This is my first The Dragon Prince story. It's an alternate storyline the summary is instead of assassinating Ezran the elves kidnap him and offer him to Zubeia blood, cussing, near-death experiences, violence and so on please enjoy and leave a review.

Chapter 2 An argument, an assassination and a kidnapping.

A songbird tweeted loudly in the sky making Ezran suddenly awaken "Callum" he called out as he looked into Callum's room seeing nothing but paper strewn everywhere and his bed empty as he realised Callum was in Claudias room healing after last nights fight in the town as he clutched his wrist.

Bait croaked changing from yellow to purple making Ezran sigh knowing that he was worried as well "I know Bait I'm worried about him too come let's go and get breakfast" Ezran said with a tone of misery as they exited the room.

Claudia's chambers.

Claudia lay next to Callum embracing in her arms as she sighed in relief as Callum slept with her as she flicked her eyes open as Callum moaned in his sleep as his eyes slowly opened to find black hair in his face as felt someone's arms wrapped around his torso before turning his head around looking up at the ceiling realising he was inside castle before turning his head back into the pillow he heard a familiar female voice as he suddenly realised who was with him.

Callum screamed as he realised who was sleeping with him waking her up as he fell out of Claudia's bed he stood up gasping as she pulled the covers of her bed over her chest "Well good morning to you Callum are you feeling better?" Claudia asked as Callum stood there in a panicked state "Claudia why was I sleeping with your in your bed?" Callum said as he felt rather drafty before looking down at his feet as his eyes grew wide and his face rather red as Claudia giggled at the sight.

"CLAUDIA WHAT THE FUCK HAPPEN DID WE OR DID YOU?" Callum asked as he covered himself with his shirt that was on the floor as Claudia laughed hysterically watching Callum panic and pick up his semi wet clothes before running behind Claudia's changing slider trying to put his clothes on as Claudia laughed.

"Callum… relax… please" Claudia said between breathes as she wrapped a blanket around her as she approached Callum staying in the other side of the changing rack "Relax, Relax I woke up naked in your fucking bed after my night out and you want me to relax?" Callum replied in anger as he realised his clothes were still wet groaning in defeat.

Claudia sighed as she went beside her bed picking up a bag full of dry clothes and bringing the bag to Callum still giggling as she put the bag just behind the slider making Callum yelp in surprise "Claudia what?" Callum asked as she left the bag where it sat as she walked away locking the door making Callum gulp with fear "If your done panicking Callum you can put your dry clothes on that are in the bag and don't peak at me please" Claudia said as she dropped the blanket and started to get dressed.

Callum hastily grabbed the bag that had dry clothes as he began to put his on he still wondered why he was in Claudias room and not his as he took a deep breath as he put his undergarments on then his pants "You feel better now?" Claudia asked as Callum calmed down "Claudia give me an honest answer did we or did you?" Callum asked feeling nervous "What? No, no, no, no, no, no, we didn't all I did was take your wet clothes off and I hopped into bed with you" Claudia replied trying not to laugh hiding her blush as she finished getting dressed.

Callum felt a bit of relief as Claudia explained what she did before realising something else "And you were naked because?" Callum asked with worry as he put his shirt on feeling better with dry clothes on "Because silly skin on skin contact is the best way to restore warmth into the body" Claudia said sighing as she put her shoes on as Callum walked out from the slider eyeing Claudia as she placing his shoes onto the bed while she puts her on.

Callum approached Claudia's bed hesitantly as picked his shoes that had dry socks in them as he put them on he looked at Claudia who gave him a smirk as she walked over to the window sill picked up her flask of hot brown morning potion and poured her and Callum a cup as he put his shoes before standing as Claudia offered him the cup which was steaming slightly.

Callum eyed Claudia who took a sip of hers "Well drink it you'll like it" Claudia said as Callum took a quick sip his eyes lit up as he swallowed the hot beverage feeling his heart race as he downed the rest instantly giving Claudia back the cup "Thank you" Callum said as a sudden knock on the door nearly made him jump out of shin.

