A/N: Errors ahead. I saw your reviews about an epilogue or a continuation of this fic and it made me guilty as I realized- you really deserve a good story with a proper ending. I personally liked open endings- the thought of leaving a story to the reader's imagination whether or not to give that story a happily ever after ending is quite nice and enjoyable on my part because I always thought of giving you a part of the story- make it your own if you'd want to but there is also this part of me wherein I hate myself for doing that because- how could someone move on from a story especially as heavy as this story without a proper ending. You're going to ask yourselves- 'Did he remember her?', 'Did she gave up on him?' and that is pretty annoying so I' am sorry but I' am not going to promise that I will give you a nice ending since I can be pretty idiotic when it comes to ending a story. I' am only good at starting a story but ending it- not really.
This will be a 3 part story. I felt like this kind of story deserved a longer chapter.
So, without further ado, lets get into it.
…
A loud knock on the door woke Shiho up. Looking at her phone, she grimaced as she saw that it was only 5 in the morning. She slept late last night- thinking about all these things they've been going through and to be woken up by a loud pounding on the door at a freaking 5 in the morning annoyed her.
She forcefully opened the door and was about to snap at the intruder when she came face to face with Kudo Shinichi. He's smiling from ear to ear so she soften her facial expression and smiled back at him.
"What brings you here?" she asked softly. His smile grew even wider if that's even possible making her heart melt. She misses his smile, his touch, his voice. She miss him. It's like he's here but not really and it pained her.
"You wouldn't believe it" he happily announced. Shiho's eyes widened in shock as the thought of him, remembering her and everything about them flashed before her.
"We are going on a date" she heard him say. Shiho swallowed the lump on her throat and her heart beats crazily. At last, he remembered her and for her- it was everything. She couldn't asked for more. She moved closer to him and before she pulled him into a tight hug, his voice echoed throughout the room again.
"Ran said yes this morning. We are going on a date. Do you know how I dress or how I act during dates?"
Shiho stood there, unmoving. She felt like someone just stepped on her already shattered heart. It was painful that all she can managed to say is a simple 'ok'.
Shinichi felt it though- his partner's demeanor changed.
Getting her composure back, she distanced herself to him- eyes focused on her tiled bedroom floor. She doesn't want to face him because if she did- he will see her eyes. Tears fell from her cerulean eyes.
"Just act like yourself Kudo- kun" she managed to say before gently closing her bedroom door.
Outside her room, Shinichi stood there aware of his partner's tears. He saw it- despite how she tried to cover it. He saw it and for an unknown reason- it pained him. For an unknown reason, tears also fell from his cobalt blue eyes.
…
Shinichi smiled, a bit forced as Ran joined him in front of the newly renovated Tropical Land. It was different from the Tropical Land he remembered.
"Shinichi!" Ran shouted happily, blushing madly as she relocated herself in front of him. She waited for his compliments on the way she dressed (she changed her style. She wore a red dress this time) but none came instead he looked so distant.
"Are you ok?" She asked him.
He nodded his head as a response. Seeing Ran's worried look, he faked a smile and pulled Ran towards the place he last remembered.
Seeing his partner cry this morning made him like this and it made him wonder why.
…
Shiho saw Shinichi walked out of Hakase's house dress in a plain white shirt, denim jeans, white Chuck Taylor All star low top shoes and a blue jacket. She knew where he's going. He's going on a date with Ran.
Shiho wanted to hurt Ran physically yesterday when she told her about Shinichi's confession. It was wrong of her to say she still loves him knowing that the guy is engaged with someone else but she couldn't blame her. Shiho knew Ran's feelings towards Shinichi is still there. She knew that Ran is still trying her best to move on but it wasn't a nice excuse for her to be close to Shinichi this time. Shiho wanted to hurt her but she couldn't because she knew she had hurt Ran before and what she felt is nothing compared to Ran's pain when Shinichi shrunk from a drug she made.
Hakase saw her gazing at the leaving detective and he couldn't help but feel sorry for her. He wanted to tell Shinichi yesterday but he doesn't have a say to this. Hakase knew that well enough.
"Tell him" he said as soon as he relocated himself next to her in front of the living room window. "He deserves to know. Don't wait until the day of your wedding Shiho- kun. We don't know when or where will he remember the memories so why don't you help him. Tell him. What Ran- kun's doing is wrong, step up Shiho- kun"
Shiho looked at her father figure this time and smiled sadly. This problem they caught themselves in is emotionally draining her but she doesn't have the courage to tell him because she's afraid that he wont believe her. He looked happy with Ran for the past few weeks- maybe this is what he wants. What he truly deserves.
