Lila and Aelita's Room
POV Lila's
And so, diary, that's pretty much what I've been up to. It's September now. In a matter of three weeks it'll be my real birthday. I can't help but think about how Kayori and I will be seeing each other soon. Not only that, but Cameron should have gone well over his goal by now, which means there's a possibility he might just end up coming on that same day. Part of me still feels guilty that I haven't told the others about possibly returning to the dark future with Future Aelita. I still have faith I'm going to see her.
There are times where I can't help but wonder what Future Xana is thinking. I mean, he's been living within Mary for a while now. I wonder if he's still the same, or if he's grown in his own way? I consider him a person because he and Mary went above and beyond to protect me in my future world. It was weird to be fused with Mary, when I fought against Mr. Delmas. I could hear Mary as well as Future Xana. I'm glad I've been possessed before, because I'm not sure how the others would have taken that.
On another note, Kayori and I are still talking to each other. It's been so nice, really, but I honestly believe there's no way we could have had a long distance relationship. Having had two relationships, I feel like I like being with the person themselves, rather than being far away from them. It would have eventually hurt me, emotionally, I think, to stay in a long distance relationship with Kayori.
I still can't believe Odd and Sissi are together. I think they already passed a year. It's hard to believe Odd used to be the guy who once dated the entire grade. In all honesty, I'm glad I told him day one, before everyone knew the truth, that I had just gotten out of a bad relationship. Mary had agreed it was the best move back then, too.
I'm glad I've had time to actually write in you, too. Jeremy is with Aelita now. She mentioned something about trying to locate another replika. There are times like this when I'm glad I never knew everything about the adventures the lyoko warriors had. It would ruin the surprises to come, honestly.
I'm about to write another sentence, when there's a rapid knock on my door.
"Lila, it's Sissi! Hurry up," Sissi calls. I get up from my chair. I had moved my desk so that my view was a wall instead of the window, but it's still just nice to have a desk. I run over to the door, then reach it. I open the door, and Sissi seems to be holding an addition to the Kadic News.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Take a look at this!" Sissi replies. She shows me a magazine. I gasp, seeing the picture, and more specifically who is in it.
"Oh no," I say. In the picture, Yumi is wearing a blonde wig with some sort of pink dress.
"Who do you think did this?" I ask.
"I have one or two ideas," Sissi replies.
Afterwards
Under the arches
Sissi and I met up with Jeremy and Aelita. Mary isn't with us, she and Emily are hanging out today. In all honesty, I think there are times I'm jealous of them hanging out. Mary and I were so close with each other. But now, since she's posing as Mia, we haven't been. It is for the best, though. They probably got the Kadic News too, seeing as how Jeremy and Aelita have their own copy. Aelita tucks her's behind her back, as we see Yumi up ahead.
"Shut up!" Yumi exclaims, probably trying to get one of the girls from behind her to stop making fun of her. We walk over to her. It's clear as day she's embarrassed. Not that I blame or anything, I mean… this is obviously a bad day for her already. I can't imagine how the rest of her day will go.
I really hope Odd didn't do this, I think. If so, then that is seriously one of the stupidest pranks he's pulled yet. I wouldn't blame Yumi if she told Mr. Delmas all the pranks Odd pulled in the two years I've known him.
"Are you okay, Yumi?" Jeremy asks.
"You look upset, is anything wrong?" Aelita asks.
Yumi crosses her arms.
"I really don't want to talk about it," she says. "What's happening?"
"We just located a new replika on the network," Aelita answers. Jeremy lifts his finger.
"We're going to destroy it tonight. See you at the factory later," he says. The bells ring, signaling it's time for all of us to go to our classes. Yumi gives a thumbs up.
"I'll be there. I've got history now, see ya," she says. She puts her hands on the sides of her bag.
"Bye, Yumi," I say.
"Bye-bye," Yumi says. She continues walking away. With the coast clear, Aelita lifts her magazine up.
"Let's face it, she does look awful in pink," Jeremy says. "Although the color looks really great on you, Aelita."
Jeremy and Aelita start blushing. Sissi clears her throat.
"We should probably head to class too," she says.
"Uh, right," Jeremy agrees. His and Aelita's blush fades.
