Opening Act
Inside the cafeteria
POV Lila's
We're all inside the cafeteria, we've mostly finished our meals. Mary is sitting next to me and William is sitting next to her. Jeremy is sitting on the right side of Odd. Odd and Sissi are sitting together. Aelita is sitting next to Sissi. We're all reading Kadic's newspaper.
I might not be a "fan-girl," but it would be very cool to meet Chris. I used to listen to the Subdigitals a lot when I used to exercise. I wonder what happened to my old mp3 player? Should be in my closet somewhere, I think. Yumi meets with us at the table and notices we're all reading the Kadic news.
"Hi everybody," Yumi greets.
"Hi Yumi," Jeremy says, looking up at her for a moment before he resumes reading. Yumi takes a seat next to Ulrich.
"What's happening, Yumi?" Ulrich asks.
"You mean to tell me there's actually a little news in the Kadic news this time?" Yumi asks. Odd pulls down his Kadic news.
"Don't tell me you haven't heard!" He exclaims.
"Here take mine," William offers. He passes it to Ulrich who passes it to Yumi. She takes it and starts reading.
"Scoop of the year, blah, blah," she skims through. "Chris coming to Kadic. Blah, blah, too amazing," she then puts the magazine down.
"Chris? Chris who?" Yumi asks.
"Oh, come on Yumi," I say. "Even I know who Chris is."
"Yeah, you're kidding? Haven't you heard of the Subdigitals?" Ulrich asks.
"Chris is their drummer, and he'll be at Kadic today," Odd explains.
Yumi puts her hand up. "Hey you guys, cool it. It sounds like a phony scoop," she accuses.
"Yeah, sure does. Just another one of Milly and Tamiya's dumb stories," Jeremy surmises.
"Well, it could be for real. It seems that Chris is coming here to visit his uncle," Aelita says.
"Huh? You mean that Chris has an uncle who works here?" Yumi asks.
"I wonder who that could be," Aelita says, a sharp tone in her voice.
"I'm sure, if this is true, we'll find out in time," Mary says.
"Yeah, should be interesting to find out," Sissi agrees.
Jeremy looks at Aelita. "You too, Aelita? How could you believe that stuff?" he asks. He then looks at Mary.
"I'm surprised you believe this Mary," he says to her. Mary shrugs.
"Well, I am pretending to be Mia. I have to show some sort of interest in this," she explains.
Afterwards
Under the arches
We're walking under the arches. Odd is still reading his Kadic news magazine.
"Here's what I want to know," William exasperates. "If it's really true, who do you think his uncle really is?"
"Fumet, Chardin, your father, Sissi," Ulrich lists.
Sissi shakes her head.
"No way, not my father. Chris has never visited us on any family holidays," she explains.
"What about Riley?" Ulrich asks.
"Huh? Michael Riley? The custodian, gatekeeper? Right well in that case why not Jim-" Odd says but then stops short. Odd bumps right into the man himself. He backs away a bit.
"Well done, Della Robbia, just as clumsy as ever," Jim tells him.
"Jim, what a coincidence! We were just talking about you," Odd says, and laughs nervously.
"About me?" Jim asks.
"Yeah, it seems that the Subdigitals' drummer is coming to Kadic to visit his uncle and we'd thought you'd be the first to know," Odd replies. Jim holds his hand up in defense.
"Me? Huh? What gave you an idea like that?" Jim asks.
Odd slaps his hand on his head.
"Oh, I almost forgot, how stupid of me. That's not your style of music at all, is it Jim? You're more into like oldies huh?"
"Yeah, but wait a second- I also happen to like rock music and I love the Subdigitals," Jim replies, pointing to himself. He looks at his fingers nonchalantly. "Those guys are very talented artists. Especially my nephew, he's really great," he mentions.
My eyes widen in surprise.
Jim… you're really his uncle?! I think. All of us look at each other, surprised too.
"Hey, I was right! You're Chris's uncle," Odd says. "I can't believe it!"