"I don't know Hakase. I cant blame Ran for doing it. I have hurt her before"
"I' am begging you Shiho- chan. Not Shinichi. Please" Ran pleaded, crying. It's been a week since Shinichi asked her out and still Ran came almost everyday just to begged for her to break up with him.
"Please. I don't deserve this. I waited for him for years. Don't do this. Give him back to me"
Shiho smiled sadly at her. She's guilty but at the same time she couldn't just break up with him. She loves him and she knew he loves her too.
"I' am sorry Ran- san. I cant. We're both going to hurt him if I did"
…
His date with Ran felt exhausting and forced. He didn't know why though- at first he was looking forward to it but as they walked around Tropical Land and tried every rides they could- he just kept thinking of going back home.
She clings at him every damn time and it annoyed him. Making up his mind, he turned towards her and smiled. "We need to go back Ran. It's 4 pm already. I' am exhausted" he told her and with that Ran smiled and agreed to him.
"I love you Shinichi" he heard her say but he didn't say anything. He couldn't and it made him wonder- he just told her he likes her yesterday but after the talked he had with Hakase, he felt like saying he loves her too is too much. It's as if his heart kept on stopping him and it made him wonder why.
…
Shinichi entered Hakase's house and greeted with complete silence. Knowing his housemates, he went towards their respective workplace in the basement but he only saw Hakase in his.
"Where is Miyano- san? The rain started a few minutes ago. Did she have an umbrella with her?" he asked the old professor which grimaced in return as he heard him refer to her as 'Miyano- san'.
The formality of it made Hakase annoyed and hurt for the both of them at the same time. "She doesn't have one and she told me something about going to that place. I don't know where was it but she prob-" Hakase trailed off as his companion rushed towards the exit, leaving him alone.
He ran towards him hurriedly- trying to catch him up.
"Shinichi! You don't know where-" He tried to stop him but failed.
After a while, Hakase smiled as he remembered Shinichi's worried look- an umbrella with him.
"Shinichi…"
…
Shiho smiled sadly as she sat in the swing at Teitan Elementary School playground. She loves coming here because this school held a special place in her heart. She met him here and he proposed to her here as well.
The rain that started a few minutes ago started to soak her from head to toe but she didn't mind- her thoughts wandered around the time she saw her watching a love story. Now that she thinks about it- his words seems to be opposite to what's happening right now and it made her chuckle.
"What are you watching Shin? Are you crying?" She asked him one time, eyebrows raised in a funny manner. It wasn't usual for him to use her laptop and watched on his bedroom with popcorn and soda scattered everywhere.
He smiled sheepishly at her, wiping his tears away as he paused the video to completely face her. "I borrowed your laptop and saw this movie- The Vow. They got in an accident and she forgot about her husband. To be honest, it was so painful to watched. He was patient- waiting for her to remember him. Now, what if I forgot about you? Will you wait for me too?"
His questions caught her off guard. "I will prob-"
His laughter rudely cut her off earning a glare from her. He stood up and positioned himself in front of her, eyes looking at her with love. "I wont forget about you. So, you don't need to answer it and you don't need to worry about it because I knew, it will never happen."
"It happened you idiot" she muttered under her breath as tears ran down her cheeks. She closed her eyes to stop the tears, letting the rain washed away her pain.
Minutes passed, the rain seems to stop so she opened her eyes. Upon realizing that it seems to stop only on where she was, she looked up and was shock to see an umbrella shielding her. Turning her head around, she saw Kudo Shinichi behind her- holding the umbrella, his breathing heavily as if he ran a couple of miles.
"What are you doing here?" she softly asked.
"I don't know. I just knew that this is 'that place'. I don't know. I- You're not telling me everything, are you?" he asked her a question of his own, eyes looking at her intently.
"You're not just a friend to me. Who are you then?"
Shiho looked away, unable to meet his eyes. Silence followed the only sound they can hear is the pouring rain against his umbrella.
"My mind kept on telling me it's Ran but my heart-" he trailed off, taking a deep breath.
"Shiho, I- "
He stopped mid- sentence, unsure whether or not to continue.

A/N: They are OOC, forgive me but love can make you into a mess. Is it not? Thoughts?