Later
Ice Sector Replika
The Skid has just been docked, the purple energy being used as an anchor, like it always is.
"The Skid has been docked, Jeremy," Aelita informs.
"That's great," Jeremy says. "I'll activate the tower."
The tower's aura shifts from blue to green.
"Well, who's going to get teleported tonight?" Jeremy asks.
"I'd vote for Yumi, Ulrich, and William. Yumi and Ulrich are good together on a mission. William, you haven't been teleported that much," Aelita replies.
"Makes sense," William agrees.
"I'm fine with going with William. But I would rather he and I go by ourselves than go with Ulrich," Yumi says.
"I don't believe it," Ulrich sighs.
"Woah, chill out, Yumi. Why don't you, William, and Odd go this time?" Jeremy asks.
"Yeah, sure," Yumi replies.
"Why not with me?" Ulrich asks.
"They weren't dumb enough to make me look bad in front of the whole school," Yumi answers.
No way… it was Ulrich? I think, surprised. Sissi and I look at each other, surprised. We figured it was Odd that did it.
"Odd, we've got to talk. I just changed my mind," Ulrich says.
"Ah, too busy for that. Sorry. Teleportation time, Jeremy. Come on, will you. Wake up," Odd urges.
"Patience, okay Odd?" Jeremy asks. "Why is everyone so wound up today? Energize: Odd. Energize: Yumi. Energize: William."
"So, Ulrich," Sissi says, speaking up. "What exactly did you do to Yumi to make her so angry at you?"
"It seems I gave that picture of her to the Kadic News," Ulrich answers.
"That sounds more like the idiotic stunt that Odd would pull," Jeremy says.
"That's what we thought too," I agree.
"Funny you two should say that," Ulrich says.
"Yumi must really hate you," Aelita surmises. "Got any ideas on how to get back on her good side?"
"The only way is to tell her the truth," Ulrich answers.
We wait to hear back from Jeremy about the others. He soon speaks up.
"Aelita. Activated tower. East of your position," Jeremy informs.
"We're on our way," Aelita says. "Disembark."
One by one we're taken out of the Skid.
Outside the Skid
Ulrich, Aelita, Sissi, and I are now on the ground. We stretch a bit.
"Here come your vehicles."
Our vehicles are materialized. Yumi's Overwing for Aelita. Ulrich and Sissi have their Overbikes. My broomstick for me. All of us get onto our vehicles. I kick my broomstick into the air. I don't kick it too hard, though, just enough to get off the ice. We start heading in the direction of the activated tower until we reach a path.
Afterwards
We've been driving along the path for a little while now. We can see the activated tower on the top of an ice platform that has a bridge-like structure connected to it, and an ice structure.
"Ulrich, Aelita, Lila, Sissi," Jeremy speaks up. "How's it going?" he asks. Aelita looks at the tower.
"We can see the activated tower," she replies.
"Not long now," I say.
"Good, on this end everything is good for the moment. Go for it."
"We're on it!" Sissi exclaims.
Ulrich, Aelita, Sissi, and I all tilt our weight more. We urge our vehicles to go faster. Suddenly, a Megatank comes from behind the large ice platform where the tower is. The Megatank opens up. Aelita and I gasp. It starts charging its laser wave.
Aelita and I fly upward. I hear Sissi and Ulrich jumping off their Overbikes just in time, as the laser wave totals the vehicles. Aelita holds out her hand and summons her energy field. She launches it at the Megatank. The energy field flies at the monster, and then hits it. It shocks the Megatank, and it explodes. Pushing myself up a bit, Ulrich lands on the Overwing. Sissi lands on my saddle. The two of them are safe.
"That's what I call coordination," Ulrich says.
"For sure," Sissi agrees.
She puts her hands on my shoulders. We start flying towards the tower again.
"You're going to need it. Two Tarantulas at eleven o'clock."
"We see them," I confirm.
The Tarantulas are down on their legs, their front legs are firing off lasers.
Aelita and I keep heading upwards, but then she suggests:
"Strategic retreat?"
