Mrs. Hertz's Classroom
POV Lila's
Mrs. Hertz is giving a lecture on electricity. She's writing on the blackboard.
"Now, pay close attention, children. An electrical charge flows through a section of conductor. The current's intensity is expressed in amperes. The source of the tension, however, is measured in volts. This is what gives it the energy it needs to make to maintain the current. If the tension gives out, the source is constant, it continues its current flow," she explains.
Odd and Ulrich are sitting in the back, along with Jeremy and Aelita. I'm sitting up front with Sissi. She and I are taking notes. Mary is sitting next to Emily. Mrs. Hertz stops writing, she puts the chalk on her desk and then turns around. She crosses her arms.
"Odd, would you repeat what I just said? What exactly is an electrical charge?" Mrs. Hertz asks. All of us look at him. Knowing him and Ulrich, they were probably talking about the concert tonight. I can't believe I'm going to a SubDigitals concert where my mom is the opening act. We get to go back stage, too!
"It's the, uh-" Odd stammers, "the amount you have to pay every month for electricity," he jokes, unsure.
Everyone but us starts to laugh.
"Not exactly an enlightening answer," Mrs. Hertz tells him. We turn back to Mrs. Hertz.
Afterwards
Outside
The bells ring, signaling the end of class. One of the students opens the door. He and his friend leave, while Jeremy, Aelita, and I walk out. Jeremy starts walking down the steps.
"Aren't you coming to lunch, Jeremy?" Aelita asks.
"No, I came up with a brand new program to locate new replikas. I have just one or two more calculations to work out. See you later!" he exclaims, waving at us.
"I'll go with you to the cafeteria, Aelita," I say.
"Thanks, Lila. I know you're my daughter and everything, but you know you're not obligated to spend all your time with me, right?" she asks.
"I know," I reply. "But I'm happy to." Aelita smiles.
Together we walk down the steps and make our way toward the courtyard.
Vending Machines
Aelita gets a drink from one of the vending machines. She and I go over to Ulrich who's sitting on the ground, reading one of Milly and Tamiya's Kadic Herald's magazine.
"SubDigitals, I liked them better as the SubSonics," Ulrich says.
"Me too," I agree.
"I like their new name," Aelita says.
"Where is everyone?" I ask.
"Odd and Sissi are getting ready for tonight. 'Mia' walked out with Emily, so they could be hanging out," Ulrich tells me. Yumi and William walk over right to us.
"Well, Aelita, all set for the big night?" Yumi asks, holding a magazine.
"Don't even talk about it, I'm so scared," Aelita replies.
"Welcome to stardom," Yumi smiles. "Listen to this: "In our next issue, an exclusive interview with Aelita Stones, Kadic's brightest new star." She looks up at Aelita.
"Did you know about this?" Yumi asks.
"Milly and Tamiya haven't stopped hassling me for a week for that interview," Aelita replies. "But I did promise them."
Ulrich lowers his magazine.
"Oh, you know what those two are like," he says. "Always looking for a little bit of gossip."
"That's for sure," William agrees. Yumi winks at Aelita.
"Forget about gossip, think about the concert."
Aelita looks down at her can.
"Whenever I do, I get major butterflies in my stomach. I wish I could stop thinking about it. If I could just get my mind off it for a little while... I'm going to see if Jeremy needs help with his calculations, see you later," she says, leaving us. Odd and Sissi walk right over to us.
"So how goes the preparations for tonight?" I ask them.
"They're fine, but…" Sissi trails off.
"We must be jinxed or something. Both of us have a lot of homework to get done beforehand," Odd mentions.
"You'll get it done," William says.
Milly and Tamiya walk over to us. Tamiya's holding her camera, as usual. Milly holding her notepad.
"Hello, we're looking for Aelita. We're supposed to interview her. Do you know where we could find her?" Milly asks. We look at each other, then smile at them.
"She went to the gym," we all say in unison.
"Okay!" Milly exclaims. She starts heading off that way.
"Thanks a lot," Tamiya says, following her.
"Just doing our share to support school journalism," Ulrich says.
"Ditto. Anyways, why don't we get started on that homework, Odd dear?" Sissi asks.
"Sure thing," Odd says.
The two of them start walking away from us, hand in hand.
"It's amazing how much those two have grown as a couple," William says. He looks at Ulrich and Yumi.