Claudia unlocked the door opening it up to see a tired baggy eyed Soren stand in the doorway "The king requests your presence Callum" Soren said as he turned to walk to his room merely just opening the door before suddenly groaning as the sound of him flopping down onto his bed echoed out through the hallway.

Claudia sighed as she walked to Soren room before turning to eye Callum "Well go see the king" Claudia said as walked in, Callum gulped when it all sank in as he walked down the stairs and across the courtyard towards the main part of the castle as all the guards eyed him watching Callum walk towards the throne room.

Throne room.

King Harrow, Prince Ezran, Advisor Viren and council members Opeili and Saleer waited in the throne room with guards opened the doors opened and Callum walked in bowing before King Harrow "My king" Callum said rising making Harrow show a big of pain in his face as Callum entered the throne room see Ezran out of the corner of his eye as he clutched his wrist and Bait at the same time as he felt Callum's anger.

Outside Katolis.

The elves gathered around in a circle as Runaan brought out a white ribbon as he began to tie their wrists and arms one but one "Life is precious, Life is valuable, We take it, but we do not take it lightly." He said as then sliced the ribbons binding themselves to slay King Harrow as they glowed briefly "When it is done I will send a shadowhawk with a blood ridden message to the queen of the dragons we strike when the moon is highest" Runaan said has he placed the arrow in his quiver.

As the elves left to go towards Rayla eyed the bounds around her wrists wondering will Prince Ezran come peacefully once they killed the king before taking a deep breath as she ran off into the trees jumping through the branches before getting to her position near the river they waited for nightfall hopefully everything would go as planned.

Inside the castle.

Callum stormed through the hallways of the castle back to his room as Ezran followed behind trying to block his thoughts from Callum as he was angry at him for giving him up as suddenly stopped walking "You know you can't sneak up behind Ezran for fucks sake" Callum said without turning around making Ezran stop in his tracks as he held onto Bait as he continued to walk into his side of the bedroom.

"Callum… I...didn't" Ezran said making Callum turn round just as he dropped his bag before opening the door to Ezran's room before turning to face Ezran "You didn't what?" Callum asked as he suddenly grabbed Ezran by his shirt bring him mere inches from his face making Ezran's eyes fill with water "I DIDN'T WANT TO LOSE YOU LIKE HOW WE LOST MOM!" Ezran yelled at the top of his voice as Callum suddenly shoved him back into the hallway before suddenly slamming his door shut as his own eyes began to fill with water as he kicked his bag and through his art stuff all over the place letting out a scream of anguish.

Ezran heard Callum scream in his bedroom before walking away rubbing the tears in his eyes as he tried to keep Callum close to him as they both lost their mother ten years ago as he walked down the hallway with his stash of jelly tarts in his bag as he left Callum alone in his room still hearing stuff being thrown about.

Throne room

Harrow pinched the bridge of his nose as Callum and Ezran left the room sighing in disappointment as the argument was hurtful as everyone left the throne room as Viren approached his side "My King I understand what it's like to have a child to defy you all the time and..." Viren said trying to comfort king "No Viren it's not that, it's just that Callum still blames me for Sarai's death even though I avenged her was it still the right thing to do?, even destroying the egg as well?" Harrow asked looking towards Viren as he clasped his shoulder firmly "Yes my king it was" Viren replied.

Elsewhere in the castle.

Ezran walked through the castle upset as he could feel Callum's thoughts and emotions through the magic binding around his wrist as it went grey along with Bait who was also grey from depression as they continued to walk around the castle as the entered one of many studies as they pulled the painting off the wall to reveal a hidden dungeon passage 'Come Bait lets see if we can work out that combination" Ezran said in a somewhat cheerful voice making Bait croak excitingly as the pulled the painting shut hiding in utter darkness before Bait glowed a bit more lighting the way.

Callum's room.