We turn around, and drive along a path. We keep driving until we head towards an ice structure with curved sides. Unfortunately, the Tarantulas lasers hit mine Our vehicles. Ulrich and Aelita fall off the Overwing. They scream on their way down. My broomstick is out of control. It falls down, and we're screaming too. We soon into into the ice, the broomstick completely shattering into pieces.
Sissi and I tumble onto the ice, while Ulrich and Aelita land on it easily. They run over to help us. Ulrich offers his hand, and Aelita offers her hand to Sissi. We take them.
"Thanks," I say.
"Ditto," Sissi says.
"Don't mention it," Ulrich says.
We're closer to the tower now, but the Tarantulas readjust themselves. They start firing at us again, so the four of us take shelter behind an ice structure. The Tarantulas continue to fire their lasers at us, and one of them hits the curved side structure.
"Listen Ulrich, Lila, Sissi. Odd, Yumi, and William have Mia to deal with. I hope Aelita is already in that tower," Jeremy says.
Ulrich looks at the Tarantulas, they screech. Ulrich scoffs.
"Nearly there," he says. "We'll have to force our way through."
"Have you got a better idea?" Aelita asks.
"No," Ulrich replies.
"Any chance of it working?" I ask.
"No," Ulrich replies, again. I sigh.
"Sissi, charge your emeralds. Then, on my signal," I say.
"Super sprint!" Ulrich exclaims. He super sprints out of our hiding spot, leaving a yellow trail behind him.
Going over to Sissi, we get into position. She charges her emeralds while the Tarantulas focus on Ulrich. He runs quickly at them.
"Sissi, throw me," I tell her, "But keep charging your emeralds."
"Uh, right!" Sissi exclaims, unsure.
She grabs both of my hands. Her emeralds are still glowing green, so she starts spinning me. And spinning me. And spinning me. With Ulrich getting closer, I exclaim:
"Now!"
Sissi throws me, then throws her wind at me to give me an extra boost. Ulrich and I head towards the Tarantulas quickly. I take my hunter's knife out of its holster. I'm getting close to the second Tarantula's head. Focusing my ice powers to my feet, my snowflake amulet glows and ice comes out of them. My powers give me an extra boost. I'm barely able to grab the head of the second Tarantula, then plunge my hunter's knife into its target eye. I jump off, landing on the ice.
Ulrich throws his twin katana blade into the air. It plunges into his Tarantula's target eye. Both of our Tarantulas explode, our weapons fall to the ice. We go to pick them up, then put them in their proper places.
"All clear, princess," Ulrich calls out to her. "And well done Sissi, good aim."
Aelita and Sissi run over to us.
"Thanks, by the way," Sissi says.
"No problem. Lila and I will wait here for you, Aelita," Ulrich tells her. Aelita nods and runs to the tower.
POV Aelita's
Reaching the top of the platform, it lights up. The interface panel pops up, but then an idea suddenly occurs to me.
"Uh, Jeremy," I speak up.
"A problem?" Jeremy asks.
"This tower commands Mia's teleportation," I start, putting my hands together. "So the interface must contain protocols and programs that Xana uses to control her."
"Yeah, so?"
I place my hand on the interface panel.
"So if we hack into the data, maybe we can find a way to free Mia," I explain.
"That's right! Aelita, you are a genius!"
"I'll send you the program," I say. I start moving my hand along the interface panel, locating and downloading the programs that control Mia.
"Okay Aelita, I've got what I need. You can enter the Code: Lyoko."
POV Lila's
We look up, and see the tower's red aura finally turning blue.
I wonder why it took so long? I think, confused.
Aelita walks out of the "doorway" and walks over to us.
"That takes care of that," Aelita says.
"Now we can go home and get some sleep," Ulrich says.
"Not yet," Jeremy tells us.
"Why not? What do you mean?" Sissi asks.
"Mia is back, and she's heading straight for the Skid. She can still wreck our mission if she enters the code xana in the tower."
"You can always count on Mia to mess everything up," Ulrich says.
"Any vehicles left in your garage?" Aelita asks.
"Odd and William hate lending out their equipment. Lila, you can have Mia's old Overboard since it was originally yours," Jeremy replies.
"Right," I nod. The vehicles materialize ahead of us.