"You know, you two really should start dating soon," he says, in a joking manner. Yumi and Ulrich blush slightly.
"We're just good friends, right ,Yumi?" Ulrich asks.
"Right," Yumi replies.
William and I look at them, knowing full well they aren't just good friends. It's amazing out of all of us, Odd is the only one who has been in a long relationship.
Afterwards
Rec Room
Some students are playing foosball. Ulrich, William, and I are sitting on individual comfort boxes. Sissi and Odd make their way over to Yumi and sit down next to her.
"Are you two finished with your homework already?" Yumi asks.
"Most of it, yeah," Sissi replies.
"Enough to not have to worry about getting it done on time tomorrow," Odd explains.
"But how did you two do it so quickly?" I ask.
Odd and Sissi look at each other. They shrug.
"We've been studying," they say in unison and smile at each other.
Aelita walks over to us, her bag around her waist.
"Oh, there you are," she says, and sits down on another cushion box.
"I came to give you your tickets for tonight," Aelita says. She opens her bag, takes out the tickets, and slides them onto the table. She doesn't sound too happy, though.
"What's wrong?" Yumi asks.
I can see a hint of blushing on Aelita's cheeks. Whether from embarrassment or something else, I'm not entirely sure..
"Oh, it's nothing," Aelita replies. "It's on account of Jeremy."
"Einstein wins another first prize in diplomacy?" Odd asks. Aelita smiles.
"Yeah, I guess you might say that," she says.
"Oh relax, princess, you'll see. You're going to bring the house down tonight," Ulrich says, trying to reassure her.
"It's definitely going to be something special," William agrees.
"For sure," Yumi says, giving her a thumbs up.
"Yeah," Odd says.
"Ditto," Sissi smiles.
"You'll be great," I say, smiling at Aelita.
"Anyway, don't get there too late. The crowd is going to be really big," Aelita says.
This is definitely something I have to tell Kayori. She's going to freak out, I think.
Afterwards
Lila and Aelita's room
I already did what I wanted to get ready for the concert, which honestly wasn't much, just a nice shower. I'm still in my usual clothes. Mary said she would meet up with me to leave for the concert. I go ahead and dial Kayori on speed dial. It might be a bit early, but I'm hoping she answers. I let it ring for a few seconds, but there's no answer. I'm about to end the call, but then I hear someone picking up.
"Hey, sorry about that," Kayori says. "Is everything okay?"
I start to tell her about the concert tonight. Kayori is definitely shocked.
"No way? Aelita's the opening act?!" she exclaims.
"She tried out for the Subdigitals a while back," I explain.
"They're the SubDigitals now, huh? I liked their old name better," Kayori says. I chuckle lightly.
"Yeah, I do too," I say. "I'll try to get a picture of her on stage for you, but I'm not even sure if they allow photography."
"Most concert halls don't. Just save the ticket, that's proof enough!" Kayori exclaims happily. "I wish TSA hadn't lost my stuff. If I had known sooner, I would have asked my parents to come back for the concert as a one time thing."
"I'm sure you would have," I say. There's a knock on the door.
"Lila, it's Mary, are you ready?" Mary asks from outside the door.
"Hey, it looks like Mary is here, so I'm going to get going now," I say.
"No problem. Enjoy the concert. Let me know how Aelita does!"
"I will for sure," I say.
"Bye, Lila," Kayori says.
"Bye, Kayori," I say.
Ending the call, I put my cell phone in my pocket. I walk over to the door, and open it.
"Are you excited to see Aelita performing tonight?" Mary asks.
"I am!" I exclaim. "What does he think about it?"
"He's not looking forward to it," Mary replies. I close the door to my room. Using the key, which I normally don't use too often because one of us is always in it, I lock it. I put the key in my pocket.
"Why's that?" I ask.
"Too much noise," Mary explains.
I chuckle lightly. Mary and I start making our way to leave. Of course Future Xana wouldn't like a concert.
Later
Outside Aelita's Room
Odd knocks on the door, and opens it. All of us poke our heads into Aelita's dressing room.
"Surprise!" Odd exclaims. Aelita's all dressed up and is applying makeup in front of a mirror. We walk in the room one by one.
"We came to see our favorite star before she becomes too famous to see us," Odd jokes.
Aelita uses her pink fluff thing to apply the makeup.
