to show that I love both The Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra.
This'll start off after Ruins of the Empire Part 3, and my OCs Hodda and Megumi, identical twin brother of fellow Avatar Korra and identical twin sister of Asami Sato respectively, will have just gotten married.

Late Summer, 174 AG
In Republic City, six people were walking into a warehouse. They were Avatar twins Korra and Hodda, non-bending twin sisters Asami and Megumi Sato, and bending brothers Mako and Bolin. Inside the warehouse, they saw their closest friends. Siblings Bumi, Kya, and Tenzin, Lin, Suyin, and Opal Beifong, Tenzin's wife Pema and their four kids Jinora, Ikki, Meelo, and Rohan, Iknik Varrick and his wife, President Zhu Li Moon.
Hodda and Megumi held hands, smiling at each other. On Megumi's finger was a diamond ring and on the finger of the man she was in love with was a similar wedding ring on his finger. Hodda and Megumi were in love with each other the moment they met.
Hodda was walking through the city when he saw Mako leaving the Republic City Power Plant and ran to him.
"Hey, Mako!" The Avatar Brother called, causing the firebender to look at him.
"What's up, Hodda?" He asked.
"I was wondering if you could teach me firebending some time." The Water Tribe boy said.
"Why not ask your sister?" Mako's tone was one of curiosity.
"She's got enough going on with learning how to Airbend. I don't want to put too much on her plate."
Mako considered this for a minute then nodded. "Okay. I'll come by Air Temple Island later today to teach you." He said as they started to run to a trolley when two women on mopeds came speeding by and nearly ran the two over. The benders ended up on their backs as the women walked to them.
"We're so sorry!" One said.
"We didn't see you two!" The other said.
The two on the ground were about to say something, but the women took their helmets off and words failed the benders.
Hodda immediately blushed at the sight of the of beautiful woman in front of him. Her eyes were a beautiful green and her raven black shoulder-blade length hair was styled in a way that made her seem even more beautiful.
"Uh..." He started then cleared his throat. "It's okay. No harm done." He said then stood up.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
Hodda nodded. "Yeah. I've gotten in worse fights with my twin sister. And she's hurled flaming boulders at me."
The woman looked closer then gasped. "You're...Avatar Hodda! Twin brother to Avatar Korra!"
"That's me." Hodda said, fists on his hips.
"Now I'm embarrassed." She said, her cheeks turning red, but not from her embarrassment, then extended a hand. "I'm Megumi. Your friend is talking to my twin sister, Asami."
Hodda blushed as he shook Megumi's hand then when his blush faded, he introduced himself to Asami and she was as amazed to meet one of the Twin Avatars.
"Let me and my sister somehow make this up to you and Mako, Hodda." Asami said.
"You don't have to." Hodda said.
"Don't try to argue with her. It's pointless." Megumi said. "I speak from experience."
Asami thought it over then looked at the boys. "How about dinner? Tomorrow night, 8:00, Kwong's Cuisine."
"That a fancy place?" Hodda asked.
The twin ladies looked at him surprised. "You don't know Kwong's Cuisine?" Megumi asked.
Hodda chuckled sheepishly. "Korra and I spent thirteen years in a White Lotus compound in the South Pole." He explained.
"It is fancy and classy, but I don't have any nice enough clothes for that place. Do you, Hodda?" Mako asked, only for the Avatar Brother to shake his head.
"All I have are the clothes I have on and my coat from home." Hodda said.
"We'll take care of that. All you boys have to do is show up." Asami said as she had her helmet on and pulled her goggles down.
Megumi did the same, blushing. "...I hope you can make it, Hodda."
Hodda blushed too. "...I'll try to make it there if I can avoid Tenzin." He said.
Hodda did make it the following night to Kwong's and the feelings the Water Tribe boy and Sato girl had only grew from there. When Hodda and Korra became fully realized Avatars, the former and Megumi confessed their love for each and have been together as a couple ever since.
After the Harmonic Convergence, people across the world we're gifted with Airbending, Megumi being one of them and Hodda trained her to use her bending.
Before the plan to take down Earth Empire leader Kuvira's Colossus mech was put into action, Hodda and Hiroshi Sato, Asami and Megumi's father, talked about how Hodda truly loved Megumi and as such, Hiroshi gave Hodda the weddings rings Hiroshi had with the mother of his twin girls. Hodda then proposed to Megumi with her mother's ring and she happily accepted.
After fully taking down the remnants of the Earth Empire three months later, the couple were soon married, Bolin having been the officiant as he was for Varrick and Zhu Li's wedding.
Hadda had since teased Korra on when she'd propose to Asami while still encouraging her to consider it. While she knew he wanted her to be happy, Korra promised herself and her girlfriend that she'd wait a while and surprise Asami with a proposal when the non-bending city girl was expecting it.