"Uh… I didn't say that, did I?" Jim asks.
"Uh huh, you sure did, Jim," Odd replies. He looks at us. "That's what he said, right?" He looks back at us and Jim lets his hands drop in defeat. He sighs.
"Okay, little Chris is my nephew," he confirms. Odd turns to us and smiles again. "But-"
"Wow, that's what I call a sensational scoop," Odd says, enthusiastically.
Jim puts his hand up. "I'm counting on you all not to tell anybody." He points at Odd and Odd turns to face him.
"Especially you, Della Robbia, I don't want this getting around," he warns. Odd makes a fist and places it over his chest.
"I promise not to tell a living soul, Jim," he says.
Somehow, Odd, I don't find that encouraging, I think.
Afterwards
Inside the gymnasium
We're sitting in a row together. Jim's standing next to Chris, who is being photographed. He's tall, has white hair, black eyes. He's caucasian, and is wearing two red wristbands on each wrist. He has a dark red t-shirt, with the Subdigitals logo on it. He's wearing a camo belt and orange pants.
"My dear Chris, on behalf of the entire staff and student body of Kadic Academy," Mr. Delmas starts, a few students start to cheer and whistle. "I would like to wish you a very warm welcome," he finishes. He moves to the side and all of us start cheering. Mary is simply clapping. Chris takes the stand. He puts his hand up, signaling for us to stop cheering.
"Good morning everyone, and thank you all for this enthusiasm," Chris says, leaning in to speak into one of the microphones at the stand. The students scream in response.
"I guess, as all of you know, I came here to visit my uncle," Chris looks at Jim who smiles back at him. Then looks back at us.
"But there's another reason as well. The Subdigitals have decided to do a school tour to discover new talent. And to develop that talent by giving you a chance to be the opening act at our next concert!" He reveals. We look at each other in shock. We definitely didn't expect this. There's another round of pictures, more of the girls scream. Chris puts his hand up again.
"And thanks to the kind authorization of your principal," He looks at Mr. Delmas, then looks back at us.
"We've organized an audition this afternoon, right here in your gymnasium."
And the crowd goes wild.
Afterwards
Inside Lila and Aelita's room
Mary and William are with Odd, Yumi, and Sissi. I'm helping Aelita look for her old techno disc CD in our closet. We found my mp3 player with the headphones, but no CD.
"How about your desk drawer?" I ask.
Aelita nods. She pulls one of the desk drawers open. She takes an old box of CDs she put in there a while ago, and empties them out. Aelita looks at the pile of CD cases on the floor, then spots the one she's looking for. It's labeled with a sticky note.
"There you are," she says and laughs. She bends down to grab it and kisses it in excitement. Then she realizes I'm still here and looks at me.
"Please don't tell the others I just did that," she requests. I smile and nod.
"I won't," I say. She gets up and we start walking to the door. We're about to walk out when Jeremy arrives with a CD case of his own, but something tells me it's not for Chris.
"Jeremy, it's you," Aelita says.
Jeremy points to the CD case. "Yeah, I was thinking, Aelita, that since Delmas cancelled classes today, we can make some headway on the program for our new virtual ship." Aelita looks away a bit sadly.
"Well I… I'd like to, but…" she trails off and Jeremy notices she's holding the CD case.
"Oh no, come on, don't tell me you're going to waste your time going to that audition," he says. Aelita looks at him.
A bit harsh Jeremy, I think.
"Imagine what Xana might be plotting on the network even while we're talking. We've got to find a way to travel there, and I was counting on you, Aelita. You too, Lila," Jeremy says.
Aelita looks at her CD case then puts it in her pocket.
"Alright, I won't go," she says. Jeremy smiles at us. He then looks at me.
"You don't mind right?" He asks.
I nod.
"I don't... Let's go," I reluctantly agree.