"Don't be so silly. I'm really glad to see you all," she says. She looks at us in the mirror, and notices someone is missing.
"Did Jeremy come with you?" She asks.
"He sure did," William says.
"But, I think we lost him in the crowd," Ulrich says.
I still can't believe he's missing out on this. There are some days I wonder how my parents really got together, I think.
Odd lifts his finger.
"You know Einstein, a great head in math, but it's always in the clouds everywhere else," he jokes.
"He's right, you know," Sissi agrees.
"Don't worry, he'll be out there listening and cheering you on," Yumi says.
"I hope so," Aelita says.
"Aelita. You're on in five minutes,"a woman tells her, opening the door slightly, then heading right out.
"Time for me to start concentrating," Aelita says.
"Okay then, we'll head on out," I say. We all wave goodbye. Yumi is behind me, and she stops walking.
"You look beautiful tonight," Yumi says to Aelita. I can't help but smile at that. My mom really is beautiful and one day Jeremy is going to truly appreciate her for being her. I walk out of the room entirely, and meet up with Mary. I hear the door close and Yumi catches up.
Afterwards
Main concert hall
We're in the main concert hall, the students and others are gathering around the main stage. So we follow suit.
"It's still hard to believe my father allowed me to go tonight," Sissi says.
"He's been really cool with us lately," Odd says.
"He has?" William asks.
"Yeah, in fact, every so often I talk to him via email," Odd replies.
"Wow," I say.
Later
The concert is just about to begin, and Jeremy still isn't here!
Dad, I can't believe you're missing this! I think, upset.
"Still no sign of him," Mary says.
"I'm calling him," Yumi tells us. A lot of people are talking amongst themselves. Yumi dials Jeremy's number on speed dial. She puts the phone to ear and lets it ring. There's a short pause.
"Jeremy, where are you?" Yumi asks. "The concert is just about to start. Aelita was really crushed not to see you."
There's another short pause. Yumi ends the phone call.
"No dice?" William asks.
"He says he'll be here soon," Yumi replies.
We wait for a few minutes and more students start to cheer.
"Aelita's about to go on," Odd says.
The spotlights come on, and the announcer introduces Chris along with his two band mates.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the SubDigitals!" he exclaims.
Chris and his two band mates wave to the crowd. The cheering grows louder, and the three musicians go over to their instruments.
But… where's Aelita? I wonder. Chris is at the drums, his other band mates pick up their guitars. They start playing, and the crowd goes wild again.
"But... why didn't Aelita go on?" Sissi asks.
Yumi looks down at her phone and sees the ID. She answers it, and puts it on speaker.
"Jeremy?" she asks.
"Xana just launched an attack," Jeremy informs.
Thankfully it's so loud in here no one is really paying attention to our conversation.
"They just cancelled Aelita's opening act," Yumi informs.
"That sounds like Xana," Jeremy says. Chris starts singing.
"Check it out, and then meet me at the factory."
Yumi ends the call. She looks at us.
"Let's go backstage and see if Aelita is okay," Yumi says.
We nod.
Backstage
POV Mary's
All of us go backstage, we can still hear Chris singing from here. We see Sophie is holding an unconscious Aelita in her arms.
"She's over there!" Lila points.
Be on guard. I remember this, Milly and Tamiya will be possessed too, Future Xana warns me.
Understood, I say to him.
POV Lila's
Sophie starts running away as we give chase. Mary runs in front of me as Milly and Tamiya approach. They frizz out.
"Stand back!" Mary exclaims, and we comply. She charges her hands with white electricity.
"Milly, Tamiya, don't come any closer. I don't want to have to hurt you," Mary warns.
"But we do," Milly says. Milly raises her hand and Mary sighs.
"Maybe they're angry because we blew a scoop," Odd jokes.
"Now is not the time for jokes, Odd dear," Sissi tells him.
Mary launches her white electricity at the ground in front of Milly and Tamiya. This causes the possessed girls to yelp in a distorted voice and fall to the ground. Ulrich spots something on a nearby table.
"Mary and I will stay here to distract them. You guys go and get Aelita back," Ulrich tells us.
"Good luck with the press, you two," Odd jokes.
"Thanks," Mary says.
"Let's go!" William exclaims.
Yumi, William, Odd, Sissi, and I run in the direction Sophie was running.