Opal noticed Team Avatar arrive and hugged Bolin, who hugged back. Everyone exchanged quick greetings with Team Avatar and vice versa. Naga and Kiara, Korra and Hodda's polar bear dogs, gave their best friends/riders a friendly lick. Pabu, Bolin's Fire Ferret, scurried to Naga and Kiara then the two bigger animals sniffed their smaller friend.
"So what's up, you guys?" Korra asked.
"President Moon's husband has another crackpot idea." Lin said.
"Lin, don't be like that." Suyin said.
"It's supposed to be able to transport several people back in time." Varrick said.
"Wow." Megumi said, actually sounding impressed.
Varrick nodded then looked at Zhu Li. "Help me, honey?"
Zhu Li smiled and nodded then pressed a few buttons and flipped a couple of switches and the machine began to light up. The others were waiting for an explosion that never came.
"It works!" Asami said.
"Nice job, Varrick!" Bolin said.
Varrick grinned.
"How does it work?" Hodda asked.
"All I have to do is punch in a day, a month and a year, then I can send someone to that point in time." Varrick explained. "And if anyone had any large furry friends they wanted to take with them, I built in a place for them to go into."
"You've really thought this through." Mako said.
"Yes, I have, my firebending friend. And I've called all of you here to watch me give it a test run."
"But we will need a few volunteers." Zhu Li said.
"Is it safe?" Tenzin asked.
"Mostly." Varrick assured them.
However, nobody looked eager to volunteer for a little while.
"I'll do it." Megumi said.
"Not alone." Asami and Hodda said.
"If my brother's in, then I am too." Korra agreed.
Bolin looked at Mako. "I'm in if you are, bro." He said.
Mako smirked and nodded then the Twin Avatars led Naga and Kiara to the camber for them while Pabu sat across Bolin's shoulders. Once their mounts were in their chamber, the brother and sister joined their friends in the machine.
"There's room for one more." Varrick said.
With no hesitation, Opal ran to Bolin's side.
The seven sat in the chairs inside then buckled up.
"I'll send you guys back a year-" Varrick started. "Damn it!"
"'Damn it'? What's 'damn it'?" Asami asked.
"Still some minor difficulties!" Varrick said.
"Shut it down!" Lin ordered.
"Kids, get out of there!" Pema said.
Team Avatar and Opal tried to unfasten the belts, but they were stuck.
"We can't!" The seven volunteers said.
Without hesitating, Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo ran in to help their friends, but the door closed behind the children, as did the door to the chamber Naga and Kiara were in as a bright light filled both chambers of the machine.
"Varrick, pull the plug!" Zhu Li said and Varrick did just that, but when the doors opened, Team Avatar, Opal, Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo were gone.
"...What year did they end up in?" Kya asked.
"And can we help them?" Bumi asked.
Varrick looked at the destination. "...A little while after the Hundred Year War." He said.
Lin, Suyin, Bumi, Kya, and Tenzin looked at each other worried.
"...I'll tell Tonraq, Senna, and Mako and Bolin's grandmother." Varrick said. "This mess is on me, but I will bring them home somehow."
Late Summer, 100 AG
Relaxing by a beach one evening were six teenagers. One was a young monk with an arrow tattooed on his head, another was a girl with a braid and hair loopies, a third was a guy with a ponytail, a fourth was a young girl with her hair in a big bun, a fifth was another girl with hair just below her chin, and the sixth was a guy with a very recognizable scar on the left side of his face. They were Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki, and Zuko, the previous Team Avatar.
"Aang, take it easy." Katara said as Aang was splashing and swimming around.
"Come on, Sugar Queen, lighten up." Toph said with a grin. "We're here on Ember Island to enjoy ourselves. I'd say we've earned a chance to relax after being heroes."
Aang soon swam to the beach and laughed. "It's okay, Toph." He said then stood up, only to get dizzy.
"Aang, what's wrong?" Suki asked.
"I...I don't know. I feel a little dizzy." Aang said as Sokka and Zuko helped him sit.
Zuko soon looked in front of him and saw a light then started getting brighter. "What is that?" He asked and everyone, minus Toph, saw the light getting brighter.
"What is it?" Toph asked.
"Some sort of light." Sokka said. When the light was at its brightest, Aang, Katara, Sokka, Suki, and Zuko shielded their eyes until the light vanished. When they looked at where the light was, they were surprised to see ten total people out cold and piled on top of each other.
"Whoa! Why do I feel more people here where we are on the beach?" Toph asked.
"Because there's ten people here, along with a Fire Ferret and two polar bear dogs." Katara said.
"Let's get them inside." Aang said then he and his friends set to it.
