\Unknown Entry 3\

To Battle, the Introduction of War.

The locusts buzzed in the searing heat. Sounds of footsteps through muddy dirt made their way through the marshlands. Ahead was a large range of hills dividing two local tribes. Breathing in a long heavy breath, the shadow analyzed the area. He felt this aura lingering in these areas before, where armies of humans clashed. It was unlike primitive animals, predator and prey. No, war was was an evolved concept created alongside human evolution. Every bloodshed it had witnessed, the shadow, not once, was able to keep its gaze on the battlefield for the whole fight. Sometimes, it turned its whole back towards the depravity for the whole ordeal, but an opposing force always pulled towards the clashing of swords, a part of him beckoning to turn around, as if interested in the war.

Night began to set in, and the occupying soldiers set up camp unbeknownst of the battle to come.

No matter how much it tried diverting its attention, thoughts of the next day flooded its conscience. The buzzing of insects shifted to the stomping of shoulders, rustling grass from animals turned into whistling of arrows. The tribe beside the mountain was silent with the subtle rusting of leaf beds, half-awake villagers, guards, and animals in their pens. On the opposite side, far beyond the horizon would be another tribe, preparing for the rising sun.

The infantry made their way down the hills, as the archers set up formation at the top. The opposing tribe scrambled as the tired soldiers called for each other and formed to counter. Priests from each side stood away from the battle, beside the leader, to give their prayers the gods who would aid them. Turning your back again? The shadow was startled harshly. It looked in every direction for that voice. From the hills, the volley of arrows rained down, and the stomping of the infantry charged towards the tribe, startling the entity further hiding its sight from the battle. The entity did not turn around to look at the soldiers. They were fearless and merciless, yelling warcries for every swing and their blades. Why are you afraid? Afraid? Afraid of War? It was gruesome, terrible, unnatural. Human evolution would eventually lead to this. A part of you knew that. I knew that. What was this inner voice speaking to it? Watch...they have evolved into this, and it only keeps going.

The shamen raised the scepter in the air, waving it in circles while chanting. Then, he thrusted it towards the village as a rain of fire was cast upon the homes. That caught the entity's attention. Turning around he saw the opposing shamen wave her staff before spraying water out to cease the fire's spread. It mesmerized the entity, humanity, and their abnormalities. Maybe it is time I see for myself, instead of from you. A force pulled away from the entity, as it split into two fragments. The original fragment looked at this new being.

"W-Wh-What...are you?" The original entity stared at this new replica. It was the same amorphous mass like itself, but a black aura revealed the silhouette of an unholy, monstrous humanoid. On its left shoulder was a towering prong the added to its menacing presence. "I am a being fascinated by War. What are you here for?" The silhouette turned around before disappearing leaving behind the black mass that it currently was. What was it here for? The other entity was here, attracted by the battle. It came here...attracted by Death. "I am here because of Death."

"Hm, that is certainly fascinating. With War comes Death, it appears. Siblings do stick together, right?" It simply stood, watching the bloodshed. Slightly shaking, the entity turned around and watched the battle alongside its brother."I think they should use the marshlands to their advantage, do you?"

"...yes. It seems that would change the tide of war."