Queue up room
We reach the queue up room where we had first entered before getting to the main hall. No one's here. Yumi's phone rings, she looks at it and then answers.
"Jeremy, a woman has taken Aelita away. She's probably heading to the factory," Yumi informs. Odd, Sissi, William, and I look at her. There's a short pause. Yumi hangs up and we start making our way out of the building.
Afterwards
Factory
Yumi, Odd, and Sissi swing down on the metal cables. They land on the floor. The metal cables swing back to William and I. Without hesitation, we grab them and swing to the floor. Then we all run to the freight elevator.
We get inside the elevator and Yumi presses the red button to go down. The hangar door closes. The freight elevator descends.
I hope Jeremy and Aelita are okay! I think, worried.
Inside the lab
The freight elevator's doors open. We walk inside the lab, to see a blonde woman typing on the keyboard. I think it's Sophie, the one I met with Aelita a while back.
Odd, Sissi, and Yumi's jaws drop. William and I are also surprised to see Jeremy isn't here.
"Jeremy, if you're here, answer me," Aelita pleads. Sophie turns to us, clearly possessed, but she still types away at the keyboard.
"Lateral crossing pattern and pincer strategy," Odd says.
"In english, Odd," William requests.
"Let's go!" Odd exclaims.
Sophie gets off the chair and looks at us. We start running and she raises her hand. Instead of the usual purple lightning, Sophie's hand is charging with blue lightning.
That's new! I think, surprised.
Odd and William run at Sophie first. Sophie fires a lightning blast at William but he dodges it. I look back at the wall to see that it's scorched. I turn back to see Odd jumping in the air. He makes a fist, almost like he's about to punch Sophie, but then kicks her with both of his feet instead. This causes Sophie to frizz out a little, and pushes her back a little.
Sissi and I start running behind her to corner her while Yumi runs on top of the holosphere display case. Sophie looks like she's about to turn our way, but then notices us. Sissi and I smirk. It's too late for Sophie as she's hit by Yumi's kick, then tumbles onto the ground, surprised and frizzing out.
Yumi makes a victory fist. She puts her hands on her hips.
"How was that for strategy?" Yumi asks. Odd smiles.
"It was good," Sissi replies.
"Thank you," Yumi smiles.
The freight elevator doors open, revealing Jeremy, who has his hand on one of the sides. He looks worn out, probably courtesy of Sophie.
"Guess we beat you here, Einstein," Odd jokes.
"Where's Aelita?" Jeremy asks.
"She already got virtualized on Lyoko," William replies.
Jeremy runs over to his chair. He sits down and puts the headset earpiece on. He adjusts the mic part.
"Aelita, are you okay?" Jeremy asks.
"Jeremy, at last! This isn't exactly where I was expecting you, but I'm happy to hear your voice," Aelita replies.
"Sorry about the concert," Jeremy says.
"We'll talk about it another time," Aelita says. I hear Aelita yelp once, then again, and again.
This doesn't sound good! I think, concerned.
"Mia!" Aelita exclaims.
"Head for the scanners, quickly," Jeremy urges.
"Right!" I exclaim.
Inside the scanner room
Yumi, Odd, and Sissi are in their respective scanners. William and I are going to be virtualized next.
"Are you ready?" Jeremy asks.
"We're ready, Jeremy," Sissi replies.
The scanners doors close.
Afterwards
Lyoko's Mountain Sector
My vision returns, I see that William and I are falling to the ground. We soon land and see Yumi's Tessen Fan returning her, it seems she just dealt a blow to Mia, who's riding on a Manta. We get up.
"Nice one, Yumi," Odd says.
"I hope we didn't miss much," I say.
"Not at all," Yumi says. "It's just getting started."
"Are we all ready to take on Mia?" Sissi asks.
Odd rubs his cheek with his finger.
"I think we have an audience," he says. Several Kankrelats head down our way. Yumi looks up at Aelita, and I look up too. Aelita fires off an energy field at a Manta that's pursuing her. But it misses.
"Jeremy, we're stuck here," Yumi says. "No way to reach Aelita without some transport."
"Okay, Yumi. I'll have your vehicles in no time," Jeremy says.
Mia flies above and past us with her Manta, but she circles back. She has the Manta fire a laser at us, and we all scramble. We hear the metallic legs of the Kankrelats heading our way. I turn back and so does Odd. The four Kankrelats start charging their lasers and launch them at us. Odd, Sissi, William, and I dodge the lasers. We start running towards them, while Mia's Manta focuses on Yumi. I hear her taking her Tessen Fans out.