Afterwards
Inside Jeremy's room
Jeremy is sitting on his chair and looking at the computer. Aelita and I are sitting on his bed. I can tell she's still pretty down about not auditioning. I wouldn't mind staying here with Jeremy if it meant Aelita could go to her audition.
"You see, this is where I'm stumped," Jeremy says. He points to the computer. "I still don't understand the real nature of the transitional interface between Lyoko and the network, even though I've gone over the flux and-" he starts to explain but notice Aelita and I are not really too into it right now.
"Aelita, Lila, are you two listening?" Jeremy asks.
Aelita and I snap out of it.
"Oh, I'm sorry, could you say that again?" Aelita asks.
"Yeah, I wasn't paying attention. Sorry," I say.
He looks at us and sighs.
"Never mind," He turns to the computer again. "There might be a way. I've discovered that we can reconfigure the navigation parameters and the relative function to the frequency of the flux..."
I can't help but look at Aelita. She seems really upset. I get that Jeremy's insistent on making the virtual submarine. But doesn't he realize that Aelita deserves this?
Later
Aelita decided to take Jeremy's laptop out, so I'm watching her use it. I can't help but wonder how the auditions are going.
Or if Mary decided to audition for Mia. Now THAT would be funny to see, I muse.
There's a beep on the computer that snaps me out of my thoughts.
"What do you mean, system error?" Jeremy asks, frustrated. "Okay, don't blow your cool, Jeremy. We'll just shift the polarity of the contact flux and... uh," he starts telling himself, but turns to us.
"Hand me those figures," he tells Aelita. I'm about to grab them for Aelita since she has her eyes closed.
"Lila, is she okay?" Jeremy asks.
Was she sleeping? I think.
I check her by giving her a nudge and she opens her eyes.
"Aelita?" I ask.
"Oh, something wrong?" Aelita asks, not hearing Jeremy's previous question.
"It's okay, I can finish up on my own. If you both want to go, you can go," Jeremy tells us.
"Are you sure?" Aelita asks.
"Yeah. I think I know what's holding us up," Jeremy replies.
Aelita puts the laptop on his bed.
"Okay, we're off then!" Aelita exclaims happily. She gets up and I follow.
"We'll let you know how it goes!" I exclaim.
"See you later!" Aelita exclaims and opens the door. We run out and I close the door behind us.
I've always liked techno. Aelita plays really well, I think.
Afterwards
Inside the gymnasium
We open the doors to the gymnasium to find that no one is there.
"Oh no, we're too late," Aelita gasps, trying to catch her breath.
"Do you want me to try and find him?" I offer.
"If you can. I'll stay here…" Aelita trails off and looks at the mixing board that's set up.
"I have an idea. Maybe if he's nearby, he'll hear the music," Aelita says.
"That'll work, and in the meantime, I'll start looking for him. Two birds, with one stone," I say.
Aelita nods. I start running.
Afterwards
By the vending machines area
It was no good. Unfortunately, Aelita and I couldn't find Chris. Aelita is sitting down on the ground, her head in her arms. Ulrich, Yumi, Sissi, and William have opened their soda cans. Mary isn't drinking one.
"And you think compared to the rest of the candidates, I've got a good chance of getting picked? Just thinking about being the opening act to the Subdigitals is giving me the chills," Odd says, enthusiastically.
Ulrich points to him.
"Odd, it's not in the bag just yet," he says.
"Yeah, there are still plenty of other people who might get it," William says.
"Plus, I could always be the one who gets it. I think he liked my singing," Sissi says, confidently.
"Time will tell," Mary says. Milly and Tamiya walk over to us.
"You guys want a scoop?" Milly asks.
"Chris finally found the opening act he was looking for," Tamiya explains.
"I knew it! Fame, fortune, and glory are all mine!" Odd exclaims.
"Forget about it, no one knows who it is. Not even Chris," Milly tells him.
"Why's that?" I ask.
"Apparently it happened after the auditions. All he heard was the music. He didn't see the DJ," Tamiya explains.
Aelita gasps and I make a realization. Her plan worked!