As Callum sat on his bed crying in utter anger as he looked at his wrist watching it change from grey to orange realising that had made himself somewhat happy making callum sigh in frustration as he trying to pull out all his hair before looking around at the mess he created as he got down on his hands and knees and tied up his room putting all his art stuff back on the easel and desk he found a picture of his mother that he drew recently bringing tears to his and a little bit of happiness closing his eyes as he realised that Ezran only told on him because he didn't want to lose anymore family members, sighing as he sat down he once he finished tidying up his room deciding to draw before closing his eyes once again he thinking about what to draw as thought about the girl he saw last night as he began to draw her.

Sunset.

As Callum opened his eyes he fell off his seat as he saw what he drew which wasn't just any girl as he quickly stood up ripping the parchment off his easel as he ran out of his room towards the library holding his artwork ducking past guards in the process.

As Callum reached the library he grabbed various scrolls, totems, and books tossing them all over the floor in an attempt to find what sort of person he saw because he knew it wasn't human as he searched for what she was.

In the castle chambers.

After a few hours of trying Ezran sighed in defeat as he tried one last stones one last try closing his eyes he went "rock, rock, stone, rock, stone, stone, rock, stone, rock, rock" Ezran muttered to himself before jumping in surprise as the stone floor turned into a downwards spiral staircase as he looked down curious at what done there he slowly walked down with Bait in his hands as they reached the bottom of the stairs he looked around seeing all the vials, bottles and books everywhere he gulped at where he was as a sudden bark in the air made him jump with a yell turning around towards the noise that was cloaked in the shadows.

"Hello is someone there?" Ezran asked as he can talk to animals only to here whimpering and chains rattling beneath a cloak as he approached the cloaked up cage removing the cloak he gasped in surprise as he saw what was chained up in his cage cowering in fear as Ezran approached "A dragon… here in the castle" Ezran said out loud as the dragonling began to tremble in fear as the young human just stood there in surprise.

Castle library before the full moon.

Callum had almost given up when suddenly Claudia walked in to see Callum on the floor going through books "Callum what are you doing up this late in the library?" She asked as Callum suddenly jumped "Claudia" Callum said with surprise as Soren and Viren walked in closely behind "Reading books are we Callum?" Claudia asked as she approached seeing all the books and scrolls scattered around where he was standing.

"I was looking for something" Callum said as he sat back down looking for his drawing of the girl he saw last night during the storm "And what was that Callum?" Harrow asked as he kneel down beside Callum to pick up the books and scrolls that were scattered all over the floor as Callum grabbed his drawing of the ground showing her "This creature here I think it's an elf that I saw last night" Callum said showing Claudia as Viren and Claudia approached with curiosity as they both gasped at what Callum drew.

Viren looked up at a nearby seeing a full moon appear "Oh shit" Viren cursed as his face changed color "What is it lord Viren?" Callum asked as Soren reached for his sword as Claudia looked around with her primal stone in her hand "Go find Ezran and keep him safe" Soren said as he stood in front of Callum "Uh why?" Callum asked with worry as Claudia suddenly grabbed his arm "GO NOW!" Viren yelled as Claudia dragged Callum out of the library.

"What is it, Claudia what's wrong?" Callum asked as his heart began to beat faster "Moonshadow elves Callum that's what is wrong" Claudia said in a hushed tone as Callum's face went white with shock "And there here to kill Harrow, Ezran and I" Callum said as he suddenly took off to find Ezran "Callum where are you going?" Claudia asked as she chased after him before tripping on the floor watching Callum run away "Callum!" she yelled out as she quickly got up.

Full moon outside the castle

Runaan, Ram and Callisto walked on the rooftops of the castle looking at all the guards as patrol the gardens as they reached King Harrows room as the quietly landed on the balcony gently prying the door to his chamber's as they heard his snoring as they snuck into his room approaching his bed when suddenly his bedroom doors were slammed open "King Harrow we have…" The guard yelled as he noticed the elves suddenly in the room "ASSASSINS" the guard yelled as he withdrew his sword charging the elven assassins waking the king up.