I start channeling my ice powers into my hands. William raises his hand, and my snowflake amulet glows. My hands get cold.
"Ice blasts!" I exclaim. I unleash two ice blasts. One at the Kankrelat on the right side, another at the Kankrelat next to it. Both of them are hit by my ice blast.
"Fireball!" William exclaims. He summons his fireball and chucks it at one of the frozen Kankrelats. The Kankrelat is smashed into pieces, and explodes. Those frozen pieces disappear. William summons another fireball to do the same thing to the other one.
Sissi takes her boomerang out.
"Boomerang!" she exclaims, throwing it at a Kankrelat, and I see Odd jumping on the ground. Odd is in the air now, and the boomerang returns to smash the target eye of one of the Kankrelats. The Kankrelat explodes. Odd cocks his paw, and aims it mid air.
"Laser Arrow!" Odd exclaims. Sissi catches her boomerang. Odd fires off a Laser Arrow at the remaining Kankrelat, and William chucks his fireball at the frozen Kankrelat. Both attacks hit both Kankrelats. Odd's Kankrelat explodes, and the frozen Kankrelat is shattered again.
Odd lands on the ground. Our vehicles appear in front of us. One by one, we get on them. I get onto the saddle of my broomstick. Sissi revs up her Overbike. Williams tilts his weight and so does Odd on his Overboard. I kick my broomstick into the air. We take off, with Yumi already ahead of us, it seems.
With not much to go on, we try to catch up to Yumi.
Afterwards
We hear Yumi's Tessen Fan and a laser being shot off.
Gotta hurry! I think.
We urge our vehicles to go faster, and see Yumi just outside a cave-like entrance. Mia is across from her and her Manta charges a laser. It fires it at Yumi, but Odd tilts his weight more. He puts his fists together and his purple shield appears.
"Shield!" Odd exclaims. He reflects the laser out of Yumi's way. His shield disappears.
Nice one, Odd! I think.
Yumi, Odd, Sissi, William, and I start driving along together, now.
"Odd, Sissi, William, Lila. Lateral flight pattern and pincer strategy," Yumi suggests.
"Are you speaking english?" Odd jokes.
"Let's go!" Sissi exclaims, revving her Overbike more. She goes a bit ahead of us, and Mia continues to fly towards us. Her Manta fires at us. Sissi, Yumi, and I have to fly our vehicles up in the air to avoid the shot. Odd and William take this opportunity to attack Mia, who has her kunai in her hands. Odd cocks his paw, and William raises his hand. He summons a fireball.
"Laser Arrow!" Odd exclaims. Odd fires several Laser Arrows at Mia, who uses her kunai to block his weapons.
"Fireball!" William exclaims. He fires at Mia's Manta, but Mia guides her Manta down, dodging it.
Yumi, Sissi, and I fly over to the boys to help them. Giving my broomstick control, I take my bow off its hook. I get my arrow out of my quiver, and put it on the bow. I pull the drawstring back, and keep my aim steady. Yumi throws her Tessen Fan at Mia and I let my arrow fly. Our attacks hit her, causing her to derail and spin all the way down.
"Great," Odd compliments.
I put my bow back onto its hook. Suddenly, all of our vehicles start dematerializing.
"This isn't good!" Sissi exclaims.
"What's going on?!" she exclaims.
"Not sure, but we gotta think fast!" Odd suggests. With our vehicles still dematerializing, we follow Odd to another plateau. Odd and William's vehicles are the first to dematerialize completely, Odd jumping off his in time.
William is barely able to get off of his in time. He lands on the ground. Yumi, Sissi, and I are able to bring our vehicles over to them. We get off, and then they dematerialize.
"Close one," Odd says.
"You said it," William agrees.
"Jeremy?" Yumi asks.
"This time we're on our own," Odd replies, looking at her. "No help from the factory."
We hear a screech coming from the Manta. We look to see Mia is back and has made it all the way to the top. Yumi takes her Tessen Fan out, and Sissi takes her boomerang out. Together, the two of them try to throw their weapons, but Mia's Manta fires off two lasers. The first laser hits Yumi, causing her to be thrown back. The second hits Sissi, which also throws her back. They fall flat on the ground.