"I'll take care of it, I promise," Ulrich says. "Now that I know how to use it!" Ulrich exclaims, getting onto Odd's Overboard. Aelita gets on with him. I get onto Mia's Overboard, and Sissi tilts her weight. The Overdrive starts up, so I tilt my weight too. All of us take off, with Ulrich leading the way.
We make our way back onto the path from earlier.
"Yeah!" Ulrich exclaims.
"I'll tell if you scratch my boyfriend's ride," Sissi jests.
"We'll see!" Ulrich exclaims, he pushes the Overboard to go faster. So Sissi and I push the vehicles we're on to go faster too.
Afterwards
At the Skid's tower
"Mia!"
Mia turns to look at me, we keep driving our vehicles along. We then jump off them. All three of us land, except for Aelita who uses her angel wings to stay in the air. The three vehicles fly over to Mia, who ducks to the side. They crash into the tower's side, exploding.
"Oh no, Odd's precious Overboard," Ulrich says, sarcastically. He taps his head with his hand.
"That's too bad I guess," Sissi says, clearly having been joking earlier.
Mia looks at us and grunts. She summons her kunai. Ulrich takes out his twin katana blades. I take my hunter's knife out of its sheath. Ulrich and I get to work. We attack Mia, but she pushes us back. Ulrich jumps in the air, then lands on the ice. Sissi charges her emeralds, then unleashes wind at Mia. Mia's weapons get stuck in the ice. The wind knocks Mia down to the ice. Mia gets up. She holds her hands out and tries to recall her weapons telekinetically.
Mia shouts, frustrated. Aelita takes the opportunity to fire off an energy field. It hits Mia, the energy field shocking her. Mia bends down. Aelita flies over closer to where we are. She lifts her hand up and summons another energy field. Aelita launches it, and Mia devirtualizes in a reddish black smoke.
"Okay Jeremy, we took care of Mia," Aelita informs.
"Perfect, it's smooth sailing from now on."
I put my hunter's knife back in its holster.
Let's hope, I think.
Ulrich puts his twin katana blades away.
"What do you know?" Jeremy asks.
"Jeremy, what's going on?" Aelita asks.
"Xana's consolidating the energy from all of the replikas," Jeremy answers. The four of us look at each other, shocked. "I'm not talking about just two or three."
"Any guesses on why he's doing it?" I ask.
"I wish I knew."
Suddenly the area around us starts to shake. We lose our balance. More shaking. The four of us try to keep ourselves standing.
"What was that?" Ulrich asks.
"I don't know, but I didn't like the sound of it," Sissi replies.
"Me neither," Aelita agrees. More shaking and some sort of roar.
"What's that noise?" Aelita asks.
"It's coming from behind us," Ulrich replies. We look behind us, and gasp.
"That's incredible," Ulrich says.
"That's… one word for it," I say. Looking at the insanely tall monster Xana's created. It's body looks like it's made from the earth, with glowing lava breaking through the cracks. Its target eye is on his head. The "hair" is weird, black wavy strands. The large monster's right arm is shaped like a sword with a red vein around what seems to be a small target eye.
The four of us start backing up.
"Wow, um, yeah, that is intimidating," Sissi admits.
"Jeremy?" Ulrich asks.
"Ulrich, Lila, Sissi," Jeremy speaks up. "I'm getting something on my screen. What is it?"
We don't answer him, as we continue backing up.
This thing… is creepy, I admit.
"Ulrich? Aelita? Lila? Sissi?"
"We've got a new monster to deal with, Jeremy, and he's gigantic," Ulrich replies.
"Any ideas on how to get rid of it?" I ask.
"Sorry guys, but I don't. But for now… there's only one solution. Run!"
We start sprinting away from the giant monster and take our weapons out. We all launch our best attacks at it, but even our combined force doesn't even make a scratch.
I charge my ice powers as I'm running. The monster looks down at us and drags its sword arm across the ground toward us. My snowflake amulet glows.
"Ice dome!" I exclaim. A dome of ice envelops me. I hear the others scream as they devirtualize. The sword arm must have gotten them.
"Lila, that won't hold up!" Jeremy exclaims.
"I know, I'm buying myself time!" I explain. The sword arm strikes my ice dome once, cracking it in half. The monster then lifts its sword arm again and brings it down on me, shattering my ice dome and devirtualizing me instantly.