Castle hallway

Rayla, Andromeda and Skor snuck around the hallways as they looked for Prince Ezran preparing to take him alive as the avoided another guard patrol before they heard the sounds of someone running as they hid behind pillars thinking it was just a servant that they could question as they peaked their heads out they saw a young human with a book lean against a pillar catching his breath as they slowly walked forward he suddenly turned around.

"You… know… that...you… can't…" Callum said a he looked at down the hallway seeing nothing but armor statutes, pillars and air which made him freeze as he look around seeing nothing but more castle declarations as he pinched the bridge of his groaning in frustration as he looked at his wrist seeing the color was purple as he focused on Ezran's whereabouts he suddenly heard the sound of a metal blade unsheathing as he looked where the sound came from before eyeing the wall he saw the silhouette of person with blades in its hands as he then realized one unique thing about moonshadow elves is that under the night of a full moon they can turn almost invisible which made him run in the opposite direction fast.

The elves watched the prince runaway fast wondering how he spotted them they gave chase running through the halls jumping off the walls when they turned corners as they tried to catch the prince before he could signal help as they chased up the stairs onto a set of battlements running across "ELVES HAVE ENTERED THE CASTLE GROUNDS" he yelled as he ran towards the tower alerting the whole castle as he ran for the tower opening the door before slamming it shut.

Callum grabbed a nearby sword from an armor suit from the wall as he slid it between the hand grips barring the door shut in an attempt to slow them down before running up the stairs as he focused on Ezran's whereabouts again as ran up the stairs he realized he was close before a door opened in front of him nearly knocking him out.

As Ezran opened the door as he felt someone run into it he screamed in surprise falling onto the floor dropping Bait as a familiar groan came from the other side he felt some relief as Callum came around from the other side clutching his nose before looking down at Ezran as a happy looked appeared on his face "Ezran finally I found you" Callum said as leaned down grabbing his arm eagerly "Uh Callum what's going on?" Ezran asked as Bait walked back into the study "We have El…" Callum said as the sound of a window being smashed near them interrupted Callum from speaking as a moonshadow elf stood in front of them as two more appeared from behind them cornering them as they pointed their blades at Callum and Ezran.

"Alright no more games human" Rayla said as they began to approach the princes making them back up into the study as Ezran cowered behind Callum in fear "Now listen closely humans" Skor said as he and Andromeda brought ropes out from their bags "Here is what is going to happen we are going to take you" Andromeda said pointing her curved blade at Callum "Prince Ezran as you are being requested by Zubeia" she continued while Rayla looked at the younger human that cowered behind him "And if you come quietly we won't have to make a mess" Rayla said as he put her blades away.

Callum lost color in his face as the elves prepared to take Ezran but as he looked down at his cowering half brother he didn't need to look at his wrist to see his eyes full of fear before feeling his memories when he saw the painting on the wall reeling Ezran has been he grabbed the side of his with one hand as he raised his other hand up making the elves ready themselves for conflict "Just one moment please let me hide my brother from you lot please he's only a kid?" Callum asked in a pleading tone.

Rayla looked at them before asking 'And where are you planning on hiding him?' She replied by putting her hands on her weapons as Callum simply pulled to the side of the painting on the wall and opened up revealing a hidden passageway as Bait leaped up into Ezran's arms looking at Callum feeling his emotions through the wrist binding "Ah Callum what are you doing?" Ezran asked, making the whole room go silent as all eyes turned to Ezran "RUN!" Callum yelled as he charged Skor, knocking him against the wall grabbing his blade arm as Bait suddenly glowed brightly enough to blind the assassins as Ezran pulled the painting closed and ran away down the dungeon corridor with Bait lighting the way.

The elves had collapsed covering their eyes as their swords had clattered loudly on the floor as Callum wrestled with Skor disarming him before pushing him into Andromeda he grabbed both his sword and her curved blade he then charged at Rayla swinging the blades wildly as she regained her vision she picked hers up before doing a backflip dodging Callum's lackluster attack as her blades connected with Skor and Andromeda weapons that Callum acquired pushing back against the wall with ease.