"Oh, I don't believe it!" Odd groans.
"He went to see the principal to see if he could find the Cinderella, whoever he or she is," Milly explains. Aelita runs pass us.
Go for it, Aelita, I cheer on.
"Huh? What's the matter with her?" Milly asks.
"Well, when you gotta go, you gotta go, I guess," Odd replies.
Milly and Tamiya wave us goodbye.
Shortly after
We're still hanging out by the vending machines. Someone's cell phone starts ringing. Turns out it's Ulrich's. He takes it out then puts it to his ear.
"Yeah Jeremy?" Ulrich asks. There's a short pause.
"Okay, but Aelita just took off and no one knows where she went," Ulrich tells him.
Not entirely true. I know she went to look for Chris, but I have no idea where he would be. I hope she's okay… I think, concerned.
Afterwards
Under the arches
We're waiting for Jeremy under the arches. Yumi takes out her cell phone and calls Aelita. She puts it to her ear and it seems to go straight to voicemail because Yumi moves the phone away from her ear and hangs up.
"She's not picking up," Yumi says, concerned.
"She's not in her room, either," Jeremy tells us. He looks at me.
"Any idea where she might have run off to, Lila?" he asks and reaches us.
"Well…" I trail off. They look at me.
"After we left you, we made our way to the gymnasium. I tried to look for Chris because Aelita still wanted to audition, even though no one was there," I explain.
"Wait a minute," Mary says. "Is she the one Milly and Tamiya were talking about earlier?"
I nod.
"She is," I say.
"That explains why she ran off earlier," Sissi says.
"So, she's the mystery DJ. Makes sense," William shrugs.
"Yeah, it explains everything," Ulrich agrees.
"Do you mind filling me in?" Jeremy asks.
Yumi looks at him. "Don't worry, we'll tell you on the way. Ulrich, Odd, William, and Mary, you four go and find her. She must have gone to the principal's office to see Chris. Meet us at the factory," she says, and they nod.
"Right, we're on it!" Odd exclaims. They take off.
Afterwards
Sissi, Jeremy, Yumi, and I keep running as we pass by Tamiya and Milly who seem to be in shock. They're sitting on the steps of the cafeteria. We stop running.
"Are you two okay?" Sissi asks.
"Did Emily say something intelligent for once?" Yumi asks.
"Chris just kidnapped Aelita," Tamiya explains.
"What?" Jeremy and I ask. We walk over to them and then reach them.
"Yeah, we saw him pass by with Aelita on his shoulder. He was totally weird, like the mad killer from Executioner 2," Milly references.
"Shouldn't we call the police?" Tamiya asks.
"Uh, I wouldn't do that. That was for the video," Yumi lies, and laughs nervously. "I mean, the new Subdigitals video. They're doing a science-fiction thing with robots invading the school."
Jeremy holds up his finger. "Right, and we've got to go now. We've got parts in the next scene they're shooting," he points away from them.
"You too, Lila? But what about your stage fright and camera shyness?" Milly asks.
"I um… can't really pass this one up. I'd never forgive myself," I reply sheepishly. We start running again, leaving Milly and Tamiya confused. We make our way to the park so we can get to the woods. Jeremy takes his cell phone out. He dials someone on speed dial and puts it to his ear.
"Ulrich," he says. There's a short pause. "Chris kidnapped Aelita," he relays. There's another short pause and then he hangs up. He puts his cell phone away.
"I hope she's okay," I sigh. "I should have gone with her."
"There's no way of knowing what would have happened, even if you did," Sissi tells me. I nod.
Maybe she's right, I think.
Afterwards
Inside the lab
The freight elevator's doors open. We see the holosphere display case with Lyoko online.
Oh no… I trail off. The four of us run to Jeremy's chair. Jeremy puts his headset earpiece in his ear. He starts typing and then calls Ulrich from the computer.
"You can stop looking for Aelita. She's on Lyoko," Jeremy informs them.