Afterwards
Inside the scanner room
The scanner's doors open, some smoke escaping from inside. I cough a bit. Ulrich, Aelita, and Sissi are in the middle of the room.
"Lila's here, Jeremy," Aelita informs. "But Jeremy, Xana's created a new kind of monster. He's gigantic. He could destroy the Skid in a fraction of a second."
"Oh no…" I trail off.
Sissi goes over to me to help me. I take her hand, and she walks me out of the scanner.
"Thanks," I smile weakly. That honestly was not very fun.
"No worries," Sissi says.
POV William's
I'm dropped in Odd's front seat, while I'm usually on the side. I shake my head.
"Jeremy, where's Odd?" I ask.
"He's taking control of the Skid," Jeremy answers.
"But why would he need to-" I start to say, then look out the window. I see a large creature heading towards us.
"What the heck is that thing?!" I exclaim.
"We're not sure," Jeremy answers.
"Jeremy, major trouble. Get us out of here now!" Yumi exclaims.
"You got it. Docking release."
The large monster is about to strike, but the Skid manages to leave in time. It isn't as smooth sailing as Aelita's driving, but we're safe for now.
POV Lila's
"Nice one! Good work, Einstein," Odd compliments.
Jeremy takes his headset earpiece off. He puts it on the keyboard.
"He's a mountain, not a monster," Aelita says, her arms crossed for comfort.
"That's for sure," I agree.
"I can't wait to see what Odd is going to call him," Ulrich says.
"Ditto," Sissi agrees.
Afterwards
Everyone is back in the lab now. Odd has his hand on his chin, pondering our monster's new name.
"Hmm… the Kolossus," he decides. He points to us. "With a K, like K.O."
"I don't know who is going to get K.O.'d," Ulrich says, his hand in his pocket. "But the name sure suits him."
"We'll never make it now," Yumi says. "As soon as we try to set foot on a replika, he'll be there to devirtualize before we can say Lyoko."
Jeremy puts his hand under his chin.
"One thing is sure, we've got to change our strategy, because right now Xana controls hundreds of supercomputers all over the world. We'll never be able to destroy all of them," he shakes his head. Aelita looks at him.
"Got anything in mind?" she asks.
"No, nothing yet," Jeremy answers. "But I'm working on it," he says, gesturing to the keyboard. He winks too, and crosses his arms.
"Stick with it, but I'm ready to stick to my pillow right now," Odd yawns. "If not, I'll sleep through my math test tomorrow."
Afterwards
On the bridge
We're on the bridge, walking back to the dorms. Yumi has to head home. It's pretty late at night now. I'm walking with William.
"You okay?" I ask him.
"Sort of," he replies. "Fighting Mia in her spectre form was weird."
"I see. Well, if it's any consolation, Aelita defeated her on the replika," I tell him.
Afterwards
Lila and Aelita's room
I already took my shower, and I'm in my pajamas. Aelita is taking her shower. I just spoke to Kayori, she couldn't believe the monster I described to her. Now I press Mary's number on speed dial. I put the phone to my ear, Mary answers it immediately.
"Lila?" she asks.
"Hey, so Xana created a new monster today," I start, then tell her everything that happened today.
The Next Day
By the Bench
Aelita, Jeremy, and I are sitting on the bench. A lot of students are reading today's Kadic News. Milly is shouting a summary of what's inside. Yumi and Sissi are behind us. I was surprised she was okay with this, given what we're looking at.
"You're not going to want to miss this," Milly says, finishing her summary.
"What, did you photoshop this thing?" Jeremy asks.
"No way," Yumi answers. "I took it when they were coming out of the shower." Yumi whistles. William isn't too interested in it, and Mary mentioned last night she would be hanging out with Emily again. Jeremy holds one side of his glasses.
"Hmm…" he trails off.
Odd starts running away from Ulrich, who is chasing him. He's running so fast, he's actually kicking up dirt.
"You told me to tell her, didn't you?!" Odd exclaims.
"I'm gonna kill you!" Ulrich exclaims. Odd screams, running further away from Ulrich. We can't see them any more and can't help but laugh.
Well Odd, I guess you really will never learn, I think.