Callum had the elf pinned against the wall and gave her a headbut in attempt to knock her out which went rather poorly as Skor and Andromeda slowly stood up looking at the fight between them "I've got this go" Rayla said as both Skor and Andromeda chased after Prince Ezran while Callum and Rayla fought in the hallway "It was you I saw last night wasn't" Callum asked as Rayla gave him a heel kick to his diaphragm winding Callum as he ducked from Rayla's next attack as he rolled on the floor he turned to face the elf as she did a roundhouse slice with her blade connecting to Callums Skor's blade as Callum did a uppercut slice with Andromeda's blade missing Rayla's head by a hair.

Rayla did a backflip kicking trying to kicking Skor's sword out of Callum's hand making him gasp before charging into Rayla with his shoulder winding her suddenly knocking her to the ground disarming her as she fell wrapping his arms around her shoulders and upper body he picked her up before slamming her back into the ground doing in two more times making her groan in pain before raising the blades to he struck her to the side of her head with the hilt of Andromeda's sword knocking her out.

Callum stood up panting hard a sudden a sudden scream yelled behind him as he turned around to see Ezran being carried by Andromeda as he carelessly charged the elves to save Ezran an arrow struck Callum in his left shoulder stopping Callum in his tracks as Skor charged at him stabbing Callum in his chest the blade slicing through his ribs somehow missing his heart and left lung he screamed in pain as he grabbed Skor arm with his wounded left arm and wrapped his good arm around the back of Skor's neck holding him in place he looked into the elfs glowing eyes "Fuck… you" Callum said before biting into the side of Skor's neck making him groan in pain.

As Skor screamed Runaan saw humans appear from the other end of the hallway making him, and Callisto who was carrying Ram on his shoulders ran towards the battlements as Andromeda carried a bound Ezran followed not too far behind who was screaming as the guards approached.

As the elf withdrew her sword leaving a trail of blood she leaned down towards Callum picking up her other sword resting against his shoulder "My name is Rayla and I'm sorry for having to do this" Rayla said standing up hearing footsteps approaching before grabbing a nearby sword off the wall running back into Viren's study closing the door behind her she slid the sword into the hand grips baringi the door shut before pulling the painting door open she ran into the corridor after Prince Ezran.

Callum laid on the ground feeling the elves body beginning to go limp in his grasp hissing in pain as blood began to enter his mouth making him gag before the guards pulled the elf off Callum who went limp in their arms as blood pour out of his neck "Damn… you...humans… we… still... succeeded…" the elf said before going silent and limp in their arms as Soren, Claudia and Viren ran in gasping at the sight of two wounded moonshadow elves and Callum laying there with his blood pooling around his body.

Claudia rushed over to Callum spilling the contents of her bag out as Soren kneeled by holding the sword in Callum's chest watching him painfully breathe before yanking the sword of his chest blood dripping out as Callum groaned before fainting "CALLUM NO!" Claudia yelled as Soren applied pressure on his chest as Viren approached "Soren break of the arrow in his shoulder" Viren ordered as his staff expanded as his staff began to conduct a pale blue lightning ability as Soren broke off the arrow and yanking the head out the from of his shoulder in haste as Viren lightning struck Callum making him scream.

In the forest surround Katolis.

Runaan, Andromeda and Callisto stopped to catch their breath as they gagged Ezran and treated Ram as their bindings around their wrists went red and dropping to the ground gasping in some relief as Runaan grabbed his off the ground and grabbed the shadowhawk arrow from his quiver and he tied the ribbon to the arrow standing up notching the arrow in his bow aiming at the moon "Regina draconis" Runaan before launching the arrow into the sky watching form into a hawk flying to Xadia.

As the elves watched the arrow the all took gave a sigh of relief as Runaan grabbed Ezran by the scruff of his shirt "Don't worry you'll soon see your father in the future" Runaan said as he put Ezran on his shoulders as Callisto and Andromeda grabbed Ram and carried him on their shoulders as he grimaced in pain as Runaan took one last look at the castle praying to the moons and Garlath that Rayla and Skor found piece in the afterlife seeing his adopted daughter lying in the ground.