"We know. There's a polymorphing spectre on the loose."
"Get here as soon as you can," Jeremy says.
"And Mary, please come too," I request.
"She will. We're at the secret passage," he says and then hangs up.
Jeremy looks at the three of us.
"Head for the scanners."
"Right!" Sissi exclaims.
Afterwards
Lyoko's Forest Sector
We're virtualized to the forest sector. I see Mia using her dark smoke on Aelita. There are two Krabs with her as well. Yumi takes out her Tessen Fans and Sissi grabs her boomerang. She throws her boomerang at Mia. Using her kunai, Mia's easily able to deflect the attacks. The two catch their weapons. Yumi closes her Tessen Fans and the Krabs turn to us. Mia turns to us too. Sissi puts her boomerang back in its holder.
"You may be possessed by Xana, but you're still a rookie on Lyoko Mia," Yumi tells her.
"Attack!" Mia orders. The Krabs start firing their lasers and we start dodging them. Yumi does several twirls to dodge the lasers. Aelita starts running away from Mia and the two Krabs. The three of us run to catch up with her.
"Follow her!" Mia orders the Krabs.
"Hey Mia," I say, and take my hunter's knife out of its hoister. Yumi takes her Tessen Fans out and Sissi focuses on powering up her her clear green emeralds. They start glowing green.
The three of us charge at Mia and Yumi takes her Tessen Fans and throws them at Mia who blocks them with her kunai. Sissi's emeralds stop glowing and she puts her hands together.
"Wind!" she exclaims. She unleashes a large blast of wind at Mia. This causes her to lose one of her kunai. This gives me the opportunity to strike at her with my hunter's knife. Our weapons clash and Yumi does a handstand, she then kicks Mia in the stomach, causing her to be pushed back. Mia runs at us, and so, gathering up my ice power, I charge it in my other hand. My amulet glows and I unleash it on the ground, causing it to freeze as Sissi jumps onto Mia's back and pushes her down. This causes Mia to slide across the ice.
"Jeremy, where are the guys? We're going to need some back up over here," Yumi tells him.
"They're on their way. Meanwhile, try to get to the activated tower. It's bearing south of your position. I'll bring up your vehicles."
Mia collects herself and holds out her hand. I see the kunai struggling to get up, but then it flies to her. Mia grabs it and the ice on the ground disappears. She gets up and starts running at us. She tries taking us on with her kunai. Yumi takes out her Tessen Fans and throws them at Mia who blocks them with her kunai. She runs at us and then she swings at the three of us. We're able to dodge them. Yumi jumps into the air and catches her Tessen Fans.
For some reason, Jeremy hasn't sent in our vehicles yet. Yumi lands on the ground. I put my hunter's knife back in its hoister.
"On three, we catch up to Aelita," I tell them. Mia grunts at me and starts running at us again. I start focusing my powers in both of my hands. Mia gets closer, my amulet glows, and I unleash two ice blasts at her. I freeze her from bottom to top. I can already see the ice cracking.
"It won't hold her for long, let's go!" I exclaim. Yumi and Sissi nod. We start running down the path Aelita and the Krabs took.
Afterwards
We're still running down the path trying to catch up to Aelita, but we hear footsteps behind us.
I guess my ice powers don't last very long against someone as strong as Mia, I think. Even if these powers were given to me by Jeremy. Nice to know I still have some limitations.
"Jeremy, where are those vehicles, huh?" Yumi asks, looking up. We stop running and turn forward to see Mia following us.
Yumi takes her Tessen Fans out. She opens them and throws them in an upward position. Mia is about to use her kunai again to block them, but Yumi puts her hands on her head. A pink aura envelops around her. She holds out her hands and just as the Tessen Fans are about to be hit, they pass over Mia and hit her in the back. This causes her to be thrown forward onto the ground.
Jeremy isn't responding... this isn't like him. I've got a bad feeling about this, I hope he's okay, I think, concerned.