Mia flies her Manta over to the three of us. We duck as it passes us. Odd cocks his paw and fires off a Laser Arrow. It's no use, as Mia flies away and Odd's attack misses. Yumi and Sissi get up. We run over to them, but Mia is heading right for us with her Manta. We start running.
I still can't believe we can't handle her by ourselves! I think.
"No planning on this one, it looks like we're gonna have to change the music," Odd jokes.
"Odd, can't you ever not joke in a serious situation?" William asks.
"Nope!" Odd replies. We keep running.
"Odd, trampoline spinning top action," Yumi suggests.
"Gotcha!" Odd exclaims. Odd starts running further ahead of us and then jumps. He lands on his hands. Mia and her Manta fly higher, but Yumi runs over to Odd. She jumps on his feet, he then lets go of his hand and kicks her into the air. Sissi, William, and I watch Yumi as she takes her Tessen Fans out. Odd lands back on his feet.
Yumi spins in the air and hits the back of the flying Manta. This causes it to screech, and Mia is pushed off. Mia disappears into black smoke. Yumi lands back on the ground, she throws her Tessen Fans for some reason, though. Mia reappears behind Yumi, using her super smoke.
"It's game over for you, Yumi!" Mia exclaims, she plunges the kunai into Yumi. Yumi falls to the ground and starts devirtualizing.
"For you too, Mia," I hear Yumi say. I look to see why as the Tessen Fans return to where Yumi should be, but end up slicing through Mia from behind. Odd, Sissi, William, and I see Mia being tossed against the ground.
She vanishes completely in a burst of black and red smoke. The Manta that she was flying circles around us but is still a good distance away and high in the air.
"Oh great, I was in the mood for fish today," Odd jokes.
"Odd dear, fish isn't that great to begin with," Sissi jokes along.
"These two are definitely made for each other," William says to me. I nod.
"That's for sure," I agree.
Odd and Sissi smile at that. The Manta screeches and heads back over to us, charging its laser. We start running. The Manta tries to fire at us with its laser, one by one, but we're able to dodge the lasers. Odd is running on both of his paws and feet. He jumps backwards, and we stop running. We see him grabbing onto the Manta's back where the target eye is. His claws cut deep through, so he guides the Manta to us. We jump on the Manta one by one, in hopes of finding Aelita before it explodes.
"Woah!" Odd exclaims.
All of us hang onto the Manta, Odd digs his claws in further to make a turn.
Hang in there, Aelita! I think.
Afterwards
We hear Aelita yelping, Odd flies the Manta all the way up to a small chasm-like hole. Odd cocks his paw.
"Back into the sky, guys!" Odd jokes.
"Laser Arrow!" he exclaims. He fires off a Laser Arrow. The Manta continues to fly closer until it reaches Aelita, but the Laser Arrows reaches it first. It hits the target eye and explodes. Aelita looks up at us.
"You guys!" she exclaims.
"Let's go, princess!" Odd exclaims.
Aelita waves her hand over her star bracelet. She laughs and her angel wings appear. Odd guides all of us to the tower. We soon reach it, and Aelita touches down on the ground. The three of us decide to hop off Odd's ride. Aelita's angel wings disappear. She runs to the tower and runs inside the tower's "doorway."
The tower's aura shifts from red to blue. We sigh in relief.
A big white bubble engulfs everything, sending us all back in time.
Earlier
The same night
Main concert hall
All the different colored lights are on again, Jeremy had talked to Aelita earlier. I'm glad my father is here for her this time.
"And now, let's hear it for a brand new DJ: Aelita Stones!" the announcer, introduces.
We all cheer. Aelita walks onto the stage. There are some surprised gasps because of how well Aelita is dressed tonight. They cheer louder. Aelita goes over to her mixing board and tunes it up. She puts her headphones on and starts playing her techno music. The spot lights go off a bit too.
We all start dancing, Mary included, which is funny because I didn't think she would know how to dance. Ulrich, Jeremy, Odd, and William are cheering the loudest out of all of us. Yumi claps her hands. She looks at me. Odd and Sissi are dancing together. Yumi is dancing with me.
"Hard to believe that's really our Aelita up there, huh?" she asks.
"It really is, Yumi, it really is," I reply.
Tonight, we're dancing to Aelita's music. My mother's music… and I can't help but smile.