Inside the lab
POV William's
Reaching the lab with Jim and Chris, the freight elevator's doors open. Suddenly, Jeremy comes flying at us, crashes into a wall, and passes out. We run to him.
"Jeremy," Ulrich says.
"What is this place? A mad scientist hideout?" Jim asks. They see the polymorphing spectre of Chris.
"Who is that guy over there? A stunt double or a clone?" Chris asks.
"A polymorphing spectre," I explain.
Chris walks up to the polymorphing spectre. "Well spectre or not, he's not getting my autograph."
"Chris don't!" Mary exclaims. She transforms into her white smoke form, surprising Jim and Chris. The polymorphing spectre smirks at her as she returns to her regular human form.
"Mrs. Smith… but where's Bedard?" Jim asks.
"No questions asked remember, Jim?" Odd asks. Mary starts channeling white electricity in her hand then chucks it at the spectre who vanishes in black smoke. The electricity hits the wall of the lab, scorching it. Chris looks at Mary in disbelief. Jeremy starts waking up.
Lyoko's Forest Sector
POV William's
"Virtualization," Jeremy says. Opening my eyes, Ulrich and I land on the ground of the forest sector. One of the Krabs growls at us. Odd lands on the Krab's head.
"Hey there, you little Krab cakes, did you miss us?" Odd asks. He cocks his paw and holds it steady with his other paw. He fires several Laser Arrows into the Krab's target eye. "Yeah!" he exclaims and jumps off it. The Krab's head skids across the ground before vanishing.
The two remaining Krabs start charging their lasers. I take my double edged sword out of its sheath. Ulrich and I jump, heading towards the other Krabs. We land on each of the Krabs' heads. I pull my double edged sword upwards, and Ulrich takes one of his twin Katana blades out of its sheath. He stabs the Krab's target eye and I plunge the front end of my blade into the target eye of my Krab. Ulrich and I jump off the Krabs. They both explode, breaking into pieces and then disappearing.
POV Mary's
I'm fighting off the polymorphing spectre as each of us tries to outdo the other.
Keep it up. Do not make a mistake, Future Xana tells me. I push further as the polymorphing spectre starts to get pushed back against the floor. Jim and Chris are looking at the both of us, dumbfounded.
POV Lila's
Mia readies her kunai and we take our weapons. I have my bow out.
Three on one, and we're still not close to beating her! I think, frustrated.
Yumi throws her Tessen Fans upward in the air and Sissi throws her boomerang sideways. They both fly at Mia but she is able to use each kunai to block the incoming weapons. I put my arrow on my bow and pull the drawstring back. I let the arrow fly. Mia's barely able to use her kunai to block the arrow. It falls to the ground. Yumi and Sissi catch their weapons.
We notice we're near a small pool of water with logs. Yumi and Sissi put their weapons away. Yumi starts cartwheeling over to the area but Sissi and I just run, following Yumi. We get up onto the log, with Mia following us, and Yumi continues cartwheeling. Mia throws black smoke at all three of us, causing me to lose my bow, and all of us to tumble across the log. We fall down and see Mia's image reflected in the water.
"Ya!" Mia exclaims, and plunges her kunai into Yumi and Sissi. They devirtualize in a cloud of pixels. She takes a look at me. I'm about to get up, but then she takes both of her kunai and plunges them into me. I'm devirtualized too.
POV William's
Running onto the log, with Ulrich and Odd staying behind to help Aelita, I face Mia.
"You know, kiddo, that really isn't a great way to treat your friends," I tell her.
I take out my weapon. Mia grunts at me and charges, I return the favor. We clash our weapons, then switch positions on the log. I back up a bit and get off the log, I hear the screech of a flying Manta behind me. I look at it. Mia runs at me again, and we clash our weapons. The flying Manta fires a laser at me, although I'm not sure if it's a warning shot. Suddenly, I hear the flying Manta exploding, and I look up to see Odd on his Overboard.
"Hey guys!" Odd exclaims. Mia looks up at Odd, confused and distracted. I back away.
POV Mary's
The polymorphing spectre is able to push me off my feet. It runs over to Chris and grabs him by the throat. It starts channeling purple electricity, and Chris tries to catch his breath. Jim runs to him and the polymorphing spectre uses its other hand to push Jim back.
"Tower deactivated," Aelita informs. The polymorphing spectre lets go of Chris and dipixelizes before vanishing into the ceiling. I get up from the floor. Chris and Jim look at each other. Jim rubs his neck from the throw, and Chris rubs his throat since he was choked.
"Huh?" Jim asks. He looks at Chris and Chris smiles in relief.
POV William's
Mia looks in a different direction, and now Ulrich super sprints his way over to us. I can see the hint of the Xana symbol on her forehead.
I think Aelita just deactivated the tower, I think.
Mia lowers her weapons. Ulrich and I approach her.
"Kiddo, we'll always be here," I say.
"Yeah, and we'll be sure to fight you every step of the way," Ulrich tells her. Mia puts her kunai together. She makes them vanishing using her black smoke.
"Super Smoke!" she exclaims then vanishes into the ground.
POV Mary's
"Belpois, Mrs. Smith, I want an explanation right now. And what in the world is all of this equipment for?" Jim asks, holding his hands up.
"We would, but personally I'm getting tired of explaining it to you Jim, and in ten seconds, you won't remember any of it, anyway," Jeremy says, holding his finger up since he already started up the return to the past program.
"Not so fast!" Chris pleads and takes out the CD case with a sticky note showing Aelita's name on it.
"First tell me who Aelita is."
Jeremy seems a bit surprised but I give him the go ahead.
"Do it, Jeremy," I tell him.
"Right, return to the past now," Jeremy says and presses enter. The big white bubble comes out of the holosphere and engulfs all of us, sending us back in time.
Earlier that day
Inside Jeremy's room
POV Lila's
Aelita and I are in Jeremy's room. He's sitting on his chair and looks at us.
"I guess, in the end, Xana's attack gave us another free afternoon to work on our virtual ship. Right, you two?" He asks. Aelita is using Jeremy's laptop, looking at the figures. She nods.
"Mh-hmm," Aelita says.
"Yeah," I nod. There's a double knock at the door.
"Come in," Jeremy says. It's Chris.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for Aelita Stones?" he asks.
"That's her," I say, looking at her and smiling.
"But what are you-" Aelita starts to say and holds up her hand, but Chris takes out the CD case we had found earlier.
"I'm really glad to meet you, Aelita. I heard your demo and I think it's really great. Can we go over to the gym? I'd love to hear it live," He says.
"I'd like to, but I'm not sure if I can," Aelita says, looking at Jeremy.
"Come on, both of you should go. It's an offer you two can't refuse," Jeremy says. Aelita puts his laptop on his bed.
"Okay then, let's go!" Aelita exclaims. We get up and start running out the door with Chris.
"By the way, how did you ever get a hold of Aelita's demo?" I ask, closing the door behind us.
"Oh, one of her friends gave it to me," Chris explains. We share a smile.
I think I know who that was. Nice one, Jeremy, I think.
Author's Note: Hi everyone, and with that another chapter is done! Sissi's emeralds design were changed in the previous chapter. Also, I want everyone to know that I am going to do my best to keep with our two week schedule update. Right now my state is in a panic (understandably so) because of the Coronavirus. There are over five cases confirmed (I won't say the exact number, but it is more than five.) However, I also don't know what's going to happen with possibly more increasing cases. I work at a job where I am constantly around people. I make sure to wash my hands as often as I can to stay healthy since that is the most I can do right now. I am also not panicking as much as other people but of course the state of things is concerning.
I want my readers to know that there is no way I am not getting this fanfiction done. I have it all per-written and so if I have to, I'll upload the chapters unedited. But I don't think it'll come to that since the editing process has been going well. Wreck Room is up next! Please stay safe, and healthy.
